Super awesome prof! Hilarious, makes class interesting. I liked Brit Lit before, now I love it. Just go to class. Easy grading policy.
Had Dr. Falocco for Shakespeare class, and it was HANDS DOWN my favorite class throughout my entire college experience. He is very interesting, really knows what he is talking about, and makes you want to come to class. The grading policy is pretty easy, but you MUST attend class, it's mandatory or he drops you a full letter grade.
Really interesting professor. His class was really easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but like other courses, its best you attend because he gives you the exact layout with questions for the daily quiz. No exams just midterm and final which are questions from the quizzes. Easy A
Dr. Falocco is an incredible teacher! The way that he teaches Shakespeare makes it interesting and easy to understand. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
Dr. Falocco is awesome! I hate shakespeare, and by the end of the semester I loved it! Grading policy is easy, but attendance is huge! Great class to take as an upper level English class! Easy if you attend class and do the assignments!
Awesome teacher, he told us everything that was on all of the tests/quizes. TAKE HIM!
Coolest guy around - so super easy! Gives you the questions for quizzes/tests ahead of time! Allows you to miss a certain number of quizzes before it affects your grade! Take him!!!
GREAT professor! He gives you e v e r y t h I n g you need to know for quizzes and tests! Easy A, there is one essay but even that is super easy. Take him if you want a A!
if you dont take him for Brit Literature your crazy! LITERALLY easiest A of all. Quiz everyday but he gives you the questions before. 1 mid term and 1 final. TAKE HIM!!!! you won't regret it :D
As the previous rater stated, you are CRAZY if you don't take him for Brit Lit!! Attendance isn't mandatory, but you do want to go to class because he gives you the answers to the next class days quiz. He makes what is a normally an extremely boring class actually bearable. 1 midterm, 1 final, and 1 essay. Finished midterm in 16min. and got an A
Easy Class, but not for the easily offended. Quizlet! So don't have to spend $ on a book.
Joe Falocco is absolutely HILARIOUS! He takes his job very seriously and makes English fun. His Shakespeare class was my favorite by far. He is very helpful if you have questions about anything. All he expects is for you to come to class, read the plays, and complete the assignments; even if they're wrong, you just have to complete them! So easy!
This has been by far the best class I have taken at Texas State. He is absolutely hilarious and keeps you engaged the whole time, even through a reading of old english text. There is a quiz almost every day, but he gives you the questions that will be on it the previous day. Two tests overall (midterm & final) and one exceedingly easy essay.
Rhymes with Morocco... Dr. Falocco makes his class a dream. He is not demanding on large amounts of work and he guides you through how to do what he wants done. Show up, do the reading, and laugh. Seriously, there are a few quizzes, a couple assignments, and then a paper or scene(DO THE SCENES!) at the end and that's that!
Dr. Falocco is an awesome professor! He keeps things pretty interesting and the course load is not bad at all. One midterm, one final, and an essay. Quizzes every day at the beginning of class, but he gives you the questions that are on the next quiz at the end of class.
Great professor! He makes brit lit sort of interesting. Quizzes everyday, but you can miss/fail up to 5, and he gives you the questions the class before (he does it for the midterm and final too). Take this guy if you want an easy A!!!
Brilliant! Clearly very fond of what he teaches, esp. Shakespeare. He's an actor, so expect lots of humor in his class. Daily quizzes at the beginning of class, and he gives the quiz questions at the end of each class. His passion of what he teaches makes his lectures very engaging. Highly recommended! Note: His class is not for the easily offended
Easily one of the best professors I've had. Just make sure you aren't late to class.
So glad i got to take Falocco for Brit Lit! He is an awesome professor. You have a quiz every class so you have to show up, but he gives you the questions and 4 possible answer choices for each quiz during the class before so all you have to do is find the answers. Then write an easy paper and you have an A.
Falocco (it rhymes with Morocco) is a great professor and his class is great. I feel in love with British Literature. Lectures were interesting and fun. He is a great professor and I recommend him.
Falocco (it rhymes with Morocco) was a hilarious professor. There is a quiz each class over the material but he gives you the questions for it at the end of the previous class. If you do everything it's an easy B and if you do the paper an A.
There is a 20 question multiple choice PF quiz almost every week. 100 multiple choice question midterm and 100 multiple choice question final. There is one essay that is graded as PF. Lectures can be long and boring. Overall one of the best professors I have ever had. Wants his students to succeed.
