I didn't know what to expect with Critical Thinking, but Dr. Kuzma made it fun and enjoyable and I learned a lot of things that will probably help me down the line. He's a really interesting guy and a great teacher!

Awesome class. He makes logic interesting and exciting. I would recommend this class to anybody who wants to learn how to use critical reasoning skills.

One of the few professors I've had at UCCS who really seems to want his students to succeed. He gave me a one week extension on a paper when I had a personal issue going on. Very easy to talk to and totally chill when it comes to answering questions about assignments. Wish he taught ECON, because I would take more classes from him.

Take a class with Dr. Kuzma! You will not regret it. I am on my third class with him, because I love learning, and he makes it so easy to. His passion and energy is contagious, and he backs it up with his immense knowledge of Philosophy and the way he articulates his lessons. I am minoring in Philosophy now because of him. Makes you wish he was Socrates and you were sitting on a Greek countryside drinking wine and discussing philosophy. Second he is enthusiastic and interesting. Lastly, he is an amazing dresser, super dreamy, and I bet he smells good. Only attractive teacher I have had my whole life. He is Colorado Springs's closest Indiana Jones or cute professor.

I've seriously never found a professor that I've liked so much before! He Is really enthusiastic about the material and makes it fun to learn at the same time. I was not interested in philosophy at all until I had his class. I am most definitely going to take another class that he teaches!!!!

Dr. K. was incredible! He really cares about what he's teaching and is very enthusiastic. He's a lenient grader. He also is very willing to extend deadlines and help out if you don't understand the material. Overall, he was a great professor and I'd love to take another class from him someday!

Dr. Kuzma is AMAZING!!! His lectures are never dull- and he truly knows his stuff (no boring ppt. lectures). He is big on groups- one group assignment and a role playing debate. I wouldn't call the class easy- but the energy makes it too entertaining to notice. Plus he is HOT- not your typical HOT- unusual hot---the hottest HOT!!!!

Prof Kuzma is an amazing lecturer, he is informational, simple to understand, and very balanced on sensitive subjects. I am so-so interested in the topic, but his lectures really get you into it. He is great so far! Take him, the last Phil prof I had sucked and almost left me never wanting to take a Phil class again, but Kuzma saved Phil class

Dr. K is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's young and makes current references to the text, he's really passionate about what he teaches and that makes it more interesting for the student. Super interested in what his students have to say. The text is a bit dry, but you won't regret taking this class.

Dr. K can make some of the most boring subjects interesting. He is very prompt at responding to emails and is great at giving constructive criticism. He is a very easy grader in most cases guaranteeing you a pretty high grade at the end of the semester.

He is a very good professor because he responds to emails quickly and kindly, gives great feedback when he does take off points during grading, and makes subjects interesting. He requires a lot writing and some reading weekly, but that is because it is an online course. I only used the textbook for 1 assignment and found the book online for free.

Lectures are beyond interesting despite how boring the subject is. Homework consists of optional assigned readings that you dont have to do unless you want an A. Its legit impossible to not get a B in this class. Youll get an A if you read for the first month, than you wont have to. He treats you like an adult. it counts for humanities credit.

Dr. K is the coolest prof. I have ever had in college. So entertaing and is very encouraging. Like his teaching stlye, and is always freindly and in a good mood. Teaching is the best, he really helps you get it. Very easy class thoe.

Dr. K was the professor of my first class in college- and not what I expected at all. He wore really snazzy suits with vans and suspenders, was tatted up and clearly passionate about what he taught. I loved his class because I felt like I learned a lot.

Possibly the best educator I've ever had. Lectures in a story format so it's easy to remember everything. Tests are open note so easy A for excellent note takers. Occasionally assigned in-class responses to the assigned readings, in-class group assignments, full-class debates, and likes to go outside if the weather is nice.

Dr. K was an amazing professor. I will take him again and again. He has great lectures and makes critical thinking a fun class. He is helpful if you have questions and is very non-judgmental. Very clear on expectations and will reward you for working hard.

