Makes you read alot. Isnt easy on students who are just being presented to philosphy & for some reason doesnt seem happy to be teaching. Overall i found it really difficult to catch up and understand what was going on in the class : The good thing is that he does provide chances for extra credit
Learned a lot very easy
I took his Introduction to Philosophy class in the Winter Semester, it was super easy if you stay on task with the readings. MidtermFinals are essay format but they're take home so it should be easy if you've done your readings. Overall.. Awesome Professor, very lenient
Komrosky is easily one of the best professors that I have ever had! His lectures will make you rethink the way you look at the world and really make you think about morality and how to apply it to everyday life. It is not a tough class, do your reading and your assignments and you'll get an A!
One of the Best Professors of Philosophy at Mt. Sac, words cannot describe how brilliant he is. He is detailed oriented and has clear lecturers. Every word is efficiently used and examples are from inside and outside of the text book.
Overall a great teacher. Loves philosophy and has very funny stories about his life that he often shares.
One of the best professors at Mt. SAC. He's straight-forward and loves his job. He guides his students into finding, and arguging for, their beliefs. The readings may be confusing; however, he will summarize their content so students are able to comprehend. Lectures always lead to discussions of current events. Interest in philosophy will soar.
Komrosky is an amazing professor, he is passionate about philosophy and is always available to help out and listen to students. His lectures are interesting and thought provoking, the tests are just like the study guide, he offers extra credit, and I would recommend this class to a friend and would take it again.
Love Komrosky everyone always complains that philosophy is hard, he made it easy and interesting. Tells about his life, gives chances for extra credit, study guides so you're completely prepared for the two exams he gives. Definitely would recommend him to everyone.
Professor Komrosky makes Philosophy fun and interesting. He will tell fun stories and will help you understand the subject. His passion for philosophy is apparent and his knowledge in other subjects are solid. He will give extra credits, extend due dates, explain if your'e lost, give great feed backs, and let you resubmit work.
Professor Komrosky is a good teacher. He goes into detail explains things well. There is quite a bit of homework but that's pretty normal and his tests match the homework, meaning if you did the homework you will understand the test.
Really helps student to pass. Fun lectures
He actually loves his students he doesnt want anyone to fail he tries his best to make everyone understand the concept of Philosophy.
Overall, Komrosky is an excellent professor. He pretty much has all of the qualities that make a good educator. At times, the work can be tough and lengthy, but with the amount of help he gives, it's definitely fair.
Great professor! I was already exposed to some of the work in a previous math class so I picked it up quickly. He's willing to help students who struggle. Tests weren't hard or tricky as long as you've done the homework and understand the chapters.
One of the best professors in this college. You really can't fail the class . Just come to class and do the HW. Tests are not hard as the HW prepares you for them. Also, he uses Canvas which gives you access to your grade at any time
Epic teacher overall! Extremely interesting to talk and thorough when needs to be. Don't be afraid to ask questions because he's more than willing to answer. Loved this class and would gladly take this professor again
He gives homework almost every class, and the homework portion counts for 60% of your grade. If you do the homework, you will pass. Was able to get a C on the final and passed the class with an A. He gives great extra credit, and in the end is just a great professor. Take him if you can, you won't regret it!
Professor komrosky is awesome. Just show up to class, and do your homework. Homework is a big part of your grade. Make sure you do it. He will work with you. Just do whatever he tells you what to do to get that grade, and don't forget homework due at each class. If you miss class, email homework to him. Take home exams. Can't lose. Take him.
Very approachable professor, take him and you wont regret coz he help you so much. I just didnt do well because of my other class . He gives extra credit and he wants everyone to enjoy the class. Thank you Prof Joseph.. Take him .. well respected.
One of the most humble professors on campus. If you do not understand something then he tries to explain it a different way and does not belittle you. He chooses to teach because he loves to teach, even though he can make more money elsewhere, what more is there to say?
He is great when you ask for help! But you need to ask, if you fail its on you, he gives you so much advantages.
He is awesome! Please take him and if you do all the homework, u will pass for sure!
Gives a lot of extra credit
This class was easy as long as you read and do the homework. Attendance is rewarded.
He's cool professor, would take him again
Bless this man and his family, if you have a genuine passion for logic and philosophy then hes a perfect fit, he cares about his students and is very CLEARLY passionate about his work and his relation with people. He will make you work for your grade but it makes it THAT much rewarding!
