He's very enthusiastic and excited about anatomy, but doesn't seem to understand how difficult it is for students who've never taken it. He has a PhD and knows it like the back of his hand, seems to expect the same. Tests are all essay/short answer, be prepared to recite the text virtually verbatum or he knocks points off. Good luck!

I like Dr. Ezz. I think he is very willing to help if you ask for it. His exams are on par with university level exams. In fact, I think he even made them a bit easier because he felt sorry for some of the students. The class involves A LOT of memorization. But that is how any anatomy class is. Take anatomy with Dr. Ezz. You won't regret it!

Nice guy, very helpful and definitely knows his subject. Tests are all essay/short answer but that's how it is with all Bio 201 teachers. Definitely take him if you can, he's very cool. And easy on the eyes.

This professor is really cool...his class can be hard to pass though, because even though studying is fun test time he means business. Even if you mess up in the class though, everybody still seems to like him. It doesn't hurt that he's good looking as well.

One of my best proffesors! Physiology is a tough subject with whoever you take it with, but if your willing to work he will help you with whatever you need help with. His lectures are clear and precise, and never makes you feel stupid. He really prepared me for the nursing program and I enjoyed his class. He's also totally hot.

Great teacher. Very clear! Exams based strictly on lecture. Awesome curve! Definetly recommend! You do have to study but he condenses each chapter down to basics in his handouts and thats all you study.

Easy class for being a Physiology class. Never open my textbook not even once. Labs were easy to understand. The easiest points you can get is on his lab quiz so make sure you study. All you need is the notes he provides you with and you'll be fine. The only thing I did not like was that his tests were mostly true and false questions.

Dr. Ezzeddine is very intelligent, but his class is so hard. Physiology is a hard subject period, but I'm having a lot of trouble with this class. He makes you feel like you should already know the material and we're just reviewing it when it's the first time we've seen the material. All his tests are true/false and short answer.

Dr. E is cool. He is very sarcastic, which can be funny and annoying, but it's all good. He is crystal clear, and makes things very easy. His lab is what you make out of it, if you take the time you have in the lab, by studying, you should be fine. Don't sit with a lazy group. Trust me! He clears up a lot of things from Sullivan's Lecture.

Dr Ezzedine is sooo cool and funny! He's a younger professor so his teaching style is really upbeat and fun. Although I did not like physiology itself, he made the material really interesting and fun to learn. Explains concepts really well, and his accent is attractive!!

Hes a good teacher he explains the subject. He makes sure you understand the subject, he can be a little mean if your late but hes fun. I took him for anatomy.

He is always there to help and answer any question. Never does he make you feel unable to pass the class. It is alot to know, but he makes it understandable. Don't memorize but understand how things work and why.

Soooo, physiology is definitely a tough course. You cannot miss a beat otherwise you will find yourself out of sync the rest of the semester. Dr. Ezzeddine is very good at making sure his students are still in tune to the beat. If you need extra help, he will not hesitate to give you that help during his office hours. Great professor and great guy.

Great teacher. Took him for 100, 201, and 202.Bio 100 was easy but 201 was hard and 202 was harder. Put the time into it and you will do well. He is always willing to help.

Anatomy is a tough class- period. Esdin is a great prof, very straight forward; one of the best in regards to science profs. (Avoid Prof Sullivan!)

Very Good teacher but every point counts in this class!! Show up to every class and study the material. His tests are hard but he tests off his lecture notes. Dont slack on studying and your sure to get an A or B. But if you miss class and dont study well YOUR SCREWED!! He will not bump you a grade either you get what you get. Got a 79.3 and a C

Expect to put in work. Very clear, provides concise notes and his lectures are exactly what shows up on his exams. Truthfully, you don't require the textbook however you must rely heavily on what is reviewed in class thus attendance is vital. The best teacher I have ever had at AVC. He is kind and very handsome, he is an easy grader. The key is to understand what he is teaching not just to memorize it like in anatomy. Take his lab quizzes seriously there's 15 of them, a 10pg endocrinology paper, and 4 100pt tests, and some extra credit opportunities.

Study his handouts, and know them by word. Write everything he says in lab. Even better. Audio record the lab instruction. And study that cause a lot of lab quizzes are based off of this. Overall great professor, he will play some jokes on you but its funny :)

I loved going to lab with him as my teacher, he motivates students and has a great sense of humor. Bio is mainly memorizing, but the way he teaches, you learn it and do not forget. Cant wait to take him again.

Dr. Esdin is a great lab instructor. He's probably the best teacher to take for lab because he's super laid back, but he still a good enough teacher for you to retain the information. Also, he's ridiculously hot.

