He was a great professor. His tests were ok, and he curves them. His teaching was great, very helpful. I would recommend him to anyone.
He is fairly easy, as long as you go to class. My only complaint is that he talks to the class like we're in 3rd grade again - repeating things over and over again. But at least you learn it and he's pretty clear. His exams can be hard because he's really picky about showing/checking your work. But you always know what will be on the exams.
Great Job - really understand now.
Great Teacher. Easy to learn from. Often reiterates for those of us who don't "get it" the first time. Recommend taking him if you are not a math person.
His class is not really that hard, his exams are straight foward. No assigned homework, but will explain problems in the book if you ask. The class is OK, but HE IS REALLY MEAN! He yelled at us a lot when the class was struggling. He teaches like he's teaching to 1st graders... but it was a night class, mostly adults.
He is very easy going. He was ok to me.
Good teacher.
Great teacher! Very helpful and takes a genuine interest in the students.
Although he does not enjoy teaching economics. He is still pretty good. Gave a genorous curve at the end. Take good notes and study text before coming to class.
One of the BEST teachers I have ever come across and I HAVE learned a LOT from him. Definitely recommend him!
Great Professor, makes the class clear and very concise. Breaks it down to elementry steps and anwsers your questions. I HIGHLY recomend him.
I would highly recommend Mr. Agnich. He is very clear on what he expects. He does not assign work so you must be disciplined enough to do the work on your own time. He has a very sarcastic humor which I found very funny and amusing. He is also very helpful. Ask him a question and he will take the time to explain.
helpfull, nice guy, cares about students grades. if u get bad grades he will try his best to help you out.he helps students outside class, phone and emails.take him because if u r not good at math he will make it look simple. He takes his time going over a subject. east to follow him along. so take him if u r not good at math...he will make u good.
A wonderful teacher , He would do anything to make sure you pass the class with a good grade . He is very helpful , and would just make you fall in love with math . I use to hate Math , but not anymore.Alexandria Campus is lucky to have him.
He is a great teacher, I loved his class. Take him !!
Mr. Agnich is a great professor, who goes the extra mile to assure his students know the material.
i love professor agnich. he is clear in what he teaches and sooo helpful. during exams he allows the students to come up front and ask him questions and he helps as much as possible! if u enjoy math u'll love the class and if u struggle with math, he makes sure u understand his material!! awesome teacher!!!!!
Very nice teacher. He lets you ask questions during exams, and gives easy assignements. He is extremely helpful and knows the material. TAKE HIM!
Great Professor. I hadn't taken ANY courses since HS (13 yrs ago) and was BAD at math back then. He takes the time to explain everything and thoroughly prepares you for the tests. He's willing to work with your schedule too! Younger students didn't catch his humor but he's pretty funny. Just pay attention and ask questions and you'll pass.
awesome professor. really knows what hes talking about and super easy if you follow his instructions... just study and you will be set! i wish he taught 152
This guy is awesome for those who hate math. He genuinely cares for the students and that you learn practical things in his class. He will work with you as long as you do your part!
He really knows how to explain Math, and not a lot of Math professors can do that. I don't like Math, but he made me interested in it, because he showed me I was smart enough to do it! Too bad he doesn't teach anymore. :(
Mr. Agnich is great! He was very helpful with the homework and always ready to answer questions and assist. He is very well prepared and knowledgeable. Way to go!
Mr. Agnich was great! The class is not easy, he sticks to exams and homework, but he is very helpful and ready to answer questions. He is very knowledgeable and well prepared.
Prof.Agnich is extremely sarcastic and has a very dry humor. You must go to class and definitely read ahead before class! If the work gets too hard, see him and he will help you out, see you outside of his typical office hours, etc..There are only 3 tests, so make them count!!
Professor Agnich is a badass, and totally can come off as a condescending ass!@%*. But did I mention he's also awesome? Easily one of the most memorable professors I've ever had. A loud, intimidating, and great professor.
I took 152 with him and I loved it. his lecture was very lucy and fun. he is straight foreward. If you follow him, you will lean a lot and get an A..He is a nice teacher, I wish if I can take him again..
he is a very helpful professor. Before I signed up for this class, I was really afraid about the teacher, but now I think I've made the right decision.
he is such a great teacher. This is my first time understand what is going on in the class. extra credit opportunity. You will never get bored in the class~~
Possibly the best calculus teacher in Northern Virginia Community College, his delivery of material to the students are impeccable, extremely fun to be in his class and it was an honor to be at his presence.