Falocco, is a hilarious man. I am an English major and super happy I made the choice to take him. Quiz almost everyday but he prepares you for them. Gives you the questions in advance for quizzes, midterm and final as long as no one leaves class early. You can miss or fail up to 5 quizzes before it affect your grade. One essay, which is optional.
Great professor, He even makes jokes that are usually funny. there are daily quizzes but you get the questions and answer choices in advance. The final and midterm are 100 questions compiled from the daily quizzes so they are fairly easy. can't leave class early or he will call you out but why would you its an easy A just sit through the lecture.
Quiz every class but can miss 5 without penalty and he gives you the questions at the end of every class for the next quiz. Must be at class on time to take quiz and you can not leave after the quiz or he will call you out in front of whole class. Attendance is basically mandatory but don't need to listen to lecture so bring laptop to watch Netflix
I LOVED Falocco's class. It was extremely entertaining and he is a really interesting guy to listen to. He gives daily quizzes which he gives you the answer to at the end of the class before. He also gives you all the questions to the tests which are off the quizzes so if you don't skip class and you study the questions and answers.. its an easy A!
Amazing professor have not had anyone one like him before. Super Super Super easy class!!! Just memorizing answers. 2 test but are question from quiz and he tells you what questions for both quiz and tests. For my semester if you go to one of his theater productions he give the same grade you got on your midterm as your final exam grade!!!
Falocco is so easy if you just go to class he gives you the exact questions to the quiz at the end of every class. The final and midterm are just the quizzes combined. He gives you lots of extra credit opportunities. The only hard part is he makes you write a paper. He is super animated and loud he also acts out the plays and does great impressions
Professor Falocco was by far my favorite professor this semester. His class was always entertaining and I learned a lot. He almost gives you an A although you do have to write a paper for that A. If you have the opportunity to take his class DO IT!! oh, and you can find all the answers to the quizzes on quizlet so you don't even need the book!
If you can take this teacher for British Literature DO IT!!!!! Hands down the best professor I have taken! Didn't even have to take my Final and made a A in the class. Quizzes every week but he gives you the questions to figure out the class before. Take him!!!!! P.S. most of the quizzes are on quizlet.
Had him for early Shakespeare. Easy A so long as you do not miss more than a certain amount of class. Punctuality is extremely important for this professor so do not even show up a minute late(towards the end of the year he was a tiny bit more relaxed). He is an actor/director so class was entertaining. Didn't like Shakespeare before this
Dr. Falacco is the most comical, caring professor I have had at Texas State. He explains everything on the syllabus very clearly and doesn't have any tests. You will be required to read whole Shakespeare plays and analyze passages, but it is not hard at all. You have to show up ON TIME otherwise you are absent. He knows his theatre and is hilarious
Dr. Falocco is hilarious and great at what he does. I've never met a person more knowledgeable on Shakespeare. His Shakespeare classes have pretty steady work loads, but the assignments are easy. He also gives quizzes for each play on the syllabus, but they're easy if you read. I left the class with a much better understanding of Shakespeare.
Great professor. You will know exactly what is expected of you from day one. His in-class work is a bit repetitive at times but pay attention and you will learn a lot. Falocco is very funny and knowledgeable. He grades all assignments pass/fail and for the final you will choose between writing an essay or performing a scene, also graded p/f.
He seems intimidating at first but this class is ALL PASS FAIL, so it really easy, as long as you SHOW UP, and do your homework you will make an easy A! Even the 2 papers are pass fail so as long as you follow paper guidelines you'll make an A!! And he gave us all the questions and answers for the final!
Super easy pass fail!! So as long as you do all the guidlines he tells you you will make an A!! He is hilarious but seems intimidating at first! I had him for 2 classes and loved him! Do need the book! And you will have homework but it's easy just follow the rubrics!
Really funny guy. Get in a group chat for the class and save all the papers you write, you'll need those later.
He's a fun professor who loves to help you pass in any way he can, but you have to do your part too. He has near-daily quizzes based on readings from the textbook, but will give you the questions the class beforehand to help you get a good grade. He is really funny and really interesting to listen to when he reads passages in class.
Such a knowledgable professor. Emphasis on theatre (his specialty). Must attend class. Untraditional but cool grading policy. His lectures are funny and enlightening. Nothing will ever be accepted late. Rough around the edges at first, but do what he asks and you'll get a lot out of the class.
