The class is easy...The only thing u have to take seriously is the projects. He grades tough on those... But overall a really cool guy. I got an "A" in the class.
By far the worst professor I've ever had, he can care less about the class-----NOT PROFESSIONAL!! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND PICK SOMEONE ELSE
He was the best teacher I've had here at LACC. Made learning fun and interesting, I have recommended his class to all my friends.
Good teacher, very down to earth and a funny. No homework, very few notes.Class is very easy, just take your projects seriously. ( he accepts late work too!) Tests are really easy too, u dont learn much, dont really use textbook either.
He’s really funny, use to be a standup comedian. His lectures taper off by the end of the semester although he covers more chapters than any other Poli Sci class; tests are actually fun and interesting. It’s a real “hands on” class. There is “a lot of little” as he says, e.g. there is a lot of legwork involved in his projects. It’s a fun class.
He was a wonderful teacher. Had the best time in his class. One of the BEST professors at LACC, makes you look forward to actually coming in to class. Do the work and you'll be ok (it is not difficult, its fun actually).
Excellent professor. Take his class, he knows what he teaches and is passionate about his job. The projects are cool and fun.
professor meyer uses unconventional methods of teaching, Which i found more entertaining and helpful learning experience. He doesn't emphasize test scores as a main importance, but understanding the material and hands on activites are his methods of teaching. Really enjoyed the class. two thumbs up
In short, he's a funny professor. It seemed that he was always enjoying teaching. He doesn't make the lecture boring. He lets you solve the problems in quizzes with other students. We have lots of papers & homeworks to do, however, he gives you a good grade if you show an effort, that is, he is not a hard grader. Plus, his final was not difficult!
professor meyer is the bomb. No UGLY ENGLISH with him straight talk. Funny as heck you learn alot the only way you get a low grade is if YOU do not do the work. Projects are fun clear cut and he explains the material very simply. I am glad he teaches here. You will not regret hic class i looked forward his class.
he is an ok teacher. very demanding also confusing. sometimes you dont get his point of view. so if you r not up to working hard dont try to take his class. his personality isn't that cool and also not friendly. it will take you a while to get to know him . good luck.
I took this class spring '06. FUN class! Makes the class interesting and fun! If you take this class, start working on your PROJECTS and ONLINE quizzes, as long as you do your online ON TIME, you'll get FULL credit regardless!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
Now excuse me folks...but did I detect a man who has **** feelings toward minorities? Was it just me or did I get the feeling that he hates blacks, Hispanics and Asians...? Hello? Got out before he could drop some more coded racial insults.
this teacher is wack!!! honestly i didn't learn jack in his class!!! all he would do is talk and cuss.. wow what a teacher!! what a waste of time!!! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!
The best professor I have had so far. Really smart common sense guy.
A good teacher, very helpful. His exams are extremely easy, usually done in groups. His class is based on attendance and being on time. Fulfilling his projects (not hard) and completing online and in class exams. He doesn't make the class impossible. Has a great sense of Humor!
This is the best teacher I have ever had in my 4 years of college. His lectures are clear, and if you missed something you can find his lectures online. He is not a hard greater, as long as you do all your work on time . Don't be alarmed with his personality, he has different personalities you'll get used to. I took him for summer 06 dont regret it
I took his class this spring and it was easy... !! I got an A in the class and all i had to really do is show up to class and do the work.... His tests are done in groups and he makes them into games... one of them was a game show type thing... do yourself a favor and take his class very easy!
Great Teacher. Very Knowledgeable. If you do the work then you’ll get an A. If you miss an assignment, you will have difficulty catching up. He has a great sense of humor but is not politically correct. He says it how it is. Doesn't like whinning. Some people may be offended by his radical comments. If you are not mature enough to handle it…take an

He seems to think hes still a stand-up comic. Talks in a very animated and satirical way. Hard to take seriously, but he doesn't really care if you do. Complains about lazy students, but doesn't return assignments on time or remember test days. Very knowledgable, but doesn't really talk about politics, government or the textbook. I dont recommend
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS , U GOING TO REGERET ONCE U TAKE IT. he is nice, but it seems more like a english class than pol sci. lots of writtings and research papers. 100% i do not recommend . assiagnments give me lots of pain. listen to me, do not choose him.
