the teacher is nice, clear, straight to the point, not a lot of homework, when given homework you better do it, the tests are very straight forward and easy, overall, the class is pretty good and so is the teacher
Three tests during the semester. They are not hard. He tells what to study for them. Gives homework and requires you to complete it.
Great professor, better than Aquilino. Anything he teaches you is on the exam. He is straightforward like that, doesnt put anything foreign into his exams. Understand his homework assignments and youre good.
Best teacher I had so far. His classes are in the morning pain to get up but his class is not hard at all. He lets you out early. His tests are easy and always know how to do the homework problems .
esy as hell
he is a very easy professor all right but very boring, by the end of the class you will hate being an accounting major, all you are graded for is attendance and his class is at 7:00 am
he is one of the best professors in the school of business. He is easy and teaches real well. U'll actually learn something and not waste ur time.
Excellent teacher and a real nice, down to earth guy. Speaks very well and clearly. Exams are not easy but fair. Highly recommended.
He is nothing special. He tells us what to study as far as problems, multiple choice he favors certain chapters over others (its a guessing game which one).He dictates notes horrendously.
This Professor is very clear, straightforward and to the point. Classes are madd early but it pays off cuz he doesn't waste time. He teaches the most important things and lets you out early. If you do the HW and read over the chaps you'll pass his 3exams
Excellent teacher. Very knowledgeable. Exams are not easy(mult.choice)but fair. Study notes and do homework. Good guy. Had him for fundamentals and intermediate too.
a good prof. exams are exactly from his notes. lets you out early. teaches very well. easy to understand. make sure you do the homework though. participation counts.
Very straightforward. Awesome professor!
Very straightforward & to the point. He doesn't waste time teaching you stuff you don't need & he only puts things on the test that he has reviewed. Do the homework & study vocab and you'll pass with an A.
Waking up 7:00 a.m. is not exactly peaches & cream but he is definately worth taking. He is a very laid back teacher and always lets you out early. His MC on his exams are tricky but he always gives a curve no matter what. I would definately take him again if I could.
Watch out for his multiple choice questions, they are from the CPA exam. If you can manage them, you will get an easy A. Go to the accounting society meetings, they will help you bigtime in determining your final grade.
If you know some accounting take him. If you are willing to put 5 hours of studying a week take him as well. But if u don't know a single thing about accounting then DON'T. His classes are very early and u will miss a few if you are not an early bird.
Class was very enjoyable even at 7am. Excellent prof...learned alot. Do the hw and study and you will do fine. He is a real nice guy and is always willing to help if you need it. Taking him for tax next semester.

Not a very good teacher. Reads out of the book. Lets u out after 30 minutes of class. Do the homework, pay attention, and show up and a B is attainable.
Very cool bro.
Easy, Helpful Prof. Tests are similar to homework problems. Study some multiple choice questions from previous CPA tests and you will do fine. Attends accounting society meeting and his classes and you will get an "A". Good luck!!!
Excellent teacher....great guy
Very nice, laid back and cool about things, enjoyable class. However, favors girls over guys, and is a little......especially with the stupid ones that kiss *** to pass
Go to class and write down everything he says and study it for the exams. Read the parts in the book that he mentions and do the homework and if you don't get an A please see a physician.
Just write everything he says and study it. Read the book and do homework and u should get an A. He is also very hot!
Great Teacher, very knowledgable, and helpful, homework problems are exactly similar to one's on the exam. read carefully for MC's Exams can be tricky, attend accounting society meetings, you are guranteed an A.
PEOPLE HEADS UP!!! IF you think that this teacher is a good option, think again!! I really don’t know what happen to him, but he really changed his way of teaching! He lectures very fast and let the class go like after 1h for a 3h class. HWS are not bad but the exams ARE NOT EXACTLLY like the HWS as other people say. He just keeps the easy things f
Oh my goshss.... the final was impossible!! it is true he does not teach and expects you to know everything for the exams?? you gotta be kidding me!! DON`T TAKE HIM!!!
Lipari is the officially the best professor at MSU!! Exams r crystal clear!!Read the notes and do the hw assignments and your guaranteed an A ,uses class time wisely, very helpful, caring and just wished he taught more classes!!! had him for intermediate, tax and financial.
Anyone that complains about Lipari and his way of teaching has serious mental issues. He couldn't have made it any easier. the next thing left for him to do is give us a copy of the exam. Now come on. Anyone who put in at least a little effort should be guaranteed an A.Who would want to stay a 3 hour class that can be taught for an hour.u be thejudg
Don't understand how anyone can write negative about this prof. Yes he lets us go early but teaches exactly what's coming on the exam so there is no extra studying. Homework works tremendously, it is not mandatory but definitely recommended, and shows up on exams. Anyone who put mild effort will easily pass with at least a B. Taking him for TAX 08
HE is Lazy
great guy, usually ends class early, very laid back. Whatever he teaches you will be on the test. I recommend
Very nice prof. teaches you only the things that are important and what will be on his tests. Attendence is mandatory, but that only helps you. A little bit of studying at home and you will do good in his class (just make sure you ask questions if you don't understand something).
