I am majoring in biochemistry because of this guy- he's that good. Chemistry is a difficult subject, but he explains it and breaks it down so you can understand it. He works with students that are having trouble, and he admits his mistakes. An awesome teacher.

This guy is very cool. Highly recommended.

He knows his stuff and is able to explain in ways everyone can understand. He has high standards, but will help everyone reach them. All you have to do is ask and he's there for you. The tests can be rough, but with homework and labs being 100 just for doing them, you can still get a good grade.

HE IS EASY ONLY IF YOU HAVE RECENT BACKGROUND IN CHEMISTRY. He does not hand out any worksheets for studying or any homework question to relate to the test question. NO BACKROUND in CHM AND you can study your bottom off and still FAIL HIS TEST!!!!!

Awesome Teacher! Never took Chemistry in my life (not even in high school) took him last semester and really enjoyed the class. As much as you can enjoy Chemistry. lol. I recommend him for any newby in Chemistry, but be prepared to study ultra hard for his test they can turn around and bite ya :)

Great teacher, if your serious! If you do the homework (8-12pblm) you get to pull it out and COPY (exact problem) for the quiz. Easy 100% Test are tough, but so is chemistry. A teacher is not supposed to be sensitive to your needs. Your in college! Miss a test, you can replace w/final. Wow, nice.

Joe is a quality professor who makes the class fun and he does in fact care very much for every one of his students. His tests are realistic and fair to the material. If you dont care to actually learn anything, take someone else. Joe will bend over backwards to accomodate anyone in his class.

He taught his intro class just like we had never heard the word chemistry. Goes over LOTS of example problems. Come to class, take good notes, and STUDY and you will do GREAT! Awesome teacher!

Professor King is awesome! I hated Chem befor I took him. I hate getting up early too, however, it is really easy for me to get up early becasue I really think he is funny, I get a lot out of class. If you are not good in Chem, take him. His class fills up very quick so sign up quick!

Dr. King is O.K. He is not hard, just do your homework and you'll do fine on tests. About his appearance; yes, he looks good, but his southern accent... Ouch, no way.

He is awesome. Hate chm until I took his class. He is very helpful, sometime to helpful. If you need help, you have to ask...he will not find you if you don't ask. Piece of advice- Do the question at the end of the ch.! Those prbs wil help prepare u 4 the test. Tests are fair. I took his 4 week class... very hard, but he makes a 7 hrs class fun!!

Dr. King is a good teacher. I felt I was not going to pass the class and was preparing to drop, so I talked to him. Joe told me to give it a chance, and I ended up with a B. Honestly, I probably didn't deserve it, he just thought I did. Last thing, I didn't get any negative vibes at all, but sometimes I think he felt like he was better then this.

Enjoyed the class - he needs to talk at the level of the students for basic chemistry class - he also teaches advanced chem. He needs to do more of a review for the final. The final was a big surprise, considering how well I did in the tests prior. I did score an A; but these are nothing more than helpful suggestions.

Dr. King is a fantastic teacher. That does not mean he is easy, he just cares about the students' success and is available for help if you need it. Word of advice: Do not depend on the final to make your grade-it was killer!

He is a wonderful teacher. One of the best i have ever had. I hadx never taken Chemistry before so i was a little worried but he taught as if no one knew annything about the subject. I definately recommend him.

I think he is a good teacher. He won't move onto another subject until everyone gets it. If you don't ask questions well then that is your fault. He is not as structured as other teachers, so if that is a problem for you then I wouldn't take him. If you read, do your practice questions and ask him questions you will be fine. He is an excellent teacher at the basic level. He takes his time and makes sure everyone understands. He is interesting to listen to if you dont mind a southern accent. No homework just tests and a speech. The speech is almost garrantied an A. His tests were a little difficult but managable if you study. He is willing to curve the class tests grade

Dr. King is THE BEST professor you can take for any chemistry. Organic chemistry is hard! Period! His test were a little harder than I expected, but if you do homework and work hard there should be no problems. Dr. King is AWESOME!