Amazing teacher. Very EASY! all u have to do is go to sclass and do the projects, which are pretty simple. He is very funny and cares about eduction so much. he is one of the best teachers I have ever had/ :)
His class is easy. However, he is very demanding with low tolerance. He is not friendly and very rude with an annoying personality. He does not grade fairly!!!!!!
He is one of the best [email protected] demand is very simple, do his project and take multiple choice test online which is very easy. Very fair grading on the projects. Final is a bit harder, you will have to read the book for multiple choice and follow the lecture for the final essay. You will be fine.
Can be rude if u late...demanding with work just do all and u will get and A..big projects and essays but if i did it u could!
Easy class as long as you do all the work. He is very fair when it comes to grading. The final is much harder, but if you do all the work you can pretty much fail the final and still get and A or B.
He is a pretty good teacher. Easy A if you just do the easy assignment.
Loved his class. Cool guy. Easy going. Learning wise? 5, out of 10.
He is a good guy. Cynic but intelligent. His class does make you think about how and why things work the way they work in the US. Lots of assignments, but they are easy and fun if you are into the subject. He can be rude (especially if you are late!) but if you need his help he'll be there for you
Prof. Meyer is smart, funny and fair. Even thought he is a democrat, he does not teach the class completely slanted. His lectures are entertaining, but he does not like participation. Since he is the only one talking, it can get really boring. Don't be late, do the assignments and you will be fine.
This Professor is not approachable. He like the sound of his own voice and is full of himself. He is a lame liberal that failed at being a comic. You will see that in his lecture. The book he uses is lame Countries and Concepts Miachael G Roskin. If your a Poli Sci major good luck. Avoid taking his class.
He is a character. Brings humor and heavy on the sarcasm. A lot of his lectures are filled with rants about society. His grading system is fair. He demands more than the average community college professor, but this is great preparation if you plan on going to a four year school. He will publicly embarrass you if you are late to class though.
Class was pretty relaxed but does require some effort every two weeks. 3 take home exams and 1 final. All are take home ad essay format. He is easy on the grading. 1 paper and 1 presentation. as long as you keep up with the easy work, it is very easy.
If you're self-disciplined, take him! Took his PS 7 Online. Got an A, but still have mixed feelings about the class. His website format gave me a headache, & often he would be out of communication for a week. Hard to get a hold of & scatterbrained, but good textbook & good essay topics to write about- his questions really made me think and explore.
Professor Meyer is one of the best individuals you will meet! He is very knowledgeable, extremely funny, and interesting to listen to! He cannot stand immature students, who think that they are still in high school. If you put in decent amount of work, and be respectful in class, you will definitely get an A! Overall, wonderful professor!
I love him!!!! Hes hilarious, best personality ever, I would take every subject with him is he taught it. Just do all your assignments, be present for quizzes and u should get an A!!
Great Online class-you need to be independent and motivated, but it's well worth it. You'll learn a lot about political science that you can take with you for life and if you apply yourself to the projects you'll fall in love with and become more invested in your city/state/country. Easy shmeazy if you do the work and turn it in on time.
Great Class-easy if you do all the assignments and turn in on time!
He is really cool , and will give you a good grade if you do all your homework. He is a really easy going guy and I will recommend him to all my friends that are going to take political science.
Best interested very rare sense of crude harsh humor will keep u interested all class long . Make sure u do all the assignments and u will pass the class
A very open-minded person.Love his political viewpoints. His class is fun. Just follow his assignments' instruction, turn in on time your assignments and go to class on time. You will get an A easily. (I even didn't read the book so much and still got an A for the summer class.)
Professor Meyer is the kind of person you like and dislike at the same time. He could be funny or a prick at times but he's cool. His class is well organized and as long as you follow his sylabus then you should be fine
I got to class during the time he asked everyone to be there for the mid term. He yelled at me, I cried. Then another young lady walked in after me with only 10 min. left to take the test and he let her take the midterm without a scan tron.
take online. easy class as long as you do the assignments. It can be a lot of writing, but he seems to barely read them and just give you full credit for doing the work. Quizzes were easy, you just email them to him. He's a bitter comedian in person, so may be better to stay away from in person, but I enjoyed online class.