Professor Agnich changed my entire perspective on what college is. He is the single greatest teacher I have ever had. Not only does he get you interested in the work he assigns, he actually inspires you to learn because you want to be like him. Top notch professor. He knows what he's teaching and is better than any other. I highly recommend him.
in one word, one of the most effective professors. mr. agnich is very helpful teacher. he knows his stuff. i'd suggest everyone to take his class. very easy A if u just pay attention on his lectures. also, lot of extra credits.he'll help u a lot. i wish i could take him for math 174 too, unfortunately he doesn't teach that. again, awesome teacher..
i really liked this class. he's a funny instructor, but pretty serious about the material. he tries to break down concepts to make it easier for students to understand, but u should listen to him and read ahead of time. and u SHOULD read the book! also he would relate what we were learning to our majors and the real world...u should take him!
One of the best teachers I have ever experienced. Attend classes, study for quizzes and exams, read the textbook and talk to Dr. Agnich if you experience difficulties. Students should appreciate teachers like Dr. Agnich!
he is the best teacher i ever have. I took both his 173 and 241 classes. he knows how to teach. I can understand the material without reading the textbook, but practice well still help you too. his test is straight forward. he is willing to help me, and I get help A LOT. I got A+ in the end for both class at the same time. Super recommand him!!!
One of the best professors at NOVA, he is very helpful and is always willing to help you and work with you until understand the material you are studying. He also has quite a sense of humor.
Mr. Agnich plainly cares about the material and wants his students to succeed. He can be slightly overbearing in his "real-world"exhortations, but everything he says is perfectly valid! Gives every opportunity to get a good grade--make an effort and pay attention, and you'll be rewarded.
I had never had a teacher who made learning math so much fun. He teaches every topic with alot of details and presents everything in a clear manner. Furthermore, he takes the time to help his students out. College professors don't get any better than Agnich.
He is an amazing teacher with an amazing beard. Answers all your questions and is down to earth.
I was not looking forward to this class at all, but professor Agnich is an amazing teacher. He covers everything clearly, and not just by reading it from the text book(which is not all that clear). He is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. I wish I had taken all my math classes with him. Take his class if you actually want to learn.
Awesome Teacher. Willing to spend as much time as needed w/you. Before/After doesn't matter his goal is to help you. I haven't been in math for 22 years - I stink at it -skipped 3 math classes in order to get permission for this one - and got an A. He is by the far the best instructor I've ever had and he actually cares about your success.
Agnich is by far one of the top teacher's at NOVA. He explains everything so well that you don't have questions to ask. If you need his help he is always there to help you. Make sure you go see him after each test and quiz, so he can show you what you have to work on. I wish he taught STATS. Great teacher!
Professor Agnich is one cool dude. By being in his class, you will like math and get good grades. Don't let his two-foot beard scare you; he's just a bit of a hippie. He offers SO MUCH extra credit! On one test I got a 127%. He doesn't assign any homework and his classes are fun. If you want an A take this class.
Professor Agnich was the best! He is truly an amazing teacher. He is ALWAYS wanting to help. I remember a student once asked him if he could email him over Thanksgiving break if he had questions. HIs responce was, "I am available 24-7, and will always try to respond to you as soon as possible." He makes math easy and fun.
I did terrible in this class because I was very sick and never showed up. However, he is a great teacherm hes clear, very helpful, loves answering questions, and is entertaining. He encourages book usage but teaches on the board quite well. Kids slacked off and did poorly, but he really tried to help. He made my nightmare of calculus alot more lax.
Prof. Agnich is a great professor, but his tests to me (and a lot of other students i knew that had him) were EXTREMELY tricky. I always understood his lectures but once the quizzes came a long, they never turned out well :/ great guy, just really hard tests.
Professor Agnich was honestly the best!! He helped me learn things that other teachers could not get through my head. He really is one of the best teachers on campus, and truly does anything that is possible to help you. Strongly recommend him, you learn A LOT and he REALLY CARES. Plus Easy A.
great professor really cares about his students! u have to put in the work he expects that we are all mature adults and that we need to manage our time. a lot of students in our class weren't studying enough. there's weekly quizzes and a test once a month with 4 test and an exam in total. some were take home quizzes. forming a study group is good
Great teacher. He will go the extra mile to help you with whatever you need. You do need to study a lot to get a good grade. GREAT TEACHER!