Easily the best professor I have ever had in my entire highschool and college education. He is very sympathetic to people's reasons and situations. He will help you anytime you need it. I wasn't looking foreward to chem, had never taken it before, but I made an A. Pay attention, take notes, and study. He's down to earth and funny so don't be afraid to ask questions or crack jokes. This was one of my favorite classes in college.

Organic chemistry is one of the toughest undergrad classes but I took CHM 2211C with King over the summer in 4 weeks, studied probably 2 hours before the test, and I got a B. I'm no genius, the class was just that easy (with a cheat sheet that he allows you to have). TAKE HIM OVER THE SUMMER- YOU WILL PASS GUARANTEED!!

Dr. King will help you if he can. If you have to take Chemistry, take him.

I can't recommend Dr. King enough. He's very laid back and manages to make chemistry a lot of fun. I took him for 1025c, 2045c and 2046c and made all A's. Don't be fooled though... you *DO* have to study hard but King makes the subject very approachable and has a great sense of humor. Take this guy if you need chemistry!!!

You have 3 tests and a final, a few labs, and a little presentation on any topic you want (as long as it can be tied to chemistry somehow). Attendance isn't mandatory but you should go, he's funny! I took this class after reading the ratings. I was disappointed. The guy wants to be cool and make it too easy to pass. It scares me the preparation he gives the students if you get a hard teacher for the following semester. We had just a few labs while we had to spend almost $40 in a lab manual. Study by yourself if you really want to learn.

Just one heck of an excellent teacher. In my opinion Dr. King blends the right amount of expectations on the student and the wisdom to understand what is important to hammer home. Professor King sincerely cares about his students. He teaches you what you need to know for the test step by step. Best part? He doesn't waste time teaching you irrelevant things, therefore you get out early! Here's a tip: listen CAREFULLY to what he says! Studying for a test is a whole lot easier if you understand the reasoning behind it.

Dr. Joe is a really nice teacher and very laid back. His test are a little hard but he is willing to help you any way he can. No homework required just a few activity worksheets.

Perhaps the best science teacher I've ever taken. I will continue the chemistry sequence all the way through Organic II with Dr King. Given the choice, I would take him for all my classes if it were possible. A+++.

I took Prof. King for the 8 week hybrid and got an A without having to even take the final (was able to use that as my drop grade). I love, love, love this professor...can't wait to start his chm 2045 in the fall! If you can't pass his class, you probably need to change your major...

Took his 8 week hybrid. Ended up with a high A and didn't have to take the final. It's an easy class if you study the material. A lot of people failed because they didn't put the time in. You have to be motivated to learn on your own if you take the hybrid.

I hate chemistry but I manage to pass my eight week hybrid class with a B. The material can be overwhelming but professor Joe made it very clear what was on the test. It's up to you to take time to review the material. No hand holding-this was a true college setting.Overall good teacher.

Professor Joe is amazing! I have tried many other Chemistry class & never caught on, I finally understand, his style of teaching is superb. He teaches students on the proper level, does not make you feel incompetent. 100% would recommend Joe, he is an extreme asset to FSCJ.

Mr King is a great teacher. He is very open and honest with students which is rare for a teacher to be. Explains material very clearly and keeps class interesting with funny jokes and random tidbits. Great teacher to have. wish I could have taken more classes with him.

Professor King is amazing. Attend class take notes study atleast 3hrs a week and you will get an A. There are 3 test , 1 final. He teaches you exactly what will be on the test and is super clear about it. Attendance is important, besides your test, thats the other thing he grades you on. +/- some labs. Gave some extra credit. BEST SCIENCE TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!! Easy, friendly, and made chemistry clear and understandable. The only criticism I have is I wish we went over sig figs, other than that..BRILLIANT! Can't wait to take him for Chemistry II!

Professor King took a subject I had no interest in and was afraid of failing and made it very real world for me. Class was very interactive and informative while being on par with the skill levels for this particular class. Would take again.