He is honestly one of the greatest professor I've ever had. Yeah, you have homework everyday but it's pretty easy if you read the book. You do need the book and especially for the final. I recommend taking him!
Honestly, this dude is legit. The homework could be difficult at times but he is willing to work with you because he wants you to succeed. I think he's funny also so the removed some of the stress. I did okay in his class but I would definitely take AGAIN.
Yo this guy is a real G. Forreal doe, he explains things real well and will help you out if you're having problems in his class. His sense of humor is great too lmao
Very cool professor, while still being on topic about lectures. Recommended for everyone!
Prof. Komrosky is a professor that stands out from the rest. He truly wants every student to pass. If you don't understand something, he will explain that in a number of different ways in an attempt to help you learn. I greatly appreciate him as a professor. Take his class!!
homework is 60% of the grade, but it's not terrible. You do have to read on your own to do the homework, but if you don't understand anything he will take the time to explain everything as simply as he possibly can. The professor wants everyone to pass and with a good grade, and he's really funny. Easy extra credit opportunities to raise grade 7%
Entertaining and clear professor. Class was easy at first but at the end it was very difficult.
Do all your homework and you will pass and also he give extra credit which we reall helps you in the final
Awesome professor
Will take his time to help you if you are having hard time in class
This was a very fun class for me. Although I don't think that it was extremely difficult, it was still challenging because you would have to read, learn, and do the homework on your own sometimes. He is very approachable and funny. I learned a lot from this class!! 10/10 recommend
Do your work and come everyday to class then there is no excuse for you not to get an A
good teach, goes the extra mile
Very nice and helpful!
Professor Komrosky is one of my favorites at Mt. SAC. He lectures very clearly and he cares about the students. He's also funny. I definitely reccomend him.
Honestly one of the best professors at Mt Sac who teaches logic. Lenient with grading and will even give you points on mistakes if you can reasonably explain why you got the mistake.
This professor is hilarious. You learn a lot in his class. The subject is not too hard but it's a little complicated. If you ask for help, he's always ready to help you. Homework is very important and there's a lot of it. There's also group work that helps you to reinforce the homework. Lots of extra credit too. Take him!
This class can really help the writing paper, and professor is great.
Definitely need the textbook. Keep up with the homework and you're guaranteed a good grade. Try, that's all he asks for. Do the extra credit. Funny guy, he keeps logic interesting and tries to relate it so it isn't so heavy. Take him if you want a teacher who cares but don't expect not to work for it.
Best Phil 3 Professor at Mt. SAC!! Take him! ;)
Class is easy if you show up and do all the homework. Three take home test and one in-class final. Lots of opportunity for extra credit.
Mericiful. He's very easy and understanding. His class can be a drag but the class is short. Do all the homework and you will get an A with or without fully understanding the material.
He speaks very monotone, make sure you're listening in class, and do the home work! You won't understand anything if you don't!
Professor Komrosky is a individual who would like to see all of his students succeed. Over the course of the semester had offered outside sources to those who were interested in furthering their understanding of philosophy. I definitely recommend this professor.
Prof. Joseph is incredible. I didn't get an A, but that was my own fault. Please do the readings, even if you don't understand them. take notes on things you find interesting. the notes are online but let's face it, you won't go through them. DON'T BE LATE TO CLASS! Follow his instructions and try to get into class discussions, it helps.
Professor Joseph is an amazing instructor! He teaches everything very well and grades very considerately.
Professor Komrosky is well versed in many aspects of philosophy. He is open to discussion and is easily accessible both as a professor and an individual. In regards to teaching logic he breaks down the concept and makes the material easy to consume allowing for the more difficult ideas to be added upon throughout the semester.
Going in to this ethics class I had low expectations of enjoying it, as it was my second time taking the course. Professor Komrosky has done amazing job teaching his passion. This class will test your own moral thinking and can change your perspective on many issues. I truly enjoyed his class. I do recommend this professor for any ethics course.
One of the best professors in Mt Sac!! I started to like philosophy after taking his class. Class material was very easy for me. I got almost 100% even without adding my extra credit! Superrr easy A!! Definitely recommend him!!!
