Ok so i took him for both enc1101 and 1102 he is an amazing professor and i recommend him to everyone. He is a bit funny, he loves talking about his cat, he get side track sometimes but overall he is a great and understanding professor. His assignments are really easy and there's no way you can fail his class unless you just stop showing up really.

I took him for ENC 1101 and ENC 1102. He was amazing both times. He is a great professor really there for his students. You will get an A in his class. He is sarcastic so be ware if you are not use to it. He gives out 7 papers supper easy as long as you do the work you will pass. He never gives C's.

I took him for an 8 am class and he made it so easy to stay awake. I couldn't wait to get there. He really works with you as far as your grades. All that matters to him is that you can write well!

Prof Dewey is awesome. I haven't been in school in over 6 years. He deff made me a better writer for sure! He's clear on what he wants and responds to emails super quick. If you show effort he will always work with you. Attendance is pretty important, because its a grade. He's super funny, a little weird, but I learned a lot!

Dr Dewey is a great Professor. He is very fair. He is very jovial. He is knowledgeable I learnt a lot from him. He wants everyone to succeed. If you put in the work and show him that you care about what you are doing, you will pass his class. He is absolutely one of the best at BC.

Dr Dewey, is awesome. I took 1101 with him and I decided to take 1102 again with him (even if it was a night class). He is super helpful, intelligent and he wants everyone to suceed. I really enjoy having a class with him. So far, one of the greatest professors I ever had.

I enjoyed his class and his writing assignments. He is not an easy grader but he gives enough work to make up for any low grades you might have. Power points are easy to understand. Write/ set up your essays based off of what you learned in class. You will do mandatory group writing (not as bad as it sounds). Great personality! 10/10

Awesome English teacher. Took him a summer mini term. He was my first morning class, I never was late because of how engaged he made us. He uses relate able topics. Super sarcastic. You'll probably laugh several times a class. He has SO much personality. Encouraged group collaboration, even on midterm AND final. Showing is extra credit. TAKE HIM!!

He is AMAZING. Dr. Dewey tells you exactly what he expects from you. He made 3 hour 8AM Friday class fun because he kept us laughing the whole time. He is a tough grader but only because he truly wants everyone to improve. I will be taking him again for ENC1102

Dr. Dewey is a funny teacher, but be prepared to do a lot of work. He assigns a lot of papers and is very specific to what he likes. He also grades differently so sometimes there's a curve. However, he rewards a lot of extra credit so if you miss one paper, your attendance points and extra credit can make up for it in the end.

Best professor ever. You don't have to take notes, he rather you take pictures. The whole class can work together or choose who they want to work with for the final and midterm. You don't need any supplies but a pen or pencils. He makes learning fun and his assignments are EASY. TAKE HIS CLASS TRUST ME. I had him for ENC 1101 and ENC 1102.

Just finished ENC 1102 with him because ENC1101 went so well. He tells you exactly what he expects from you. He might be a little harsh but you will come out a better writer. THE BEST PART IS NO TEXT BOOK! Just take good notes of his lectures and you are set. Dr. Dewey is the best professor in BC and I am so glad I got to experience his teaching

Dr. Dewey will probably be one of, if not the, best teacher you will take at BC. He is so funny, he will keep you awake even if you take an 8AM class like myself. His papers are very straightforward and if you follow EXACTLY what he says to do for the writing assignments you will get a 100 on all of them. I took him for both ENC1101/02.

Has a curving scale which makes it almost impossible to fail unless you never show up. TREAT HIS POWERPOINTS LIKE A BIBLE

Dr. Dewey is a great professor who actually made me realize what makes a good paper and what does not. He gives a good amount of papers but they are focused on content not word-count. If you like dirty jokes he is the guy for you. He will poke fun at you sometimes (never mean or disrespectful). Also, the final is done in groups what else can I say.