I liked him. His instruction a little confusing from the beginning, but then you'll be use to it. He has assignments for every week and you just need to do all works on time, or he'll lower your points, it's not hard, and it looks like he doesnt even read your essays, so don't worry, take him. For final you have to go to college, all other works is online. I got an A. Take him.
when it comes to grades, he is a real softie. He explains things very well, i was intimidated to approach him, but when i did, he was pretty nice actually. He yells occasionally and seems strict but he will pass you with a good grade.
I took online class with him. It was easy, but I don't like his fake personality. He has two different face that one for public one for real life. Just don't expect from him anything and do your works. You will have good a grade.
Very easy professor. Must admit, class can be very boring. He takes attendance randomly, so you must be there or you lose participation points. The only difficult part about this class was the 10 page essay. One final exam and a couple online quizzes you can take over and over again. Don't be lazy with research though, or else he will take points.
By far one of the greatest professors at LACC. Attend all of his classes and just DO THE WORK (don't get lazy) and you will pass with a good grade. Hardest part of his class is the 10 page essay, which was still easy. He's a character. LOVED his class and him. Easy A!
attendance is mandatory, also be on time. His class is easy but there is a lot of work so do not fall behind. The only hardest things are the two essays but if you do enough research it is easy. Also, get to know him and go to his office hours. There is no need to buy the book, I did not use at all and I got an A.
He is very loud and intimidating, but he is funny and kind of nice. Do your work, don't be late to class, go to class every day, try to take notes, participate, and study. If you don't do those things you'll fail & he will put you on the spot in front of the whole class. He got really pissed at people who were late esp if they had late work
Take him and you got your free A already. Don't be inteimidated by the bunch of assignments given. They are all easy, but time consuming. Everybody guessed on the final and still got and A.
He starts off real strict and intimidating but it's all to weed out the slackers, after the first week he's completely kick back and relaxed. Doesn't take roll, all the quizzes and assignments are online. Just do the work and papers and get an A.
Took him last semester. Was very intimidating but after time he was very kind and sweet. Has a lot of jokes he says he was a comedian but who knows. He has about 2 writing assignments that are supposed to be about 8 pages long. Not hard at all he is leanant with grading. and test and quizes are online and can do multiple times. Not a difficult clas
It is very easy class, most of the people I know passed the class with an A or B, Of course you have to do your part (quiz every week, essay, & 10 page research paper) it was a great class thank you professor!!!!!!!
Joe Myer has not given up his stand up act, he just practices in front of a captive audience of pol sci students. He is occasionally funny, but mostly boorish and ridiculous. This class should have been interesting but instead it was a total waste of time, I grabbed my A and learned nothing.
Its an easy A if you just do your work. Its really simple. Quizzes every week, research papers with APA style, final essay, participation and class assignments. Really funny guy, he is very serious, bold and puts you on the spot if you come late or don't have your materials. I didn't learn anything but its a easy A, plus is transferable to UCCSU
Professor Meyer's class was awesome. His assignments teach lessons about the "real world"(ugly english, labor issues, and unions to name a few). If you take notes and actually read the book, you might learn a thing or two. He also gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. However, if you take yourself too seriously, this is not the class for you.
Rude, rude, rude. He reminds you to drop his class everyday. He sends rude emails for all his online classes. He is not respectful towards his students. He doesn't even know what respect is. He should not be teaching if he doesn't value helping students succeed.
This professor is honestly absolutely terrible at his job. He fails to teach about what the class is SUPPOSED to be about. During most of the long class periods u will have to listen to his lame jokes. Alot of work & he doesn't like be asked questions after class, very rude dismissive attitude towards his students. A terrible experience for anyone.
He is one of the laziest professor that LACC has, just as bad as 99.999% of the professors working for LACC.