Fun teacher, HARD class, SI will save you! Tests are challenging, and it's never for sure what will be on them-you just have to know everything. The research paper is no joke, hit library early for books. Most laid back lab of any Bio class I have ever taken. Dr. E is positive and totally non-threatening. You'll cry and have fun too.

Received a C without much effort, only studied once. There are many quizzes in lab that are easy. The test are much more difficult and he doesn't give half credit, even if half the answer is right. He's always willing to help and is pretty hilarious. The final paper was a joke. Planning on retaking it (need a better grade - better study) with him.

This professor is one of the best professors ever. He provides every kind of material there is to not only pass his class but to get a good grade. There is no such thing as a supid question. He replies to all questions through emails right away. He'll let you know if you're struggling and will give you ideas on how to improve your study habits.

I had the pleasure of having Dr. Esdin for Human Physiology during the summer of 2014. He is a wonderful professor and very crystal clear in his lectures. He teaches the same material to UCLA students (as he is also a professor there) and tests are the same as well.

Physiology is a hard class, you have to memorize the entire material. should go to SI if you want to pass, it will help you a lot. he gives lots of extra credit at the end of the semester. This class was hard and requires a lot of attention. Dr Esdin is a great professor and will help you BUT you need to take the initiative. SI is a great help. He is a great teacher. He answers emails within a day. Taking it online was tough because all the work of teacher falls on the student. It was a lot of reading and fortunately the podcasts of his on campus lectures helps to understand the material. Tests are mostly multiple choice with a few essay questions. Still a very challenging class.

Dr. Esdin's class was challenging. It was not ridiculously hard, but he makes you work for your grade. Everyone who has taken anatomy, micro or phys know that these classes are not easy to pass. If you are thinking or are going to take Dr. Esdin be ready to study and dedicate MOST of your time to this class & if u do so, you will be rewarded.

I took Esdin because I failed phys the first time I took it (with another teacher), and it was over intercession. This class was a breeze compared to the first time around but I heard that Esdin is much more difficult in the reg. semesters. Tests were all multiple choice and pretty simple. 10 page paper at the end but easy grader. Would recommend.

I had him back when he was named Yusef Ezzedin. I am currently an RN and this professor started my passion for physiology. He always took the time to answer all my questions during and after class, even questions that were not necessary for tests. Going in, I'd been dreading physiology but he made it very interesting, clear instructions, got an A!

He was a great teacher for Biology Lab, attendance and being on time is mandatory. He gives a quiz within the first 10 mins of class, and if you aren't there, u cannot take it. He is very thorough and gives a clear concept of the material. He knows his stuff. Make sure you pay attention on what he writes on the board, and the lab, he quizzes on it

Awesome Professor. I took him for anatomy and he is very straight forward. I recommend you study the lectures papers he gives because the test will be on that, plus whatever was spoken in class. I find him to be funny so class was not a snooze for me. Also if you hear him repeatedly say something(whether in lec ir lab) it will be on test.

This will be the first class where you actually read through the whole textbook. Make sure you understand the important stuff; he will point out which this is. He "dumbs" down the content but ultimately you are tested on a very detailed oriented textbook. Very hard class especially during summer.

Dr. Esdin is one of the best professors at AVC. He's an amazing teacher and makes the material understandable. The book wasn't required but some used it for studying. Four tests and about 6 lab quizzes based on previous labs. The class is hard, you need to study to pass and you need to understand the material. He truly cares and is willing to help.

Make sure to pay attention to his lectures , understand all the details don't just memorize . first of all, I took his online class for phys. class was a easy A and I give credit to his SI Rabika. She def helped me get an A by giving us the answers for online test!! Dont miss her SI sessions, got the answers everytime for test and quizzes!!. Didnt read the book and got an A!!! Take esdin if you just wana pass

His voice definitely makes he podcasts easy to listen to. Hes very sweet, likes questions. You should be prepared before class because he will call on you. His syllabus isnt very throurough but expects you to understand. His SI was very helpful and mandatory for me. Take advantage of it ! Gives a long paper to write on a subject he chooses. Read!

I took professor Esdin for online physiology. We didnt meet as much to go over the material so I was lost at first but then I ended up going to his SI. Now believe me his SI is amazing. Her brain is like a machine shes so knowledgeable and helpful. She would help prepare us for tests and quizzes. She totally helped me get that A.

I just took his online class this summer. Hes a great teacher. Time management is really important. The lab are killers so dont fall behind and dont struggle alone go to his SI. Shes a gem she legit goes along with you. Shes amazing sometimes shed work out of her schedule and meet up at other times for our convenience which meant a lot.

I communicated with him through email a lot and his turn around time was very well executed. The textbook is used and podcasts are very important to listen to and understand the material. SI was a huge factor for me and definitely helped me get the grade I earned. It's not an easy course but definitely not impossible to get an A. Do all the work!

