Best professor to take - very easy - Don't take policka
Great teacher. Knows his stuff.
Take this guy! He keeps the class interesting and isn't hard on his students. No HW, easy tests and he's helpful. Also he is a very GENEROUS grader!
Great professor, explains the material very good. Knows his stuff.
he's a bad teacher. says "aum" a million times and is boring as hell. u don't learn much from his lectures either. if u just want an easy grade without learning then i guess u could take him. homeworks aren't collected and doesn't take attendance.
EXTREMELY BORING. Just reads from the book and talks about his personal life. Tests are not that hard, but have to come to class everyday. Couldn't wait for this class to be over.
Great professor and a very nice guy. If you need help just ask and he will help you. Very generous grater. Just take him
The easiest and funniest guy. Take him and you are guatanted to A. 2 midterms, final noncumulitive, no HW, nothing. Gives good helpful reviews.
He is the greatest prof in the whole school. Seriously if you want to learn plenty and actually get a decent grade, then definatelly take him. Also very helpfull if you have a problem, answers all questions+ awesome exam reviews. After his class i actually wanted to take more classes with him.
I dont know what these people are talking about. He preaches efficiency but he's the most inefficient professor. wastes a lot of time, lets out late each class, reads straight from the study guide, no practice problems, tells the worst jokes. I cant wait for this class to be over.
He's definitely knows alot about the subject but is not very effective in getting the message across. He's a good person but his teaching style tends to be a bit boring. He's easily approachable and emphasizes the fact that he is available if you have any problems. Test are from the notes, what you don't understand just ask. "A" potential class.
He is the worst grader and has no sympathy whatsoever, he swears that he is the best however he is the worst, he embaraces u next to everyone and is veeeeeeeeeeerry unhelpful. Worst grader only good thing about this class was no hws and dosent take attendance but beaware he knows everyones face in the class and like who shows and who dosent
he dosent teach very ineffecient, dosent take attendacne but knows who you are when it comes to grading, very rude and obnoxious, when you call him he has a heartattack and is the latest grader, i worked my as- off in this class and got a C-, he also has his favorite students
very easy, but its true that class is boring, some times he cuts some good jokes. if you showed up for the class u should end up with a good grade. easy grader but sometimes confused about exam, type of exam. I end up with an A, if you attend his class regularly dosen't matter late or early you will be fine. Want a good grade take him!
I personally don't think he has favorites. This is not the greatest prof, but if you are more focused on getting a good grade take his class. Attend class and take good notes and that's all you will need.
This guy is easy. He goes over basically everything that he wants you to know for the test in class. He gives reviews that tell you exactly what's going to be on the test, and basically he's an easy teacher. If you want you can pay attention and you'll learn, if you want don't pay attention and you'll still do good.
You don't have to go to class but there are a few things that he tells you only in class to help you. He gives you a review which tells you exactly what he will cover. My friend cheated and got an A-. I didn't cheat and got a B-. You have choices but I guarantee that anyone can get at least a B-. He doesn't like to give anyhting lower than that.
I don't know what these people are talking about but i am takins his class now, and he's REALLY TOUGH, apparently he's changed his grading policy. review is NOTHING like the tests. so undless you wanna do TONS of work, do your self a favor and - take someone else
has a lot of knowledge and experience, but can't teach very well. he is not organized and can't focus on the topic. Sometimes pretty boring. He relies too much on the textbook and concentrates too much on telling everyone what the text contains. His exam format is really bad. No formula sheet. Easy to get a good grade, but I didn't learn anything.
He is a compeletly absentminded pushover, with a straight-from-the-text-book teaching style. Very tedious and dull, generates no enthusiasm, let alone any respect for him, but the class is stupid easy. He'll tell you the questions for the exams. WARNING: You will pass, but learn NOTHING.
Great Professor! If you are interested in learning alot take this professor. Not an automatic A, but he is very helpful.
he is so so hard, i could not believe the amount of work he gives. THE EXAMS ARE REALLY HARD AND HE GIVES NO CURVES. IF I HAD THE CHANCE I WOULDN'T TAKE HIM, HE RUINED MY GPA
I enjoyed the course very much. True, I did have to study but it was worth it. Great professor if you want to learn finance and have fun in the process. What he taught is also helpful in the real world. Recommended for the serious learner.
