Great guy, hard class. He made lectures interesting and had a good sense of humor. Quizzes everyday so you have to go to class. Tests are hard so make sure you understand whats going on.

It's easy to pass this class if you are willing to go to every single class because there are daily quizzes (which make up 26% of the course grade). There were only two exams and no final. But, the tests were pretty tough. You have to know what's going on in the class to pass the tests. Pay attention to the in-class problems and READ THE TEXTBOOK!

He's tough but he's great! Ask questions and he will help! Only two tests so the rest is important too! put in the work and he'll recognize it!

Dulin is the best. His tests are tough but if you go to class and do your reading/homework you'll do well, also just get to know him and he will be very willing to help you! Also, he keeps class entertaining because he's hilarious.

If you're taking him for Managerial Acct you need to do WELL on your quizzes. They're the difference between pass and fail. It's a hard class but getting an A is achievable if you study and get full credit on all homework, attendance, and reading quizzes, which isn't that hard. It's mainly just being disciplined and not missing them.

Although he is a hard ass, Dulin is a good teacher. He uses the "been there done that" mentality a lot, but he knows what he is talking about and helps you out with the special quiz and quiz bonuses. If you read the book and study the book powerpoints for the tests, you'll be fine. Also, he uses test banks for the quizzes and tests.

Tough professor and isn't lenient. However, if you read the textbook and slides, go to class, and work through the practice problems then the quizzes and tests aren't that hard. Gives small amount of extra credit. He's very sarcastic and makes jokes in class that might not seem like a joke at first. Good class he just makes you work for it.

Dulin makes you earn your grade, but he is completely fair. As long as you read the text book and work the problems, you should do fine. He may come across as a jerk at first, but you soon learn it's just that he takes the class seriously. Make sure to do well on the quizzes! Exams are tough if you don't understand the material, easy if you do.

I did terrible in financial accounting but this class was a lot easier for me, and I think it had a lot to do with professor Dulin. He's really easy to reach outside of class and if you have something weird come up on a quiz day he will typically let you take it in his office. He also gives an extra credit assignment that bumped me from 85 to a 91

The homework given in this class are just like the tests but you may have to find a couple more numbers on the test to find the right solution. Examples are given in class which really help. Study for each test and make sure you know the process of each thing you learn not just finding numbers and you will be okay in this class. Tough class.

Honestly overall Dulin is fair and transparent with his grading and the opportunities you have to earn points. You should actually do the homework and the quizzes will come easy also make the tests bearable. Dulin noticed i went to class everyday (even though attendance isn't mandatory) and he ended up rounding my grade when he did't have to.

Professor Dulin gets a bad rep but if you put in the time to actually learn the material he is super nice and wants you to succeed. He has an interesting sense of humor but honestly really loves his jobs and is extremely knowledgeable about accoutning!!

Joe Dulin is a great accountant. His teaching style may not be liked by everyone, but it worked great for me. He works part of the homework or similar problems with different numbers in class. Homework is weighted pretty heavily. I worked hard and got an A+. His sense of humor won't apply to everyone, but I thought he was funny. Would recommend.

If you attend class, Dulin will tell you what practice problems are on the exam. He is fair even though he can act like he's not. If you need help, he will sit down with you and explain everything. If you can do all the practice problems without help, you can do the exam. 1st and 3rd exams are the hard once; makes 2nd and final super easy.

Dulin is fantastic! There is a lot of homework and it's very important to attend all of his lectures. Constantly draws comparisons to real-world examples which personally helped me understand the material better. Go to his office hours and sit as close to the front as possible so you become a familiar face to him. Hard class but he's very fair!

Professor Dulin is a really great professor! He tends to be quite blunt, but he teaches really well! And he acknowledges when he doesn't teach a subject well by curving some tests. Make sure you give the homework your all, and you should do very well in the class!

Dulin has a pretty bad rep, but I thoroughly enjoyed his class. The content was tough, but his teaching was excellent. He can be harsh if you get the wrong answer and he won't give you any grades, but he works on homeworks in class and the exams are straight from the homework.

Take this class. Dulin truly does care for his students and wants them to succeed in his class. The key to making A's on all his tests is practicing the homework. What he says about the tests are true, so prepare accordingly. Expect lots of little connect assignments due before class.

