Dr. Galante is my hero
clear, well organized, and open for questions and difficulties
Hilarious, makes tax fun. Papers are rough, but no tests!

He's a little hard, but worth every minute of study time. I learned so much from him and I'm grateful for his time.

Great prof. Very easy to understand, will demand a decent amount of work, but has a great personality.
One of the best teachers that I have ever had! Keeps class entertaining
lots of work but very funny. classes are tough becuase he doesnt teach, students do all the chapters.
do the work and you get As, don't and you get what you deserve. always willing to help students both in and out of class. has contacts for post-college life.
Great Prof, always has time to help out
Probably one of the best in the department. He's the reason I'm a successful business professional today.
worse ever I had. disorganize. favor some students. not available, never.
Hard class. Galante is a great professor. I liked him from 161 which is why I wanted to take the course, a lot of work. Do not take for an easy A.
never available, disorganized, never take course with him.
Mumbles and you do not understand what he says. Disorganize and favor some students. Waste of time.
Very funny and just a nice guy. Best professor at Millersville! He wants to help you if you make the effort to talk to him.
very smart and great guy
Expects you to already know a lot about tax law. He seems sort of full of himself and, after a while, his jokes just aren't funny anymore. The class is pointless because he has each student teach a chapter. Then he gives rediculous group work totally unrelated to what we've discussed in class. This is my least favorite business course.
This class was wasy because he puts you in groups and have the class teach the course. He has some good insight for those who want to be tax accountants. He is scattered and unorganized, but an easy grader.
There are 5 tests. He drops the lowest test, so if you do good on the first 4 you dont have to take the final(5th test). The tests are only hard if you dont read and study, but they can still be a little tricky. He curves usually 10 points on each test. He is a real nice dude, if you get him to like you, you are good to go.
funny guy can keep you entertained with his stories, doesn't care if you come late. His test can be very tricky because they are multiple choice. He takes them right from the textbook so if you study the text you will do ok
Horrible professor. expects you to know everything there is about accounting before you even step in the classroom. Everything is "common sense" to him but is very difficult. Lectures are pointless, wording on tests is hard to read. DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!
Funny, nice guy but horrible teacher. Class average on all test was in the 50% range and if he curved it wasn't noticeable. Test were very hard and completely from the book. Half the class will withdrawal and you're better off with someone else.
Dr. G is a very nice guy. His tests are hard, but study and u can do fine. Very enthusiastic professor. He tries to explain things as easily as possible, he helps you understand the concepts better than the book
Do not take class, TRUST MEE!!! i took his class last semester, there were 30 students at the beginning of classs after the drop period, there were 9 and more than half of them were FAILING
The man. "don't get mad, get even.." Worked for the IRS- many pertinent stories o and hes a Lawyer.
I had to drop the class. Got a D on the test 60% and after tons of negotiating our class got a 13% curve. The tests were ridiculous and not from the chapters he said they were from because I did read the entire chapters/online studying. He likes to talk about cocaine as well! DO NOT TAKE YOU ARE WASTING TIME AND MONEY
Half the class dropped, the rest of us barely passed.
Pretty much if you are taking his 161 course, he wants you to do poorly. He even said he weeded out kids in his classes for other schools. Half the class dropped and the other half failed. Now if you read the book religously and do the online practice tests you can do fine. But forget the notes. Dont bother going to him because he wont help you!
i studied really hard and still got a D-
NO matter how you cut and slice it if you are an accounting major you have to take him at least once for Fed Income 1 - he is a nice teacher, but acts like he wants his student to fail. Gives no guidence, and is unwilling to help, mkae sure you dedicate almost all of your time to this class! Its the only way you will even get a D!!
Great professor! One of few who makes us do work that is meaningful. The only people who hate him are those who are lazy and refuse to read the book or complete assignments. This class requires effort, if youre not willing to give that, do not bother wasting everyone's time.
