He is the man, class is a breeze. he gave 2 tests, the midterm and final. Had 3 book reviews which were very easy. I would definitely recommend taking him again, he is really nice too. A++++

He is THE BEST!! If only he could teach every subject. My favorite teacher and class, HANDS DOWN. Only 2 book reviews, which can be done night before and still receive a good grade. He never takes attendance. Also, no midterm or final; instead, he has 4 easy tests, which are based on the notes - so no textbook necessary. TAKE HIS CLASS!

I took his course in the second semester of my Freshman year. I did not do good at the college in the first semester and I did not like most of professors. Avitable changed all that. He was funny and taught me alot about history. I wished that he would play the harmonica in class. When he never did, I bought one and learned how to play.

Prof. Avitable is a good guy, jokes around from time to time which is funny. He makes clear what is going to be on midterm/final. He lets you out a little early if you're taking a 3 hr.

Took Professor Avitable for U.S. Since Reconstruction. It was a night class and he always let us out an hour early. Two essays all semester and you only have to read one chapter from the textbook a week, to reinforce his lectures. Tests are only on what he goes over in class. Great professor, great topic, great class.

I felt that this was the best class I took at Quinnipiac. I took this course as a senior to fill an elective. I was not expecting much and just needed an easy course. This professor literally rocked each class and lecture. Take this course if you need a history course. I actually found myself liking history after I took it.

Very funny guy - always joking. No computers allowed in class but he keeps you entertained. Actually makes history really fun. No attendance and always ends night class early around 8 or 8:30. No need to get the textbook.

Professor Avitable was awesome. He was clear and to the point. I took him as a night class and he always let us out early. Cancels class a lot but doesn't hold you responsible for material that wasn't covered in class. Two papers, a midterm and a final but overall a pretty laid back class. I would 100% take again.

Prof. Avitable is awesome. The class itself is very straightforward & there are only 4 exams & a paper. Exams are easy if you pay attention to his lectures & take good notes. He does not use PPT or write much on the board so good note takers will do better. He does not allow computer use in class either. Funny guy though. Cancels class often.

Any class this guy offers take. The exams aren't terrible usually 10-12 short answers, 2 sentences will answer most of his questions. His lectures were the best and you got everything you needed out of them. Class was usually no longer then 35 minutes a day and he plays movies for the last couple weeks.

Professor Avitable was a pretty good professor. I took him for HS131 and we only had 2 tests and one final paper. He is lecture heavy so definitely take good notes and go to class.
