Great. Tests are hard though.

Really good teacher. Gave lots of credit opportunities and ways to keep up with your grade. He did a good job explaining the subject in his powerpoint. The tests though were a little hard.

My favorite professor at FSU so far. He really wants you to understand the material and challenge it logically. If you do your part and go to class, study, and think about what you're doing, you should do well. Take "Free to Choose" if you can!

One of my favorite professors at FSU. Very clear and interesting lectures. Very reasonable grading scheme. Always willing to help out and answer any questions. Tests are not an easy A, but there are always more than enough assignments and quizzes to boost your grade.

This guy is awesome. I suggest doing as much optional credit as possible, going to class, buying a clicker, and doing all the quizzes. Also use the chapter reviews to study for the midterm and especially the final. Mr.Calhoun makes his class very entertaining and is willing to help you. Try to get him!

Possibly the best teacher I have ever had. I went out of my way to take this class. He makes it enjoyable and it is very clear what he expects of you. Lots of study guides and just a quiz once a week. Just go to class to get the clicker points. Tests are a little on the hard side but can always be made up on the final.

This professor is really helpful and nice. There are a lot of assignments to help your grade, which is good. Attendance is not mandatory but you can earn your final exam point in advance if you go and answer clicker questions. I would recommend him for sure!

He is such a great professor. Passionate about what he does and tries many different approaches to ensure you understand the material. Dr. Calhoun is a well-qualified teacher. You will learn a lot in the class, and you will enjoy the lecture. That being said, this class is extraordinarily difficult to get an A in. Not due to the difficulty of the material, but due to the grading scale. You need a 95% to acquire an A, and at least a 92% for an A-. There is no margin for error.

Seriously, professor Calhoun is one of the best. He's extremely engaging and always looking for ways for students to enjoy the class. You could skip all of his lectures and pass the class pretty easily, but I truly don't understand why you would. I legitimately enjoy going to his class and am very excited to have him next semester as well!

All of his exams are online, just google them. He's very helpful when you have a problem with anything, even outside class My advice: go to class and use the clickers you'll be happy

It all comes down to the final, if you slack off in the exams then you'll see that show up as your final grade. Quizzes are easy, but you have to read the book to pass the class since the final accounts for most of your grade.

calhoun is da real MVP!!! his grading style caters to every type of student. he is extremely nice and clear. he offers clicker points in class and double points on fridays. sets up the class so you can choose how you want to be graded. gives many easy A opportunities to increase your grade

A 2-hour 85 multiple choice questions final exam makes 50% of your class grade. 2-3 online quizzes each week and each quiz take between 20 min to 1 hour. The material are not difficult but he manipulated the syllabus so average grade comes low. 90%-92% is B+. But relatively very easy C. Would NOT recommend him to straight-A students.

Calhoun is the man! He made economics (a subject I'm not very interested in) very entertaining. His final is cumulative and not easy but if you complete the study guides for each chapter as the semester goes on & understand the concepts it's an easy A!

Calhoun is the nicest guy. He genuinely seems to love teaching and being a part of the FSU environment, and his lectures aren't bad. There's a decent amount of extra credit and some homework here and there to boost your grade. If you buy a clicker, do the extra credit, and study, you should be fine. The final was a little tough.

Do all of the assignments even when he says they move to the final, you end up having to do nearly perfect if you miss assignments and not show up to class missing clicker points, they all move to the final exam, and it becomes half your grade. I managed to get 7585 questions right on the final (88) and received a B in the class.

Tests are online so it is easy to get good grades on them. The most useful thing in the class is doing the review questions that go along with each chapter under his "Supplemental Materials". Though he goes fast sometimes, it's good that he breaks in up and has a very well organized time schedule on when he will do his lectures and post quizzes online. He lets you use notes for pre and post chapter quizzes, the assignments are easy,and the 3 midterms are okay. But you must put in work a little to help yourself understand the material.

You have to go to class to get the extra credit clicker questions. Always do the optional credit. All quizzes and tests are online, however, they are very difficult. Some of the material gets challenging, but I am taking him for Micro next semester, I would recommend taking him.

Very fair and kind. Very concise and puts up recordingspowerpoints of his class on Blackboard in case you skipped a class. So attendance isn't mandatory, BUT he goes more in depth during the lectures. Only 3 take home tests online (50 Min limit), and one final. VERY easy. he made the subject fun, and also included many funny clips online.

