There is a ton of material to learn, but he definitely makes it a lot easier.
I REALLY enjoyed his class!;)sad that it has to end. He really good at explaining things crystal clear. And he's really helpful if you needed help. He'll review what's gonna be on the test. His tests are hard but if you study and go over his notes, you'll be fine. We only have 3 test and 3 Lab test. Best prof ever! ;)
the class was really interesting, and prof m taught it very well!
Professor Malaer was absolutely amazing as an instructor. he was organized, knowledgeable, informative, provided details, and extremely fair on grading. He brought extra information and examples related with the topics and didn't rely only on the textbook. I would recommend him as a professor to anyone.
I took a summer A&P I course, and it was definitely challenging. Prof M tried to make the material as clear and easy as possible. He even showed up on a saturday to open lab for us so that we could have extra time to study. I definitely recommend him, but don't take a summer course! I will be taking one of his courses this fall
Prof Malaer is easy to approach, and is very willing to meet outside of class. He offered extra credit on every exam, and a separate extra credit assignment. There are plenty of opportunities to raise your grade. He gives a review for each chapter, and if you study the reviews and show up to class you will do fine!
Was very Nice, I took this class in Summer, just was He gave tooo much Material, other A&P teachers said it was too much and some info not needed. More extra credit would have been nice, Labs were confusing, and after the 2nd Test, Tests were harder. Just take Tammy Oliver only at Eastfield. Shes Perfect! Got into her class for Fall!
The class started off easy but became really hard. A lot of the terminology taught is outdated and it was very unclear what we were supposed to really study for the test(stuff on review wasn't on test, review lacked some info on the test) He also doesn't keep track of labs which leads to grade disputes that can't be checked. Nice guy, bad teacher.
Prof M is easy-going and has a very well-explained form of presenting information. There is a lot of info to learn, but if you stick with it and do the reviews you will do well. This class is really interesting and prof m is an awesome teacher! I would recommend him to anyone!
he relates the topics to every day circumstances and most of what he said in lecture stuck with me better than if I would read. he tries to give lots of examples and case studies to make the course interesting and applicable to healthcare. he really cares and enjoys this subject!
his teaching style is very enjoyable and he makes the material easy to understand. The best part about this class was prof m. he made the class fun and i enjoyed his quirky and witty remarks throughout this semester.his high rating actually means something. he is really fair and offers many chances for students to succeed. he wants you to succeed!
there are some teachers that are not good at teaching, but prof m is not one of those! He made this class fun and interesting and is really enthusiastic. sometimes he will speak a little fast but don't be afraid to ask him to slow down. he will always try to match the pace of the class! I highly recommend him!
I took Prof. M for both A&P and Micro. This is the third time I have taken Micro and I love the way that Prof. M teaches. I failed both times I took micro before and I am so lucky that I found him. He offers plenty of opportunities to talk with him AND he tutors every week. You have to study and work hard, but he will be there to help!
AMAZING PROF!!! and it helps that he is hot and dresses well.
he makes everything perfectly understandable. the best decision i made this semester was taking him. will be taking him in the fall for a&p 2
i am so glad that i picked mr. m as my professor. the material is tough but he make it easier and clearer for us to understand. he expects you to study, and because most the class are going into healthcare he has high standards.
amazing, chill, down to earth, funny prof! he will explain something that is extremely complex, but then break it down with an analogy and it all makes sense!
attendance is mandatory and part of your grade. The material is hard but Mr. M is a great teacher and super knowledgeable. He is really smart and interested in Bio/A&P/Micro. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. I brought my grade up from a 86 to an A with it.
Prof M was amazing! Even though it was a summer course, he kept a reasonable pace and was always available for extra help. I have him for A&P2 and micro this fall!
amazing! can't wait for micro in the spring! he is really easy to approach and ask questions, and he will make sure you understand. he asks tons of questions during lecture to keep you thinking.
Mr. M was one of the best teachers I've ever had. The class was a bit hard, but it is A&P, what would you expect? He was really good at explaining the material and making sure you understood and made it all perfectly clear. He was always available if you needed extra help.
Anyone who gives Prof. M a bad review, probably didn't study. He knows his material and expects you to study. I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I still think he is one of the best. He is always available to tutor if you need additional help, but you have to go to him. Will be taking him in the summer for micro!
You want to have a heart attack all semester, then this is your class to take. This experience was HORRIBLE! He gives grades a week later, his test are hard, he lectures in lab and worst of all he is rude. Our class started with 30 and ended with 7 and his extra credit is attending science clubs meetings. He doesn't give reviews.
he is awesome! theres a lot of information but he gives chapter reviews so you know what to expect. he also has lots of extra credit, but you have to be willing to do it.