Honestly, he just makes the classroom environment so friendly and inviting to everyone. He always has something insightful to say, I was constantly intrigued with the conversations carried out in the class. I would highly recommend taking him!
Fun class, entertaining lectures, no giant papers, and he explains everything very in depth.
Attendance is very important with professor Komrosky. His class is very chill and is filled with eye opening lectures. His assignments are pretty clear and he's very good with helping any struggling students. This class is a good class to take if you're into philosophy.
Awesome professor! Really makes you think about things. Probably one of the most chill professors Ive ever had. If you need to take PHIL, he is a must take!!
Very passionate teacher, cares about the course material and lectures are always always a treat. Readings are very important and difficult but are unpacked during class clearly. Easy A if the effort is put in.
10/10 would recommend any day of the week. Attendance is mandatory so dont take him if you plan to skip half of the classes. Very good lectures and really cares about his students. Quizzes every week, but they are easy if you do the readings.
Wonderful experience with professor Komrosky! Dont be late to class and just follow his instructions, then you will get an A.
Honestly a pretty easy class because from the start he is so straight forward on what he wants. He is very passionate on his lectures. We watch a couple videos, do 4 critical papers (which already have an easy layout) and do weekly quizzes. He has a strict attendance policy but its reasonable. He teaches philosophy in a way we can relate to.
This professor is awesome. If you are interested with the topics he teaches, he will not hesitate to spend some extra time to answer your questions. He is the reason Ive changed my major because of his insightful advices.
Komrosky was one of the best professors I had. Ive never attended a class in its entirety other than this one and it was an 8am. He offers extra credit and makes his lectures interesting and interactive. He does a bit of reading and papers but its nothing overwhelming and he walks you through it all. Take his class over any other if you can!
Professor Komrosky is a cool dude. He makes the lectures enjoyable and always seems passionate about what he is talking about. He is also very good at sending emails to alert the class of what is going on every week. His attendance policy may be a little strict but it's not his job to bring you to class every week. Best lecturer at Mt. Sac.
Really enjoyed coming to class to learn about philosophy. He wants you to succeed and makes the class lectures fun and interactive. 10/10 would take again :)
Great professor, keeps lectures interesting and fun. 10/10 would recommend taking again.
Komrosky indulges you in a variety of aspects of what philosophy is and what it is involved with. He does a phenomenal job explaining the readings so that we may all understand what it is that other philosophers are trying to convey. Not only that but he is always willing to help if you have any questions or concerns. Overall, an amazing professor.
Best professor Ive had so far. Definitely makes philosophy easy and relatable. Hes always cracking jokes. He loves talkative people. He gives great & easy extra credit.
Honestly, I thought this class would be more of a challenge but the teacher made understanding philosophy something of a leisure activity. Hands down the easiest class Ive ever had. Would probably take again just for fun.
If you want to be informed on a subject and still have the class be entertaining and easy to follow, take professor Komrosky
Show up to class, read, complete the quizzes, and you will be fine. He offers many extra credit opportunities as well, and is always more than willing to help students if they are struggling. One of the most funny, caring, and understanding professors I have ever met.
Real. Really genuine Prof. If your here to get the "Mt. Slack" experience, don't go to this class. Take him if you have an interest in Philosophy. Not sure if you'll stay awake? Don't even trip, he'll bake in the passion
Really easy to do so long as you listen. You really have to work hard to fail.
Awesome teacher. If your trying to take an intro to philosophy class, take him. He makes you so interested in the material presented throughout his lectures and he does something that a lot of teachers lack: makes you think. He encourages class participation and has a bright personality. 100% recommendation to anyone.
great professor. very specific on what is needed in this course.
Professor Komrosky is very passionate about his lectures. His critical interaction papers are tedious but get easy over time. He is willing to help you if you ask!
Easy to pass the class. Homework quizzes every week but theyre easy. Tests are the same as quizzes. Gives a clear study guide. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Very passionate about philosophy.
Komrosky is a really laid back professor. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities to get an A. Philosophy can be confusing sometimes but he will walk you thorough it. Take him
Slept in class 70% of the time and still had a 89% before all the extra credit. Loved his class funny guy, funny stories, but sometimes monotone. Plus gives us the final & midterm before we take it.
