He is a fair grader and offers help constantly. I will state that if left-brain stuff like programming and minecraft isn't your thing, then perhaps you should select another professor. He also teaches through throwing you in the fire and then letting you put yourself out. This is my preferred learning style, however, you might prefer more lecture.

Something you will learn by being in his class is that he genuinely cares about his students. Not necessarily in the sense that he cares about the grade you get, but more in the sense that he is not just going to leave you with bare minimum effort. The only qualm is that he's a little hyper and it can feel anxiety-inducing or overwhelming at times.

It was a pleasure coming to class everyday. This was the only class this semester that I ended every class time.

I rarely take time to ever make a post about a teacher unless they're extremely terrible or amazing. Fortunately, Professor Baird is awesome. K303 is a relatively easy class if you can operate a computer. Professor Baird is one of the most personable individuals I have ever met, and always telling awesome stories in class. Take this guy!

I did not have Professor Baird for the entire semester, but the short time that I did have him, was one of the most pleasant experiences in Kelley. He's like the dad you always wished for, but goes above and beyond that. Loves to tell funny stories, but the stories always relate to something we're talking about in class, or provide life lessons.

I went to Baird's office hours to get help with a final project. He could tell that I was stressed and that something was wrong, so I started weeping as soon as he asked me if I was okay. He sat with me for an hour and told me life stories, gave me advice, and helped me redefine "failure" and the way I viewed it. He changed my life for the better.

This class is made up of about 7 graded projects of varying sizes. Take this class with Professor Baird, trust me. Lots of tough subjects but he walks you through it and you come out with measurable skills on excel, python and tableau.

Somehow makes the challenge of the work enjoyable. There are 8 graded projects throughout the semester but he is very accessible for help .

Baird was AMAZING!!! I'm only giving a 4.0 for the difficulty because most of his projects are graded 85/95/100. To achieve a 100 is almost impossible unless you really did impress him. Professor Baird is my favorite professor I've had. I'd highly recommend taking his class.

Professor Baird is the best way to go for any excel class. He makes it fun and engaging, and isn't a tough grader. Try your best and he will help you the rest of the way. Truly a passionate teacher.

Caring professor who is easy to interact with. Course materials are challenging but he is always available to help. Prepares you for projects directly through the lectures.

Professor Baird is a top 3 professor for me. He is very easy to reach and wants you to learn. Although the class is hard he helps you figure out how to succeed. Start early on projects, be communicative and you should do well.

Professor Baird is one of the best professors at Kelley. Although attendance isn't required, I highly recommend attending all of his class sessions if you can. Not only is he highly engaging, but the content he teaches is directly related to the projects and quizzes in his class. He is also very accessible outside of class via Teams.

Professor Baird is phenomenal. He warns students at the beginning that the class will be difficult, but if you're up for the challenge, K327 with Baird is the most useful course at Kelley. Classes are engaging and he teaches everything needed for the projects. If you still need help, he is accessible until the final minute. Highly recommend.

Professor Baird is one of my favorite instructors I've had at IU. He's really passionate about what he teaches and wants to prepare all of his students for success beyond Kelley. If your schedule permits, I would strongly recommend enrolling in his class.

Professor Baird easily takes the title for most passionate professor in Kelley, in my opinion. His passion for the subject is clear, his capacity to relate everyday topics and anecdotes to concepts in class and methodologies he wants his students to be aware of is immaculate. I cannot stress enough how helpful he is to those who reach out and ask.

One of the best professors I've had at Kelley. Always take the time to make sure students get through challenges for the projects and offer very useful hints. However, try to ask him questions before or after class, as sometimes he's not very accessible outside of class on teams.

I was hesitant about Prof Baird at first, but by the end of the semester it makes sense why he has 212 votes for 5 stars. Take him for K303 if you can, and be patient until the last day of class - it'll all be worth it!

By far best Kelley Prof. I've had. Really cares about his students and is such an interesting person. Made me want to come to class.

Do yourself a favor and take this professor at least once before you graduate.

If you are looking to learn and grow as a student & person while developing technical skills along the way, taking a class with Professor Baird is a MUST. The absolute GOAT.

Words cannot do him justice. I don't think there will be another teacher in my academic career that will be able to top Professor Baird. I wish everybody everywhere could take a class with him, but we are the lucky few. Don't let that go to waste.

As the ratings show he was amazing. His stories were very funny and crazy dude has lived a wild life. I would say though a few complaints is he is late on getting back to you on things. Like we didn't know we had no class till 7 A.M that morning even the TA showed up lmao.

Most engaging professor who genuinely wishes the best for his students. Extremely accommodating and willing to help out, reachable at nearly any time of day. Projects move quickly, easy to fall behind without going to lectures- get extra "exit ticket" points as well. He is flexible with making changes to curriculum based on current student feedback

Professor Baird may be the best professor I have had in my college experience. Not only was he extremely caring for students, but he also made learning fun. Using stories, he helped tie everyday things to Excel topics, which helped me learn effectively. He also taught us like we were people rather than students, and formed true relationships.

Professor Baird is truly one of the best professors at Kelley. He cares so much about helping his students, making fun and engaging projects, and overall seems so passionate about Excel and teaching. I looked forward to this class every week. The course was a wonderful challenge as well. If you can take any class with him, you really should.

As a second-semester senior, I was a little nervous to take this class, but this was hands down my favorite class and professor in all four years. Baird goes out of his way to help students, is outgoing, loves his job, and wants you to succeed. The best professor ever, and I will genuinely miss his class.

He is probably the best teacher I've had so far in college. He connects the class to life and really cares about our happiness more than the skills we gain. He grades nicely and is the opposite of boring. His last class is also the most inspirational class you could imagine. Amazing teacher 10/10. His stories are also amazing.

Such a great storyteller and makes class so interesting and engaging. go to class and listen to him! he teaches way more than just k303 but life skills too. he really cares about his students and is so so great. loved him!