Will tell you straight up you're an idiot if you answer a question wrong in class. he worked for the IRS. Over half the class dropped, the rest of us just about failed- he likes to talk about crack
Dr Gallante is a tough professor but entertaining at times. He really likes students to come to his office to show interest, but don't expect him to be helpful. He also likes for students to be prepared for class. if you take his class be prepared to spend a lot of time studying and reading. Tests are very hard. The online material is helpful.
This is a hard class no matter who you take. About half the ppl that take it drop or fail. Galante is a good teacher, he just doesn't help very much. I stopped going to class and just read the book and ended the class with a B. The class consists of 5 multiple choice tests and he drops the lowest one. If you really read the book you will do fine.
One of the most knowledgeable profs. Fast paced, read the book. He is no nonsense, but worth you time. Lots of real world examples. I've taken him for 3 classes and would take all classes he teaches. Not easy, but worth it. Read the book, do the homework BEFORE class.
dont take him unless you want to read the book cover to cover and take notes on the entire thing. my class started with 42 people and 8 passed. He thinks its funny that everyone fails his class. I WILL NEVER TAKE HIM AGAIN
Pros: His classes are interesting as long as the class makes comments about the topics. He's honest and will tell you like it is. You will learn important information/cool stories. Cons:He's never available. He's honest and will tell you like it is. You need to do the work to learn the information/ACTUALLY READ. Sorry kids, this is college.
Nice guy just as a teacher I don't recommend. Teaches well in class but what he teaches is not on test. Always studied hard and got d's. More then half of my class withdrawed and many others failed
He was really funny. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss class you're only hurting yourself. His class was hard, but he definitely prepares you for the real world. My favorite professor so far at MU.
This guy had a good sense of humor, but his class was ridiculous. Nothing he taught was on the test, I pretty much had to read all the chapters and teach myself everything. Curved almost every test by ten points cause everyone failed, and gave extra credit. Take him if you're good at teaching yourself.
The guy is hilarious and really involves you if you WANT to be involved. He will pick on you if he knows your name but it's all in fun. His quizzes are very tough; all true/false. But if you READ the chapters and ask questions, you should be ok. Emphasis on 'should'.
One of the nicest profs at MU and is so funny in class. His tests and quizzes are VERY hard.
This class is hard no matter who you take. Galante is a character. Seems gruff, but he will warm up. I am literally an idiot in the topic, but i came to class, paid attention and volunteered and got a B. He's really a nice guy, and I am very critical.
All of the quizzes are pop quizzes and true and false. Galante has very intersting lectures but the quizzes are very difficult no matter what.
Anything you learn will be what you taught yourself. During class he only tells stories. You won't learn much from him and all his quizzes are unannounced.
Do not take him
You basically teach yourself everything you need to know. He gets off topic very easily. The tests consist of multiple choice and truefalse. Don't let that fool you though, they are still very challenging. Buy the text book and start reading. The class is very challenging, but not impossible if you put the time into it.
This is a VERY hard class, attendance isn't mandatory but strongly recommended for a good grade. Make sure to participate and ask lots of questions during class and he'll make sure to help you out. Test/quizzes are pulled directly from CCH and older CPA exams, they are brutal but not impossible. GO TO OFFICE HOURS!
Dr. Galante was great teaching business law, he has a lot of experience and he gave great real life examples that help with remembering the laws and cases. His exams were true/false only so that was difficult. If he knows your name and you participate you will do very well. I had a B average with tests but since he knew my name he gave me credit.