Very good professor, great at keeping you interested in the lecture, good sense of humor, very laid back. Very easy class as long as you keep up on reading and quizzes
You know that good feeling after you get after you sneeze? That's how it feels taking this class.
Hes a great teacher very nice funny and had fun in class
Professor Komrosky is one of the funniest most real professors out there. He says things as it is and makes you think outside the box. Hes very caring and he trustes his students to have integrity and be honest with him. All quizzes are take home and he makes the class fair and easy to pass if you put your part of the work.
Philosophy is a hard subject but Professor Komrosky makes it easier to understand and very entertaining. His lectures are interesting.
Great guy and extremely helpful to all students. He has the right idea when it comes to student comprehension. All he asks is that you pay complete attention to his lectures, not strict on notes or anything just wants you to pay attention. As long as you pay attention and are engaged you will do well in this course.
Professor Joseph is really chill, very funny and makes the class really entertaining to be in.
Quizzes every week, but if you do the reading you will pass. Hes white and German. Also, he does teach good and is occasionally funny. Good professor.
Great professor for intro to philosophy. Easy A if you look through the study guide he gives you. The quizzes are not hard. Only time consuming things are the critical interaction papers. Would recommend to everyone
Took this class expecting it to be a boring, almost like a movie scene boring. I was expecting everyone including myself to fall asleep, but I came across the exact opposite! The professor does an excellent job at teaching material that requires so much patience. He is helpful, understanding, and extremely willing to help! TAKE THE CLASS!!!
Amazing Professor that gives many chances for extra credit, hilarious and teaches extremely well! He makes the class fun and enjoyable.
He is an amazing teacher. If you listen in class and pay attention, you will get a good grade. He knows how to make the class a happy and fun environment to be in. He knows how to connect with students and knows how to make learning about Philosophy fun! I recommend you take this class!
He provides choices of extra Credit that bump up your grade. And actually, if you could be there on time the whole semester, you've got one extra credit, you can't do another one tho.
Has a great sense of humor and makes lectures enjoyable even when the content can be difficult to understand at first. There are also a lot of extra credit opportunities that are offered as well!
He is white and German. Also, dont skip class cause it will result in lowering your grade. Overall, the class was easy. Lot of reading, but relatively easy since its just philosophy. There are quizzes every week that are submitted in class involving the reading required.
Professor Komrosky is an amazing Professor. As you go throughout the semester, you can tell hes very passionate about philosophy. He grades every paper fairly and his tests are pretty much on the study guide that he provides. Hes very funny and a well respected professor. I highly recommend taking his class in philosophy!
Professor Komrosky is a true delight, i will skip all other classes in the day and wake up just to come to his class, he fosters an atmosphere of friendship and understandingHe will answer even the most obsurd question in a hilarious and meaningful way, while providing a real discussion based on your logical extreme. 10/10
He is funny, and he is an easy professor if you read and finish all the work. Most of these works are readings, take home quizzes, take home critical interaction paper, and take home reading reports. You will have no problem getting a good grade on these paper if you read. He also gives take home answers for mid and final exam.
(Warning) I suck at writing. I love this teacher. He prefers students not to take notes but his lectures are so interesting and interactive you dont really need them. I promise if you, do homework, use his studie guide and pay attention when he goes over it you could get through this class with at least a B.
He's great dud
I took Professor Komrosky for Intro to philosophy. Hes a great professor and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities. The lectures are pretty interesting and there is a lot of discussions and interactions. The class is super easy just show up, listen, and participate
Joseph is a modern day hipster philosopher, he is wise and hilarious. Youll pass his class as long as you try, and if you try youll not only pass but leave with new wisdom.
One of my favorite professors.
One of the best professors I've ever had in a purely academic sense, but also my favorite personally because of his upfront and down-to-earth personality. He's a former special forces soldier turned radiologist who teaches philosophy for fun and is amazing at it. He excels at simplifying very esoteric and complex material. Wish I could take again.
I didn't take an online Intro to Phil in favor of a brick-and-mortar class, and Prof. Komrosky delivers. Coursework is clearly explained and you'll only get less than an A if you skip class or do an abysmal job on the written assignments. I wish my fellow students would discuss and debate concepts more, but Prof. K brings the best from the class.
He gives a lot of homework, but it's not that difficult if you read the textbook, he's super great!!!