Take this guy if you need an English course! Joe Falocco is legit the easiest professor there is! I didn't give him a 1 difficulty is because there is a paper you need to write in order to earn an A in the course. His class consists of 2 exams, 1 paper, and 20 quizzes. Although attendance isn't mandatory, you can't miss more than 5 quizzes.
He's is very strict. Funny but annoying sometimes. Cannot go to the restroom unless it is an emergency. Gives a pop quiz before every class for attendance. If you email him a question, there is a 99% chance he will reply with a sarcastic comment and degrade you. He is not clear on questions as he will refer to the syllabus.
The class is VERY easy. You have a quiz every class but the class before he gives you the quiz and all you have to do is skim the textbook to find the fill in the blank questions. Memorize the answers for the quizzes and its easy. The two test are the same questions from the quizzes. To get an A you only have to write 1 essay.
SUPER EASY. teacher is hilarious. must go to all but 5 classes to complete the quiz. he gives all the quiz questions at the end of class so write them down and youll get a 100. gave all questions and answers for the midterm, didn't even have to take the final and ended with a 100. Only real work I had to do was write ONE easy paper at the end.
Very easy class. Show up, take your quizzes and you will be good to go.
Falocco is dope! All you need to do is pass 15 out of 20 quizzes and write one simple paper. Grade is essentially calculated by the first exam grade and if needed, the final...
SUPER EASY CLASS. Just show up and you will pass, he gives a quiz at the beginning of class but he shows you that quiz at the end of the previous class, you only need to pass 15/20 quizzes so you can skip 5 classes or go to the first 15 and not have to go at the end of semester. Just on paper, and I didn't even take final and got an A (:
Professor Falocco was a great professor. He understands that students are taking more than just his class therefore he gives little homework. There is a quiz at the beginning of every class over the assigned reading but he reviews for the quiz at the end of every class for the next day. I enjoyed this class and is an easy A, if you put forth effort
He's theatrical, which is amusing, but he's also abrasive and does not go in-depth into the material. His expectations of your work are unclear and frustrating. Good luck writing a paper for him, he is extremely particular and does not give helpful feedback. One of the least likable and helpful professors I have had the displeasure to work with.
Professor Falocco is hilarious. HIs lectures are pretty boring, but you don't have to take any notes on them. Quizzes every class based on readings from the book, but he gives you the questions with exact quotes. He also gives the exact questions on the midterm/final. There is also an easy paper graded pass/fail. Easy A as long as you just try.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! There is a quiz every class but he gives you the answers to the quiz the class before. He also drops your 5 lowest quiz grades so this gives you opportunities to miss class if you have to. The class consisted of quizzes, a midterm, a paper that was pass/fail and the final. Take this class if you need a GPA booster!
Easy A. Definitely take this prof. He gives you the daily quizzes the day before and all you have to do is look up a quizlet and memorize the answers. An optional paper to ensure an A, the class is pass fail, the midterm and final average is what makes your grade, and the mid term and final is just the quiz questions.
If you want an easy A, take this guy, if you want to learn something, take someone else. He'll tell you a lot about his political opinions, but you won't really improve as a writer, being exposed to great works of literature, or really enrich your learning experience at all. That being said, if all you want is an easy class, this is it.
one my favorite professors ive taken. Hilarious guy who somehow makes brit lit interesting. Quizzes almost every class but are so easy. Tests are easy and the one paper we write is easy too as long as you follow the guideline. Come to class, take the quizzes and you'll make an easy
Lots of quizzes but he gives you the questions for each the class before, and you can just skim through the text book to find the answers, pretty easy class if you show up for quizzes
Really funny and he loved what he did! Show up to class and you will pass.
Easiest professor. Gives quizzes every class but he gives you the questions and answer choices the class before. One paper at the end of the semester that is pass or fail but I did it hours before and made an A.
Falacco is one of the coolest professors I've had, he used to be a comedian, he's funny, show up and he will help you pass as best as he can, just make sure you actually show up and you'll be golden.
As a Shakespeare professor he is very poor. Doesn't lecture. Quizzes on every play have very vague questions. Don't take this class, extremely boring.
Absolutely loved this class. Basically, do what he says and you get an A because it's pass or fail. Assignments are easy for the most part and he's very accessible outside class. He brings a lot of interesting/funny commentary and analysis of the plays as an actor himself.