Galante is one of the worst professors at MU. Hilarious guy with much experience in the business world, however, his tests are nearly impossible and he gives a 10 page paper and a 14 page paper and is an extremely hard grader on them. Also, he is not very clear or helpful inside and outside of class. If you have the chance, DO NOT TAKE HIM
Dr. Galante is hands down my favorite professor. Be prepared to read the book (especially the cases!) - you're expected to participate. He will pick on you if he likes you - all in good fun. He's hilarious and has great stories & examples. You have to read to at least pass. Quizzes are unannounced, true/false. I plan to take him as much as possible
Complete joke of an accounting class. Might as well be an english class. Wants 3 papers, a 7 pager, 10 pager, and 12 pager, all single spaced for a math based discipline... Good luck. 5 tests all unannounced as well as quizzes. Really nice guy and a really funny guy with great stories and knows his stuff, but unduly hard class.
a complete joke for any business classes. don't waste your time and money. he literally want you to fail his course.
Dr. Galante is a great person, as long as you have a good sense of humor. As a professor he is extremely difficult. All quizzes are T/F which makes the class a lot harder. Read the chapters BEFORE class and always engage with him. The more he knows you the better shot you have in the class. But it is not an easy class.
Probably one of my favorite professors of all time! he is NOT going to just hand you the A. you have to put in the time and effort and have to really want it. If you really want to be on his good side, ask very specific classes instead of general ones and make sure you read or you will not pass. would def take him again and again!
Galante is a great guy and it's obvious that he knows his stuff inside and out. He's hilarious in class and I liked him. But he lags behind in the "teaching" part of it. He provides zero online material, instead gives infrequent handouts and blank accounting paper. Tests have questions not discussed in class (book only). Doesn't like questions.
Galante is a great professor. He is tough, but participate and you will be fine. READ THE BOOK!!! That's the only way you will pass. :)
This is a class you really have to work hard to even pass with a C-. The entire grade is based off of exams that are T/F. The final is MC though. A lot of people end up having to take this course again because it's so hard. He is an alright guy, some days he is really funny and other days he is really rude. Not recommended unless necessary.
reading heavy, with a big emphasis on the reading part
Not the best professor. You basically teach yourself. He gets off topic easily during lectures, doesn't give much guidance for the tax memorandums. He gives grades to you as everyone is walking out so there's not really any privacy with grades. Exams are True/False and multiple choice, but extremely challenging.
Prof Galante gives a really interesting lecture, the tests are multiple choice, focus on the cases in the book. Text is hard to read, really long but he makes it interesting. Participate, participate, participate! He gives extra credit and it's worth a lot of your final grade.
Extremely hard class. Reading the textbook is important in order to be successful. The grade consists of five unannounced quizzes and the final exam. If you participate, he will give you extra credit. Although Galante is tough, he is really funny.
This is one of the hardest classes Ive taken at Millersville. His only grades are 5 pop quizzes and a final. Other than that all you do is read the textbook and pray you dont have a quiz if you didnt finish it. The quizzes are very detail oriented and you must understand every aspect. You need a C- to pass but hes isnt afraid to give D+s
He is an incredibly tough grader who offers few chances to get points throughout the semester. He offers extra credit, but the "extra credit" is really a 5-page single spaced essay on multiple chapters at a time. If the extra credit isn't to his standards, he deducts points from the already few points in the gradebook. Do not take his class.
TERRIBLE. If youre thinking about taking him for this class online, DONT. Offers no instruction at all, and you essentially just teach yourself the material by doing chapter summaries, which range from 3-9 pages minimum, single spaced paragraph format. Very rude and abrupt in his emails. Overall, Id recommend staying away, especially for online.
Total of 80 pages to submit, single space, smallest font. No teaching only through textbook. enough said, it is not right of any professor to do this.
You have a paper due each month consisting of 30 pages single space and that alone will only give you a low b if that. Waste of time, he doesnt teach the course. To think you are paying for an education and all he is doing is having you purchase a textbook and write a summary on it is wrong. If you want to be a professor than teach.
Professor Galante does not teach the class; you teach yourself. The entire course was a few assignments where you practically rewrite the textbook, and even if you meet his requirements, he will find at least one thing to criticize and give you a 70%. His standards are ridiculous and he provides little assistance. If you can, avoid him at all costs
Dont take him for a summer course. You have a minimum of a 30 page paper due each week. Grades them the following week; either a low B or C, and adds minimum feedback on how you got that grade. Four grades for the whole class so if you fail one paper youll must likely end up failing or with a low C for your final grade.