Calhoun is a well qualified professor who wants nothing more than for you to learn and succeed. He is extremely helpful during office hours and not condescending in any way. It is up to you however, to earn your grade. With a 95% for an A there is little margin for error. Your final grade weighs heavily on the final. A little effort and your good.

I took him for macro and now micro his lectures give you a lot of information and the examples he uses are great, he's very easy to talk to if you have still have questions after class. The grading system is a bit odd but I like it. You for sure have to go to class for the clicker points but if you miss he does do videos . I would recommend.

Probably the most organized professor I have ever had. Keeps lecture interesting with examples and videos. He's very knowledgeable and experienced. The grading system is a little odd, since some assignments are optional and the final is worth a massive chunk of your grade. Attendance is optional but class is enjoyable. Would definitely recommend.

Calhoun is a great teacher and really just one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. Lectures aren't mandatory but clicker points are important so definitely get as many as those as you can. Your grade really comes down to the clicker points and the final exam so take care of those and you'll be fine.

Calhoun's class was enjoyable, and I did actually feel like I learned Econ. He likes to include video clips that somewhat apply to what's going on, but mostly they're just for fun. He uses a phone app for clicker points, and can set it up so that if you aren't in class you can't answer the questions fast enough, so show up, if only just for that.

Amazing professor, go to class being the clicker can make or break your grade. I had him for both macro and micro and would for sure take him again. He explains everything clearly in his power points and do the extra credit it will make a difference in your final grade.

The class was really easy at the beginning, lost of quizzes but all online and so were the first 3 exams. What got me was when the final was cumulative and not online. Also he uses i-clickers for participation and i thought my attendance was good but by the end of the semester, my grade was not that high. Lectures are helpful.

Joe Calhoun is one of the greatest guys. Always very clear. Very good at explaining things and will always be willing to help you during office hours even though he has 3,000+ students. Tries to makes the lectures interesting with silly videos. However the final exam does have a good amount of weight on it.

Yes, the final is worth a large amount, but if you've been keeping up with the work all semester, not missing quizzes, and doing ALL the extra credit, you will do well. Calhoun made class as interesting as economics could be. Quizzes, Tests, and Exams are all through blackboard except for the Final which is a lot harder. He gives you opportunity for A LOT of extra credit. The "clicker" questions are through an app you have to buy but it impacts your grade a lot so get it! Im taking him for micro next semester.

Easily my favorite professor this semester. Classes are fun and one can learn very well with his style. Final is a HUGE factor of your grade but as long as you study everything works out well. Would take him again and I highly recommend Calhoun for anyone needing an Economics credit.

Honestly this class isn't very difficult. Buy the Top Hat and the ONLINE textbook. Yes, they are expensive but it will honestly save your grade in the class. You have the option to just sit there and do nothing but have fun with a final worth 65% of your grade. If you do the optional work, such as attending class for questions, it's an easy A.

One of the greatest professors at FSU. You can tell he ACTUALLY cares about his students and the subjects; he WANTS you to pass. So helpful if you email him or go to office hours. He will never condescend you, but only speaks to you with the utmost respect. His class made me add Economics as a second major. TAKE HIM TO REALLY LEARN ECONOMICS!!!

I would definitely recommend Dr. Calhoun for any class. He is really invested in his students and wants everyone to succeed. He gives you the tools to get an A but its up to you to achieve it. One of the best teachers I've had and I will be taking another one of his classes.

Calhoun is a great professor that keeps econ as entertaining as possible. He starts class with music while everyone settles in and adds fun videos into lecture. He wants his students to succeed, but you will need to actually learn the material in this class to do well, although not a difficult class overall.

get ready to have 1000 assignments. They are pretty straightforward though, just a lot of reading and writing. I got As on pretty much all of them, but they did require effort. Easy A as long as you do the assignments. He also drops a lot of grades incase you miss some assignments/quizzes or don't do as good as planned. Id take again.

This class is as straightforward as they come. Calhoun has entertaining presentations and funny, informative videos to enhance the lecture. My only caveat is that an A means a 95or above ; make sure you retake the chapter quizzes if you didn't get close to a perfect score on them.

One of the easiest classes I've taken. Uses top hat for every lecture so you HAVE to go to class to get your points, 3 tests which are on blackboard and gives pre/post quizzes all on blackboard. Final was tough because you obviously didnt have to study for exams since they were online and all on quizlet.

Make sure you get all the points and take advantage of extra and optional credit, if you pay attention and keep up you will be fine.

