Fun class. Really enjoyed it. Challenging class, but if you study and don't get behind in reading the textbook, you'll do fine. He seems intimidating, but he's truly a helpful and cool prof.

For summer school study the notes. I spent too much time reading the text and on test day I realized all questions were based on the notes. He is very helpful and knows his stuff!

He's helpful and adds a little humor to keep things alive.

His tests are really hard, but he'll bring them up if you just go talk to him. He is really fair and keeps class interesting.

Great Prof. His tests are difficult but he will raise your score if you talk to him on office hours and can prove you've learned the material since test day. makes a complex subject fun, take good notes & study them! Read, but only what he tell you to.

Funny guy, talks about sex alot, but other than that good teacher. Tests are hard, but go talk to him on office hours and he'll take how many you missed cut it in half and add that number to your score. Very fair and a real nice guy.

Great professor - made a 5 unit, summer class go by quickly with his charm and quick wit. His tests are very difficult though; use your lecture notes to study. Highly recommend this professor.

Very neat teacher. He's still living in the 60's. Makes a lot of funny jokes. His test are hard, but he'll raise your grade if you come see him to go over the answers you got wrong.

he's the greatest teacher i have ever had!!! if he isn't sure of an answer he will spend 20 mins looking up the right answer to your question...is willing to help you in any way he can to help you get a better grade...talk to him about bad tests!!!!

This guy has a great sense of humor. He takes what you neeed to know from the book. So study lecture notes as his tests are difficult.

He has a sense of humor, even though it's slightly twisted. His tests aren't easy by any means. If you talk to him about low scores you wont be sorry - seriously. Expect to do a lot of work.

Great teacher, goes off on tangents during lecture (but it makes the lecture more fun) His tests are very hard, you only need to go by his lectures (i didnt even open my book). Talk to him as much as possible, and especially if you do bad on the tests!!!

Proefessor Henry's tests are at a advanced level and are a challenge. His course is designed to model courses given at a University level not high school. We are here to learn not get an easy A. This course will definetly prepare you for advance courses.

Tests are a challenge but if you study plenty you'll do fine.Joe will raise your grade if you make an effort to talk to him about your tests.Don't expect to be lazy in this class though.You will learn a lot!

Great teacher. Very hard class. If you are looking for a biology class that you can slack in don't take this class. It is very important to go to every lecture and take great notes. There is no need to buy the book if you take great notes.

Mr. Henry is a good guy. How could anyone be offended by his dumb jokes? He knows a lot about biology. Put your ego aside and you'll like him.

I am a C student, B at best. I took great notes in his class, got an A. His test questions are tough, I swear to god he never covered some of them....but whatever, if you talk to him, make it look like you realize what you did wrong, he'll take care of you

His tests are hard. Even though my grades on the tests were not great, I feel like I learned a LOT in this class. That is what we are here for right? His sense of humor keeps it fun.

This theacher is one of the coolest guys you will ever meet at grossmont. He is quite a character. You may think he seems hard but he is very very helpful is he sees you are trying. Will most likely look over tests and let you correct it for more credit if you get a bad grade at first.

Joe Hernry is a funny teacher. He makes lectures funny by going way off topic. Tests challenge your ablity think. GOOD idea to read the book. Willing to help students out. He is strick when it comes to LABS. DO NOT ANSWER YOUR CELL PHONE, automatic drop.

fun guy! MAKE USE OF OFFICE HRS (esp after tests) his tests are really hard but he knows that, and is willing to work through your mistakes and help you learn and help your grade. take him because he's retiring soon and he'll teach you a lot about college, not just bio!

This was a tough class and a lot of material was covered, but I enjoyed it because I am a bio major. Study hard for his tests (there are only 2). I didnt like him at first but after a while I began to enjoy him. He is good about giving help if you need it.

Explains difficult concepts well. No patience for slackers. Will help eager learners. He advised reading only the parts of chapters addressed in his lectures. Ignore that. Read the whole chapter. The tests are hard. Lab grade is easier. The lab manual doesn't have to be correct, just complete. Leave excuses at the door.

Joe is really nice guy, but the tests are extreamly hard. You really need to study for this class. If you mess up on one test consider your grade gone.

Joe is a great teacher. He has his moments of wondering but that just helps the class from becoming boring. He is helpful and has a great knowledge on life. If you are a baby and can't handle being held accountable for your own actions, then don't go to college!!! If you think his class is hard, wait until you start real life! Great job Joe!!

Joe is very personable & helpful. He's also funny & he puts the info in terms that make it easy to understand. He'll take into consideration people's situations. A lot of people did fail, but they also didn't study very well! If you can show you know the material but just suck at test taking he will consider that.Great teacher.