He is really good teacher just take him and do what he said.
I don't get what everyone is talking about. He is the worst teacher ever!! And so intimidating! I hated his class, it was the worst!!
Great Teacher. Wish I had him for more classes.
He is awesome! im not a math person, like i really really didnt like math. he makes it clear, applicable, and is 100% available outside of class. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT. he's the first professor i went to get help from outside of class and it dramatically helped. I would take every math class with this guy. its fun, interesting, and entertaining
Not someone I would recommend. He has a Socratic, antagonistic teaching style, which I found was not conducive to learning. He told us repeatedly that we would fail this course, & that we would fail in real life, if we did not work hard. I put in at least 10-12 hours a week, & was still struggling. It's a hard course - don't take a hard professor.
Professor Agnich is an amazing teacher. If you are scared of math, he is the one you want! He was encouraging, funny, and clear in his instruction. If you are working at this he will go above and beyond to make sure you win. When you do well you will hear,"victory"! Highly recommend this teacher!
I have not had a great teacher like P.Agnich for a long time. He is very hepful, and really wants everyone to excel in Math, and in life. He also "always"available in his office (in his office hrs).I wish all professor was like him. Highly recommended.
Very helpful,he'll make time 2 help u & encourages questions.Responds to your emails very quickly & helps on h/w assignments.Make sure 2 get 100% on all take home assignments. Not easy concept class, but an A is very realistic w/some effort. Tests/etc come from book problems.Lectures unclear sometime.I recommend him 2 all.Cares about his students.
Prof. Agnich is the best and helpful teacher. He puts a lot of efforts to help and improve student to be good at math. No matter how do you in math, he will make you understand more about math. You will appreciate his helping. I really love Prof. Agnich. Take class with him !
The best teacher that you would need his help in math class.
GREAT GUY! So willing to help his students and even spend hours and hours (literally) in the math lab to help you understand and complete units. He is great! Take him if you get a chance! Very funny guy. :)
I hate math when I was in high school. I graduated almost 4 years ago, and I forgot almost math skills. However, I got an A when I took his math class. He helped me a lot. He always ready to help his students. If you do homework, pay attention, ask when you have questions, and don't miss any class, you will pass the class with an A.
Great professor that really cares about students and success in class and life; he will be missed in the math dept; however, he will be working in another capacity on Loudoun campus; if you need career advise, find Prof. Agnich; humorous, enjoys teaching, helpful; makes non-math majors appreciate the class; could not have made it through otherwise!
One of the best professors I've ever had! Math is my weak subject, but he made it easy! He is really nice and his lectures and methods are really simple and easy to follow. His tests are not bad at all and almost everyone in the class got an A or B on them. Would highly recommend to those who struggle with Math.
I peronsally wasn't a fan of his class. His teaching style was a bit all over the place which for me is very confusing. It made it hard to follow along in the class. I also didnt like the fact that he doesnt assign homework. He only assigns us to do problems out of the textbook. He can be very mean as well with the indirect comments he makes.
Professor Agnich Is the Best professor for Math. I wish I could take him for all Math classes. If you really want to learn the material, Take him. I am taking him for Math 271 as well.
Professor Agnich may not be for everyone, but he is very helpful. He takes the time out of class to have him meet with you. His class tends to be very straightforward, no homework, but remember to study the lectures and go over the notes from that class. Doing a little practice here and there you and you should be golden. Good Professor.
In all honesty, he wasn't my favorite professor at all. All he does is lecture and give out tests. There was no homework which was really dumb in my opinion. If you want to get better, you should give out homework and assign homework. He wasn't my favorite teacher at all.
Professor Agnich is the most amazing human being. He is the reason after just one semester I am in love with math. Inspirational and easy to work with. Always there to help and guide. I am very sad he won't teach me next semester. I will never forget him and his lectures.
Professor Agnich is the most amazing human being. He is the reason after just one semester I am in love with math. Inspirational and easy to work with. Always there to help and guide. I am very sad he won't teach me next semester. I will never forget him or his lectures.
Professor Angich can be hard to talk to sometimes, but as long as you do the works and show up to class. You are going to be fine. He does not check homework, but he suggests you to do the odd numbered problem exercises in textbook. You are always welcome to see him during his officer hours, but there are always lots of students there.
