This isn't a class for slackers. It's essential that you read his textbook (which he supplies for free) and that you pay attention & participate in class. You'll learn a lot of useful tips! Had him last semester & did well b/c I was willing to work hard.

Honestly...Prof. C is a great professor. Yeah its not an easy class because he doesn't take the BS from students who think they are just going to attend class and thats it. If you don't talk and participate in class then he will make you look like

I thought he was an interesting guy. Lots of good stories to help you understand the course material. I did great on tests and quizzes without even doing the readings because he goes over everything several times in class. Just participate and you'll do fine, otherwise you're screwed.

At first I was intimidated by him and viewed him as cold; but soon grew to appreciate his personality. He does genuinely care about his students, it is just important that he sees that you are genuinely interested in learning. He WILL listen to your opinions, however, don't expect him to agree with everything you say. I thought he was great!

He's one of those professors that really take participation into consideration. As long as there are people paying attention the class runs smoothly. The material isn't boring, he listens to what people have to say & yes for every 1 quest u ask he asks u 5 more in return...overall i enjoyed his class.

he comes off really tough at first but i must say that his class is one of the best i ever took at nassau .......i learned sooooo much in his class.....all you have 2 do to pass is read the book and listen in class. that is a really useful class...i loved it

Extremely hard professor. You have to work VERY hard if you want a good grade. Participation counts toward your grade. Thus, if you're someone who has just finished an ESL course, or is shy and doesn't like to speak, don't take his course. The class was always interesting, though. One of the best classes I've ever taken in my life.

He is very hard and does like to embarrass people for no reason. He tried to do it to me twice. He gives test if the beginning of class if it doesnt look like your parapring yourself for his lesson. He is interesting but just way to hard for my taste.

excellent prof. Very fair grading policy, crystal clear lessons, not too many assignments. Seems to enjoy teaching. Subject matter- com. & listening- should be required. Take his class seriously (and shut up) & it will be well worth your time.

This is a communication class, in other words be quite and listen for once! This professor is straight to the point and if you can not get what he is trying to say then you should try listening!

where to start with this man haha..if u had him you know what i mean.. hes rude and says things you wouldnt believe teachers would say to their students. 5 people walked out first day mid class- i can say ive never seen him crack a smile. he favors pretty grls. textbook is a must. deep down hes a good guy. easy material. ill take him again.

This professor was one of the most interesting professors. I didn't get an A in this class but I will not forget anything he taught me. His lectures are clear and his stories give more examples to the points he's trying to make. If you learn anything from this class, you wont think twice to say he's a bad teacher.

He is not the nicest professor but if you participate in class and he knows your name then its a pretty good sign that you are going to do well in his class. The topics,if you choose to actively learn them, really can help improve relationships.

Of all the professors I ever had I remember him the most. He is passionate about the material and he can come off rude but I took his class 3 years ago and still remember what he taught me and alot of what I learned I use today. Highly recommend.

I believe he means well, but comes across very rudely. Can be very narrow-minded & contradicts himself at times. Very knowledgeable of his field & you will learn much, but assigns unreasonable papers--more than once, falsification & exaggeration rec'd an "A" when hard work & honesty rec'd a "D". Quizzes/Tests are easy if you follow his study guide

Give this guy a chance. Most intelligent COM professor on campus will teach you how to READ PEOPLE. Just gotta take a hint here and there. Do not argue with him, if he gets mad at you just fight with kindness. He's a kind man inside.

A turn off at first but this professor means well. Please attend class prepared! Follow the study guide that is your key. This professor loves dialog, challenge him and he will challenge you don't be afraid.

Comes off very intimidating at first...but if you read the textbook and prepare yourself you should be fine. PARTICIPATE! It's a huge part of your grade and he likes you more if you actually talk. He outlines each chapter for you with what you need to know so just take notes as you read/go through the chapter. Overall good experience.

You have to follow the syllabus reading and be prepared to elaborate on the chapter effectively in class or else he gets really pissed and everyday for the entire semester he'll give you a quiz in class

Awesome professor, PARTICIPATE, do the reading, make flash cards and do the essays and you'll be fine. He actually teachers you awesome life and interaction social skills. He comes off a bit intimidating but it's because he wants the reading done and he wants you to learn, succeed in his class and in life. If you're lazy, don't take his class.

In this Com 101 class you have to do a research paper and make surveys.I really like Professor Coppolino a lot.But other than that research paper everything else I'm his class is great.He really has a soft heart as a Professor he really cares about all his students.Nice class make hard study well and pass him class and smile

I found him to be really funny. He loves to play mind games with you. His quizzes are hard, his exams are good if you study, he gives outlines of the reading, He gives two papers about situations you've handled with your leanings from the class but he grades the papers very harsh. If you're the typical NCC slacker, don't take this class.

Dr. Coppolino is an awesome professor!!He will change your life. Simply SHUT UP and LISTEN!! If you who criticize him would actually do some college level work and study!!You will probably do better and not have to blame him for your failure. Loved his stories. Dr. Coppolino is a fair, consistent professor. He gives you exactly what you need to do well in his class (study guide, handouts). The stories he tells relate well to the material being learned. Great course for anyone, very useful for both business and personal life. Reading and assignments as well as attendance are necessary to do well. So glad I took this course.

You need to show up and be your best self. Do not expect to show up and be entertained, do not expect to just sit there. You are expected to participate, audibly, more than once. He is incredibly observant, he wants you to understand, will call you out on it if you do not, and work with you until you do. He is truly happy to watch you get it. GREAT

Great professor. Very clear and straight to the point. Class isn't as easy as you think but he gives you all the material in a printout given the 1st day. READ READ READ!! and PARTICIPATE. Learned a lot and info was useful. Would def take him again. Any misunderstanding please don't hesitate to ask him. He's helpful to those who are SERIOUS!!

If you do your work and participate as required, you will have no issues. He is very thorough in defining any confusion you might have. Dr Coppolino has the students best interest if the student is even interested.

Worst teacher. Horrible person. Don't take this class he's so boring and rude. If you do take this class he wants feedback on every thing . Ask a lot of questions and know the answers to every thing. He gives a lot of quizzes. Everyone in my class got anywhere from a 20 to a 70 on them.

He is the man. He teaches from his heart. Not only do you learn how to effectively listen but you learn how to live, live effectively. He is so wise and educated, you must be out of your mind or not have a mind if you think anything but postive thoughts about this Doctor.

I took COM 125 in 2011 and I'm writing this review now because I STILL remember what I learned in this class and really appreciated Prof. Coppolino's teaching style- I've even kept in touch with him since then. I truly benefited from the material taught in this class, use it in my professional & personal relationships and the textbook was FREE!

This professor isn't the greatest but he's not the worst. Honestly if you sit in the front, participate and go to him for help, you should be fine. He's pretty strict.

Prof. Coppolino was one of the best profs I've ever had. I graduated a year ago and just had to write a review. I took him for COM 222 and 125 and still use what he taught in my life. Extremely intelligent and taught like he actually loved his job. He's got a tough love attitude that pushes you to be your best self in and outside of class.

Great professor. Learned many valuable skills in his class, caring of his students. Not completely clear at the beginning of some lessons, but overall his lectures are extremely interesting

If you want to take a course which will benefit you throughout your life, take Dr. Coppelino's Listening class. The book is free. All you have to do is read it, listen and take an active part of the class. That means asking questions and preparing before each class. He's fair and clear.