If you are interested in learning about real world issues in finance take him. Best professor at Baruch. I wish the school had more professor's like him
Great professors. He is very nice with students. I took him in the summer and the class was very interesting. He also makes many jokes about his personal life. His class is relativly easy for a 4000 level class. Probably in general corporate finance is easier than investments. If you go to class you should get at least a B+.
I just loved this guy. He was hilarious in every single class. You come to class for his jokes and take notes. Tests come directly from what he went over class which is mostly formulas. Take him. You will have fun, learn and come out of it with a good grade. If you do miss class it becomes difficult to get a good grade though.
Boooooooring professor! Came to class at least 10 minutes late every single day, and let us out 10 minutes late. You don't have to go to class, because he doesn't take attendance and just reads from the book. Takes forever to give back exams. Go one or two days before the exam to get the review sheet. Take this class if you want to learn nothing!
this was the most useless professor i have ever had. who cares if he cracked jokes? i didn't learn a thing from him, only from reading the book. i have never felt so cheated out of my time or my tuition money before. i went to every class & didn't have 1 note worth studying at exam time. take him if you want to read this book.... a lot.
I loved his class! He is funny, and actually a very kind professor. If you have questions, he will make time for you, even he haven't had his dinner at 8pm! He gives review sheet and don't surprise us so you will know what you have to study. (Not like some mean tricky professors!) Take him if you want to get higher grade! Recommended.
Great professor! You will learn alot and you will enjoy yourself in the process. If you want to learn finance, take his course.
I came in with the expectation that this professor would elucidate me on the finer concepts of capital budgeting. I was utterly and miserably contradicted. Students with finance majors should be leery of this guy, Accounting students, he is your best friend. A pathetically easy class. I am still wondering, what did I learn in this class?
You really dont need to know more than what he teaches for now. YEs, if ur an Acc major it is even easier than he makes this class. The summer session was great. Highly recomended if you want ann A. Tests are just like class problems-exactly.
He is a nice person, that is an easy grader. If you are a finance major take him for an easy A. For us Accountants he is the Best. Funny man. I wonder why a nice jewish boy like him is not married?
Very easy class. You don't need to read the book, just study whatever he does in class. He will give you a review sheet before the exam so study that. Also make sure you buy the problem manual, all the answers of the review are there (maybe different numbers). He seems hard in the beginning but you'll change your mind after the first test.
I have a good background in finance and still learned alot from this Professor. He presents information in a way that makes learning easier and fun.
This professor teaches what you need to know and then some. He is very helpful if you do not understand. His exams are fair and if you follow his instructions you should do well in his class.
He is one of the best Prof. at Baruch coll. Teaches whats important in real life. Terms and methods that you need to know after you graduate. The BEST ...
He is funny, polite, and helpful. You can't ask for a better professor in Baruch than him. Take him, go to class, and you'll pass the class. It's important to copy and do the questions he gives in class because the exam questions are very similar.
Changed since before doesn't grade as easy and tests are harder then what I was told and rude to guys take someone else
He is a good professor.I took him during the summer. He works for SEC during the day, and he teaches during evening. He shows you how to do the questions, and his exam questions are so similar to the ones he gives you. Definitely take him!
he is nice person but not easy i dont knowwhy ppl rate him so easy bec ppl rate him easy which make prof to be lit bit hard soo ppl wont misunderstood him
Best Prof. in Baruch college. He gives 2-3 tests which are exactly the same as the problems he does in the class. There is no required attendance in the class. Take him if you can.
Ugh, hate him for making me take 3610 over by failing me, not helpful and very rude.
He is THE BEST Finance prof. Even though you do not think that you learn much with him, but after I too 4610 I realized that I have learned a lot and understand how it all works. I wish more Prof. wood be like him and test students on what they learn and not just try to fail them so they will pay more $$$ to the college.
he is ok..i check his rating n tak him but he is not as good as students rate him
Just want to say the midterm was so easy same to same question as they were done in the class. Final was no joke it looked like we never did anything in the class.
Wow... so much expectations for thie Prof. instead- huge disappointment. Midterm-very easy. Final killed everyone: 3 hours and we did not even finish. Killed everyone's GPA. The best students got Bs. Practice a lot for the final, cause problems will be much harder than what he teaches... I wouldn't take him again... Good luck!