Dr.King has a dry sense of humor but that's what makes him very funny^^ Being honest he doesn't cover much, his tests are easy so it's going to be an easy "A" for those who aren't CHM major, but if you are it's your choice. Dr. King was a breeze in the summer. He dropped one test grade. All lectures are online. You basically self teach and he answers questions in class. He will go over things he thinks you may stumble on. We never stayed in this class the whole time. Are labs were group settings.

Great Professor! Very Easy! But don't expect to learn to much.

Great teacher. You will need the book. Lots of reading but he has PP and video to help you understand what is needed. If you email him, he will respond within 48 - 72 hours. He is patient and will answer all questions if you ask. I took th condensed summer class, which really was a lot of reading and comprehension in a short period of time.

Prof. King is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He really cares about his students learning the material, and is willing to answer any questions you have. He really knows what he's talking about, and you can really tell he wants everyone else to understand, too.

He doesnt update Blackboard grades but the grading criteria is fair. You can make 60's on all 4 exams and still pass the class because attendance and labs count for so much so make sure you're always present!! The final was easy, just study. Kind of had to self teach a few things but he was nice and always willing to answer questions.

One of the best professors I have ever had (I have 200+ credit hours) He knows how to teach! I liken him to the Bob Ross of chemistry, easy going, masterful, wants to see you learn, great at taking questions. I would take any class he was teaching, really! Take Dr. King! If you study the test practice questions you will get a good grade.

Prepare to teach yourself in his 7 week class. But as someone who is horrible at chemistry, I found out it's actually easier to teach yourself. Exams are all written out, no homework to do, show up to lab (no lab reports), etc. Practically show up every class, do good on tests and you can easily get an A or B. Impossible to reach by email though.

This Intro to Chem class was very easy. He has a textbook listed, but don't get it. He provides all the material you need, and you only use the text book to do practice problems which he provides. It's really basic and mostly memorization and basic algebra. You have about three tests and the last one is cumulative. The labs are also enjoyable.

Everything was great until the final. He tells you to study previous tests, but doesn't give you (or say he won't provide) the reference sheet he gave you for the previous tests. If you take the class, memorize every formula and every constant he gave you on the previous tests because he won't give them to you again. I had an A+, now I don't know.

The final grades are up and he definitely dropped the lowest test grade for everyone I emailed him.

Professor King and his on-campus class is amazing, here's why, great lectures, clear grading criteria, gives enough time to study for exams, provides a study guide/sheet prior to exams (this is important for many students since Chemistry is so diverse, you really want to know what to study for), cares for his students. Definitely recommended!!!!

Dr King is a brilliant professor , he helped my understanding of chemistry concepts way better than anyone else did , hes very nice and can get points across easy without making it too hard to grasp. Hes very helpful and will surely help you out if you ask , I totally recommend you take Dr King.

This professor was incredible!I took this same class with another teacher and worked extremely hard & didnt pass, so I re took it with professor king and ended with an A. You do the reading on your own& then come to class and he does example problems and make sure everyone understands, he even offers to stay to help the kids struggling! Deff take

This is the first time in my life that Ive ever understood chemistry. He made everything so easy to understand and he made sure everyone in the class understood what was going on. He doesnt like to waste time so if youre done with the lesson and/or lab, class will be over. Grades are made up of tests (no MC ever) and participation.

I owe this man everything! he is the reason I passed chemistry, I wish I found him 5 attempts ago. I took his class online because of Covid-19 and he had prerecorded lectures on youtube to help you reference too. he is so passionate about teaching and his lectures are fun, even when they were online. he will be the best professor you have!

It was a drastic change for me and the professor being that it was online because of the COVID 19 be he tried his best to make things easy and understandable and always was available for help.

Professor King is a best professor. He is very lenient and he is very detailed when you ask questions. Due to COVID I wasn't able to meet him in person but I would've loved meeting him. We were in the Zoom meeting for like 10 mins if no one had questions but if you did he took the time to explain things for you.