He really cares about his students doing well. Honestly I don't really go to class. All of his lectures are videotaped and posted on his blackboard along with the powerpoints. I log into my TopHat during class hours from my dorm and do those as extra credit. Highly Recommend paying extra for the extra credit. Final is worth a lot.

First, you have to spend a considerable amount of money to get all the extra stuff for the class, not including the textbook. Second, the grading scale is ridiculous. We used the textbook, but you can get by without it. He gives "optional credit" which means that however much of it you choose to do, will decrease the weight of your final exam. Without any of it, the final is 40% of your grade--so it's important. You don't HAVE to go to class but I highly suggest it, he gives EC questions.

This is a great easy elective to take for economics majors. All the assignments and tests are online. You need to go to class because the TopHat questions are a big part of your grade. Sometimes won't go into depth on certain topics that are tested but overall great professor and great guy.

I didn't particularly like him, but a lot of people do. All of his quizzes and exams are taken on blackboard, and all of the clicker points can be moved to the final. The final can end up being like 50%+ of your final grade if you want it to. Has a lot of busy work type assignments and i missed a few which lowered my grade a bit

Amazing teacher, one of the best professors I've ever had! Highly recommend to anyone taking macro or microeconomics. All quizzes and tests on blackboard and the clicker points can be received even if you're not in class (tophat, but its sometimes hard to get full credit). Credit you missed from the clicker gets moved to your final.

Awesome professor. From my perspective I would, highly recommend taking him, can't imagine a better economics teacher out there! Even though his class sizes are huge, he truly cares about his students. Swing by his office hours and get to know him, amazing human being!

One of my favorite professors so far. He made class not too boring which is saying a lot for a 300+ person class. His homework was easy if you paid slight attention in class and the exams were similar to the homework. Make sure you do all the optional credit because the final is challenging and could mess up your grade.

I love Dr. Calhoun. He is an incredible teacher. I have always thought that economics was a bit dull, but he makes the class extremely interesting. Dr. Calhoun's lectures are amazing. Tests are online/at home but make sure you know the material for the final which is taken in class. Economics isn't required for me, but I'd take eco just for him!

There are many options for extra credit and he cares about students doing well, it shows in him saving us money by using other programs-- not just the textbook. I almost wish I didn't already have macro credit so I could take his class again!

Probably the most fun class to be in, however, outside of class is miserable! so much homework using so many different programs. It makes things difficult not having all the assignments in one place. Definitely wouldn't call this an easy A class since an A is a 95% but if you work hard for it, its possible. Will still take him again for macro tho!

This was the fourth class I've taken with Dr. Calhoun, and his principles class freshman year was one of the reasons I became an economics major. He makes class fun and relevant, and is always respectful of the students and their ideas. Cannot recommend him enough, and I plan on taking a fifth class and doing a DIS with him senior year

He's a great lecturer and I liked him as a person, but this class was annoying. We were required to buy a ton of online accounts and it ended up being expensive. We didn't know what most of our grades meant until after the final exam. On the first day, he made it seem like the hardest class to fail, but it catches up to you.

Hes an amazing professor I didnt really have to study outside of going to the lectures. I got As on all the quizzes and exams and a B on the final and ended up with a B in the class. The final is worth 42% of your grade. Its not hard but tedious as its 85 questions. The grading scale may be ridiculous but hes the best professor!

Professor Calhoun is my favorite professor at FSU. I'm taking him again in the spring. There is a lot of work, but he makes lectures fun and if you do your work, you will get an A. All the quizzes can be found online, but they are exactly like the final so try to do them on your own. I got an 83/85 on my final.

He's a great lecturer and made class fun, def one of the better professors at FSU. HOWEVER, he requires everyone to buy $200 worth of class materials. His grading scale is also weird (90-92 B+, 92-94 A-, 95+ A). His class is very time consuming, LOTS of busy work, so you have to put in a lot of time and effort to earn an A! Final is also worth 43%.

Super nice guy, lots of online work but I am pretty sure that is mandatory for all ECO classes (and i guess they were kind of helpful). Didn't do so well with most of the class work but he gives a ton of extra credit opportunities as well as thorough study guide so I ended overall with a B+ in the class because of it . Dr. Calhoun is one of my favorite professors at FSU. He knows the material well, and the 3130 course is structured as a discussion, not a lecture, so students can really get to know the material well. There are two writing assignments each week (but they are very short) and no true exams. If you don't miss much class, you are exempt from the final.