Very particular on how to complete assignments. Expectations are clear. Most of the class was others presenting their work while he explained what they did right/wrong, which gets monotonous. His comments on final papers were a bit degrading. Not blaming him for my bad writing, but he makes you feel stupid. Doesn't feel like he likes his students.
He is pretty clear on his instructions. You wont need the textbook if you can find a pdf version of the required sections.
Dr. Falocco is an amazing professor. The grading for the course is made extremely clear, and students get to choose how many assignments they do depending on what grade they want to receive. He stressed that you needed the textbook, but as long as you listen to the lectures, you are able to read along with Dr. Falocco. TAKE HIM!
When I signed up for this class I instantly thought I was going to hate it because it was Brit Lit Before 1785... Surprisingly it was not! Dr. Falocco made this course very interesting! His lectures (personally to me) were humorous and educational. Of course you have to put effort to pass but with his clear grading rules it is easy!
Dr. Falocco is a great professor. I dont normally like English readings from before 1785, but he makes this class fun. He is hilarious and he makes sure he tells you what you need to do to do well in the class. If youre taking English before 1785, definitely look into having him as your professor!
Gave quizzes every week on the reading material. Is really funny in his lectures and kept me entertained the entire time! Gave three papers all with clear direct guidelines. If you dont do the work youll fail, if you do it you'll pass...
My favorite English professor by far! He's super clear on what he expects from you and his lectures are adorable. He makes a boring class enjoyable! Papers are only difficult if you don't watch his lectures. I recommend reading the essay prompt before reading and watching the lectures so you know what to pay attention to.
Personally, I did not enjoy Folacco at all. He has no respect for his students and often makes them feel incompetent. He talks to adults as if they are children. His grading criteria are clear but require an unnecessary amount of time. Clearly hates teaching but enjoy's when people boost his ego. He's funny but just a really annoying person.
I had him for 2310, it was online but a great class. I needed credit and I am so glad the class was online. I would watch the recorded lectures and man would he make me laugh. There were quite an amount of quizzes and 3 papers so not too bad but boy READ the book and if you don't want to make sure to watch his recorded lectures trust me!
I think Dr. Falocco is one of my favorite professors I've ever had. His classes were always super engaging and fun to be in. He is strict about certain things (attendance, no late work, etc.), but other than that he grades everything completion based which I think allows the students to focus more on learning instead of getting a perfect score.
I'm a fine arts major, so I took this class just for the credit. Dr. Joe Falocco is a truly funny and endearing professor in the means of making the course material interesting as he knows that epic poems from older times aren't super interesting to a modern populace. If I had to take more ENG classes, I would absolutely aim for just his classes.
I'm still confused about how this professor has such good ratings. He's very condescending and talks as if he's speaking to children. He will fail you if you forget to italicize. Even if you write a good solid essay, he will automatically fail you. His grading techniques are lazy and does not care about his students' mental health or improvement.
An extremely easy course if you follow what he states. He very clearly says you will fail a paper if you do x, y, z. Don't do x, y, z and you are solid. He goes over the quizzes at the end of his lecture videos so what I do is what the end of the lecture videos first so I know what to watch out for during the lecture videos.
This is by far the worst college professor that I have ever encountered. Majority of the class is him boasting about his failed acting career and how he is tenured. He does not excuse any absences + will count you absent if you are 1 minute late, but will never be at his office hours during the scheduled times. Failed me bc he disagreed w my thesis
This class is not about reading Shakespeare. It is a class for him to push his ideals and talk about himself. We do not read Shakespeare, we only review passages from the plays for literary devices. He does not grade anything despite the class being listed as a letter graded course. He just assigns letter grades to students as he sees fit
He does not accept absences even those approved by the dean of students. His reasoning is the real world wont make excuses for you. I faced worse repercussions of missing this class than I did at my job. Was unexpectedly VERY sick with the flu for 3 weeks, then had a terrible drug reaction for the last week of the month, so I cant get an A.
I Loved this professor! And i am no where near a perfect student I def do the minimum. This class has 16 quizzes(1 each week/10questions/he gives you the answers) and 3 papers(all graded pass fail) through the course. Overall, take this professor if you want a chill and easy class.