Lipari is the man! I wish he taught more accounting classes, I would take him in a heart beat!!!
Extremely lazy. Doesn't use the book. So those of you who have very little idea about tax, avoid him at all costs. He reads out notes in class. So, the whole time you're struggling to keep up with him. Exams are really tough. In all fairness,he teaches only the important materials. If i had known his style of teaching, would have never taken him.
He tells you what's going to be on the tests, everything is based on class notes and HW. A lot of extra credit assignments. Especially on the last part of the semester he gets lazy and won't teach well, but he is easy anyway.
Lectures well, lets you out early alot. He tells you examples of what will be on test. Give extra credit problems if test scores are not great. Do homework and listen to lectures, you should do fine.
Seems like the previous person is confused. Degaetano covered Lipari's 201 class in the fall. I had Lipari for 301...he's very good.
Great prof, easy going, straight forward tests, no surprises..take himmmmmm
Had him twice now, and hoping to take him again. Excellent teacher. You won't regret taking his class.
I would take any class he teaches. One of the best teachers there, maybe because he is actually in the business, and knows whats what because of practical experience? Study, do the homework and extra credits, ask questions. Not the easiest A, but absolutely possible if you do what you need to. Also just a nice guy, but knows his stuff.
it's surprising to me that I'm always wide awake for his 7AM class. He knows what he's talking about. whatever he goes over in class will be on the exam. def. recommend him. he makes class interesting. exams are not hard if you study in advance, of course.
cool proff 3exms 1 18hrprjct+xc (anothr projct+paper+mock interview+attendance to meetings) interestin class lets out 25mins early evrytime but exams are exactly of wat he spoke in class mst take notes and mayb read the book def recomnd i personaly dnt take acct classes dat he teaches if not with him, lay bck, cancelld class twice to go vacation
Professor Lipari, Has Excellent communication skills when he explained the information for Financial Accounting 301. Also, he gives out extra credit work that could boost your grade but he does not curve his test nor final grade.
Prof. Lipari is so knowledgeable in what he teaches. I am not a bus major and he made it possible to understand the info by breaking things down in his own words and providing examples. It is definitely possible to do well in this class, just depends how much u apply urself, like doing the uncollected hw. easy to understand, easy to talk to, great!
Very nice guy, I enjoyed this class even though I am not an accounting major. He gives great notes but some MC questions on his exam come from the book which you MUST have. takes attendance every class, not mandatory homework assignments each class, offers extra credit. 3 exams. Not too bad overall, I liked this professor.
Lipari knows the material and is straight-foward in explaining financial accounting. No regrets taking this 7 am course. Liked his teaching style so much that I'm taking him for ACCT 305 next semester. 3 exams, 1 five page paper, a project, 1 mock interview, and a resume seminar that all acct majors must attend. Lipari is the man.
I wish Professor Lipari taught more accounting classes. 3 exams and mandatory attendance. He offers 3 methods of extra credit. It's impossible not to get an A as long as you put in the time. He's also a generous grader provided that you do the HW (it's not collected or graded) and attend class.
Prof lipari was the best professor I've had at montclair. Teaches you step by step how to do everything ! Very straight forward and not confusing at all. Love him!! I wish he taught acct 202
Extremely laid back. Nice guy. Teaches the material in a nonchalant way. His tests can get tricky but overall, pretty easy. He understands that we're not accounting majors so he's not nit-picky - take him.
Very laid back and an amazing professor. He explains very clearly and for his tests make sure to study the homework problems well. I got 2 Bs and 1 A on my exams and ended up with an A for the class. Love this professor he was amazing!! Also, let's you out of class early too.
Because this is an introduction course, he believes that you don't need to go into great detail. He teaches you what he will test you on. Take good notes and study them, YOU WILL PASS. He gives homework that he does not collect. You should practice the homework. 3 Exams, 1 Extra Credit Assignment. TAKE HIM.
LiPari was very nice and laid back. However, he does not teach with clarity and rushes through class. Although it's nice to get out of class early, it actually made it harder to pass. It's a good refresher course for someone taking accounting, but if you're learning accounting for the first time this class is terrible. You'll have to teach yourself
He is very mellow. He teaches the important information about accounting. I'm taking him again next semester. The way he teaches the material makes it easy to understand. The book was needed. He's a good professor to understand the basic of accounting.
he was okay. definitely rushed through the material. very laid back and relaxed. if you do the homework and take notes the class shouldn't seem as hard for just starting accounting. uses similar problems from the homework on the exam. as you put more work into this class it should come easy. curves the 2 exams.
