He presents the material pretty well, but his tests are multiple choice problems crafted like the hardest problems on the homework assignments. Dr. Fadyn was a great teacher. While the class was hard, so is Calculus II in general. He always went over the homework in the beginning of class, and did lots of questions on the material to help. He offers extra credit and a curve at semester's end. If you are going into calculus II, TAKE FADYN!

took him for calc 2. His class is pretty easy if you work and study hard. Don't depend on the extra credit and/or curve to get you through. His tests are okay as long as you understand the material. His last two exams were so very difficult, but this was when the coronavirus caused the university to go online so that might be why

You are graded by 5 parts each worth 20% of the grade. Test 1,2,3,4 and homework. Final is optional and replaces lowest grade out of the 5. Everything was explained into detail on his online lectures! super easy class! notes were allowed on tests! i barely studied and barely watched the lectures. Everything was Super similar to the homework on MML.

I took him for Cal1 and Cal2. Solid professor, good pacing. 4 tests, homework (worth a test) and the OPTIONAL final replaces your lowest one of those five grades. He gave extra credit both semesters and was really fair. If he was teaching Cal 3 in the fall, I would have taken him a 3rd time.

Dr. Fadyn is a very nice professor. His lectures are long but he really knows how to teach the subject in a way that is understandable. This was a summer class so it was very fast paced, make sure you don't fall behind. 4 tests, decent amount of hw, and an optional final. If you're looking for a good calc professor, take him!

Math is hard for me - so any teacher is going to be difficult for me. Not much interaction with the teacher the class was online.

He is a really sweet guy. I liked watching his lectures, they were helpful. His extra practice homework helped too. Only four tests. This was hard because it was an online class, I think he would be better in person. This class uses ALEKS which is difficult. No extra credit. He did drop our lowest homework grade which was nice.

He's a really nice guy and is pretty easy to talk to outside of class if you have a specific question. The textbook is useless and his lectures are long and confusing, I just watched other profs on youtube. Pretty heavy homework load and tests are very difficult. Be prepared to make this class your #1 focus for the semester and you'll get through.

I dont know what happened between last semester and this year. but it the complete opposite. Loads of homework and review test consisting of 20+ questions and barely any are on the actual tests. Does not curve on tests. There were problems on the test that werent even reviewed in the lectures/homework .avoid

Don't take him online. All lectures are pre-recorded with pre-written notes that are hard to watch through and the assignments/tests are all computer-graded. Each exam is typically 20 questions (mostly mc) and there is no credit for work shown. From my experience he does not curve or offer extra cred. However, he is very nice and easily accessible.

terrible! do NOT take! he didn't want to give a curve until students emailed him. the tests are hard & they barely match the homework or the practice exams. he was also very snappy about giving back points on exams (which are proctored). he barely offered any additional help besides his 1 office hour on MWF. also, he didn't offer any extra credit.

Calc is already hard enough and taking an online calc class is even harder. Lectures are pre-recorded and he WRITES MATH IN CURSIVE so it's very hard to understand. Tests are proctored with proctor-U with no partial credit and no credit for work shown. He does not curve and gives no extra credit. Everything is computer graded. DO NOT TAKE HIM.

Took his online Precalculus. As with some online classes, there was no partial credit and grading was automated. The prerecorded lectures were decent, but nothing to write home about. Test questions were often VERY different from the HW problems. I would be very wary to take him for any math classes more rigorous than precalculus.