Calhoun is great, if you show up to all classes but two you can skip the final. Lectures are interesting, as is the textbook. Lots of homework but you are supposed to look it all up in the textbook, and you get multiple attempts. As he said, no reason to not get an A. If you get to know him he'll always have your back.

Okay the people who give Calhoun a bad grade are honestly just lazy & never showed up to class. Yes there is tons of hw and assignments, but its doable. His grading scale is kinda wack but he's a really good professor & teaches you all the information you need to know to succeed in the class. If u stay top of ur work&don't slack off u will be fine

He makes the presentations very interesting, using scenes from movies we all know to tie it together. Gives a lot of work every week that when compared to the final exam, isn't worth a ton but its affective. I had an A all year and got an 89 on the final thanks to the skoolers packet also.

Professor Calhoun gives a lot of work but it's nothing hard and it's all meant to prepare you for the final. Weekly there are 2 quizzes, a second life module, and mindtap assignments that must be completed. Keep in mind the materials you need for the class are costly, and if you don't buy all the materials you are not getting an A.

One of the best professors at FSU hands down. I took him for both Micro and Macro. There is a lot of busy work to do each week that gets very annoying, but make sure to try and complete all of it because it is easy points and if you get 100s on all the assignments (which is easy), it takes SO MUCH pressure off for the final.

Calhoun, for the most part was pretty nice however we refused to give us copies of his notes and his answer was to just watch the class recordings which I thought was annoying. He put some exams on canvas and others in class which was a nice bonus for us except he would make the online ones on a non-class day so it could be a bit hectic for some.

Funny teacher but be prepared to spend a little penny on everything he requires you to buy. Most of the stuff is completely unnecessary. Lectures every class and provides a load of extra credit but some assignments weigh a lot more than others. Grading scale is not like traditional scale and you can get lower than what you expect so be mindful.

Hands-down my favorite teacher. He uses visual aids to help teach the material and is very good at explaining concepts in a way that is understandable. He gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit and is very willing to help you with any topics you don't understand. Highly recommend for future classes.

AMAZING professor. I enjoyed attending his lectures so much that I'm currently attending his macro class even though I already got macro credit from HCC. You REALLY have to work for the A in this class but he's such a great professor that it's worth taking his class. Paying attention in class and doing the homework really helps you fully learn.

I got an A in the class, did all the quizzes and tests and secondLife and got the full credit for Tophat and only did Skoolers two days before the final and ended up with an A on the final. Calhoun is the best professor I had in my four years at FSU. His class teaches you the diligence needed to pass any class. He structures the class to where you have a quiz due every few days. It's tedious and annoying, but if you want an A it will force you to create good habits that will help you get As. Go to class, study a little, read the book.

Calhoun is a great professor. Definitely be prepared to work though. If you put in the work, you will be rewarded for sure. He has lots of extra credit opportunities which should buffer for the final. The final is 43% of your grade, with a wacky grading scale. He makes it very attainable to do well in his class.

Awesome. Calhoun is one of the BEST teachers in that he breaks down concepts and makes them very easy to understand. His lectures are not boring and he usually has small video clips or memes for concepts. He uses TopHat (similar to iclicker) for in-class questions. This basically counts as attendance. only downside: EXPENSIVE -alot of resources

THE FINAL IS 43% of your grade. Joe is a gem, luv him, go to class HES funny & youll learn everything needed. Study for the final. Other exams are take home. You got this!

Joe is a great teacher, BUT keep in mind that the final is 43% of your final grade. He provides a lot of extra credit and it can really make a difference in your final grade so do it. While the class isn't hard, if you expect to slack off the whole semester and cram before the final, think again. That's the biggest mistake I made

His microeconomics class was TOTALLY WICKED along with his exams and his grading scale as everyone complains about. Shows awesome videos during lectures that are relevant to content. Definitely have to work to pass the final. Overall, as his motto always says, that class was TOTALLY WICKED!

Most of the classes are lectures but Calhoun finds ways to make them interactive and enjoyable. Even though attendance isn't mandatory he puts up top hat questions throughout the lectures. The weekly quizzes are online, final exam is worth a huge part of your grade (around 40%) but he gives alot of extra credit. Attend class and you should be fine.

His Microeconomics class was totally wicked.

He keeps lectures entertaining and explains well. The main issue with this course is that it can be confusing at times and the final is worth more than half of your grade. Participation through Top-hat is a large portion of your grade. He assigns weekly online quizzes and tests via the textbook website but they're not too difficult.