Personality-speaking, is a funny and interesting guy with his occasional pain-in-the-butt moments; but his tests are extremely difficult, he suggests optimally 18+ hours a week! 3/4 of the class would fail any given test - however, you MUST meet with him to discuss test grades, for he WILL raise them! Don't let your pride keep you from succeeding!

Joe's tests are hard but it helps if you read the notes and certain sections specified in book. I had a tough time on his tests because I'm not a big studier but still made an A. He definitely rewards effort and interest, if you show your trying. He is very personable. Always make office hours with him after a test to go over what you missed!!

His tests are really hard and arent really based on his lectures, but I have taken all of my tests and corrected them and brought them to him and he has given me credit, I went from an E to a B... Great guy, hilarious and a lot of fun! Dont take him if you are looking for a cake walk class!

I thought the class was very hard. When he said that you must spend at least 10 hours per week.. I agree. Tests were very hard, however, after going over the tests with Henry, he raised up my grade! I spent so much time for this class to get the grade I deserve.

Joe was the best teacher ever. If you take good notes, ask questions, pay attention in the class, and read from the textbook what seems unclear you will pass this class. Don't expect to be an easy class and easy A. Do your work and be serious about class and he'll help you.The class tests are hard but don't make thinks harder than they are.

Joe is an AMAZING teacher, not to mention hilarious. If you dont have a sence of humor he's prob not the teacher for you. He made class fun and is always willing to answer ?'s and help out. Get your work done and study and you will pass w/o a problem.

Henry's a great teacher. I'd heard from others that his class was super hard, but I did very well in it. He jokes all the time and is available for office hours, I would definetely recommend him.

OK, first off all, I'm an A student, and NOT a lazy one just looking to get through. I knew Mr. Joe's class is going to be very challenging, however, I had no idea that his tests and completely unrelated to the material he teaches in the class. I PASSED the class with a B, but I will take it again cause I feel like I learned NOTHING. Please Retire!

I have a GPA of 3.75 and this class left me hoping for a B. It isn't too hard but you have to study everything little thing in the text b/c the question that are on the test are random. And the reading is a lot, like 8 chapters in three weeks was the first one. So unless you have time to do that I would suggest another class.

I took his class a couple years ago and yes it was very hard but I feel like I learned so much!!!! and that is probably b/c he pushed students to study so much..He is funny and thats makes class so fun..I now I have a child so I don't think I could handle the intensity of his class w/a kid and bills but if you have the time its soo worth it!!!

I had Joe for lab and he was realy funny. He makes his class intresting and when he lectures you find yourself paying attention. If you have questions he is willing to answer them and he answers them in a clear and understanding way. Great teacher, class was pretty easy, but that may just be because the way he taught it.

This class can be discouraging, but if you write "everything" that the instructor says during lecture and lab and follow-up with reading the assigned chapters in the text, you will do just fine. I went from a "d" to a "b" and while most of the students tried to be the teacher's pet, I just did what I recommended to you and made it through.

I took Joe for both lecture and lab, he is cool and funny, but hes test were really hard. no study guides and the questions are written in a way to confuse you, wich doesnt help. Lab, he checks the manuals so make sure you have everything in them.Hard class if you are not good with independent sutdy. I dropped the class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. His tests are impossibly hard and he does not give study guides. Almost every student in the class has failed every test. Avoid taking this teacher unless you want to study hard and still not recieve a good grade. I liked biology until this professor.

Incredibly easy class. If you paid attention in biology class during high school, you should be fine. Yes, his questions may be tricky, but they're based off of basic and fundamental concepts, and if you don't know how to apply them, you really need to study more.

This was the hardest class I've ever taken to get an 'A'. It required the most studying I've ever done in my life. Classes shouldn't be this hard. Not only was there a lot of material to learn, but the test questions were hard to understand. He should have kept the questions more simple. It's only a 1st semester biology class.

He is an amazing professor. Very knowledgeable, smart and funny. His lectures are the best!!! You will never get bored!! My only recommendation is to study hard and never miss a class. His exams are hard and tricky.. After all, its worth to take his class. Study and enjoy it!!! ;) Good luck!

Joe Henry ONLY cares if YOU care! He expects students to know the material AND be able to utilize the information. If you plan on taking his class just to get a grade, I recommend finding another instructor. However, if you really want to learn Biology and want a knowledgeable AND entertaining instructor, I HIGHLY recommend JOE HENRY!

This teacher was fun in the lectures. you need to take the best notes of your life because thats where he gets his test questions. His tests are written confusing on purpose because "life is unfair" most people fail tests but allows make up points. no homework all points are from tests and lab book. overall fun but he is a sarcastic smart ass

He's a tough teacher, no doubt. But he's willing to help as long as you're willing to learn, just like a professor should be. His tests are quite challenging, so paying attention and taking good notes in lecture is elemental. If you're an attentive, organized student with a sense of humor, his class is for you.