He told he is changing his reputation from "easy" to "tough". His lectures are great, but its's true that the final exam was very difficult and nobody expected it. Lots of stuff we never studied before :/
DO NOT TAKE!!! Hard and unfair
Certainly not as good as he has been rated. This guy is boring and is class is uneventful. He cancels many classes and fills them w/ useless and rude replacements. During the classes that he doesn't cancel, he spends most of the time talking about nothing and never, ever lets you out early!
He is a great professor. I learnt so much and he was very helpful to me. He gave me some good ideas about how to learn. I wish he taught more finance courses. If you want to learn finance and willing to work at it then take this professor. Those that complain are those looking for an easy A without studying.
Each exams consists of a/b 10 MC questions, (=10pts each) which are much harder than what he taught in class. He usually only read textbook & waste time for meaningless talk. If you missed a question on exam just b/c of its trickiness, you lose 10 pts. No partial credit even if you understand the concept b/c exams are MC. No make-up/extra credit.
This professor is a waste of time. He doesn't activate blackboard so you have no communication with either the professor or your fellow students. There are no useful tools such as posted lecture notes or assignments. He teaches absolutely nothing in class but rather talks about females and his (lack of) dating life. Useless!
I don't like the way he teaches. From my point of view, he doesn't teach anything except making jokes that is not relate to the class. Easy to get A if you have a good background of FIN3000. He just repeats the stuff in FIN3000. I recommend him if you are not a finance major. if you are, please choose another one because you have to learn finance
To succeed in this class you must study on your own since the lectures are useless. Midterms will have 10 questions only, so if you get one wrong - good-bye A. The final is pretty intense.
Spends more than half of the semester teaching what you just learned in FIN3000. The exams suck cause there aren't enough ?'s for most to do well. It often seems like he doesn't even have a clue what he is teaching. This guy is a weirdo...
These comments about him are crazy. He is a great professor and I really learned alot in his class. He is always willing to help a student. Those that complain about him are not really interested in learning. His comments in his class made coming to class enjoyable.
Great teacher! He makes himself available if you need help in the course. Those that don't like him are expecting a good grade without studying. He is helping me out in the course. He also gave me some good ideas about getting a job. He is really a nice person.
he does teach. and he doesn prepare for his lectures. it's just a waste of time. He doesnt do the grades on a curve. GPA killer.
?Does not take attendance ?Comes to class late; finishes early (actual time 5:30-8:00, but changed it to 5:50-7:30) ?Midterm: 20 ques; 1:20 mins (does not allow entire class time for exam even thou 40 mins remains until class ends) ?Homework at will means no HW ?Personal study sessions available but are not needed if entire class time is utiliz
You must read the book at least ones before coming in class If you want to get B- you need to come to class and take good notes. For A you need to work hard. Do problems and you?ll get a!!! Exams are very tricky!! If you did well in fin 3000 you should get at least B. good luck!!! I definitely would take him again. PS NO FORMULA SHEET ON EXAMS.
Professor Hirsch is a very nice guy and it is apparent that he tries hard for his students. Unfortunately, he needs to change his teaching style. Lectures are not very helpful, and he doesn't offer any PRACTICE QUESTIONS WITH ANSWERS. Tells you to do problems in the textbook and allows to be handed in for grading...USELESS! NO FORMULA SHEET on exam

Great teacher and learned alot. You need to attend class, participate, and study. If you do all that, you will learn and he will help you get the best grade that you deserve. Worth taking if you are interested in learning and learning how to learn.
Fine teacher and really learned about finance. Attend class and study. Prof will help you. Ask questions if you dont understand. He gives a formula sheet and does give a fair test.
He is a great teacher and I learned a lot. I asked him questions and he spent time answering them. His exams are very fair. He always offers to help students and former students.
Very cool dude. Tests are fair but designed for you to get a B if you don't go the extra mile and read the text. Alwsys 2-3 questions on exams that you have to read book to clearly know how to answer. 3 MC exams 20 - 25 questions. 25% 25% 50%. No curving. No Attendance but enjoyed coming to class. Funny. Would def take again. - "Mr. President."
I am an accounting student. I took his class just to get enough creidts to graduate. Professor made the class very easy. Just take good notes and listen to his lectures. I got an A without reading the textbook in class. The exams were very easy compared to the accounting exams that I have had in my life.