He is rude, disrespectful and has no professional behavior at all. As far as motivating the student he can not even say a kind word to you. He is honestly a waste of money for the college since the job of a teacher is to instruct and teach students. He in a nutshell is what is wrong with the education system. We are paying his salary.
JUST DONT TAKE HIM.
He tells you to drop many times. He seems mean, rude, and will make you not want to stay. But let me tell you! take the time to tlk to him,hes not the guy he acts out to be in the beg. Hes funny and wont take lazy ppl ,Work is all done on etudes,His syllabus is your life in that class follow it and Its an EASY A. dont let him intimidate you,
He is mean, rude, constantly urges you to drop his class and is not at all flexible.
Professor Meyer is a great proffesor. I respect the fact that he is a down to earth person. He teaches every day real situations. He makes jokes in class which is fine with me, it makes learning fun. His syllabus explains everything for the semester, there is really not much he could explain if its on the syllabus.
He is extremely rude. I have a family history of mental disorder and he told me to drop the class if its too hard. Thats like telling me to kill myself because life is hard.
I took him online so I don't know what he's like in person. At first he's constantly telling you to drop, but as others have said I think he's just trying to scare away the slackers. If you do the work and stay on track, you'll be fine. Just be prepared for a lot of writing! (BTW, I only used the We The People text, never opened that CA Gov text)
Mr. Meyers online class was cool. I heard that he yelled at a student from his actual class. He's very tedious with his syllabus. He makes sure that you know his class isn't easy. If you're taking his class, I recommend that you take his online class because I hear he can be rough in person. Not tough, just do his work and you'll pass. Means well.
I took his online course, and never saw him. I enjoyed reading from him, can be sarcastic sometimes. I thought it was going to be a tough online course but this class was probably the most organized class I've ever had, everything you need to know is on the syllabus. He gives enough time to complete assignments. It cannot be any easier than that.
He is demanding. Just follow directions, pay attention to detail, and you should be fine. Maybe consider taking this class in a regular semester because a short winter semester can be overwhelming at times. You will learn. His syllabus is intimidating but the work can be done!
Don't let him scare you into dropping the class! He actually was pretty nice online. It's a really simple class, and as long as you follow directions on your assignments, you're good. He doesn't like the bare minimum, so when he says 500 words, he really means at least 550-600+ but the prompts for assignments were interesting enough to write more.
He tries to weed out lazy people the first couple of weeks of class. I had very low interest in this class, and having him online didn't help me gain any more of it. However, he still is good at explaining the chapters. If you follow the syllabus & keep up w/ the work, this class will be easy.
If you want a easy A class this is definitely not the one for you.... you have to write papers over 10 pages and like 5 through out the course. His class is very organized though but pretty tough. Know your APA style writing skills and always write MORE than he asks to get the better grade. 2500 words minimum? write 3600 for an A.
I didn't bother to read the book, and I got an A, though I don't know I'd recommend trying your luck. He's actually a really nice guy, and, at least from my experience, didn't get too specifically political, or care if you were of other persuasions. Good man. Would take again.
You will write ALOT. APA papers all day long. do not write the minimum. he wants to weed out the lazy people. just do the work and you will be fine. if you write a mediocre paper, that will be the grade you receive. Do the work, I don't know a thing about political topics and I managed to get an A...
I enjoyed the online class.
Amazing professor not hard to pass at all so muh knowledge to obtain so little time .just do the etudes assignments and the course project and show up hes a fair grader and a great professor
His final was too much. He gave us 7 essays and 2 of them were at least 2000 words and 5 other essays were at least 500 words. This is a hard class. Its a lot of work to get an A.
Professor Meyer is an amazing professor. They is a lot of work involved in his online class but it is not hard. Do more than what he asks. There are 5 written quizzes of 1000 words minimum, 3 essay exams of 2000 words minimum each with 8-12 scholarly sources minimum, one course project of 2500 words minimum with 10-20 scholarly sources minimum.
Writing heavy course (took him online/winter). Take his min word count seriously, he will dock off points if he feels its not up to his standards (500 min for quizzes, final had 2 Q's 1000 min + 5 Q's 250 min, final paper APA form 10 pg min body + DQ's). May seem like a lot but just pace yourself and put effort in your responses. A is possible.
