By the end of it, I developed a huge amount of respect for him and honestly, through his class, I now look at life in a totally different perspective. I had this professor back in high school, and I still remember his lessons very clearly. He doesn't believe in handing out As, you have to earn it. But he's always there to help you. Also, his lessons teach so much about life in general and they're powerful lessons. One of the books we read in class is still my favorite book to this day.

Simply put, the best teacher at this school. There is much reading and a paper every week, but he ALWAYS has something interesting to talk about. Amazing professor, life-changing course. If you don't learn or grow in his class, you won't in any other. He's really nice, and if he likes you, he'll pick on you. There is a lot of work, though, with sometimes twice-weekly typed homework, and you'll have to do a presentation (at least in honors), but he does have a lot of extra credit options.

You have to prepared to write a lot and he is a tough grader, but he gives you plenty of chances to get a easy A. If you don't love this professor, you have a black soul and belong in a padded room wearing a Hannibal mask. He knows his material so well, and makes every single lecture soo fun. His class has to be one of the most easiest classes ever. COL 101 is a 10 week course, and most discussions are primarily based on the textbook. The class goes over goals, motivation, time management, changing a major, etc. It's not a class it's more of a guide. Do the work (which isn't hard) and BOOM easy A! Best of Luck

Not a tough grader and assign a very easy homework. H e gives you too much extra credit opportunities and changes your lowest grade to hundred.

Excellent professor, I'm not very good in English but I still got a 93 in his class, he's hysterical and very smart about what he teaches. Do your homework and participate and don't use your phone in class and there won't be any issues. There's frequent homework and readings but also a few extra credit assignments. Very fair in grading.

He is indeed a great professor. i love coming to his class because you learn a lot and because he is hilarious. the class has to do with doing your work and participating also you need to purchase 2 books that most of the homework is on and he gives out this packet that you shouldn't loose because it also has a lot of homework reading in it.

Professor Gansrow is an AMAZING professor, took him for ENG 102 and ENG 206. He gives a lot of reading, but what can you expect from a literature/story class. He picks on students a lot, as a joke of course & has a great sense of humor. He's a bit of a tough grader, but is very easily accessible to talk to and will help! He really knows his stuff!

I took Professor Gansrow for ENG 206. I loved the class. We had a lot of readings, but he is very fair. Able to make up work with a VALID reason. He is always available, can email him or visit him durning office hours. Wants all his students to succeed. Very good teacher and helps when ever you need. WOULD DEF TAKE AGAIN.

He's incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to literature but also so good at engaging the class in his discussions that it's literally impossible not to learn anything. Not to mention he's just an all around great guy and friggin hilarious. if you want a quality professor, take his class.

I recommend this professor 100% even if you aren't good at English. He helps you get an understanding about literature. I've learned so much from this class. He makes time for all his students to help each and every one of them. He also gives extra credit, its overall a very fair class. There is also a presentation but very simple overall.

If you want to learn, and get what you pay for - take him. He gives so much, and he is very motivated to do an amazing job. You can see that he loves what he does. Professor Gansrow has been the best professor I had at Suffolk. I enjoyed his teaching techniques. He shows video clips of what has to do with the lesson. There was some visual learning which is outstanding since many people are visual learners. I gained a lot of knowledge from this class. I took this class in the summer. RECOMMEND PROF GANSROW!!!

Professor Gansrow was an amazing professor. I have never liked English but he makes the lessons easy to understand what literature is all about. There is a decent amounts of extra credit which makes it impossible to fail this class. You can always fix your grades including doing revisions on homework. One presentation but it's the easiest!

Really funny and easy going guy. Makes fun of everybody including himself. Lots of easy homework in his textbook (He wrote it) but the answer key is in the back, which he clearly pointed out. Lots of extra credit and you have weeks to write the papers, which every class you go into the classwork is to work on the paper. Best teacher ever.

Professor Gansrow is the best educator Ive encountered throughout my two years at Suffolk. He is intelligent emotionally and academically. He truly cares about the success of his students. He is accessible almost always and allows early submission of work for editing. As he says, he wants you to leave his class learning as you would in Harvard.