Top hat questions make being in class appealing but he always has sections at later times for those who like to sleep in. Lectures are engaging and he plays videos from cartoons and stuff. Hes very personable and sparks interest through his charisma. Also very accessible and online quizzes are information straight from the textbook.

Calhoun has been my favorite professor at FSU so far. He is a very intellectual man with the cutest in class videos to help us understand part of the lecture more or just give us a bit of a break during the lecture. You can tell this man really cares about his subject and students a lot. Plus, the class is fairly easy. I 100% rec. taking him!

Calhoun makes class extremely enjoyable and explains macro better than anyone. Although class isn't mandatory I recommend going because he teaches so well and explains everything perfectly, its better than teaching yourself afterwards. Funny guy, always available to help. Homework, at home quizzes, and in class points get you an easy A

Professor Calhoun is a great person! He has a great personality and he really tries to engage everyone in his lectures. Be ready to purchase a lot for the class itself like Top Hat and Second Life. There are at times up to three assignments due each week so it can be easy to miss one. The final is worth a lot but he offers a lot of extra credit!

It may not seem like a big deal at first, but TopHat questions are serious. It can really pull down your grade if you don't show up to class and answer them. For his Micro class I got a C- because of it, and this year in Macro I made sure to show up and now I have a A+ in his class. Other than that, super easy course.

All of these people are pressed that THEY CHEATED on a final exam and are bashing him for their mistakes. Sure his final is worth 50% of your grade, but it is so easy to pass the class by just doing all of the busy work. Best professor I've had hands down. I took macroeconomics at a different school and got a C-, but took micro w Calhoun and got A-

Everyone rating him so low because they cheated on his final. Dont let it hide the fact he is one of the top professors at FSU for a reason. Get to know him outside of class, hes a really cool guy. Maybe dont cheat next time.

Calhoun is a good professor, easy to get along with. The final exam was on canvas. Calhoun sends out an e-mail accusing everybody of cheating and then deducts 15% off the final exam, citing a log from canvas claiming I left the exam several times. I can only assume this was from background processes, I didn't cheat and now have to appeal the grade.

Calhoun once again proves why he one of the best. His lectures are extremely detailed and informative. The final exam is a HUGE chunk of your final grade but his questions are taken directly from previous exams. Tophat points also allow you to reduce the weight of the final. The only downside is that you have to pay for tophat and another resource.

Great professor. These were one instance where I was worried he was going to do something that would have negatively affected my grade, but this luckily didn't happen I should have known that Calhoun would do the right thing as he always has done in the past. Great guy and interesting lectures

Good teacher!

In online school he made an effort by putting videos up that showed him lecturing that helped with the class a lot. Wish I couldve met him in person he seems like a cool guy.

If you take Calhoun in person, hes an AMAZING professor (as Ive heard). Online it was very hard to learn and obtain information. Despite the negativity on this website, hes a good professor overall, although this semester his grading scale is very unfair. Be prepared to study for the final like your life depends on it if you want an A (online).

The final exam is basically your grade (45%) and you'll have to study a lot to do well. Calhoun's grading scale is unfair, but he a great professor who really knows economics. He is very accessible outside of class, but was very stubborn on grading policies, even with classes remote. I learned a lot about economics in this class.

Class is relatively easy given that most assignments are simple quizzes and discussions, however, exams make up the majority of your grade. Exam 3 and final are on Honorlock so be prepared for those. Final is worth 44% of your grade and grading scale is ridiculous. Need a 95% in the class to maintain a 4.0. Heard he is much better in person.

The majority of the class consists of Tuesday/Friday quizzes and discussion boards, all of which are open book open notes. The final exam was worth a hefty amount but if you review past quizzes you should be fine. Everyone left Joe bad ratings prior to him generously changing his grading scale at the end of the semester. Overall great proffesor.

Great professor and 3041 is an extremely beneficial class. Weekly assignments due on Friday, no lecture required but watch the recordings. 5 total exams so if you do poorly on one it won't impact you much. One paper. He can be unhelpful, weird grading for some assignments, I still 10/10 recommend. Easy A class is literally made to benefit students

Calhoun is a GREAT professor; his grading scale is the problem. The final was literally worth up to 52% of our grade & a 91.9% was a B in ECO 2013. But, you'll succeed in his class if you do the optional assignments (top hat/2nd life) so your final is worth less, study the Friday quizzes for exams, & take the time to actually learn the material!