The only grades for this course are four essays and weekly quizzes. Each essay is pass/fail with standardized requirements for each. This class is super easy to forget about because of how non-demanding it is.
If you usually do good on papers, answer the prompt appropriately, and use his answers in the lectures, you should get an A. The only reason I got a B was because I skipped the final paper. But there are quizzes but he gives you the questions and answers so you can get a 100 on all of them.
ok well I took him last semester for British lit and then I had to take Shakespeare. let me tell you now don't take him for Shakespeare. completely different teacher. you can tell he's passionate ab it so he goes in full force first day and youll have no idea what he's talking about or how to do the assignments. easy a Britt lit and not Shakespeare
This class is very straightforward in terms of what is expected of you. There are weekly quizzes along with 3 papers that make up your grade. Papers are pass/fail, but as he says "95% of students pass". As long as you watch lecture, there is no reason you shouldn't have an A in this course.
Professor Falocco was great! He was super funny and had interesting lectures which was nice since it was a fully online class. We had a few essays but he had clear criteria and graded them pass/fail. Weekly quizzes but they were super easy and he went over the questions in lecture
Super easy class and very informative. There is 3 papers you need to write over the course of the semester and weekly quizzes that are based directly off of the lecture.
I took this, having no expectations, so I'm lucky I got Joe Falocco. Though this class was low-key difficult, I could tell he was passionate therefore made me passionate (He is proud of his passport photo, and to be honest, I would be too). I would recommend him.
Dr. Falocco was an amazing English professor and I would gladly take him again!
Super funny professor. Only graded by a few quizzes and 3 papers. Unfortunately, I received a C because I missed the deadline for the final paper, but that's my fault since I had all semester to do it :'(. Still would take him again though
Great passport photo
Best Professor Ever and he's hilarious.
Easy class if you just follow his instructions. There were 3 papers (3 full pages long, EASY) no final, and all the quizzes were pretty simple and straightforward. Take this class!! He's a great professor. If you fail, it's completely your fault. Use the textbooks for quizzes and you'll be golden. He posts everything in advance.
Easy A if you do the work! Theres quizzes every week, if you read the text book and watch the lecture videos, he gives you the questions for the quiz and basically tells you what to put in your paper to pass. Theres 3 papers all semester, pass or fail, 3 pages long double spaced. Just follow his requirements and you'll pass. Would take him again!
Honestly, the easiest writing-intensive class ever. If you don't take him, it's your loss.
Easy class if you do all the assignments. Do them all ahead of time and you can finish this class super fast. Super clear grading criteria for each paper, if you do them right you will pass. Just do the work, theres not a ton of it and papers are only 3 page minimum. I enjoyed this professor a lot.
Very easy class, only 3 papers which you have more than enough time to complete, you have weekly quizzes, but he gives you the questions beforehand. Papers are graded pass/fail, so as long as you meet the requirements you will pass them. If you need a chill class, this one is perfect.
Very straightforward on what he wants on the papers, quizes on every lecture but he does give you the questions beforehand. 2 required textbook, just follow what rubic for the papers and youll do fine.
I loved his online english 2310 class for the summer! There are 3 easy papers to write. Daily quizzes but he gives you the quiz questions the lecture before. 2 books in this class, but he typically reads them for you in lecture. Very chill class as long as you follow the rubric for the papers, you'll be fine!
Chill professor and an even better class. He's well-organized and sets clear goals from the start. Lectures are easy to follow and the content is engaging. Three essays which are easy if you follow the rubric. Daily quizzes, but he gives helpful hints. I'd definitely take him again and highly recommend for an easy A.
Definitely crazy enough to be an English professor (in the best way). Tells you exactly what questions are gonna be on the quizzes at the end of every lecture. Papers are graded pass/fail but if you just follow the requirements you'll pass. Super easy 100
a lot of quizzes over books we're reading. three papers with a pass/fail option. is tough whenever he grades the papers but the quizzes are easy. His lectures are funny though. Overall a good professor.
Be very careful if you take this class. If you make one small error on a paper you will get a zero for that paper! I missed one quotation on my paper and bam zero. If you do take his class pay very very very close attention to instructions.
He messed me up right at the end.
I don't know what's up with these other reviews. He clearly states the criteria for the papers. The reviews admit to not meeting the criteria and then complain. Like it's not like he hasn't stated it many times before. He's a great professor though. He's really funny and I like his views on some of the pieces we read.