I got a 74 84 n 78 n got a b idk how lol he's generous In grading for sure.
Really clear and helpful professor. Knowledgeable and straight to the point. Def take him!
Great professor. Fair exams, very knowledgable, doesn't load you down with unnecessary homework, fantastic lectures. Look over the chapters before the exams and you'll be fine. Take him and you won't be disappointed.
He's very straight forward. He's really nice and understanding and if you come to class and do the work and put the effort in you'll be fine. TEXTBOOK is a must. He's a very good professor and is good at teaching. Homework helps alot.
Good guy, felt like he rushed through the material a bit but was clear in the lectures. His very generous and is there for you.
Honestly, he was a great teacher, the class is just really hard if you don't understand Accounting. He gives extra credit, and drops the lowest grade. He also lets you out really early, especially with the 7-9:30 am class.
Professor Lipari was great!! Really cool guy. Doesn't rush to finish his lectures. The tests are pretty difficult but if you study you'll be fine. Assigns extra credit which helps. Would recommend!
7AM tax class does not sound fun but LIPARI is the man! He is hilarious and makes a boring class that much more interesting. He also never holds you past an hour and a half. His tests are fair; only what is covered in class is on the exam. PS: If you take notes, don't buy or rent the textbook- just get the homework questions from a friend.
Best Prof in the School of Business that I had so far. Easy to understand and makes tax interesting because he has a lot of practical experience. Looked forward to his class even at 7am. Wish he taught more classes.
He makes the most confusing information sound easy and understandable. He doesn't rush to fit all the information in a lecture and takes it one step at a time. Doing the homework and taking notes will be extremely beneficial to you. Tests are pretty easy if you do your part and study hard. Overall, great professor who is understanding and kind.
Best professor I have taken so far. He wants his students to learn and would be willing to help outside of class, if needed. Three exams and an extra credit assignment at the end of the semester so it's just the right amount work. Would definitely recommend him 100%.
Well, this professor is good but needs to improve the way he grades because he gives you a lot of homework per class but don't give you any points or credit for that. Exams consist in 50 questions each one. The extra credit is only 3 points, but it is really really hard
BEST PROFESSOR AT MSU! I wish I could take him for all of my Accounting classes because I always learn something new every single class, and when class ends, I remember it all! He is a rare jem that I am so thankful I took him.
Great Professor
Terrible Professor! Never reviews for exams and expects us to know everything. Teaches for like 5 minutes and then has us doing practice problems that he never teaches
Lipari is the man! I wish he taught every accounting class at MSU!
Easy class to pass. The textbook is online for free just search the name of the book. There are 2 mid terms and a final. A few events you have to go to and a 5 page paper. Overall very easy class to pass if you study hard.
He is a nice and funny guy. His lectures are considered too casual for new students to understand the principle of accounting so in order to do good on the test, u might as well read the textbook and teach urself. He will give u some curve on the tests but don't rely on them too much. He goes over homework during his lectures so pay attention.
LiPari was chill and straight forward. His lectures were highlights of key aspects of the chapters and simple reviews of the homework, so you should read. He reviewed what to study for the tests, especially the problems. Your grade is based on one 5 page paper, 2 midterms, homework, a few events, and a final. Not hard, but not super easy.
Really chill dude. Clearly knows what hes talking about.
Basically, teach yourself. Read the textbook. Nice guy tho.
Great professor. Assigns homework every class, reviews it in class without grading it. 3 exams with multiple choice and 2-3 problems. Multiple choice questions come straight out of the textbook, make sure you read each chapter.
Very lecture heavy, he talks like he expects you to write every word he says. Very frustrating for me personally. He also doesn't use canvas (in any of his class) so don't expect to know your grade
Take this guy! Tests are okay as long as you study all your notes and read your textbook. Graded on 3 test(30-40 mc), a 5 pg paper and he sometimes collects homework. Extra credit is easy but long. He assigns homework every class but it's very helpful for the test. He is very nice and chill so he is definitely easy to talk to.
Because he is an Accountant he expects you to have knowledge about accounting two midterms one final and 5 page paper test is really hard because he clearly dont review and multiple choices are from book tricky question have to memorize the book to pass test some do well becaus they have peoeple take picture for them or get from last semester
Lipari is the GOAT!!!!!! Best professor at MSU. He is funny and his lectures are very enjoyable, it is an easy class if you make the homework and memorize some definitions from the book. Overall nice class with a great guy!!!!!