Calhoun is great. If people are saying bad things, they probably had him for an online class. I don't really even like economics, but Calhoun made it great. His lectures are interesting and easy to understand. Only slight downside is the grading scale.

Great professor and super helpful

Calhoun definitely cares about teaching students economics. I took him for a 9:45 to 11:05 and really wakes you up with his enthusiastic teaching. Great at explaining difficult concepts. There are about 4 or 5 easy assignments a week. Class goes by fast. If you keep up with studying this class is cake.

He is the best professor at FSU. He makes class fun and enjoyable. Even when I didnt get everything written down or when I didnt understand everything he would stay after class to answer questions. He has this thing called second life where you do modules in a sims-like computer game. It helps with the material and was a fun brake from essays.

Excellent teacher!! Makes class and lectures interesting. Show up to class to do Top Hat. It's about 15% of your grade if I'm not mistaken. Easy points though. The Tuesday and Friday quizzes are at home. There are 5 tests and all of them are at home except the 3rd one and the Final Exam. Second life is also an easy grade. TAKE HIM! Simply amazing.

Lectures are fun and he is great at explaining concepts. Textbook is extremely hard to comprehend. His grading scale is not the best, getting below a 95 as your final grade is an A-. He basically gives you most of the exam questions during the quizzes, so not sure why people are saying his tests are harda lot of busy work, easy to get an A/B.

Lectures were mostly interesting! Its not too hard to get a good grade in his class because his in-person classes for this course at least have their grades inflated quite a bit due to his grading system. However I did find the tests to be difficult as he expected you to remember a lot of random facts & knowledge for them (especially the final).

Calhoun gives the BEST lectures. He uses tophat a ton so attendance kinda counts. He’s big on exams but there’s a lot of other chances to boost your grade

Amazing prof

I took this class online cause I thought it would be slight. Tests use HonorLock, and learning is completely done through textbooks and short pre-recorded recap lectures. I would recommend probably taking this class in person as it was pretty tough to actually learn the content through textbook readings but overall it isn't that difficult.

This was my 3rd class with Calhoun, I absolutely love him as a professor. He teaches his courses very well, and shows he cares about his students. There are 2-3 assignments due every week on Fridays at 6pm, but they are easy. His tests are not difficult, just go to class and you will do just fine! There are lots of opportunities to do well.

Joe Calhoun is a great professor, he clearly understands what he is teaching, and explains it in a way that is easy for students to understand. I took this class online and there was no book requirement. He has a few assignments every week due on Fridays at 6pm, which can be easy to forget if you're used to an 11:59pm due date.

This was not the first class I've taken with Joe Calhoun, I had him for ECO2013, and really enjoyed it. This class was a bit more difficult, but still doable. He gives multiple assignments due by the end of the week, but they are not super difficult at all. I took this class online, so I think might be why it was a bit harder for me than ECO2013.

Easiest class for econ majors by far. This class was super fun and helpful for real life. The grading was super annoying at times but also fair -- he claimed in lecture that he enjoys frustrating students by not rounding up grades. Go to class and do the homework and you will get an A. If you fail it's 100% your fault.

Gives great lectures that are interesting and beneficial for life in general. Assigned many homework assignments each week that were relatively easy. The tests weren't bad but the final was more difficult than the other exams. Go to class and do the homework and you will succeed in this course.

Professor Calhoun's ECO3041 class is challenging but rewarding. The workload is heavy, but going to class and using resources like unstuckstudy AI for study prep can really pay off. Overall, a great class for dedicated students.

Professor Calhoun is honestly one of the best professors I've had. He's direct and you should know what to expect from his syllabus, but his lectures are honestly some of the best I've taken.

Attendance is not mandatory but helpful, but as long as you do the homework assignments & quizzes it will be great. Also teaches you a lot of practical advice.

I will say, this class did have tons of busy work, but none of it felt even close to overwhelming. There's not too many video lectures (which I did enjoy) that you have to watch, and it's built on remembering a ton of little details for the tests, but if you watch the lectures and do the busy work, it should be a pretty easy A.

Dr. Calhoun's personal finance class should be a university requirement. It teaches you all the practical personal finance skills you will need to know in life such as retirement, investing, budgeting, and so much more. The class itself is super easy and informative. Take him!

The best professor I ever had. Inspired me to pursue economics. Brought life to a challenging subject.