He seems like a good guy but he's not a very good teacher, this is Eastfield, not freaking Harvard. I asked for help or extra credit or anything I could do to pass and he pretty much said, sorry not sorry. I studied my butt off and worked really hard but still had to drop this class. His lectures were reading off the board, no clear explanations.
I had Prof M last fall, and now I am in nursing school. His class has definitely prepared me, he cares about his students and he is tough. but this is to prepare you for what is to come. he is great at explaining difficult concepts, and does offer extra credit. You just have to start doing it from day 1.
Professor Malaer is like any other person, you may or may not like him. Personally I thought he was excellent. I took micro at a university last semesster and it was horrible. He was perfectly clear with teaching the material, his expectations, and what would be on the exams. You just have to pay attention. Oh, and do the extra credit.
In his class for summer, and will take A&P1 with him in the fall. He's a funny guy and awesome teacher.
His test are very hard. He is very strict and uptight. Not much of a people person. My classmates and I felt uneasy about asking questions because his response left us feeling intellectually challenged. Quite a bit of students dropped the class and the class average was low. He is however very knowledgeable.
The guy look nice, young and and friendly but do not be fooled by his looks, he is tough, expects you to already know the material "for goodness sake if i know this material why i am here", he will give you an F if you miss spell or did not dot your i 's if you are taking this as a refresher, he is great otherwise run.
great guy and great prof. many people in class don't really try but if you pay attention and talk to him outside of class he is great and gives you lots of attention and help. will be taking a&p2 and micro with him as well.
Had him for A&P 1 and 2 last fall and spring, it was hard but honestly because of him I aced my HESI. I met with him a few times after to get study tips and to help understand some of the material again. If you want to go into healthcare, you don't want an easy class.
TOUGH! He teaches micro like its a graduate class. DONT take this class at the same time you are taking other science classes, YOU WILL NOT PASS! He is very clear and helpful with labs and lectures. There is comprehensive material on ALL lecture exams. I did enjoy his lab however if you miss class you WILL NOT PASS. Deducts points for attendance.
Very tough on his students and the class was very hard. We had long lectures in lab class and continued even longer lectures in lecture class. Attendance affects your grade and studying is a must. Grading policies were ridiculous. For example, you get points deducted on an exam if you "write too much" even if you answered correctly. Pop Q's also.
Professor Malaer is a very knowledgeable professor. He is precise. He is friendly and helpful. He is approachable and willing to help you. The class is not easy; you must read, study hard, and memorize for lab practicals. However, you do want a hard professor like him if you want to succeed in healthcare. I do recommend him. You do not need book
if you plan to go into healthcare, you should take his class. not only will he teach you what you need to know and make sure you know it, but he will help answer any questions about healthcare fields and give advice. I am taking him for A&P2 as well. You don't need the texbook, just have to come to class and pay attention.
His class is difficult BUT he makes everything so much easier if you meet him halfway. I took him for summer and fall a couple years ago and both of his A&P classes prepared me for my upper level biology courses. The office hours are a good time to take advantage of. He was also willing to help me a few semesters after I finished his class.
Malaer comes off as very arrogant and self absorbed. A bit of a queen. Expect you to come in remembering everything about Biology and already knowing Microbiology. Moves through the material very quickly. Reluctant to ask anything, kinda puts you on the spot.
Will not recommend this professor, he is very knowledgeable but comes off unapproachable
BEST decision I made! Yes he expects you to study. Yes he expects you to learn the material. But he is also there if you make the effort to ask for help. I came to his office and he helped walk me through the material. He also helped with my chemistry and algebra classes I was taking.
i got into my nursing program at el centro thanks to prof m. he was a great teacher and even helped advise me during my application.
great prof! some people are just haters, or don't study.
he tells many stories and anecdotes to help us learn the information. He also makes us laugh during lecture and it is obvious he loves what he does. He tells you everything you need to know for the exam; but it is up to you to study the information.
got into nursing school because of him. Took A&P I, II, and Micro.
Great professor! He explains material very well and if you do not understand something, he is more than willingy to reiterate. He is a very reasonable professor. I noticed that he shows leniency if he knows you are actually putting in the time and effort to study and learn the material. He also gives extra credit. That's always a plus.
Prof. M is very straightforward. He will tell you what you need to know, and it is your job to study. I had him over the Summer.
Outrageous expectations. This guy is paranoid that everyone is cheating. UNREASONABLE! Don't torture yourself. Run the other way! Gives pop quizzes on exam day, rigid, unapproachable, arrogant-assigned a 7 page lab report paper that was absurd. Treats the class like a masters level class instead of sohpomore level at a community college.