Very helpful and he knows his stuff. Best thing about him is he teaches what you need to know for his class and in the job market. His course is not easy and you do have to study. I wish Baruch had more teachers like him.
Very useless class. Talk about wasting time. He teaches but the stuff you learn won't get you far. Not as easy as it looks. You will have to study to get an A. I know several people who studied hard and only getting B or B+. If you aren't going to study I suggest you choose someone else.
Not particularly good class. Exams are not similar to class notes and professor isn't very useful when students ask questions after class. You will have to know your finance stuff to do well. I would recommend another professor if you really want to learn some finance for your future and get a better grade.
Great professor and he explains material very well. If you want to do well in his class you need to read the book, attend every class, and do the homework. He is also very helpful to me. Those that complain are looking for a good grade without doing any work.
2 exames, 1 cumulative final. Textbook is needed. Class notes are needed, but doesn't explain his stuff clearly(That's why textbook is needed). 40%+ drop rate after the 2nd midterm and claims the class did fine. A overall dull class compare to investment. More like a MGT+ACC class. Not recommended.
He's probably the best out of the other finance profs for 3610 and he's a nice guy, but he's not that great or helpful. For the final review he didn't want to do practice problems because he claimed it wouldn't help since every question has different numbers. Given a choice I would take him again just cuz I've heard bad things about the other profs
So far he is the best professor I had at Baruch.I did homework and read the book but class lectures were the most helpful. If you want he will spend time with you and help you out not like other professors. He also likes to share his business experience which is great.
Take him only if you read the book, do homework, and come to class. His exams are not easy if you do not study. He will help you out. I could have done better in his class if I would have spent more time studying. He is very nice and better than most of the other professors.
Easy professor. 2midterms fairly easy 1final harder than midterms. Class lecture very boring. In 1hr he will cover only 2 problems which sucks. He is way too nice that students don't listen .
Take him if you want to learn finance the way it should be taught. Spends time in class explaining how to solve not only one question but lots of questions that are like the one he is explaining. He is nice to his students and willing to help you out.
Can someone tells me if this prof allows Formula Sheets for Midterms and Final ?????It would help a lot. And does he count HW ?? Thanks !
Finance expert. Not a good professor. He takes homework and gives feedback, but refuses to provide any additional time to help you understand the material. The excuse he gave is that his work is already too busy.So it would be too much for him.Perhaps it is time to find another easier job?Elementary school teacher sounds pretty good.
Please avoid.....this guy does not give any extra credits
I learnt alot about finance and found the professor helpful. You have to be prepared before class by reading the chapter and doing the homework. His experience helps alot in understanding the material discussed in class.
He makes it easy before the prof review and the final is unrealistically long and hard!!
Homework and exams are from questions in the textbook so no surprises. If you do homework and come to class you can get a good grade. Prof spent time helping me with homework. He is one of the better prof at Baruch.
Please avoid....this guy is not serious about teaching at all. Skips many important finance concepts, and lectures are quite boring.
Professor knows finance and if you do homework and hand it in he then helps you. He spent time showing me mistakes in my homework which helped me do better on the exam. Exam was fair.
He is a great professor, and you will learn a lot from the class! Worth taking.
Prof is a really good teacher. He made the required readings easier to understand and gave lots of real world examples. I enjoyed his class.
There is such a disparity between the concepts that he teaches and what is presented on the exams. This class can be very frustrating because you do not know what to focus on. Try to avoid if possible. Nice guy though.
There is a very high drop rate for this class, and I think it is because he doesn't spend time on the important concepts that will be tested.
You need to commit a lot of time to this class. Also, half of the class session is spent talking about stuff that you really don't need to know and won't be tested.
He is one of those teachers who is extremely smart, but can't communicate the material to his students, so the students suffer. Good guy to listen to, but hard to do good in his class.
I'm taking professor Hirsch for 3610, and I find myself reviewing notes every night to learn the concepts. His doesn't get the information across in a manner that easy to interpret. Frustrating.
I have taken Prof Hirsch twice and he is great. His class is tough to get in to because he teaches what you need to know. His slides and notes are very helpful and questions come from the textbook.
Not easy but very fair. You need to study to get a good grade. I attended class and learned a lot. He helps you out if you ask and he helped me to get an internship and a job.
