Has no idea what he is talking about and can't exlain anything! Even the simplest stuff!!! Avoid him totally!

I could have tested out of this class, but decided not to.I wish I did.If you know basic algebra, you will get a 100% in his course.If you really need help, this isn't the right teacher.He often makes mistakes when giving examples, and WILL mark you wrong for a mistake he made on a test.

Wow what a jerk, he changed the syllabus like five times and doesnt teach very well. This is a self teach course so beware if you take him, he is not clear at all. Maybe a little nice but not really

I usually dont rate teachers but i have to for this guy, He is the worst teacher i have ever had. One test every single person failed the test. HORRIBLE. SUCKS. WORST. THE WORST!

This is the worst teacher I have ever had in my entire life. He should just hand in his resignation now. The fact that no one questions him or his methods is unfathomable. He has probably brought about more failures than anyone else in the history of teaching. Shame on the school for even hiring someone so absurd.

This class was rediculous. I Dropped it before I even had the chance to fail. He doesn't care about his students being successful in the class. VERY by-the-book, and just plain awful.

Very ignorant. Doesn't even allow you to use a notecard on the test. Expects you to know every formula when he knows it's impossible. Avoid this guy all together. On the first day of class he gave a placement test. Sucks, sucks, sucks. Beware if you take him if you don't know calc your in deep trouble.

Thid dude, is by far one of thee worst teachers known to man. I didn't learn a thing, and if you like being stressed out, take this guy. otherwise, he is crazy, and actually yells at the students as if they were in 2nd grade. and plus he looks like the dad from ALF.

I don't use the word hate alot, but i hate this man. He is the absoutle worst teacher that west chester offers. The fact that he recieves a pay check each week is criminal. If you understand Math you'll be ok, but if you even have the slightest question i implore you not to take this doush.

Avoid Caspar like the plague. Only people that do well already know material. Most dropped or failed out.Should not be allowed to teach algebra.Doesn't curve, but he should. Would be OK if someone in the class didn't offend him.Someone in the class ALWAYS offends him. Expect to work VERY hard to get a B/C if you don't already know the material.

Caspar is not only a horrifyingly bad teacher; he is also a tool. He yelled at a student for using the restroom during class. He uses the examples in the text book to teach, but does not get his point across; esp. when he screws them up (which is often). He blames the students for low test scores. Plus he wears sneakers with slacks...come on!

If you had to choose between ripping out your own eyes and taking this proffessor ripping out your own eyes is a much much better choice. He has no idea what he is doing, he yells at students for not understanding what he doesn't teach. His idea of explaining a problem involves writing it on the board straight out of the book with no explanation.

This man is a sorry excuse for a teacher .. you try to talk to him or ask questions and he rambles about something .. but i must say that I have the second highest grade in the class, a 74 .. the highest is a 77 .. save yourself the headache and avoid him

U know the scene from Saw where the guy cuts out his own eye? It's kinda like that. If you get him...kill yourself. He's a living corpse who relies on ur stress for sustenance. Every day he reminds the class they are basicly retarded, and yells at u if u don't understand the lesson. If u can, kill someone so u can get their spot in another class.

This guy is a sad excuse as a math teacher. Try anything to get changed out of his class. not only does he drag on about how you have to do all of your homework or you will not pass that class, but he cannot teach you how to do the math. he goes from step 1 to step 5 and does not go over anything inbetween. Whatever you do, do not take his class. It was absolutely horrible. He goes way to fast, makes so many mistakes, and is just crazy. He always lectures that you need to do your homework and then you will pass, I did all my homework, and even went in for help many times, and the tests were still impossible!

In high school, I graduated with a B in calculus and an A- in trig. Now that I'm in this guy's class, I'm almost failing what's supposed to be INTRODUCTORY MATH!!! I do the homework, study for tests, and yet he includes material on the test that we don't even cover. He needs to retire.

Hated this class, it made no sense. One class he spent twenty minutes talking about how standard deviation was like a sub pump and then he got all carried away about the different kinds of sub pumps and by the time it was over he forgot what he was talking about. Doesn't explain anything, screws examples up on board and he needs to get NEW SHOES!!!

WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!! The class started with about 35 kids and then ended up with about 13 in the end. Hes horrible. I had to pay over 200 dollars for a tutor for this class and then he told me my tutor was stupid?! If you dont do the homework or show up for class you die... You have to do math his way or he takes points off.He needs to be fired!

Worst teacher that I have ever had. He states in the beginning of the course that he will not check homework and that it is up to us to do it and do well in the course. Then he spend about 20 minutes every class yelling at us for not doing the homework. He also spent alot of time making fun of his students and calling us stupid. NEVER TAKE HIM!!