I thought I had failed in that class because I was so behind everything and i never dedicate myself in studying, however Mr. Agnich was one of the best professors i had while im in NOVA. He is very experienced and cares about the students. He will give you many life lessons that will make you think twice. I would gladly take him again if i have to.
You have to put in some work especially if you are not particularly good at math, but he makes himself available at any time to help with anything. He will go over tests with you after you take them so that you actually learn the material. There is a paper at the end of the semester, but it isn't hard. Be respectful, punctual, and participate.
Great professor. I am terrible at math but I ended up with an A in the class due to his great teaching methods. He is also very inspirational and always looks to help out in any way that he can. Although it was an 8 week course, I am so glad I took it because he was hands down the best math teacher I have ever had despite the small window of time.
I've never taken precalc before and i'm not amazing at math either, so this class was a bad decision on my part. Tho, Agnich made it all doable hes a great teacher/always there for you, BUT his exams are very challenging. If you don't plan on working your butt off and learning math IN DEPTH, stay away
Great lecturer. Very challenging exams. HW is not mandatory, but crucial. Shouldn't take unless you've taken precalc before.
Great teacher, will meet outside office hours and give you extra credit if you come see him in his office.
He is the reason that I got an A in my 8-week precalculus class. He doesn't make the material harder than it already is, and always gives students opportunities to come to him for help.
He is the reason I passed my 8-week calculus course. He doesn't make the material harder than it needs to be, and gives students plenty of opportunities for help. He is one of those professors who truly wants to see his students succeed.
Math 151 is the most pointless class in the world. You don't even have to try. Plus Agnich lectures in a way that you end end up leaving every lecture with the best notes in the world. I never studied and got A's on every exam! His lectures can get boring and slow but he's great because its not just a math class, you literally learn about LIFE!
I took Pre-Calculus and Calculus with Professor Agnich, both in 8-week sessions. He is the best professor, let alone math professor, that I have ever had. The level of understanding that he has allows him to explain complex concepts in relatable ways. If you struggle with math, I strongly recommend Agnich he will make you a master.
Best math professor I've ever had. He grades on a HUGE curve. Most of the students in my class failed every test, but somehow still ended up with a B in the class. I got low scores on every test but somehow got an A in the class. He grades based upon improvement and does not worry about the actual score. He genuinely wants to see students improve.
Prof Agnich is great. I am not usually good with math, but he does a great job at teaching the subject so that everyone can understand. He really cares about his students. He will often take class time to teach life-lessons. I will definitely be taking him for MTH271.
Honestly one of the best Math Professor's I have ever had. First quiz I took in his class I got a 40, then a 15 /100 but I talked to him and he helped me out. A lot. And now I have left with a better understanding of math and real world applications than I expected to.
Had him diff equ. Incredible teacher. Has a lot of real world world experience that he strives to pass on to students. Very accessible outside of class and super helpful.
a shixxy and pedantic professor who thinks he knows math. Take him if you want to have an easy A though. feel like he is bias sometimes, but the tests were not hard.
Agnich is great and knows the subject inside out. He puts a lot of emphasis on study habits and setting yourself up to succeed. Lectures are mainly based on questions the class has. He didn't give homework for my class, but expected us to practice every day. Take advantage of office hours! If you show improvement and progress, you'll do well.
I took Pre-Calc with him and learned so much! It is CRUCIAL that you have strong algebra skills beforehand, or you won't do well. Take good notes and ask questions if you need help. If you fail a quiz at the beginning of the semester but improve in that skill later on, he is gracious with final grades. He wants them to reflect what you learned.
Professor Agnich is an excellent math teacher. He not only teaches math but also gives you valuable life advice. He cares about students and truly want them to succeed. He is always available if you struggle with material and explains topics in a clear way.
Great guy, really cares about students and does his best to ensure everyone does well. His assignments provide plenty of practice and if you do all of them, you will easily pass.
Took him for the 8 week course. My review is do not take him if you have a full time job and are taking five classes. It will be too stressful for you (he even said this). Take him if you are ready to focus 16 days or less on math. Overall though he is a great professor and will grade you on your improvement in his course.
I took him for the second 8 week course and even though it was quick with the information Proffessor Agnich managed to explain everything so everyone understood. By fat the best Math Proffessor I've ever had. He is a definite take. He doesn't require you to buy the book but it helps and you don't need the new expensive version.