I did online only and it was very good. As long as you read the literature needed, which he provides for you, the assignments are easy and not stressful.

Doctor Gansrow is an amazing professor, he is caring, funny, sweet and wants all students to pass. He is very lenient and is willing to help you in person. There are many opportunities for extra credit online and in person (workshops) to drop the lowest grade. He is extremely understanding and is willing to give extensions. 12/10 !!

He's truly amazing! Give a ton of homework but it helps so much for the final. final is open book, WRITE WHAT HE SAYS! You pretty much have 2 books you have to buy and read sections of. One of my most favorite professors I've ever had. His class was interesting and he is a wonderful teacher. He really cares about you doing well in his class. He is so communicative and accessible. I enjoyed taking his class and if I wasn't graduating I'd have taken others. I definitely recommend him. He also dropped our lowest grade, so nice.

He's an excellent professor. He does all he can to make sure your papers are as perfect as possible. The more you work with him, the more you get out of the class and the better grade you get. Extra credit is generous. Only a couple of papers to write but the deadlines are kind and his grading is fairly generous as well. I'd definitely recommend.

Dr. Gansrow, I can NOT say enough great things about this man! I took his online Winter session 2020. He made this course HILARIOUS! He was so kind and caring and gives a TON of extra credit! His assignments are mildly difficult but they allow you to use your brain and think in-depth about the works you read. BEST professor at Suffolk by far! LOVE!

He was super awesome! I took his online class and it was super easy in the beginning and got gradually harder. He gives you his number so you can text and call him as needed and his guidance is super helpful. Im not a fan of literature but im a fan of this teacher.

Professor Gansrow is an awesome Professor. He gave the best feedback. Fall of 2020, he helped me so much. I went through a loss and he helped keep my work on track, and motivated me to get through the semester and strive for a better grade than where I was leading myself. I took ENG-102 fully online and he is the best English professor I have ever had. There is an assignment due at the same time each week and all assignments were posted at the beginning of the semester so you could get ahead on the work. He gave detailed feedback & provides a lot of opportunities for extra credit so there is every chance to succeed.

If you plan on taking him over the winter, do it. Prof Gansrow is by far the best professor I have had so far. His assignments are clear and gives great feedback. There was ALOT of extra cred. assignments and bonus questions to boost your grade. He drops one assignment and makes the course load super manageable. Definitely take this man if you can.

I took this class for the winter semester so it was more accelerated. I highly recommend him. As long as you do your work and pay attention you really shouldn't have any issues in this class or with him. He gives good feedback and makes funny comments. He is very easy to contact also which also shows he cares. Don't listen to the negative reviews.

Have him for this spring semester. Overall awesome instructor and can be really funny with sarcastic jokes and shows that he wants everyone to succeed. Homework can be a lot of reading most of the time, but other than that just do your best at completing them and he gives you the best advice and opinions on whats great or what can be done better.

with prof gansrow, you can easily get A. All you need to do is send him your draft and he will find mitakes and will tell you to make corrections.

Professor Gansrow is one of the best professors I've had. He gives you feedback on all your assignments and offers a lot of extra credit. Professor Gansrow is a great professor, he cares for his students and wants you to do well. Having him for a winter course was phenomenal he broke down each section so it didn't become overwhelming and even opened the course early.

Assignments are straight forward and he uploads tutorials to walk you through how to complete each one. He provides good feedback. Learn how to quote properly, he provides good notes on how to do it. He provides a lot of opportunities for extra credit. He's a good professor and I ended up taking him for another class this spring semester.

Nice guy and is easy to access through email. He caught me cheating on an assignment but didn't escalate it which I appreciated but he was NOT HAPPY. We did speak and I had to write an email why I cheated and how. He does offer extra credit for going to the writing studio and there are also a few extra credit assignments as well.

This is the second class I've taken with Professor Gansrow because he's so great! Art of Humor was a great course. One assignment per week with lots of room for creativity. Feedback on my papers has always been great and I've been able to apply to future papers. There's no discussion boards except for the first week. Fun class.