You don't need the book if you have internet, which is everyone. He is tough but you know exactly what is due and when it's due, so if you fail it's your fault.
Currently taking his 7 week online class. It's fast paced since it's 7 weeks but it's fun! Just do the assignments & follow the instructions for them & I assure you will pass! Wish I took him on campus, he seems so funny & interesting. A lot to write, but absolutely doable, especially since the assignments are interesting & require your opinions.
Essay class but too much work!
This class was really fun. I thought it would be about memorizing vocabulary and tests every week but it was more essay driven based on your opinion and the readings. There were also fun projects thrown in like surveying your friends and family to determine political parties, and following organizations on social media and writing about them.
ANY online class comes with more work in my opinion but this class was enjoyable. 7 class discussions, 4 essay exams (one is the final), and a 10 page course project. That's it. Everything is subjective and based on your opinion so long as you can back it up based on your readings. I learned a lot in this class and enjoy how straightforward he is.
He's extremely rude! If you have a personal issue going on that kept you from logging on for the expected number of hours, he won't care! He'll drop you in a heartbeat. I will never take his class again.
He is honestly extremely rude. I have taken many classes online and he is the only one I have encountered that actually cares about the amount of time spent on the class. Just leave a movie running while on canvas and you will be fine. Relatively easy grader. Just beware of rude messages when you are not online enough.
Extremely rude when you re not online enough. His messages are extremely rude. I would have dropped this class if this wasn't my last semester and absolutely necessary. Relatively easy grader and claims he knows effort even though I literally wrote all essays in two hours. 10/10 would not deal with this guy ever again!
His online course is pretty clearly laid out. It's only discussions and papers no actual tests, which is pretty amazing. He's also not a very hard grader, just follow his criteria. He grades on your effort, and papers are mostly opinion based, Idk why everyone else is complaining. If you have good work ethic, you can easily pull an A in this class.
Overall, it wasn't too bad. It's mostly an essay class, so there's definitely lots of writing. He's strict about word count and does not accept late submissions at all, which lowered my grade. That's my fault tho, If I had tried harder I would've gotten an A. Discussion posts are easy, just do them on time. Textbook pdf can be found online.
he is great! you must participate, post every week, 2 replies, exams are easy, work on your course project, the more material you research, use and CITE the better.
Aggressively miserable, says he enjoys teaching and then proceeds to work out his stand up from twenty years ago and then asks if he "can leave" thirty minutes in to class. If you dare to ask a question you'll get a loud, condescending response that is zero help. If you want to teach yourself about political science, go ahead and take this class.
I wish I had listened to the reviews before taking his class. Can't speak for the online class but the one on campus sucks. The material itself isn't hard, but his grading/feedback is subjective and he's rude if you try to ask for help or clarification. Cares more about essay word count than quality. I really love school but this was just not it.
The comments about this teacher from old students are correct. I was taking an online class and I wish I would have listened to the comments. He doesn't like to clarify his assignments, so to me that means he doesn't care about your success. He seems rude, online class, so I cant tell. Get ready to do 2500 word essays!
gives so much work. 500 word discussions every other week. respond to 2 people every other week. every week there is something to do. so much writing. start working on ur course project from the beginning. i started working on my 12 page essay for the course project the friday before. i also started my midterm around that time. lot of work
Professor Meyer is pretty sarcastic & can come off as intimidating, but he's not bad. I would recommend you take an online class instead of on-campus since he mostly went on tangents . His grading was not harsh but you do have to work for the grade . If you're fine with being more independent with classwork this class will be a good fit.
Another far left professor who will automatically fail you if you slightly disagree with him on a topic. Most of the two hour class is him complaining about Trump, teaching for about 30 minutes, and leaving 40 minutes early every day. If you take him, film it and show it to faculty.
I took his Political Science class online this past Winter semester. Since it was a condensed course there was a lot of reading and writing but overall the content is easy to grasp if you properly manage your time. Most essays are opinion based so as long as you convey you point of view thoroughly youll do good. Also, his expectations are clear.