Great professor. His in class lectures can be confusing, but if you are not great at math I would still recommend taking him. If you show up and put effort into you work in class and it shows, he won't grade you fully by the percentage you receive on the exams. Very understanding professor.
Professor Agnich is probably one of the best math instructors at NOVA. He really wants his students to do well and encourages them to come to him with questions. He is even willing to overlook poor quiz scores if you show improvement! That being said, his class is far from easy. He is a tough grader and his class is not for the faint of heart.
Math is my best subject, so I am very critical in rating math professors. Prof. Agnich is one of the greatest professors I have ever taken. I took two high-level classes with him in the same semester. He could be perfect in both. Lectures are well organized. The tests include only what was covered but require some critical thinking skills RECOMMEND
Not good. I don't think he should be teaching. Puts the class to sleep. Boring lectures and no good.
Professor Agnich want you to learn real calculus. He's genius but he don't know how to teach the class. Everything based on 4 tests and the quizzes. Attendance doesn't matter. He won't drop out lowest test either. He will move you around either in the middle of the semester or the last day of the class. He gave D to half of the class last semester.
Prof. Agnich is really good as he knows the material, and wants to help his students out. He clearly explains the material well and encourages you to seek help if need be. Lectures can be kind of boring as he will not really talk about math and talk about stuff we already know. He's very critique when grading tests/quizzes.
I did not like his class. Almost every class throughout the whole semester I felt as though he was criticizing the class on how they prepare themselves and their note taking skills. It's a math class yet we wrote so many papers. I took his class because he had such great ratings but his ratings did not match up with how he truly was with the class
Super nice professor, he truly wants his students to succeed! I took him for pre cal and Im taking him again for cal! I really enjoy the way he grades, and he is also a available outside class ! I would take him again and I am
Really good professor, may come off a little intimidating at first but super nice and truly cares about you how you do!! Make sure to attend every class and take notes! Study frequently and take advantage of those office hours! Hes super understanding when you see him and will explain anything you may have issues with! Would definitely take again!
Agnich is a great professor once you get used to him and his grading style. He gives you "the grade you deserve" at the end of the semester so not very clear, but he teaches great and is readily available during office hours to help!
Best Teacher ,Made Maths easy , i took 151 with him ,would love to take 152 with him
Taking prof. Agnich for MTH151 was the best class I have taken during my time at NOVA. He is a great professor that is very focused on critical thinking and workforce deployment skills. If you take a lot of notes, pay attention during class, and show up on time, you will most likely enjoy prof. Agnich.
I took prof Agnich because he had such great review but it was a mistake! He lectured every class, would criticize you on your note taking skills and sometimes even insult the students on their work. During the semester I went to his office, to the mathlab, practiced tons of stuff and nothing helped his tests were hard and nothing helps you prepare
Prof. Agnich is a great guy, he really wants his student to succeed and meeting with him will really help your grade. Grades on improvement.
Would not recommend at all! I thought his class was an easy A like people said on here, but I had to drop his class after the third test because I still was failing even after getting a tutor and studying for days! Gives hard and confusing tests and unnecessary essays. No extra credit.
Don't fall into the trap of hearing he is an easy grader, Professor Agnich is going to make you earn and work very hard for everything you get, for incoming students he's the perfect teacher to get you into the college mindset that not everything is going to be handed to you for just showing up. He cares though, and is approachable and helpful.
Agnich is a great professor who truly cares about his students when they put clear effort in their work. If you are looking for an easy A, look elsewhere. If you show a great level of improvement he will give you a final grade he thinks you deserve. I started out getting F's on the first test and quizzes but ended with B's and got an overall A.
Gives critical thinking questions. But he is very caring and nice. He explains really well though and he answers questions too if you have one. Talks a lot about his experience and about his life too. Overall, not a boring class a little hard but you should be fine if you understand whats going on.
I really admired professor Agnich. If you're looking for an easy A, this is so not the class for you. He may come off intimidating at first but he is so far from it!! Super nice and caring and is more than ready to help you if you're struggling. He cares a lot about improvement and thinking critically. wish he was teaching the next math I need
Mixed feelings about Agnich. Communicates clearly and pushes students to think critically. Nice guy who loves it when you go to office hours. I'm not great at math so I worked hard and went to his office hours constantly. Ended the class with a C so I retook it (different professor) and got an A. Overall tough class, I give Agnich a solid C+.
Patient and detail oriented.