Took two courses with Prof. Hirsch. He helps out with slides, notes, and gives answers to the practice questions which are on the exams. You do need to study if you want a good grade. Likes to help out students and helped me prepare for an interview for an internship.
Attend his classes because he explains the material and he is available to help you if you have questions. He is also helping me with my resume and has good suggestions about how to do well on an interview.
Teaches what you need to know for exams and the real world. No extra credit but exams are very fair. Nice person and will help you in the course and gave me good advice about getting an internship.
Good professor! PPT slides and notes were good and exams were fair. It helps to come to class.
He knows nothing and just reads the slides in his class. Any question you ask him, the answer is the only one" it depends". He is very lazy and always put the review sheet on the last time that make you don't have time to ask question. Avoid him, don't waste your time and money on him.
He is a great prof! Professor provides PowerPoint slides with notes and questions and answers that helps prepare for exams. He is always available to answer questions. In class he presents lots of real world examples.
This Professor is willing to spend time if you need it. His PPT slides and notes are great and his Q&A helped me prepare for his tests. He knows a lot about finance and also talks in class about the 'real world' of finance which is great now that I found a job in the field.
Professor is very fair. His powerpoint slides, notes, and discussion in class helps prepare for his tests which are not easy. He also gives real world examples which is really good to hear if you are looking for a job in finance.
This Professor gave me the worst grade I have gotten in my entire college career. He posts your final grade at the last minute, no time to even see the exam or review with him, and gives zero extra credit. The last 3 chapters he taught us were in a two week span aka 4 classes and gives you the review material on very short notice.
His answer to literally EVERYTHING is "it depends". Lectures in a monotone voice, waste of coming to class. This class taught me absolutely nothing useful. Would not take this if you want to actually learn something beyond regurgitating textbook info that you will never see again in a real life job
Great professor. He gives questions and solutions that will be on the exam. Also, his real world examples are very helpful and intersting. Great Professor!
Talks in class about topics good to know in finance and will be on the exam. No surprises with his exams because he provides questions and answers beforehand. He also reviewed my resume and gave me good advice about interviews. I enjoyed taking his class.
No extra credit and you need to study but good PowerPoint slides with notes and all exam questions come from study questions and answers. In class, covers chapters in the textbook and sometimes mentions how it applies to the financial industry. Overall, very fair and helpful.
Took last semester and highly recommended. Provides study Q&A after each chapter and addditional Q&A before each exam. Helps to attend class to know what he spends time discussing which often is on exams. Go to office hours if you have questions or need advice about a resume, job, or grad school.
I enjoyed his class and he presents topics so that they are interesting and useful if you want to work in finance. Also topics covered in class are on the exam and he gives out Q&A to help prepare for the exam. He also gave me good advice about looking for a job, graduate school and he reviewed my resume.
In class he covers topics you need to know and then talks about how its done in the workplace. You can tell that he enjoys to teach. Exams are not so easy but they are fair because he gives study questions and gave the class some extra credit. Very good professor.
Professor Hirsch did not teach at all, the only what he did just posted exams. He did not post any lectures. 50 questions 75 minutes on the exam. You will learn by yourself, the professor will not help you. If you ask him a question, you will get a flurry answer, it looks like he either does not know the answer or too lazy to give it. AVOID HIM!!!!
Prof Hirsch was helpful during this very difficult semester. His PowerPoint slides had a lot of good information to explain the chapter. He answered all my emails and his study questions are similar to exam questions.
Wasn't a fan. His lecture slides are very dense with many notes buried within them. He's a nice guy but doesn't motivate too much to learn. Gives review before exams so study those, but don't count on them to help for the exams.
Prof. Hirsch helped me and I highly recommend him. His notes and prep for exam helped.
No extra credit but very nice. His notes are informative and gave questions to study to prepare for exams. It was a difficult semester for everyone but Prof. Hirsch kept in touch with us by email.
Professor Hirsch seems like a caring guy, but he stopped lecturing when courses went online during COVID19. You are only graded on exams, which are not too difficult. Essentially, all exams are based on the Q&A docs posted to BB 1 week prior. The Q&As can be lengthy, so work on the chapter solutions in the meantime. It's very possible to get an A.
Prof Hirsch gave good course notes and exam questions. No extra credit and grade based on exams. He is caring and helpful and did a good job even after going to distance learning.