He gave a lot of essays and they were very long essays. I ended up writing a 16 page essay for my final. It is a lot of writing and a couple discussions. He grades based on if you tried and if you hit the page limit. Easy grader but get ready to write.
He is a cool+ funny teacher, but he really makes you work for it. What you really have to focus on is the 3 essays which basically determine your whole grade. When he says he wants more than the minimum, he REALLY MEANS IT. IF YOU REALLY WANT AN A, DO EXTRA WORK- if it says to do 5 pages, do 8-10. Textbook- didn't even need it HW- fairly easy
Professor Meyer's summer class was a pretty tough five weeks. I read about 500 pages of the textbook and wrote about 60 pages, including all of the assignments and essays. If you want to get the maximum points,DO MORE than the minimum and make sure everything is in APA format. He was also very accessible and was happy to answer any questions I had.
So it's a lot of work, but a sure A. Do more than the minimum (50-100 words will do) or you will loose points! He is tough to deal with, but if you focus on the work it is a fun class! Get ready for a 13-15 APA paper though (toughest assignment).
i did not know what to expect during Covid but he has made it very easy. You have a discussion (min 500 words) weekly then you respond back to others the following week and that equals one discussion (takes 2 weeks) and there were about 7.. so honestly not much work. no mid term either. he is very easy on grading.
Great professor with a good work load. He is a great professor for polisci I actually failed my first polisci class and was dreading having to retake it but not with professor Meyer. He made it a great experience and I was so interested in the topics.
Lots of busywork, but an easy A as long as you do it all. Mostly opinion writing assignments, but he's not a hard grader and he's not out to get you. APA required for the course project. He uses an opensource online textbook, so no need to spend money.
Like the other comment, be prepared to write A LOT. I took this class during the winter session, but I'm not sure if the writing load would feel any lighter during the regular sessions. There's A LOT of writing and if you do the minimum word count, you wont get the grade. He'll either ace you or fail you depending on your effort, so show it.
Professor Meyer is a great professor that cares deeply about students learning! I took his Poli Science class online and greatly enjoyed the course. He used an ebook that was free which is very thoughtful as textbooks can be expensive. He went above and beyond to ensure that students were prepared and understood the assignments. Awesome teacher!!
Issues from the beginning. The syllabus had so many typos, this indicates he doesn't even care enough to proof read his own work. His explanation for assignments is extremely inadequate and confusing. In addition to all this he is a far left professor, he blames everything on "the rightwing". He's condescending and rude. Don't take the class.
This professor gives a lot of unnecessary homework and grades on the basis that the requirements are never enough. He doesn't teach at all, its a self-study class. Also he doesn't know how to use canvas AT ALL. Class is very unorganized. If you want to do insane amount of pointless homework and learn absolutely nothing this is the class for you.
The syllabus is out dated to 2018, so when you go back and try to find answers the stuff doesnt make sense. I totally get its an online class, theres a lot of writing to do, be prepared to research and get the topic right other wise you will fail. I had to withdraw because I was lost with all the assignments that were due.
He is an EASY grader. Syllabus is disorganized but was manageable. Would not recommend this class if you have difficulty writing or writing more than 500 words. To pass the class, just understand some basic concepts of each chapter then apply it to the assignments. There's no "wrong" answer so it really just takes the ability and willpower to write
After finishing his online summer class, he really is one of the worst professors I have ever took this year. He's very rude and doesn't care about people's feelings, expect a lot of homework and midterm essay along with a course project both on APA format, more than 10+ pages long. For a five week summer course, it was very a stressful class :(
AVOID this professor at all costs. He ego trips on the fact that you have to listen to him.extremely rude and not helpful. politically biased and this affects his teachings. gave a 10page paper and 500word discussions. lectures sound like an audition tape for a professor in an 80s movie. bad jokes, his Latin skills, and nonsense. AVOID AVOID !!!!!!
He did not lie when he said getting an A would be easy as long as you follow directions. Grade is heavily based on discussions and papers so be ready to read and write a lot. However, the topics were interesting to learn about. As long as you have solid points and go above the minimum word count you will get the full points. Great professor.