I had to take Chemistry a couple of times, but Professor King is the G.O.A.T! he knows his stuff and he doesn't mind helping you at all! He even does extra help sessions. King breaks down Chemistry so well that a child can understand! Take him if you're not a science person!

His class is only graded on 3 lecture exams, 2 lab exams, and a final exam. The final and lecture exams are proctored through our class zoom meetings ( u just need your camera on) and the lab exams are taken throughput the week not proctored. His meetings are not mandatory and youre tested on textbook chapters.

I love Dr. King. He is a southern hillbilly from Tennessee and looks like a deer hunter. He works every problem that we asked. Gives one take-home exam. Gives in class exams the rest of the time. Really knowledgeable about chemistry. You cant stump him. Very laid back and calm. Teaches you how to problem solve. I would take again.

Prof. King was great! The class I took was a hybrid, so we met online one day and in class the next. He did inform us on the very first day that he does not give lectures and that we were to read the chapters and come to class with any questions. If you take him, definitely read the chapters and be prepared for class! You are only graded on tests.

He's super nice and understanding, and will work with you if you need it. His class doesn't offer a lot of work for points, but he does give 5-10 extra credit points on all tests. You also must be prepared to read the chapters (online book) before class, because he uses that time to go over stuff- making some classes 5 min long. Would take again!

Professor King is incredibly smart and informative. If I were to take this class again, I would choose him every time. That being said, be prepared to read every chapter and study the material he gives you. This is NOT an easy class. Glad I chose him.

I took this as a 7-week class in person. His lectures are very short but he posts extra videos online. I am not a math person and really struggled at first, but this professor makes it hard to fail. He is very helpful and gives a lot of credit if you show your work on tests. He only grades tests though! Definitely would take Professor King again!

Dr. King is awesome! He's also compassionate with extra credit. His tests are a little brutal (a lot of 10 points per question so it's easy for your grade to drop quickly) and 70% of the grade comes from these exams, so make sure you know your stuff, be self motivated. He will answer questions and work through many problems, but you have to ask!

I take a hybrid class. He gives extra credit for every single test. Read chapters and do examples in the books before you go to class. He jumps into doing exercises during class, not the lectures. The tests are easy if you do examples and 7-8 exercises in each chapter. Buying a physical book helps a lot. Overall, self-taught is the best choice.

Compassionate teacher. Every test as an easy extra credit answer. You HAVE to read the book before coming to class, it's a hybrid class. He doesn't teacher but just go over practice questions. Class is short even though its 3 hours, he lets us leave early.

If you pay attention and make sure you ask questions on what you're confused on, this class is pretty easy. I will say that how well you do on the exams does determine your grade. However, Dr. King makes it very clear what will be on the exams. He's a funny professor and very understanding, so I recommend you take him :)

You gotta be ready for the exams because most of the class is memorization but he's an AMAZING teacher and very kind and understanding. I got a 56, 75, 101, and a 71 on the 4 exams and the last one was cumulative and I still made a B. He is always open to questions and has a whole class for review before every exam where the floor open to students.

Took 7 wk Intro to Chem and it was a lot of info to remember but I wouldn't have gotten an A if it wasn't for Dr. King being a great professor. Attendance counts for 10% of your grade, I recommend going because he gives good tips on how to remember things. Tests weren't long or that difficult. Feel free to ask questions, he has patience to explain!

Professor King makes chemistry surprisingly manageable. His classes are short but informative, and he provides plenty of extra support. Using unstuck ai alongside the textbook was super helpful for me.

I took the hybrid version of his Intro to Chem. and it was pretty difficult having to learn the material online, but when I would come to class it would make it very simple to understand. Just make sure to take notes of his example problems cause many times he reuses the same ones on the exams.

A kind and caring professor who makes it very easy to pas their class.

You have to really not want it to fail his class

Regarding practice tests, he gave us one with a key for the first exam. He has a review session the class before each test where he will answer any questions and work out practice problems with you. Come prepared to those, he may even give you a hint on what will/will not be on the test. Partial credit is available for many of the test problems.