Dulin is cool, he let me borrow a book the semester before i took his class so i could get a head start. not a hard class if you pay attention and use the TA's. The tests aren't worth a ton of points so its not the end of the world if you do bad on one. He doesnt sugar coat anything. Good class if you are willing to work a little bit

He is rough around the edges but really smart & deep down does care about students. The class is tough, but he does a great job of working thru a majority of homework in class. The first test is hard, but the second is extremely easy. One homework assignment is worth half of a test, so if you do good on the homework it can make up for a test grade.

Dulin does the homework in class but tended to leave long/hard problems for you to do on your own. He was really helpful when emailing with me. I thought i was going to get an A but then the final killed my grade.

I took Dulin for cost accounting which was originally supposed to be in person. When the course got moved online because of the pandemic, Dulin did a really great job outlining what was expected and how to succeed. He works through practice problems during class and is always available to help.

He's an experienced accountant so his class is pretty difficult. It can be overwhelming but he is actually pretty helpful and understanding if you're actually willing to talk to him. He is a tough critic and will make you figure out some things on you're own. Describes himself as brain dead sometimes so at least he has a sense of humor.

Dulin is a great professor. The negative comments, I don't really understand. I have no one to blame for my grade by me. Extremely helpful. I don't always click with his teaching. But he's extremely organized and sets you up for success. Last part is your effort. Great teacher. It's refreshing to have a professor who expects a lot from you!

I have never had a professor so passionate about financial reporting and accounting. Professor Dulin made class extremely entertaining. I was always excited to go to this class. The class was challenging but most people get A's.

He is a very straightforward guy and tells it like it is. A phenomenal lecturer, you can really tell he knows what hes teaching & is very passionate about his job. He truly cares about the success of his student so he wont let you put in little effort and expect high rewards. It wont be an easy class but you will learn a lot because of it.

Professor Dulin is great at what he does. He loves accounting but does NOT like slackers or students who do not care about their work. He has daily participation and he counts that as "BONUS" it's 1-3 questions, if he repeats himself it is probably a quiz question. If you study and work hard it will be easy. Easiest class I've ever taken. If people put the slightest bit of effort into the class instead of copying each other, on PRACTICES nonetheless, they would have gotten the grade they wanted. In the real world not knowing this stuff can get you put in prison or worse. Some of you are going to have a rough time in upper-division courses.

In regards to Professor Dulin, sure he can be harsh, but deep down he cares and is just trying to prepare us for the real world. After a chat with him, I learned how much he cares about his students and he wants to see us all succeed. Stop being so petty.

I didn't like him at first because I thought he was arrogant but he does care about his students and wants them to do good. Exams are similar to practice exams, expect a reading quiz everyday (usually 2 questions that are easy) This class really requires you to practice if you want to do good. I don't like to get bad grades but the effort I put into this class reflects it pretty well. First test; didn't study as much as I should've so I got a bad grade. After, I put more effort into it = good

Joe Dulin is a great professor, everything we go over in class is on exams and the practice exams on connect are SO HELPFUL. He can be really funny at times too, he cares. The subject is hard so be prepared to be challenged.

Professor Dulin taught my graduate online advanced accounting class, and I can't say enough kind things about him. There were times that I wanted to give up on grad school, and his kindness helped me decide to continue pursuing my master's degree. I learned a lot in this course, and I'd happily take another course he instructed.

Joe Dulin is the goat. I was worried after reading some of the past reviews but it is clear that whoever wrote those just sucks. You'll have a daily in class quiz, they are easy and its free points. Dulin is a super nice guy and a great prof just go to class and pay attention. He gives you everything you need to do well and he wants you to succeed.

Professor Dulin was my favorite. Out of all the professors I've had at OU, he wanted the best for his students the most and trained us as if we were in the real world. I preferred Dulin to Kern because he moved at a faster pace and focused on the areas I viewed as more difficult. It's definitely a which teaching style works best for you. He's a funny mix of no non-sense but will also throw leis at you before he goes to St Lucia for spring break. Accounting is hard but I think he teaches it well.

This guy is misunderstood. He is a genius, makes lectures super entertaining, and will single-handedly get you a job if you need one. He's tough, but so is the CPA exam, so buckle up or leave. One midterm and one final, with one short hw and quiz every week. A two question quiz every day for attendance. If you don't like him, you're soft!