Professor Hirsch provides very good class notes and questions with answers to prepare for his exams which are very fair. He does not give extra credit because he does not have to curve and course grade is based on score on exams. Ask for help if you need it because he is a really nice person and he helped me.
By far the worst professor taken in Baruch and probably the worst in NY. He is a completely mess and literally copies the textbook words (exactly as written) and places into a PPT. He asserts that he is in the field of investment analysis but isn't. The notes he provides is misguiding, as it contradicts with the textbook, GPA killer. Don't take.
Professor Hirsch is a dedicated educator. You have to study but he provides good PowerPoint slides and notes, study questions, and Zoom sessions. Tests are not easy but if you work and email him he responds quickly and is helpful.
Grades are from 4 exams, no homework or case study like other profs. Exams are doable and he provides a ton of review questions that are exactly the same on the exam or similar for you to study. Offers a lot of other study materials and notes. His lectures are like podcast and no recorded lectures. Genuinely cares about his students and hilarious.
He was a nice person but online class was too hard. Take someone in-person to get an easy semester.
Not easy and you have to review lots of information he provides. But study questions with answers very helpful for preparing for tests. Nice person and I enjoyed the course.
He is a nice guy! But teaching wise.... the worst. Reads off the slides and makes everything extra extra confusing!! Didn't learn much from the class sadly.
Nice guy! He provides power point slides and notes with so much information but his zoom presentation and written notes and tons of practice questions with answers really help. I wish other teachers at Baruch would do the same.
Exam structure is TERRIBLE. All math questions are fill in, resulting in constant rounding errors. You have to rely on his diligence to fix it. Sometimes he deducts arbitrarily. He never allows you to see where you were marked wrong, refuses to let you backtrack, or to change format to MC, despite repeated requests from multiple students. AVOID.
Professor provides lots of information to prepare for exams which come from study questions. Responds quickly to emails and set up a one-on-one Zoom session to discuss my exam and advice about internships. I know of at least five other students who he did the same. Really good professor!
Wish he allowed backtracking but very fair. Always finds time to respond via email or Zoom. Does not rely on Blackboard to grade exams like other professors but goes over to make sure grade is correct. Test mostly from study questions.
Refused to ever record lectures no matter how many people asked. Deliberately changes wording of exam questions around to make them more confusing, which actually results in none of the answer choices being correct. When he changed grading for the final to allow answers within a wider margin of error, it deducted 10 pts from me.
Would like a curve and wish there was backtracking but otherwise very very fair. Exam questions come from lots of study questions and answers. Sometimes changes words or numbers for the exam but the answers is always there. Gives written notes of every Zoom lecture which is better than audio because you can not always hear it so well.
Very nice guy--but that's the only good thing to be said. Wouldn't ever record lectures no matter how many students asked. Deliberately makes a mess of exam question wording such that they become incomprehensible and there's no right answer. Deducts without telling why, doesn't allow you to see where you were marked wrong. HORRIBLE, NEVER TAKE.
Great professor. Only changes a few study questions on the exam otherwise the same. Helpful and very fair.
I would definitely take again for another course! He does not record Zoom class but provides an outline which is more helpful. Study questions and ppt slides and notes. Never deducted points on my exam.
Very fair professor. I had to wait a semester to get in to his course because it fills up quickly. Im glad I waited. PPT slides, summary notes for each chapter, and study questions for every exam. Exam questions very fair if you study.
Professor Hirsch is a very sweet guy. He is always willing to meet out of class regarding material or anything professional. That being said, lectures weren't so helpful, he basically just read off of the slides which he provides on Blackboard. Study the problems he gives out before the exam and the lectures (with the notes) and you should be fine.
Don't get me wrong. He basically doesn't tech you anything in class. Just read through some simple concepts during class for an hour and you will realize you learn nothing. You need to study on your own. No HW. Only exams. Take him if you are a self-learning dude.
Prof provides lots of material to study and prepare for exams. You have to read but if you do you can do well on exams because questions are similar to handouts. Lectures focus on topics which may be on exam or are good to know. Overall, I am glad that I am taking the course.
Guys please do yourself a favor and avoid taking this Professor at all costs if you're goal is to learn and have a stellar GPA along the process. His class is lecture heavy and your grade is weighed on 3 quizzes, his quizzes are extremely brutal, there are 50-60 questions on every quiz and you get about 80 minutes to answer them, he shows no mercy.