If your answer is not 100% correct, it's wrong. That means yes, spelling counts on Lab exams. Good luck on the group project (TBL) because your contribution can be amazing, but if everyone else doesn't meet criteria, the whole group gets points deducted. Amazing teacher, but he's a tough grader and class already is extremely hard.
Prof. M is one of the best I have had at eastfield. Yes he is hard, but he makes sure that you know the material. Everyone in class needs to take this for some reason, and he is preparing us. I studied and went to his office for help. If you put in the effort, you will succeed. This was my second time taking micro, and he was better.
one of the best
One of the hidden gems at Eastfield. He will meet you halfway, but you have to pull your own weight. I couldn't have succeeded in nursing school without him.
THis professor is knowlable but makes the class very hard. He expects for you to know to his level and to answer. Lab test are hard he expect you to knw what type of bacteria is growing just by looking at it.
awesome teacher. he clearly explains everything and if you pay attention he tells you what you need to know for the exams. if you're trying to be a nurse, he will definitely get you prepared for nursing school.
Great at teaching the material. He tells you what you need to know, all you have to do is study it. You will definitely learn the material and get into the program you want. I went to his office often and he was more than happy to answer questions or explain something over again.
can't wait to take his micro course in the fall. If you want to succeed, he is the man to help you.
hilarious, relaxed, and fun. keeps the class interesting if you pay attention.
just finished another course with prof M. I've had some bad professors in the past, but he isn't one of them. he teaches the material in a manner that is easy to understand.
One of the best Prof's I have ever had. Don't take this class if you're not willing/able to commit to the workload (bc it's a lot) or else you'll fail. He's super helpful out of the classroom. Don't hesitate to go to his office bc you're going to need it!! You get the grade that you work for.
Prof. M is great. He is a difficult professor, but A&P should be hard. He will prepare you for Nursing school. You get out of his class what you put in. If you want an easy A don't take, but if you want to do well in nursing school he's a must take.
You get what you put in. He is tough, but he is always there to help you outside of class. Whether that is an email, stopping by his office, or even if you catch him at Starbucks (the one near Town East Mall). He wants you to succeed, but won't just hand out A's.
the semester just started but i know that it will be a fun class.
about to finish a&p and it was a great semseter. i feel most people who don't like professor malaer don't try. but if you actually try, you will succeed. i know that i have learned so much and feel confident ill get into nursing school.
i failed micro the first time i took it, i looked up reviews and took it with mr. m again. he was awesome! micro was hard for me to pick up, but i met with him in his office and he really does want everyone to learn and get an a. i wish i took more of his classes.
i've taken a&p before but it is so much better with malaer. unfortunately i just had to drop the class due to personal matters but plan to take him again in the fall.
Prof M, is a fantastic prof if you want to learn. If you just want to make an A or a good grade go elsewhere. His exams are hard and labs are even harder, no easy way out. No doubt about Prof M's knowledge of the subject, he is good. He is a tough, one that is expected of a university professor instead of a community college. Good Luck!
you have to work for your grade, but prof M is there to help if you ask for it. he offered extra credit and responded to emails quickly. I definitely learned a lot and prof M is great at teaching.
excellent teacher! the tests were hard, but he forced me to learn and study. one of the best classes I have ever taken.
the hardest part of any class is the self disciple and motivation. unfortunately i didnt pick that up until halfway through. but prof m did a great job explaining everything and emphasizing what would be on the exams.
Awesome prof! Just study and do the work.
took him a couple semesters ago and he helped me so much. i came to his office often and he helped me with figuring out the nursing application process and now i am in a BSN program. couldnt have done it without his help. he definitely cares!!!!!
Best. Teacher. Ever. And I got into his summer micro course!!
pay attention and he tells you exactly what is on his exams and what you need to study. he will literally say "this is on the exam, do you understand it?" He also posts a list of review questions that focus on the important points of the chapter.
Its only been a couple weeks and I completely understand why people take him and why his students succeed
Im in Prof Ms Saturday 8 week hybrid A&P course. He does a great job at reminding us what we have to do each week and he explains the hard material really well during lecture. I really wish I took him the first time I took A&P. Overall I think the whole class likes him.
