The idea behind showing up to the classes is that you learn the key concepts from him. If you are TRULY bad at math, I don't recommend him. Unless you have 7 hours a day to dedicate to the coursework this class is not for you. He is nice, but the exams are extremely hard for no reason-considering he says he is aware most people aren't math majors. Lots of homework that is irrelevant to exams. Take math courses elsewhere not umb!!!!

As a Psych major, I knew Calc would be my toughest journey. I hoped for an understanding and helpful Professor, and Dr.Cooper was all that and more. He always explained the problems to me over and over, no matter how much I needed it and gave me encouragement that doing my best will pay off. I highly recommend Dr.Cooper, he is an awesome Professor!

Dr. Coop was a great professor, he definitely made me hate math a little less with his teaching. He always took the time during class to fully explain answers to questions anyone had, even if they were small asks. Super nice and caring, I'm so glad I got to take math with him instead of someone else.

As a person, Dr. Cooper is great. When it comes to his class, it's hard if you don't go to his out-of-class hours. He does not give back your tests in class so if you want to see the questions you got wrong, you need to take the time to go after class. Your whole grade is also based on 4 tests with the option to drop one of them.

Cooper is fantastic. Quite a lot of the material is counterintuitive so if you want to do well, then be prepared to invest your time in attending office hours regularly, he is quite patient! Do this early on and not later into the semester. Only things is that I wish he made marks on tests for students to actually see what they did wrong.