I enjoyed taking professor Hirsch because he provides some real world examples and lots of review questions with solutions. There is lots to learn and and grade based on three exams and a final. Not easy but he is a nice person.
Lectures are heavy and exams are difficult.
Zoom session provides overview, notes and study questions with answers helpful to prepare for exams. Responds to emails quickly. Will spend time if you ask to help clarify.
A Nice Guy but doesn't really know how to teach. He will go over things in a way that when lecture ends you will realize that you really didn't learn much. Will skip over important concept at times that would be in exams. Only good things are his notes and question sheets which makes you pass his brutal 50 question exams. Avoid him Not really good.
Covers topics you need to know but you have to read and work in this course. His notes helpful and if you put in the time you can do okay.
Avoid him. You won't learn anything. He just rambles the whole class and won't even use the slides. Very unorganized. You could sit tight and want to take notes but there is nothing to take notes from because he just talks and talks and talks with no order. And no clear grading system. Take someone else!!
Provides lots of study materials and Zoom notes which you should read before his lectures because his lectures only cover the main topics. If you reach out to him he will spend time helping you to understand things.
You need to read the handouts before class because he covers the main topics. Gives out Q&A and other helpful information. If you reach out to him, he will reply and spend time if you have questions. Exams are not easy but fair.
Lectures cover main points of chapters so you need to read handouts before class. If you do you will be okay. Exams are not easy but fair because they are similar to Q&A he provides after each chapter. If you email him he will reply quickly.
Solid choice! a bit older and can have an attitude at times but you'll learn what you need. He has a no bs attitude so don't think you can miss attendance or anything else like that. Work hard and participate to get an A
I barely came to his lectures, however when I did he was very nice and knowlagable. He curved everything a lot! There were 3 quizzes out of which only 2 best affected the grade. 2 HWs per week. Easy A if you are good at reviewing homeworks, notes and slides. He also would respond to emails in a timely manner, cool guy!
Class was pretty boring as he only read from slides. Weekly hw and quizzes on connect. midterms and final were in person. He does drop the lowest test grade so be sure to do well on them. Overall the teacher isnt bad but the material is heavy. Attendance isnt mandatory but he will play favorites if he sees you often (extra credit).
I came to almost every class. His lectures were helpful because he explained the slides so I understood it better. He was very nice and knows the subject. There was a curve and he dropped the lowest grade. Not an easy A but very fair. He always responded to my emails. A very kind person.
Read the chapters and you'll do well. Pre and post chapter assignments due each week. 3 quizzes which are curved and he drops the lowest one.
Material is pretty easy. You can get an A just looking through the slides and not going to class. Homeworks are easy and will teach you how to solve the problems.
He's a caring, responsible professor. You need to do 2 ez HW every week. You have to take 3 quizzes and he will drop the lowest score. The final has 40 questions and counts for 40% of your grade. For quizzes and the final, just need to repeat the HW over and over again, and you will find out 85% of the questions are from the HW.
The professor provides helpful resources like Zoom notes and Q&As, but you need to put in the work to do well. Use Unstuck ai alongside the textbook and attend office hours for extra support.
Worst professor i have taken in Baruch. Everything like homework, quizzes, and lectures is confusing.
Knows finance and helpful if you ask him. Provides lots of study tools to help prepare for quizzes. Need to study to keep up. Drops lowest grade on one of three quizzes.
The easiest professor at Baruch take him. Easy A, just boring at lectures but if you study you will do great.
The course is not easy but prof knows finance and is interesting because he shares real-world examples with class. Drops the lowest quiz score and one homework. Exams are fair and he does a good job preparing class.
Class is straightforward. Two weekly assignments - not graded and takes no time (20%), 3 quizzes, he drops the lowest (40%), and a final (40%). As long as you focus on the homework questions and read his class presentations, you will do fine. He gives hints on the quizzes and exams. Overall, he is a cool prof. Definitely would take again!!
If you want to actually learn then do not take him as he is very boring and will put you to sleep. However if you just want a good grade then take him because all of his quizzes and the final is taken from the hw questions which are easy as is
Nice prof. Focuses on real-world issues and knows lots about financial industry. Drops lowest quiz score, drops some missed assignments. Good review before exams and hints on exams. Would take again.