With Galante's classes, you get what you put into it. You won't pass the course unless you read A LOT, and if you do you shouldn't have much trouble. His lectures are entertaining and he's a knowledgeable and energetic guy. He's definitely an old-school kind of prof in a good way. Just work hard and you'll enjoy the course.
-very funny & uses examples -tough grader!!! -NEED to read -extra credit is weird. You get the points if you get the questions right . If you get them wrong instead of not affected your grade (like normal) ALL of the extra credit points off of your test grade. If its out of 100pts and you got an 80 w/o EC and you get them wrong you get a 60.
100% DO NOT TAKE PROFFESOR GALANTE. He wants to fail you, the only thing graded are tests, and he makes it clear if you do badly on the first you are pretty much screwed. Multiple people I know had to withdraw from this class, including me. You read the whole textbook cover to cover and teach yourself everything. DO NOT TAKE PROF GALANTE!!!!
DO NOT TAKE HIM. His class is all about teaching yourself and the all tests are incredibly hard. The book that you have to read is impossible to learn from and the exams are all worded in a way for you to get each question wrong. He does not teach you anything and just expects you to know/learn it all yourself.
Dr. Galante is funny sometimes, that's pretty much his only redeeming quality. He absolutely does not care if you pass or fail. Not a good teacher, you have to learn most things on your own. He picks a few favorites and uses them for every example, pretty weird.
He is a great professor and he tells you how it is. If you read the textbook, show up to class, participate and study you will do fine. It is a lot of reading but there are no homework assignments. There are 5 exams, they are very difficult but if you take the time to study you will be fine. He really is a great professor.
he is not a very good professor, he does not answer emails and is not clear in his lectures. He's very textbook heavy. I studied a lot and I still misunderstood a lot and i just don't feel i get the help im needing personally. His handwriting is so hard to read.
Class is extremely difficult - you read the book cover to cover + 5 exams. Galante as a person is one of the funniest people I've ever met. In order to succeed, you need to build a relationship with him. See him in office hours, participate in class, etc. If you respect him he will respect you. I bombed every test and he still passed me.
Overall I really enjoyed Galante. There is a lot of reading in this class. If you read what he tells you too when he tells you too and study hard for the tests you will be fine. His actual class time is the best part he will create scenarios that could happen in real life to help you understand the material.
He is funny, very very funny in lectures and very intelligent. Galante provides 0 breaks, "I try to limit the amount of A's in my class to a maximum of three every semester". Smartest person in my class had a B. Only way you can get a good grade is to take only 12 credits and read AND STUDY. Only rounds if whole class fails a test.
god awful. do anything you can do avoid having this guy as your professor. makes class as hard as physically possibly. no work only exams. he's a pretty funny guy and probably a good person but my lord he is an awful professor
Horrible professor. Spends most of class calling students stupid. Called one girl in our class autistic in front of everyone. Never gives you grades because he unfairly makes them up at the end of the semester. Classic boomer who tries to push his views on you. Gives special treatment to specific students, allows those students to turn work in late
Very funny prof, poorly run and brutally hard class. Doesn't follow a clear schedule, makes up rules for exams and assignments on the fly. Final grade isn't based on any clear grading system even though the syllabus says otherwise. Make yourself known to him, go to his office hours and participate in class, he might bump you up a letter grade.
You teach yourself all the content in this class, plan to read the textbook cover to cover. The lectures weren't helpful imo but show up anyway and take notes. Galante is funny but not very good at teaching. Your whole grade is from exams so make sure you put the time in to read and study the practice quizzes.
have to teach EVERYTHING yourself. be able to read an entire textbook front to back. only thing saving him is his humor. exams only for grades and a small extra credit opportunity. don't plan coming to lecture and actually learning anything lol.
