Since this is the second time i repeat this class. I find this teacher lack of clarity and missing explanation to wards the course material. I really worried for the final.

He gives really hard exam, it is hard because he has never talked about it in class. Doesn't explain clearly for the course material , doesn't tell us what should we expect for quizzes. I have to watch online YouTube video and read textbook for his class !!!

Joe barely did any problems with his students in class, it felt like a detention class because he made us do our homework while he just sat on his computer. He is the reason the final exams had to be rewritten for the entire school of business stats students, because he didn't even care to finish teaching the required material for the final!!

This prof is very rude to his students. He makes you feel afraid to ask any questions for fear of being laughed at for not understanding a concept. He has such a smug & sarcastic toneway about him. 100% do NOT recommend. Yeah he's good at math but doesn't know how to TEACH it to a class. You will end up teaching yourself if you want a good grade.

Marks ridiculously hard, you will lose formatting marks on things you didn't even know existed. Very rude and makes you feel stupid while asking questions. Worst teacher I have ever had.

You will regret having this math professor as a math Teacher. He is one of these professors who likes to take point off instead of trying to help you out even if you put a lot of effort on Math. He will take points away for little things out of Math class and he really enjoy giving you low marks. My advice to you, just try to avoid this man.

This guy is a socially awkward man who does not care for your well being in the class on whether you fail or not. not only is he a bad teacher, he is a bad person. I personally believe that he is not part of the human species.

I wish I checked this site before taking his class. The man is basically out to get you, he will take 50% off of your mark on format even though he skips SO MANY steps during lectures. Does not matter that you understand the subject. I had to relearn most of his lectures on youtube and basically paid to teach myself.

if you can take Math 230 out of sait. Take out there, because all the math professors here are bad teachers... He doesn't prepare the class, he just read the same power point for the last couple of years... the rest of the professor, talking everything but math, you can tell they prepared them self before the class. He is the worst professor I have ever had. He's socially awkward, which I don't really care about because its not like I want to be friends with him but hes honestly the worst marker , he literally just wants to dock marks. DO NOT PICK HIM AS A TEACHER.

He is the worst professor I ever have! Like he literally minus everything in our paper even you got the right answer he will always minus something. If you didn't put all the givens he will deduct 1 from it. Even you have all the right answers, it is hard to get A+ because of how he check!!

Joe Farah is not a human. He may look like one, but I'm 100% he's just a socially inept alien sent to Earth to try and learn our ways. He has no understanding of social ques, nor any understanding on how to function with other humans. What an awkward weirdo. I hated this course. As did my entire class. He made something so easy into a mess.

Joe is a little awkward but a good person, and he means well... But he sucks at explaining things. He isn't supportive at all and if you ask for help he will just tell you to try again instead of adjusting his teaching to help you learn.

Don't listen to these people giving him 5's. Joe is an awkward weirdo and disrespectful. Hes a tough grader, I got an F on an assignment that I wasn't even in his class to do. Wouldn't change it btw. He has serious attitude towards certain people. Worst prof Ive ever had. But he knows his stuff, but you'll hate him at the beginning and at the end.

I would advise students to look for another professor who actually cares about you as an individual. You are just a number to joe he could care less how you do in the course. Just awful

I usually do not post on here but like other people have mentioned please do not take a course with Joe. He is a terrible grader you will have a better first year at sait without him. He also has no ability to communicate with students

Unfortunately there is a sharp drop in attendance in joe's class during the middle to end of the semester. I feel students just get discouraged due to joe making the course way harder than it needs to be. I have seen classmates get all the right answers and still almost fail assignments. Joe is a TERRIBLE professor RUN from this guy!

I love my most of the teachers at this school they are usually well respected. Joe has garnished zero respect from students due to his inability to communicate effectively or grade like a decent human being. Do not waste your money on his class

He is a very tough grader and it seems he doesnt care if students understand. he is not a good communicator with students and them trying to understand and makes it out as the students just slow and asking dumb questions. i wish i did my research here before joining but for those thinking on joining his class RUN!!

Awful professor, he was absolutely awful at communicating with students through the recent crisis and his marking is so ridiculous to the point where he deducted whole marks for simple grammar mistakes on a group project. He isn't a tough marker, he is just bad and unfair at marking things period.

Joe is the absolute toughest grader at SAIT. save yourself the worry and find a different BMAT professor if you can. Also is awful at communicating

Joe has zero understanding for his students on an online platform. his case studies are ridiculous, he doesn't mark based off of equations he marked based off grammar and excel skills. He's not a good communicator, when you're confused with a question he gives you a sarcastic answer and doesnt really answer your question. also his riddle are stupid

Worst teacher that I have ever had. Super unfair, he docs marks if its not exactly the way he writes things even if the answer is correct. Doesn't care at all about his students success in class. Makes the class unnecessarily difficult and stressful. Don't waste your effort in his class. Its never good enough.

too hard to understand, goes over material too quickly. expects the class to know everything he goes over without really making sure everyone knows. Deducts marks on little irrelevant details that doesn't have to do anything with the learning process. I know i'm trying my best, attending, and asking questions but i still have a difficult time.