Lipari is a great professor. Do the work and your fine. Write down everything he says in class because that is exactly what is on the test. He does not throw any random material from the textbook on the test that he did not mention in class. Assigns HW everyday which is easy. Open ended test problems are exactly like hw problems. no surprises.
Prof Lipari is super easy. I was graded by four tests and one paper the whole semester. However he is very lecture heavy, and his lectures are about as exciting as watching paint dry.
Such a great professor, very accommodating and very straight to the point. He does not grade homework or attendance, but he still marks who shows up and also goes over the homework so he knows who does it. Only downside is since he does not grade homework you are only graded off of the 3 exams and a paper. He is very clear in lectures.
Professor LiPari's lecture are clear. Everything you need for the test is his lecture. So get ready to take notes. There are 3 test and 1 paper. You don't need to hand in any hw, he goes over it during class. But doing the hw helps better understanding.
He is a very monotone guy. He explains once so be sure you understand the first time around. He is very hw oriented. If you don't do the hw you won't pass. His class is boring but easy.
This class is not too difficult if you listen to every word he says and take good notes. Don't buy the loose leaf, the textbook is much cheaper on Wiley to rent and it is the same thing. 90% of your grade is based on the exams, all the content is told by the professor, if you skip class, you will fail. Do homework's, they are the exam open ended's!
Study for your exams and do the homework assignments.
Take him!
Lipari is a great prof, and his class was quite easy. If you took accounting previously, this class is a breeze. If you've never taken accounting, it will most likely be fine. He gives good lectures and usually lets class out very early. He only has a few quizzes and a few exams. He is a VERY lenient grader and he curves grades WELL. Take him!
I really liked him. His lectures were short and to the point. He usually lets you out early. Quizzes were straightforward, and the tests were hard if you show up to class. Definitely take him.
One of best ACCT professors at MSU. Would absolutely take him again. 3 tests which curve which are hard if you don't study your notes and hw. If you study you will pass. Also, gave a 5 page paper to boost you grade up. Take him !
This professor was great and you should definitely take him! He will always tell you exactly what will be on the quizzes and always gives an overview of what will be on the exam. Just show up to class and make sure to take notes. He also lets you leave early most classes and goes through the lectures pretty quickly.
He was an ok prof. What really got me was his class is at 7 in the morning and his tests were 50 questions mcq in paper.
Overall a great professor and straight forward regarding what he expects from his students. Attendance is necessary as everything he goes over ends up on the test. Only con is he has a very monotone voice, can be difficult to follow along at times.
My favorite professor hands down. As long as you go to class and take notes on his lecture, then study the notes a bit you should do decently in the class. He also tells you what to study before the exams. He is super understanding and kind as well. Take him!
Very straightforward professor. Lecture heavy, but if you pay attention you should have no problem passing. He gave a huge curve on each test, and prepares you sufficiently for every assignment. Do the homework, go to class, it will be easy.
Honestly not a bad professor at all, 3 exams 50 MC questions, (he did curve my classes tho bc we all had like 50/60s before curve) and one 15 page paper, but if you take notes all semester long its so easy, just basically a 15 page paper of the stuff you learned all semester. Would take again, he does take attendance but you can def skip classes
Lipari's class is pretty straightforward. Attend lectures, take good notes, and utilize resources like the textbook and Unstuck study to prep for exams. He's a lenient grader who curves well. Overall, a solid class to take.
Very good professor. Teaches well but can get boring. 3 quizzed, 3 exams, 1 paper. Tells you exactly what will be on them. They tests are not hard but you should still study
3 quizzes + 3 exams with 50 mcqs. He tells you exactly what's on them and what to study so it's hard to not pass. 7 page paper that is also fairly easy. Each exam is worth 20% of your grade, each quiz worth 5%, and the paper worth 25%. He grades exams on a curve. Attendance is not mandatory but he bumps you up a half letter grade if it was good.
I had heard many good things about LiPari, but honestly I was really disappointed. He barely teaches in class. He says everything once and then expects you to remember it for the test. He goes over the bare minimum in class and then the exams are in depth. The only reason people do well on the exams is because he curves them.
TAKE HIM. Straightforward professor. 3 exercise quizzes and 3 exams with 40 MC question and 2 exercises. He tells you exactly what's on them. 7 page paper that is fairly easy. Each exam is worth 20% of your grade, each quiz 5%, and the paper 25%. He grades exams on a curve. Do the homework, go to class, it will be easy.
Professor gives you the foundation for what you need to pass his class. It is up to you to take home the material, read the book, and apply it in class. You are graded by very few things so each class is a foundation for the next class. He is very kind and understanding and while lectures can be boring, he will make sure you understand.
