There is assignments due every week, 4 quizzes and many papers throughout the semester. must make time for this course and give it your all you learn to become a better writer and learn alot as well. Professor is fair and great at explaining and amazing at replying when you need.

Professor Lozada was great. It was a writing intensive class, a lot of work but that is to be expected. Weekly discussion boards & you must be active. His papers seemed like a lot of work, but he is pretty straightforward with what he wants and is a fair grader in that sense. He gives you great feedback, and really does help improve writing skills.

This was an online class. Once you get used to his teaching style, you will do better and better. You absolutely have to read the material thoroughly! And take notes on all videos because some quizzes have questions regarding certain videos.

Lozada's class has been the toughest class I have ever taken. I loved the material being taught, it was very interesting and I felt it could be applied to my future. Since the course I took was asynchronous, it was basically self-taught. However, the professor provided substantial material to guide us. Being an online class, it is very important to stay organized and the professor posted a list of tasks that needed to be completed each week with clear due dates. The only thing that I wish was different, was that the start of the "work week" was Friday. So, the professor would post the work for that week on Friday and it would be due on Thursday.

The professor was really good at breaking down difficult concepts and made the class fun to be a part of. His passion for the subject made me want to learn more, and he created a supportive atmosphere that encouraged everyone to participate. BUT be ready to write a lot!!!!

At the start of this class I was very irritated with the amount of work that we were being given. Overtime, I got used to it & it became a routine. This class is a very rigorous class. I do NOT recommend taking it with any other writing intensive course. In the end, I learned a lot about the different components of juvenile delinquency.

The prof is great, he's passionate, and he is easy to talk to during class. He genuinely wants to see you improve. Provides great feedback, would recommend for those who have a good work ethic.

Professor Lozado cares about his students. He is a tough grader but takes the time to read your paper and gives clear feedback. His exams are open-book and he posts everything on BrightSpace. My writing wasn't the best before this class, I think my writing got better. During lectures he sometimes gave life advice that I appreciated. I recommend him

I didn't find it difficult. For me, it was all about managing my time and taking advantage of the extra credit he gave us. You'll be fine!

Typical work that you would expect from a summer class. Quizzes and two essays. He gives good feedback and answers email quickly.

Honestly I like that prof. Lozada knows his stuff. Lectures were clear, exams are fair (but a little heavy for summer), and he also showed us that he actually cares if we were learning. If you show up and put in effort, you're good. Would 100% take again but I'm graduating!!

Learned a lot but just like everyone else here, you can expect to write a lot. But he did explain this and at least he gives extra credit to help us. So I did like that. I recommend but only if you have the time to spend on the assignments

Overall, I enjoyed Prof. Lozada's class. Gave plenty of examples for the more vague theories and give us many study techniques to do well in his class. He likes you to use examples directly from the textbook so be prepared for that. Follow all his instructions and you'll be fine.

Took this prof. last semester and liked that he is knowledgeable on soc/cj. Emailed him about possible careers, gave me good stuff to look into and liked how he was always open to questions or if you need feedback. A lot of his focus is on prepping you for real world experience with jobs & life, and not just a grade.

He is a fun and engaging Professor. Very passionate about what he teaches. Theres a lot of writing and reading but if you are up to date with his class you should be fine.

Professor Joseph Lozada presents material in an engaging way, making complex concepts easier to understand. His grading is transparent, and the feedback you receive is very constructive which helps students improve throughout the course.

This online course is not an easy A+ course. It involves discussion posts and responding to a peer in essay format. Zoom meetings are important because he explains everything that needs to be done more clearly and goes over the chapter in a PowerPoint format, which was very helpful. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit (do them!).

Second time have prof. Lozada. Liked how organized and detailed the course is. He sometimes over explains (but I guess it's for others) but it does make it very predictable making it easy to follow (well at least for me). I recommend using the PowerPoints as this helped me keep organized.
