Real nice guy, makes many good jokes, and takes the time to go over any problems the students have. Tests are easy as long as you study his pretest which is similiar to the one he gives in class.

He's a great teacher! Just as long as you do your homework and study you'll do just fine. He gives study guides before the exam, so take advantage of that because it's exactly like the exam, but in different numbers.

This guy is a trip. Funny as hell, gives extra credit like giving kids candy, and drops one of your exams. Wonderful Teacher! Algebra is my most difficult subject & I received an "A" in his class! He is extremely funny, yet very helpful. He does move quite fast, but if you tell him then he will definitely slow down and explain the problem quite thoroughly! Great guy, great teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

My third math teacher and by far the best and easiest. Offers lots of extra credit and drops your lowest test and quizzes. He's entertaining too.

I honestly hated math but when I took his class, it was so easy that I managed to get an A. Just take notes in class, pay attention and do the BOOK WORK. I swear, just do ALL the work and you'll get an A. His accent might be weird but he explains everything well. He's the type of teacher that is extremely concise and simple. Can't wait 'til math35.

Took him for MAT-35 also. He moves fast and doesn't always use class time effectively. If the class doesn't want to ask questions he will move on. But.. Great teacher. Took him for Elementary Algebra and now I'm in his intermediate. He really wants you to PASS! Extra credit is given when you turn homework in early and he gives you a study guide that is EXACTLY what the test is, just different numbers. I'm awful at math but he gives me a lot of hope. If you make the effort, you will pass.

Now attend USC and can say he is a better professor than the ones here. He taught me well and I appreciate it.

I have taken him for Math 35 and Math 11 as long as you go to class, and go over his study guides you will ace the class.

His class is not hard at all. If you practice the study guide you'll ace the test. I have gotten 2 perfect scores on the test. you have to understand the concept on how to do the problemand once you do it's simple. Take notes, do the homework, and practice the study guide. He does have an accent. He's pretty hilarious at time. I enjoyed his class.

Awesome professor, I took him because my friend recommended him. He's hilairious, well teaching, and know how to make the class have a good time and learn. I do say though try not to miss class if your not good at reading a math nbook or else youll have a tough time. All in all I wanna take him for college algebra no doubt.

He's a great professor!! i took him for winter semester and i enjoyed his class! He's very helpful and explains the subject very well. I recommend taking his class :)

Deguzman is a good teacher for me he only has 4 test inculding the final will give you EC just for turning your homework early he is a bit fast for pple who learn more slowly his test are multiple choice he gives you a study guide ahead of time and his actual test is the same as the study guide expect different numbers good way to pass the Math :)

A great teacher to talk to, but do your homework, study, and put in effort to your time. Then you'll pass this class. Its not whether its difficult, but If you try hard everyday its what counts toward passing this class. The test are challenging, so you MUST pay careful attention on the types of steps in equations/expressions.

He's a great teacher but can also be sarcastic and can be rude sometimes. He gives extra credit if you turning homework a class early, so do it, it really helps your grade. Just do your homework and study for tests and guaranteed you'll pass. He let's you miss the last test only if you get good grades on your first ones. Just be careful.

Yes! i knew i was in good hands the first day i was in this class. I suck at Math, but i got a little better since i started this class. I hated Math, but now i love it because he is always there to assist me, though he has an accent. I never had an A in my Math classes, but i currently have an A now. Thanks for changing my perception about Math!!!

Great math teacher. He's a super funny guy and makes long math classes easy to sit through. There is plenty of homework, but if you do it, you'll pass the class. Homework is do at each of the 4 tests (4th being the final). Ask questions, show up to class, do all your homework on time, and you can get an easy B or A.

He is a funny teacher. He offers lots of extra credit. There is homework due by every test. It's not that hard to pass the class or to get an A.

Pretty chill. If you understand math well it shouldn't be too hard. Otherwise go to tutoring for extra help. Group quizzes and he lets class out early. If you do the homework the tests and quizzes is a piece of cake.

Honestly, if you fail his class you're not trying hard enough. He gives you extra credit for turning in your homework early, and he also gives all of the quizzes in groups, PLUS he drops your lowest exam score. Do the study guides! He does lecture fast, but as long as you turn in all your hw for extra credit and ACE your group quizzes you'll pass.

I am taking this professor for math 35 now. He is very clear on his grading and gives you the homework way before you need to turn it in, so you have more than enough time to get to work. It's even possible to finish his homework a few days before you turn it in. Goes over problems if you don't understand them. He is the best math teacher so far!

If I have to take algebra again ill pick him. He will give you the homework at the beginning of the class. My advice is DO them and understand them. And I promise you it will be an easy A.

If you do the homework and turn it in early for extra credit you'll pass the class!! The tests are multiple choice and just need to study and do homework so it won't be difficult. Quizzes are usually in groups, which will give you even more points for your test!

Very indepth lectures that I never found dry or uninteresting due to his personality. His attitude may rub some people the wrong way but if you have thick skin, you ll be fine regardless. Keep up with the lectures, homework, and ask questions. Do that and you ll be fine.