Wow.. HATED CASPAR. I am not a bad student and I asked him questions frequently, but he doesnt like to answer questings. I JUST passed it and it brought down my whole GPA.. the course material isnt THAT bad.. but take it with someone else!! HORRIBLE

Into religion?? Well you will b after you're forced to pray to God each and every day that he helps you pass the class. No explanation for what he's teaching and overall redic. tests due to his inability to reach the students. AVOID THIS MAN AT ALL COSTS!! Worst educational experience since being paddled in kindergarten. Not merely a poor teacher, but pointlessly, over-the-top nasty. Constantly insulting students and tearing down any semblance of confidence. Frequently skips steps and fails to explain procedures, then blows up when questions are asked. Needs to retire, preferably to Pluto.

im dropping this class tomorrow because it's a waste of my time. he always write things on the board then halfway through the example erases things and puts different numbers, so frustrating

He is by far the worst math teacher i have ever had. He uses the exact same example out of the book but we never use the book. He tells us to the homework to help us pass his 8 PAGE TEST but never collect the homework because he always forgets. He can hardly hear you when you ask a question and he does not have reviews for his test. He's confusing

Horrible. I got all A's and B's this semester, and a D... Reason being, he doesnt teach, and is uncomprehensible.Told me he'd drop my lowest test grade,based on the grade i got he didnt...Nice guy,not a nice teacher... drop him if you have him.. His goal for my class was to get everyone atleast D's so we could move on to other classes

God Awful! Doesn't explain anything and makes a number of mistakes grading tests and going over examples. Statistics is not a hard course, but Joseph Caspar will make it hard. He needs to be corrected almost every class and fails to clearly explain test material. I can't wait to fill out his course evaluation!

Awful. All math done his way or no points. His methods are tedious and time consuming. Rude when asked questions. Does his own equations wrong. Takes attendance every class. Speeds thru powerpoints. Powerpoints have errors. Avoid class at all costs.

God Awful!!! He can't even understand the material hes going over. He consistently makes mistakes in class and just as consistently makes errors while grading tests. This class is easy, but for some reason He makes it extremely difficult. Completely unorganized and talks about the pictures on his screen saver all class. Never take him!

Incomprehensible. Probably because of the so called "elementary level" of the material or he just doesn't give a damn, or is too senile. Don't take this class (oh wait, you have to).

He is absolutely AWFUL! Do NOT take him, I studied my butt off and had to basically teach myself but still had to drop the course. When I asked for help he made me feel stupid, and when everyone had tutors he said it was a waste of time. He is awful I cannot stress this enough, look for someone else or prepare to be miserable.

Do NOT take him! the only reason I got a B was because the final was easy and not made by him. Also, right before the final, my friends from other stat classes taught me how to do problems on the calc (which caspar does not) and it was way easier. Caspar does everything hand written, and that is what kills people. On a calculator it is easy.

Probably the worst professor I have ever had. He doesn't explain anything, and when he gives examples, he doesn't do them right and confuses the entire class. Intentionally tries to make you feel stupid and not helpful at all when you go to his office hours. I think I had a better understanding of statistics BEFORE I took his class.

Would never take this teacher again. He's nice but the class is very hard. You copy everything into your notes that he puts on the board. If you don't understand he gets frustrated and doesn't have another way to explain it usually. Started giving out homework because everyone was doing poorly. Must go to class attendance is taken.

Would not recommend Caspar. Terrible teacher. I remembered a good amount from high school and he confused rather than taught. Ask a question and he will make you feel like an idiot. Avoid at all costs.

Horrible prof. His class is 100% notes and all he does is give examples, but never actually explains anything. He confuses himself and the entire class at least once a day. Avoid him if possible. Not that you'll find much better at WCU.

Dr. Caspar is an interesting professor. Nice guy but pretty bad teacher. He has some good stories but is boring most times. He has TERRIBLE handwriting so either sit in the front or get glasses. Don't get the textbook. HW is not graded, never did one and scraped a C out of it. Tests are hard but it's out of 110 points so EC is worked into it.

this was the worst class of my life. i had to drop it because i was bound to get an F. he expects you to know what your doing and makes your feel like a dum ass. suggestion dont take him

started every class by telling us all we were gonna fail. didnt help. made us feel stupid for asking questions. got an a in this class in high school, theres no reason i should fail his class. i had to withdrawal, because it was the only class i wasnt getting an A in. i dont recommend him, for algebra anyway

Absolutely everything a teacher shouldn't be. He just copies on a board from his own notes that have mistakes. He can't explain even simple math without using HIS complicated and outdated methods. I'm an above level math student that had to re-take a 100-level math due to transfer problems. Harder than calc, stat, and finance classes i've taken

Terrible Prof. Wants to see you struggle with his work. Makes constant errors/has no idea what he's doing. My first Student Advisor actually told me not to take him; I should've listened. If Academic advisors are telling you to steer clear, he's probably pretty bad.

I hated this class. Professor was horrible, wrote fast and small. I sat in the back of the classroom and couldn't read anything. Failed two tests (didn't understand it), had to withdrawal. Took STAT this semester with a different professor, less notes that were easier and I'm doing very well. PLEASE don't take him!

This professor was the worst teacher I have ever had for a math class. He often gets confused with what he is saying, does not know how to make up example problems to help the class to understand concepts, and his exams were difficult and graded harshly. If he is the only professor available, wait to take the class another semester. Not worth it

If you struggle with math I highly recommend taking this class with another professor. He is not a very friendly man and is very stuck in his ways with teaching. I had a tutor and failed the first exam and didn't do so well on the second. I had to withdraw. There are other professors available who want you to succeed.