Great professor-a funny guy. Weekly essays aren't that hard; no research is needed. Just write what you think, and you'll get an A. Midterm and final papers are reasonable, and he'll help you develop a thesis. One thing is I suspect he goes more off word count for the grade.
To begin, this class was a winter class and to try to fit 15 weeks to 5 is hard. I understand that. Be prepared to write, A LOT. He's a tough grader and doesn't give enough feedback. If you get one thing wrong in the rubric, he's give you a 0 and is very cold about it when giving feedback. I don't recommend his class. 0/0 especially if its online.
This class was 8 weeks long, during spring. I did not understand anything of what we were learning. I felt that the assignments he gave were unnecessary. Personally, I love writing, but I absolutely hated how long the assignments were, for basic questions. Each discussion was about 500+ words.
Avoid this professor at all costs! So difficult and his grading is not good either he doesn't even explain to you why he gives you that grade. He gives way too many assignments and 500 words to write weekly.
This Professor is hilarious. Students must get involved in the lectures when the Professor asks questions, write weekly assignments that are not hard, and turn in the homework on time. If students need help the professor is there. Students make sure accommodations are in order before class. Overall Mr. Meyers is a great professor.
Never ever this "professor" again. eww.he uses AI detecter that provides false information about using Al. He messed up my grade because of "his Al detector". I'm going to contest my grade. Also, his manner of communication is very rude and careless. He literally communicated with me very disrespectfully and you are lucky if you will get a respond.
The worst professor ever. you should never ever take him. he messed up my grade because he believed I was using Al which isnt true. FYI profi you cant trust 100% those detecter. you will be lucky if you will receive a respond from him. his manner, using words, and tone of communication very rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional!!! eww never ever!
This person needs to learn what it is like to be a professor, not a clown who disrespects his students. The way he communicates is very disrespectful. It feels like you are talking to someone who belongs on the streets. This person definitely does not love students, so my question is, why is he working at a place called a college? #disrespectful
Prof. Meyer was great. Simply do over the minimum on the weekly essays its a easy 100%, literally just give your opinion on the prompts he gives you to answer. Do participate in class, at the end it matters. Lectures are long, but he tries to keep everyone participating by asking each person the same question. Would definitely take again. =D
I don't think this class was as bad as I thought it would be. The grading criteria was pretty straightforward, and you have to participate in discussions (go beyond the word limit! This is how you get full credit) as well as his mid-terms essays, some of the assignments, and his papers/final exams. In the end, you'll be okay.
Avoid this professor. He's disrespectful and gives 500-word discussions weekly. Is also a tough grader on few things that don't make sense.
The class has a manageable workload - just participate in discussions and complete the weekly essays. ChatGPT and unstuck study were super helpful for exam prep. Overall, a solid class with a fair grading system.
Worst professor ever!!!!!!! So rude, doesn't answer to emails. Grades super unfair. When he replies he gives and vague and short replies that don't make sense to what you're asking. Wouldn't ever take the professor again! Heads up!! You have to do 15 page essays
He tells you to use AI to outline your paper and then accuses you of using AI on your paper. Doesn't have office hours and will not make time to hear from you.
secret is to be able to make a robot write for you and get zero percent on the AI checker he uses. Many people like me know how to write without AI but it doesn't matter, because many times, it's going to somehow scan that you are using AI. A robot is the only thing that can write high word counts so start getting on the ball now and figure it out.
Joe Meyer does not care for his students. He bases his grading completely on his "AI Generator," which isn't accurate. If you try to deny his "findings," he will ignore you, or put you on blast. He will not hear you out nor will he respond to any messages. He is extremely unprofessional and disrespectful.
I took this professor for winter 2025, i knew the amount of work load was going to be tough and it really was. We had quite a few essays and long discussions but if you put in the work best believe you will pass. Do not use Chat gbt or any Ai because he will know! FYI the essays were connected to the final.
I recommend prof Meyer if you are willing to put in the work. There are several straightforward discussions & some major assignments. I was hesitant at first because many made it seem impossible, but once class started it was fine. I took 5 classes including this one and it is definitely manageable. Read the instructions and you'll be good.