He's amazing! His lectures are awesome, you learn a lot, and he respects all students. His class is pretty easy to pass even though the content is pretty difficult. He keeps his lectures entertaining and he is very real with his students. I will totally take Dr. K again. He has been one of my favorite classes this semester.

Took Cyborgs and Monsters online and really enjoyed it. Lectures are by Dr. Kuzma and Dr. Olkowski and they present some really great material that requires critical thinking and analysis to process. For an online class this was a great experience, my only regret is not taking the actual, physical class.

Kuzma is a great speaker and presenter. The only issue I have with him is that he doesn't really cover material in class that is pertinent to anything he assigns for credit. If you want a fun and easy class, Kuzma is for you. He is insanely smart, but the way he runs classes makes it so that you have to be self diligent to retain the info.

10/10 recommend He is Awesome. He will remember your name and makes you feel like you are actually going to college for a reason. Take good notes and you will do great!

Dr. K is my favorite professor so far. He is incredibly passionate about the material and extremely respectful of everybodies views. I loved going to class, which made the class easy to do well in.

One of the best, if not the best, professor here at UCCS. Every single week I look forward to going to this one class because his lectures are fun and interesting, and he cares about everyones views, no matter what they are. If its nice outside, he brings you out sometimes which is a real blessing compared to chairs. Take this professor!

Dr. Kuzma is the "realest" prof at UCCS. He cares more about his students than any other professor I have had & looks like he likes his job. Also, his class isn't one of those "we are going til the second the scheduled class is over". He allows his students to ask questions and be curious about the world. Also, he is not at all bad to look at.

Really in touch with his students, encourages thoughtful discussion and different perspectives, and encourages you to think about some really tough morality concepts. The realest professor I've had so far

Dr. Kuzma is super awesome. I learned a lot during his class, and he is a pretty easy grader. The only assignments you will really have are 3 exams, a paper, 3 debates and debate reflections, and a couple small assignments he give during class. He is a pretty funny teacher and wants his student to learn.

I've taken a couple of upper-div classes with Professor Kuzma. He's encouraging, caring, and patient with students, and gives great feedback. He's an exceptionally easy grader and I think he could be a little tougher, honestly. That said, he's one of the best professors I've had in college.

Dr. Kuzma is very passionate and that's what makes it engaging to listen to his lectures. Attendance and participation matters, so make sure you try to ask a question or make a comment during class, because that is part of your grade. He wants his students to succeed and gives plenty of opportunities to do so. You just have to put in the effort!

This is one of the best classes I have taken. He is engaging in his lectures and really cares about his students. If you need help with a topic, he is readily available outside of class. He has extra credit opportunities even though you won't need it. Pretty much, if you show up to this class, it is an easy A.

You will regret it if you do not take Kuzma for PHIL1000. His lectures are fantastic and it is so easy to follow him and remember what he says during class. We have taken 2 quizzes and they have both been open notes so make sure you show up to class and pay attention and you should be fine. Work your schedule to make sure you are in his class.

My favorite philosophy professor on campus. I am taking a third class with him next semester. Kuzma is very passionate about philosophy and his students. Depending on how engaged your class is he will let you use notes on tests.

Kuzma was wonderful. Even with the craziness of this COVID semester, Kuzma kept his cool. His class was well organized, and I was never confused on the assignments or quizzes. He was extremely compassionate and caring, he even rewarded our entire class by giving us all A's on one of the quizzes just for working hard. I would absolutely recommend.

Political Ideology class was very insightful. Discussion post every week, midterm paper, manifesto and final assignment was fun. No lectures but optional discussion meeting. Assignments aren't worth a lot of points, so each one counts. If you want an A gotta post quality content and papers. Great class for online format.

Dr. K is really good at explaining things, and you can tell he has a real passion for the subject. It's like a Kurzgesagt video, he explains in a way that makes you want to keep listening. His feedback is simple but potent, and he's respectful of everyone's opinions. 8/8, would recommend.