Very smart professor with an even better choice of SI. His SI is so helpful, she literally understands the struggle, she helped us out and worked around her schedule even though shes in nursing program and i bet its tough. Legit the nicest human being Ive ever met. Go to her and you wont regret! I couldnt have passed this class without her.

Took Esdin for online physiology during the summer. The class was very textbook-oriented so as long as you do your part in keeping up with the reading, you'll be perfectly fine. Let's begin with this class wasn't originally online but due to the virus it was. Dr. Esdin is amazing at what he does, the lectures are interesting and engaging. You have lab quizzes, canvas assignments, 4 exams and a paper. Dr. E cares if you pass or not and is SUPER helpful if you just reach out. Science is a tough subject but I say TAKE HIM!

I was in his spring 2020 class and when the virus hit he was very understanding! He made sure we always understood the lectures. About 7 lab quizzes that you take at the beginning of class, 4 exams, and 1 paper. As long as you pay attention and study you can pass with an A or B. He's an amazing teacher, I highly recommend you take him.

Dr. Esdin is by far one of the most amazing professors I've every had throughout my entire college career. He is a very caring individual and he wants you to pass his class. End of the day, he is a great professor. He will memorize your name & know if you miss class, so don't. I overcame with self study but don't recommend. He's pretty sassy when you do miss. His lectures are where it's at. Pay close attention and yes, he's speaking truth when he says you will need to understand the material and not just repeat it.

I really learned a lot in this class and felt challenged but felt the class was fair. You get what you put into it. Take good notes, find a study group, relisten to lectures and get a tutor! I am a very visual learner so that was a challenge as he is more powerpoint heavy but you have all the tools to succeed in this class.

Dr Esdin is an amazing, passionate, caring professor. Not only does he teach well but he really wants you to understand and will help you do well. This is not an easy class. You have to put the work in and study. He goes above and beyond to help you do your best but you have to do your part and work for it.

Dr. Esdin is a great professor I would recommend him. I took him for anatomy and I had to work for my grade with a lot of studying. 6 lecture tests and 3 lab tests. No homework but you need to study. The class is very interesting so I would recommend it.

Professor Esdin was a great professor. Make sure you look back to his study guides because they are very accurate to what's on the tests. The quizzes aren't worth much but they do add up over time so give yourself some time to study for the lab quizzes. The paper was okay, it's just lots of information to include so give yourself time for it!

Hands down the best biology professor I've taken at AVC. Every professor is different, but he's clear, very nice, and very fair with regards to grading. There are lots of assignments and homework, but they do add up in points so make sure that you keep up. There's no reason to take anyone else if you have the option to take him. Highly recommended.

Biology professor Esdin teaches the human physiology too quick lectures concepts. Does not let students to express or ask questions in class. He skims and rushes to get across lecture slides. Leaves students confuse on the human physiology concepts.

I took him just this Fall 2024 and he was the best professor I could have gone with. Don't know what others are talking about as his study guides show EXACTLY what will be on the exam. There are six exams, one paper, homework assignments, physioex assignments and the lab quizzes. exams are fairly easy; mix of mult. choice,free response, & t/f ques.

Please know everyone learns with professors differently but from my experience he is a knowledgeable professor. Yes, his tests were confusing multiple choice wise and free response came easy to me, but you SHOULD learn don't memorize. Dedicate your time to this class and put in the effort to receive the best grade possible.

Took his class over the summer & found him to be reasonable, witty, and knowledgeable. Felt he truly wanted the best outcomes for us. Study independently & watch the lecture videos in addition to in-person lecture to do well. Try to fully understand the concepts (not memorize) or the exams will be confusing/difficult. Start the research pp. ASAP.

Esdin is polite, funny, and a little sarcastic-don't take it personally. Lectures are dense and fast, so rewatching helps a lot. Small details show up on exams. Class is mostly lecture + exams with study guides and one easy paper. Great teacher if you keep up and study. Ask questions and try hard from the start; there isn't a lot of wiggle room.

Friendly, funny, and helpful. Let us work independently but was always available to help. Lecture videos were great and detailed. Most points came from lecture and lab exams, which had clear straightforward study guides. Getting an A just took effort, as everything needed for success was provided.Not an ideal class if you need a lot of handholding.

I took the online lecture/in person lab and enjoyed Physiology because of Dr. Esdin. He is a kind man who is willing to help his students succeed. His exams were fairly reasonable if you study the slides/study guides given. There were some "trick" questions but if you understand the material, you will be fine.

Great professor. Gives explanations & examples if you're actively listening, recording lecture, rewriting your notes and doing the chapter assignments the material will stick and make sense. He doesn't answer questions throughout lecture for good reason, some peoples questions are off topic and will distract and make it harder to get back on topic.