There is HW due every class but it isn't hard. It takes about an hr to complete. HW is a major part of your grade. His tests are open book/note which makes it easy. Which is why HW matters more for your grade. Half the time is spent going over the previous hw, then quick group work. The last 15 min are a quick lecture. Easy but sometimes boring.
He made intro to logic so easy to learn and understand. his class is very straight forward and he is very engaging with his lectures. MUST do the homework, grade is weighted heavily on homework. attendance also matters. he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities!
He is honestly one of the best Philosophy professors I have taken. He is incredibly engaging and makes it really hard for you to fail. I would recommend showing up to every lecture on time as it counts as extra credit, but also make sure to do the homework and reading. He is not heavy on the lecture and applies concepts to real-life instances.
The best teacher ever!! Super caring and cares about his students. If you skip his class you will not pass!! Homework every class but super easy and boosts up ur grade if your tests are pretty low. He also offers extra credit! He wants you to succeed.
This Professor knows his Logic. He cares about his students and he is there for you. Just do what he tells you and you will be fine. He has extra credit and if you need to see him in his office, you can confer with him. I liked him very much. Attendance is mandatory. Great class.
Great Professor. He cares about his students.
Super fun teacher and he kept the lectures really interesting. Lots of extra credit opportunities. Homework everyday but very short and easy. Open note tests.
Weekly quizzes and discussions were due on Thursdays every week. Had to read 20-30 pages on average for a chapter in the textbook You will pass as long as you pace yourself in the class and complete everything on time. I would only recommend if you love to read a lot. Got an low B only because I missed a weekly discussion and quiz.
Im not someone whos very interested in philosophy but some of the assignments were fun to complete, I would recommend this class since it wasnt very difficult.
Be prepared to read... a lot. Philosophy is not easy which is why I recommend watching the supplemental videos that are provided. You have 3 opportunities to take the quizzes and you get to see which answers you got wrong, so use that to your advantage. The final was super easy, it was exactly what was on the study guide. Good luck!
This class was pretty hard, definitely have to read the textbook carefully and study!
Save yourself the hassle and take Professor Komrosky's Philosophy course! There were five or so quizzes and one discussion post each week. The quizzes are multiple choice and they were identical to the final exam. Professor Komrosky links useful videos and the readings were super interesting! Overall, he's a super interesting and chill guy.
Pro K is great! Lots of reading but what do you expect from Philosophy? Lectures videos are funny. Weekly chapter reading and quiz. Quizzes make you think. Discussion topic every 2ish weeks. 1 midterm paper, 1 final paper. No wrong answers on papers as long as you support your argument. Follow grading rubric and you will get full credit
Took him for PHIL3 last year and am finishing PHIL5 right now. I would confidently say he is one of the best professors at Mt.Sac. He doesn't just TEACH you philosophy, he teaches you how to think for yourself. As a person I am grateful for the knowledge he has shared and as a student I am grateful to have had the opportunity to sit in his class.
You have to TRY to fail this class. Getting an A is literally a walk in the park because his class has no homework and only consists of few very easy quizzes each week along with a discussion post. Lots of reading, which is expected, but that is the hardest thing you'll have to do.
Took him back in Spring 2023. This was a very enjoyable class and I loved how he taught and organized the course. Really chill and funny guy. The only huge downside is that he has certain views on trans people. Found out he was transphobic during the end of the semester. :( So be wary if you ever think about taking his class.
Dr. K is awesome. Nice, funny professor who gets the whole class involved. Couldn't recommend enough.
This class was very interesting, without being difficult. The professor is down to Earth and relatable in his lectures, and the reading/material is very engaging. I would recommend for any student, regardless of their knowledge/current interest in philosophy!
Dr. Komrosky is a great professor that made my college life start off right. He gave me perspective on how to be a good student and a good person in general. He makes philosophy a fun subject and made me see myself in each philosopher. His teaching style is also very inviting and engaging for everyone. I cannot recommend his class enough!
This professor has a very forgiving grading scheme, and has many ways to get extra credit. The only bad thing you could say about him is that he uses his off days and cancells some classes. Other than that 10/10!
Honest
Highly Recommend showing up to the lectures they can get really interesting. Hes a really understanding professor as well easy to talk to.