He is incredibly arrogant and rude. Treats you like you are stupid anytime you ask a question and is hardly helpful. Hes a super hard marker as well. Its unfortunate he teaches the free tutorials that are offered through SAIT. Unless youre okay with sarcastic remarks every time you ask a question and being belittled I would find another teacher.

Does not allow room for minor mistakes and deduct huge points. He doesn’t mind if you’re participating. He will just do his thing with his awful audio which makes him harder to comprehend. He doesn’t care if you can follow. SAIT needs to revisit the performance of the instructors & listen to the student’s feedback.

Not really supported teacher

Worst Math Teacher Ever. Most awkward weird guy ever, SHOULD NOT be a teacher. Makes everyone uncomfortable and is just unbearably awkward. He sucks at answering questions or makes people feel dumb for asking them Class average on our quiz was F and he blamed us, and when the class needed more time for quizzes he made a bs excuse.

Very rude. He likes to rush when explaining things, without realizing we have never learned these things before. Explanations are also unclear. SAIT should reevaluate who is teaching their courses, students should be able to succeed, and not stress about their professor rushing through everything.

Very inconsiderate and does not answer questions properly. He makes everyone feel stupid by answering simple questions that he is being asked. Also wondering why this professor is still here after all these comments about him. We pay hundreds thousands of dollars for a tuition fee for this professor who is heartless and just so arrogant.

Joe was extremely hard to work with. Everything we ever learned was from our own research, or other teachers. His final project for our bmat class is worth 30% and he gave little to no instructions. No example on how it's supposed to look. Yet we're some how supposed to figure out how he wants it, by looking at a limited doc. Would never take again

How is this teacher still here after all those reviews about him? He is one of the worst professors I've ever had. He doesn't teach, he'll completely put you down if you ask a question for clarification. Joe also marks hard for small errors in assignments. Avoid this professor AT ALL COSTS, you'll thank me later.

He will only give you very low marks in our case studies which in fact this can help us to earn marks to pass this course. If you're struggling in Math and you want to ask questions he will not help you. I hope someone could report this instructor in SAIT he's not a considerate person very rude.

Joe/ Joseph Farah is very inconsiderate instructor in SAIT. Imagine our group case study he gave us a very low grade. How can you succeed on this course? I hope that someone could report him to SAIT academic advising team. SAIT should look for another instructor doing online class. Hoping that he will not be teaching in SAIT anymore.

It is evident that he knows the course very well but he is not able to simplify it to his students who are not good with the concept. He gives sarcastic notes in class which is not funny at all. His teaching is not consistent. Teaches too fast and asks clarifications at the end of the lecture. Exams are difficult and far-out of the reviewer.

Please stay away from this man because you will fail. He doesn't if you understand or not. He will just deliver his lecture and walk away.

Oh Sait why? This guy has a serious victim mentality. He took a mark off my table because one of the letters was not capitalized. The only reason he is teaching is for the pay check and he clearly doesn't care about his students unless it is to belittle them.

Joe can appear to be your friend at the start but do not be fooled. He sets out expectations that are not clear what so ever. If you ask for clarification he just responds with a question and goes back to whatever he was doing. The cost of my tuition for this class is only half as much money as I need for therapy after having this man as my prof.

I was a former electrical engineering student used to difficult math, I changed to business and I could barely pass his math class. He would mark students a 0 on a question for any minor mistake and not give you part marks for you know getting the question right lol. He is not clear with what he wants just get a different prof and get a 80%+.

Do yourself a favour to your mental health and drop his class if you have this man as a prof. He is just a man child. He doesn't give clear feedback on his assignments that had no clear criteria to begin with. If you ask for help at any point, he won't give it to you and just project his poor teaching on to you. I wish I could give him a zero.

Changes rubrics and regulations for assignments last minute with zero communication between teacher and student and marks unfairly across the class

He doesn't know what he's doing. From day one, I could tell that half the class had more knowledge in every single unit so far than the professor himself. Additionally, his rubrics that he gives the students as a "checklist" for an assignment and the rubric that he uses to grade are different. Often results in super low and unfair grades. AVOID!

Does not include all information in rubrics for projects. will heavily dock marks for things you didn't know you needed to do.

Do anything you can to avoid this man! He treats you like you are less than if you have accommodations. He even accused me of faking a doctors note! He grades harshly for no reason. I took his class then dropped it. Submitted similar work to a different prof next semester. Got a B on it. Joe gave me a D+.

Drop his class. Save yourself.

The days when I had his class I was disappointed that I didn't pass away in my sleep to avoid attending.

I genuinely don't know how this man is still a professor at this school. There is so many things wrong with him. He shows absolutely NO emotion whatsoever, speaking in a constant monotone voice. It feels like you are talking to a robot who couldn't care for your existence. He is so picky when grading and gives no clear feedback or help. A manchild.