Hands down my favorite professor in my college career. Only take him if you're ready to work and seriously want to become a QUALITY writer- no easy A's over here. He tells you exactly what he expects in each paper, so you're never lost. I loved that I could send him my drafts and he would tell me what to work on. He's hilarious and full of quirks.

Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but you will miss a lot of material.

Prof. Dewey was an amazing teacher! From the first day, he was already making jokes and just being a laid-back, casual type of guy. He's super easy to talk to, he lets you give him essay drafts to show you what to improve before you turn in the actual essay, and his lectures are entertaining while still being informative. I would def take him again

honestly he is so straight-forward that its really hard to not pass. he has a strict writing style, like any class you need 2 follow directions. you have to attend class to pass and he grades based on the style he wants you to use so just follow it and you will be fine. has a weird midterm tho ngl. Overall he is so funny and provides constant help

Hes an amazing teacher, i really enjoyed his class he taught well and gave good feedback. He really cares as a teacher and wants to see you pass so he makes the class easy and gives a lot of chances to get points and get out of the final. Dr. Dewey is an amazing teacher!. He is tough but approachable. He gives multiple opportunities to receive extra credit and goes out of his way to help struggling students. More than just a comp instructor Dr. Dewey is the greatest teacher I've ever had, and likely will ever have. He looks at sentences and paragraphs like Michelangelo must have looked at sculptures and paintings. Dewey's class is not easy, but if you pay attention you'll come out the other side a better writer and a better person.

Dr. Dewey was a great professor even though he was a tough grader. He has you write his way which was not that difficult but his way was time consuming and annoying. He pinpoints every mistake. Pay attention in EVERY class. My overall experience was great! He gives you chances to receive a better grade. Getting an A is doable, just rare.

Dr. Dewey was an amazing teacher to have for 1101. He will change your entire writing process around and force you to be a better writer. His critique's can be pretty harsh but he truly cares for your growth. He's hilarious and has the mouth of a sailor, but the kind of sailor you'd want to have at the family dinner table.

Professor wants you to become a better and more effective writer. He tries to give clear instructions but they are sometimes hard to understand. He is sarcastic but do not be afraid to ask questions, it will clear up misunderstandings and help you improve. He does not give an overload of assignments and none of them are pointless. I can honestly say he is one of my favorite professors from BC. I see a lot of students comment he is unapproachable and intimidating but he's actually the opposite. He's very straightforward with the type of essays he is looking for, the formatting is exactly how universities expect you to write. Its not a hard course unless you make it hard.

Professor Dewey was one of the best ENC professors Ive had. But, the class was difficult. Even though it was difficult, he really tries to help you understand. You also need to have great time management. Dont write your papers the night before. You can ask him for feedback that helps your grade. Because of him, I have become a stronger writer.

Dark Humor! He was my first professor My first year of college and boom covid! He teaches very well in a manner you can relate. He gives several opportunities to submit and redo redo redo correctly take advantage and get as much feedback! He was a great professor over all. I was not the best student but Dewey cares about his students & really wants you to succeed. He funny and will tell you how he walks his cat. He will level with you if you need to turn in late assignments. There's a handful of writing assignments & attendance is mandatory, he likes to playful pick at his students. Will put you in group work. FUN!

One of the best English professors at BC. Dr. Dewey utilizes entertaining PowerPoints as notes. Ensure you video record the classes or at least take pictures. He provides opportunities for extra credit. My only regret is that I wasn't in his ENC1101 class.

This class has made me a better writer. Dr. Dewey genuinely cares that you learn and gives people every opportunity to bring up their grade. You do have to show up to every class, but his lectures are funny and attention grabbing. The midterm is difficult, but even if you get a bad grade you can get an A. I would for sure take his class again.

Dr. Dewey is a pretty good teacher. Attendance is important, classwork makes a big part of the grade. Assignments have many requirements and you have to take pictures of his presentations. However, he's not **too** strict with them, so you have a bit of leeway. If you do well, he can let you skip the midterm, final, and final project.