If you don't pass this class, I'm judging. All quizzes are group quizzes. He gives you all future hmwk in advance. He offers XTRA CREDIT so take advantage of it. turn in hmwk early & its XTRA credit. a fast paste of teaching & is very sarcastic. DO YOUR HMWK & you will actually know what is going on in the class. he drops 1 lowest test score.

De Guzman is an amazing professor who makes math easy to understand. He is sarcastic and sometimes students can't tell when he's joking but he makes the class fun. He will show and teach an easier way or a shortcut if one is available. Our class spent alot of time laughing.

BEST MATH TEACHER EVER!!!

I hadn't taken a Math class in about 8 years when I took this class and I was always a C student. I think I need to give partial credit to De Guzman for helping me to build a strong mathematical foundation. I just finished taking Calculus I and I received an 'A'. Work hard in algebra & ask him questions, especially if you need to go far in math.

De Guzman moves at a fast pace. Keep up or get lost. Your choice. I worked hard and got a B and I mean real hard but math is difficult for me.

I have always struggled with math and thanks to Professor DeGuzman I was actually able to pass. Be prepared to pay attention and focus in class since he does move fast. He truly wants you to learn the information so don't be afraid to ask questions. He has some pretty funny jokes too which makes the time move quickly. Highly recommend.

Professor Guzman is greAt. He is funny and blunt and a good teacher. There is a lot of homework . But u will learn. He has a lil accent but he is easy to understand. He acts kinda tough n pretends to not like our ugly faces but really we have grown a affection for each other. Great teacher. Offers extra credit .

This guy be like: "Do you get it? Do you understand? (*crickets*) Very good. (sighs) Now I'm tired - I want to sleep. (sips from Big Gulp)" Half-comedian, half-teacher who gives way too much HW but offers Extra credit for turning in HW early. You must sign in for attendance and he drops the lowest of 3 exams (excluding final).

He is a good prof, his class is always fun. Although this class comes with tons of homework, he also gives you extra credit. the quizzes are all group quizzes and open book. He gave 3 closed-book exams but drop one which is the lowest grade. I got an A+ with 102%. Recommended!

Took the class during the Winter semester. He covers so many sections in a short period of time but as long as you turn in your homework before the test to get the extra credit you will do good. He will drop your lowest test score. Overall he's a great professor.

Professor De Guzman is a really great instructor. I took him for Math 35 and Math 11. He gives a fair amount of HW but offers extra credit if you turn it in early. He drops your lowest test grade out of the 3 test given. If you have any questions he's more then willing to help you. Funny sense of humor. I will miss having him as my Professor.

I took MAT10 with Prof DeGuzman over the summer and let me tell you, do not waste your time taking it in the Fall or Spring! I was very fearful due to the fast pace. Although it is self-paced and self-taught, Prof gives you all the materials you need in order to succeed! He is there when you need it and replies quickly! Highly recommended!!

I took profesor Guzmán summer of 2021. Which we know is an accelerated class already. As long as you keep up, you will be fine. He answers all questions and gives extensions for HW if emailed at an adequate time. He will also answer small questions through zoom. Very caring about his students.

I took him for mat12(statistic). I would say please take him for summer don't waste your time doing it for a dull term. You would have to do the work by yourself. He is very caring and understanding. I would recommend this class to anyone! (:

Professor DeGuzman's class was a hybrid. He went over each section in class so that students had a chance to see the problems worked through and ask questions. He unlocked modules for me when I got ahead. Enjoyed his class and looking forward to taking him again for Statistics in the Fall.

His course is great if you want to self pace. Will unlock future modules if you get ahead. Always available if you have questions. Took him for Math 12 (Statistics) and also for Math 9 (College Algebra). Highly recommend if you need flexibility.

stats was ALL ASYNCHRONOUS all online, all the homework, all quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final was all done on Pearson mystatslab. he doesn't have any other assignments or tests besides things on Pearson. you have to teach yourself but everything is done at your own pace which is nice. i love these types of courses, easy A. multiple tries on hw, tests

Great professor, class is mandatory but allows up to 4 absences but after that you will be dropped. Is heavy on notes but mostly focuses on online work. Online work is super time consuming but overall easy and manageable.

super chill and funny. work was self paced for the most part and completely online, you just gotta go in person for lectures which weren't that bad considering they ended a few hours early which was great!! only thing that kinda got on my nerves was that you HAD to buy the online textbook to actually do your work but I mean, it's a math class.

Took online stats with him, it was just one of those prefab-pearson classes. Nothing was made by him but it was easy to crunch the entire 6 week semester down to 5 days since he opens the class all at once.

Mr. DeGuzman was a great teacher. My Statistics class was all online through Pearson (was free for two weeks). He replied to emails very quick and extremely helpful for the problems and questions I had regarding my math. You have to teach yourself, but Mr. Deguzman opens everything and has them all due at the end of the semester. I would recommend.

Professor DeGuzman's MAT12 class is a great self-paced option. Use unstuckstudy ai and the textbook to teach yourself, with the professor available for questions. Manageable workload for an easy A.
