Very nice, helpful professor. Enthusiastic lecturer. Plus I found him extremely attractive :) Provided useful study guides. Gave opportunities to improve grade -resurrection final, etc- and get help -office hours, chempals. Would definitely take him again. Didnt find class too hard, but required consistent study and exercise practice to get A

Professor Lichter has been one of the most helpful and interested professors I've ever had the pleasure of learning from. He's there to help the students and make sure they learn the material. He is fair but strict, he will give the entire class a break if he sees the need but will NOT cut you slack individually. HE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE FOR HELP!

Professors as dedicated, empathetic and helpful as him are few and far between. Brings such a refreshing spirit to this usually impersonal school. Was very fair and gave plenty of chances and motivation to improve grade throughout the semester. His lectures were fun and engaging. Class was not the hardest, but demanded hard work to get a good grade.

Dr Lichter is a good professor. He is clear and concise when explaining topics. He does tend to speed through topics at times. The exams were challenging. I studied and did all the practice exams and problems in the book and obtained a slightly above average score. Multiple choice exams just are not made for upper division chemistry courses.

This professor is a genius, but doesn't know how to teach the in formation. He teaches it as if you already know the subject. I wouldn't recommend him at all. His practice exams that he gives are never like what he says the exam will be. To general in reviews, and his exams are multiple choice which suck. Hard teacher / Whatever teacher

Dr. Lichter goes very quickly and acts as if you already know the material. He gives out 3 pop quizzes on problems when he has taught theory and drops one but 2 of those quizzes count for 20% of your entire grade. Meaning, each pop quiz = 10% and each exam = 13%. Makes no sense right? He also is a bit reluctant when you ask him for help :(

This teacher is horrible. Going to class is useless because what he says doesn't make any sense. His tests are nothing like practice exams. He gives a review for the test, but leaves out things that should be studied, which he winds up putting on the test. Test are only about 12 questions, which leaves no room for error. His high rating doesn't apply to CHM3120. He uses a POGIL workbook in class but the lecture is just him giving the class 10-15 minutes to work on a # of problems in groups and give the answers when the time is up. He has ppts/videos that are barely helpful to learn the material. Class feels more like a study grp bc he doesn't teach/lecture at all.

Learn on your own time. His class is more of a study group where he gives a # of questions and makes students work in groups and LAs walk aroung the class to help He doesn't lecture AT ALL. Not a good class if you don't have time to learn material on your own without notes from the class to go along with. 2 quizzes 2 exams and 1 final.

Lichter is a great person who cares for his students and wants them all to pass. As an instructor, he is not the best because he doesn't teach, instead you teach yourself. In class, all you do is problems from a workbook with your group and wait till he goes over the answers. TESTS ARE DIFFICULT 2 exams, 2 quizzes, 12 HW, 1 final, extra credit.

Survey of chem is overall a hard subject because it goes through so much that is somewht difficult to grasp quickly. Lichter doesnt teach, he uses a textbook but it does help with common sense and kinda testing yourself. I did wish he taught a little more. He is very caring and if you do all his extra credits and do the work ull be fine

He's a solid choice for analytical chem. Funny, no curveballs, whatever is done in class is (verbatim!) on the exams and quizzes. Only downside is he is very big on interactive learning, he does not do much lecturing. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS! Clickers and just showing up counts for alot and can make the difference in a letter grade

Super good professor! Attendance is 20% of your grade, so if you like skipping class don't take him. The lecture is very important to learn so I do recommend attending. He is AMAZING! Gives extra credit for attending LA sessions.

Participation is 20% of your grade so attending class is a must! Active learning environment but kinda throws you into the content without a clear indication of what we are doing. Good at explaining why something is and how it makes sense but becomes difficult when applying it to problems. Need to study for your grade but doable! Makes you work for

Professor Lichter is an amazing professor! I really enjoyed taking his honors seminar class! You learn a lot and are given opportunities to be creative. He treats you like real honors students. You have to study for the quizzes and give your best work for the assignments. This goes for all honors classes he teaches! Engage in the class!

Professor Lichter is great! I took him for IDH 1001, 1002, and now 3034 and I'm glad I did! He invests time into creating an engaging and fun class that discusses topics that you would rarely see anywhere else. The amount of learning you can get from being in any of his classes is superlative, as long as you put your heart into it! 100% recommend!

Professor Lichter has got to be my favorite professor. He cares a lot about his students, and he is a really cool dude. He made the IDH class so much better. Also, he plays the banjo. I highly recommend taking him. You won't regret it.

Professor Lichter is really a great professor. The class requires work but it's definitely doable. You can see he actually cares that his students are learning and is really invested in watching them succeed. If you're struggling with an assignment you can send him a rough draft and he gives you great feedback.

As someone who struggled with chem throughout undergrad I was hesitant to take this upper division chemistry course. I really think the professor has a lot to do with how hard a class is and how much you enjoy it. Dr. Lichter truly made this class. He's funny and you can tell he cares about his students and what he teaches. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Lichter is a nice guy and is a good Professor. You will have to put in the work to get an A in this class so do not slack off. He also offers extra credit on exams. Be prepared to study, do the POGIL, and the required reading. If you do all these, you should definitely end with an A in the class.

Participation sometimes counts more than actual attendance. Just talk to him, hes super chill. Go to the study sessions w the LA's before the exam, he bases the actual exam on that practice. Tests should be easy, just dont slack. Try to get as much credit as possible on the HW, theyre annoying tho. Gives EC for tests.

I got an A in this class by going to lecture as he grades attendance. It's true he does not lecture like most prof instead makes you work in groups. If you don't work with your group and start slacking that's when it backfires. He honestly provides you with everything you need to do well, past exams, LA's, and extra credit.

I took his Tao of Sports class in person. We were required to do a 10k run and wrote a paper on it, took quizzes when class starts, and did a group project. Take advantage of the extra credit he puts out since it will help. Dr. Lichter is a cool guy, but he also encourages you to participate in his class. Please read the textbooks as well.

There were tons of assigments which is good because you have the opportunity to recover if there is something you did not do well on. In this class you will do a lot of self-learning which is not bad but I would like it better if he lectured a little more (just a little) Attend the LA's review sessions for the exams and you should be fine.

He made analytical a lot more fun than I thought it'd be. He's nice, and he'll work with you if you go to him and show him that you're putting effort into the class. I LOVED that he had us take notes outside of class. I think that's what really helped me get my A. He has the class read a sci-fi book and do projects on it, which were fun to work on.

His class was as easy as it could be. I studied only 10-12 hours per exam, doing the practice exams and homeworks and got an A on both exams. On top of that there's the reading assignment which is easy, not super time consuming. He gives an extra percent just by going to 6 LA sessions, I was able to speak to him during office hours, he's kind too.