Taking this class was something I chose out of randomness but I have no regrets throughout the class. I believe Professor Komrosky is a very great professor who is great to talk to and is very understanding. He made me smile while also understanding philosophical subjects and is very helpful when we need help with certain things. 10/10 professor!
Great professor, gives amazing lectures that are both interesting and thought provoking. He also offers many opportunities to earn extra credit, does have a bit of a strict attendance policy however
He is a very good teacher, he actually teaches instead of just giving you something to read about, his test and homework assignment are very easy. He does does extra credit and does take role and that is part of your grade.
Prof Komrosky's best quality is that he gets you to think critically about your stance on important philosophical subjects like free will, philosophy of religion, metaphysics, and consciousness. As long as you participate you will get an A in this class.
Easy to pass as long as you do the work. There is a discussion post every two weeks or and a quiz about the reading you must do before class. Lectures are interesting and he provides study guides for the exam.
Professor Komrosky has a deep love for philosophy and it shows throughout his lectures. He will sometimes jump into rabbit holes but they are all very much welcomed it is fun to see where they go and how they relate to the subject on hand.
Professor Komrosky is one of the most dedicated and caring professors on campus. He does lecture a lot, but unlike most professors, he isn't boring. He allows the class to join his lectures for discussions and is very good at breaking down the content. My only complaint for the class is there is a lot of reading, and it's not always interesting.
pretty chill teacher
He explains and teaches about philosophy very interestingly and always dives deeper into the subject when asked, despite the scope of the course, each philosopher covered were given a distinct identity and each of their ideas were given character through his lectures. He really prioritizes your education and helps with things even outside of class.
Professor was Amazing not only did we learn about textbook stuff he taught us important life lessons as well.
Professor Komrosky's class is amazing. I took his online class during the summer, and just be prepared to read. There are a lot of long passages to read from (but I did take a 6-week course, which made it feel like a lot). The quizzes and discussion posts are relatively easy, as long as you read the material!
Amazing professor. I recommend anyone to take him if you want a good and actually interesting intro to philosophy class. There's a reason why he has a lot of great reviews.
Genuinely the best professor i've ever taken, if ur reading and this and are debating whether to take his class then for sure take it, you won't regret it and will be glad you had him as a professor compared to any other professor in philosophy.
His Classwork is easy and all the homework is online and all the tests and quizzes are online after the class is done. So passing the class should be easy
Prof Komrosky brings philosophy to life with engaging lectures and thought-provoking discussions. While the readings can be dense, using Unstuck study alongside the textbook makes studying a breeze. Highly recommended for an interesting intro to philosophy.
This course was only 8 weeks long (online course), so there was homework due every day. Good class.
Prof. Komrosky is a fabulous presenter of philosophical ideas and makes anything hes teaching eminently comprehensible. He is *always* very passionate and clear when giving lectures, even on the days where hes clearly a little tired. He makes a great effort as a professor, and that actually helped me respect the coursework more.
Professor Komrosky was very kind and considerate, and although there was lots of reading each week for homework, his grading was more than fair. The quizzes were easy, and the content of the readings and his lectures were very interesting; I definitely learned a lot from this course. I highly recommend taking him for PHIL5 - it's worth every cent.
Online course is all a program, lot of assignments, lot of reading
Pretty laid back. Read the notes and do the assignments and you'll get an A
He is a good philosopher because I have his class. He given me and others to know many philosophical possibilities about many things, including ethics and utilitarianism.
Great professor, class is fun and useful, I learned some real philosophy here, don't take his inperson class if you hate go to school, his attendence policy is very hard.
Professor Komrosky is great and I highly recommend his class. I took a half semester class in Fall of 2025. The extra credit assignment is pretty easy if you enjoy watching debates and is worth a lot of your grade. His lectures are great and he makes it very easy to learn logic. For some reason, the final chapter was the easiest.
Such an easy class. Professor really cares about the subject and the success of his students. Probably easier to get an A than any other grade tbh.
Lowkey mad chill. His lectures were good and helped you understand what was going on. if you had a question he would make sure that you weren't confused anymore. Offers extra credit. Decent amount of reading though.
Very engaging, fascinating lectures. Hilarious Prof who you can tell truly cares about what he teaches and his students as well. Lots and lots of reading and discussion posts but they're manageable and easy. Gives study guides for his exams, very easy class overall.