Kumza is a very fun teacher and doe well to make his class interesting and engaging. Had three quizzes overall and weekly discussions that were easy as long as you read the material. One of the coolest professors out there!

Kuzma was an amazing professor, and made me highly interested in philosophy. Assignments are usually discussions, with a short paper here and there. Kuzma made this class fun, easy to learn in, and engaging! I highly recommend him for philosophy classes, as he is genuinely interested in the topic. He is also very understanding and fun!

Dr. Kuzma's course was strictly online but had video blogs that explained EVERYTHING. So, if I had a question, I could find it on there most of the time. He also responds to emails pretty quick. He can take a while to input grades, but he is a great professor overall.

For his online class, he does video lectures that almost everything you need to understand the material. The textbook and reading are only important when quoting evidence because he also provides supplemental videos that are a lot easier to watch than reading. Only 3 quizzes and a weekly assignment. All of it is short answers and opinion-based.

Dr. Kuzma is a very solid professor! Super down to earth and understanding of diverse perspectives. I took his politics and law course and gained more than a understanding of politics; I gained a broader perspective of the world. Kuzma encourages his students to critically think and offers guidance through various perspectives on world issues.

Joseph Kuzma was easily the best philosophy professor I've had. His lectures are amazing, and if the students are willing to have good conversation and ask questions, there's nothing better. Kuzma really knows his stuff and is very willing to explore ideas and make your learning experience memorable. If I could, I would give him a 6 out of 5.

I've taken two of his classes now and he's one of my favorite profs ever! Very easy class if you participate and show up. He balances free thought with creating a safe environment well: I always feel comfortable with us discussing controversial ideas in class. Our class was early in the morning so sometimes he brought us donuts. Very cool and kind.

Dr. Kuzma is a fantastic professor! He is so nice and cares about everyone and wants them to succeed. I highly recommend this class for anyone who's interested in philosophy. I took this class as an elective, but barely spoke in class because I had so little to say. Even if you don't like philosophy, I still recommend this class since it's so easy.

Stellar professors, cyborgs, and monsters was fascinating. There is some very dull reading... There was a 3 page paper at the end- that was a bit tough concept-wise, but all in all, it was a solid, exciting class. 10/10

Amazing teacher - encourages everyone to speak up and participate, and offers a lot of praise/gratitude to those who do. I think that positivity helped the class become a very collaborative and participatory environment. You'll learn a lot and have fun doing so! Taking notes is definitely important, and if you're struggling, he will definitely help

Great teacher. I struggled with some of the concepts but he taught it well. Tests are open-book and debates are kept civil when discussing sensitive topics. Lots of extra credit opportunities with Philosophy club. Always very kind and never criticized you for wrong answers.

Professor Kuzma is the best! He is a really great explainer and if you come to class every day and do the reading and practice you'll most likely get an A. He cares more about his students than any professor I've ever seen, and he is a joy to listen to in lecture. Cannot recommend enough!

Professor Kuzma is so far my favorite Professor I have taken a class with at UCCS. Very intelligent and engaging in his lectures and easy to understand in a difficult subject matter.

Dr. Kuzma is an amazing professor! This class was super easy and not work-heavy at all while still super informational. You can get away with missing a few classes and he's pretty lenient. It's all graded on participation points, two exams, and two debates. He cultivates a classroom of respect from day one making it a class I never wanted to miss.

An absolutely amazing professor! You have to show up to each class to get graded for attendance & occasionally, group work, but his classes are very engaging and fun. Kuzma has a lot of charisma as a professor where he naturally makes his classes much better. His assignments and tests are reasonable, and it's overall a great experience.

If Dr. Kuzma is teaching a class I'm taking it. He gives some of the most engaging and interesting lectures I've ever heard at UCCS. He's easy to talk to and get ahold of, and makes you actively look forward to going to his class. Without question one of the best professors at the school.