Prof. M's class was probably the hardest one that I have taken. but now that I am taking pathophysiology in nursing school, everyone else is struggling while i'm not. Prof M prepared me so well for all of the courses I have taken so far and i am glad that i listened to other stuents and took him.
was in prof m's micro and a&P 2 course. wish i took him for a&P 1. I ended up aceing my hesi and first semester nursing courses thanks to him. you will work for it, but he is there to prepare you. i went to his office all of the time to ask him questions. he was always helpful and willing to explain anything i didnt understand.
taking a&p 1 right now. best decision ever. i am retaking a&p 1 and 2 because i didn't do well or learn that much before, but i am learning so much now and it is making sense. he does a great job of breaking down complex material
he is hard on you because he cares. he really wants everyone to do well and to succeed in life. but you have to put in the work. he responds to emails really fast and is willing to tutor outside of class.
I wish I would've skipped to the bottom of his page to see the bad ratings. He is very knowledgable but he runs his class like if we were graduate students. If you have trouble with A&P, I do not recommend this professor. It amazes me that he wonders why his students don't do well in his class. We started out with 24 students and it ended with 10.
This is college class so not an easy class obviously. Malaer is hard but if try passing with an A is very possible. Anything covered in lecture is on exams outside lecture is not on exams. Got an A for BIOL2401 and will take again for 2402
Everything on his powerpoints are on his exams. Attendance is mandatory. Boring lecture but easy A.
Tough class good and caring teacher. Lectures are little bit tedious. No extra credits given. HW on Mastering. Exams are based on his PPTs and not the textbook. Easy A if come to class and self study his PPTs.
His area of expertise is Microbiology. If you need this as a class I suggest you take someone else. If you really want to learn microbiology, take him. He is not an easy A expects you to already have knowledge of this class. pop quizzes are given in lab.
Wouldnt recommend taking his lecture part very hard class and you will pass based off his exams.
He explains the material well. If you show up and study you will do well.
He offers extra credit and cares about his students. He answers emails really quick and tries to help you succeed.
I took his online lecture part. He gives a specific to do list each week and if you study the powerpoints you will do well. He also has office hours if you have any questions.
The switch to 8 weeks was a hard adjustment for me. But he gives a weekly recommended study schedule that helped me. You have to put in extra time but it is possible to do well. If I had more time I probably would have gotten an A.
Wouldnt recommend taking this class Professor is very straight forward test are okay but he really didnt explain anything , you will spend a lot of time with the DSM class was overwhelming and I had to drop way before the drop date.
straight forward and treats you like an adult. there seems to be a lot of haters, but you get what you put in. follow his review questions and ask for help if you need it
great professor. really cares and teaches the material well. i recommend taking his class and not online
about to finish the class and i will be taking him in the summer for micro. if you need help you just have to ask. i met with him in his office and he tutored me and he offers extra credit throughout the semester
if you pay attention in class and do his study guides you will do well. his exams are straightforward and are from his lectures and powerpoints. reading the book wasn't helpful for me
he is an amazing teacher and really cares. if you ask for help, he will go above and beyond. this was my 3rd time taking a&p and i honestly didnt think i would pass it but he really helped me understand the material. he also gave lots of extra credit but you have to do all of your work first and not miss class
A hard grader but his lectures are pretty good
do. not. take. this. professor.
Had him for A&P. Im in nursing school now and I dont think I would have passed my pathophysiology course if it wasnt for what I leaned in his class.
If this was a graduate class, he would be a great professor. I understand the fact he expects us to retain some knowledge from Biology but he's too critical and not really helpful during tutoring, he was on his phone the whole time. Would not take again ever, even the other professors knew he was a tough class.
funny, caring, and teaches well. if you pay attention, he tells you what you need to know. he always answers emails quickly and is ready to help if you need it. i went to him during his office hours with specific questions and he took the time to answer them. best decision ever if you want to go into healthcare
summer class is almost halfway over, and it has been great so far. its a bit faster but i went to his office and he explained everything i had problems with and even drew out some of the steps. excellent teacher and he really cares. the first exam had a high class average
This guy is a mess. I took him because he had good reviews and I regret it completely. DO NOT TAKE HIM
well organized, clear, and helpful. cant ask for more really. follow the schedule, do the work, and ask for help if you need it. he taught the lecture part which was online, and another instructor taught the lab part.
By far the most difficult and stressful semester in my years of college. I never missed a day and still couldnt understand micro as I wanted to. Always had pop quizzes when least expected. I just felt like he didnt care at all about our grades. Nice guy but for a micro profesor I really did not appreciate him.
summer is almost over and this class was the best ive taken at Eastfield. prof m teaches the material so well and he has tons of assignments and weekly extra credit. pay attention, take notes, and ask questions and you will do well. his exam is basically his review questions
This class was for sure one to remember. This professor expects you to be knowledgeable like him. He is rude and does not care about students. I would not take him if I was you. Too many pop quiz, very picky, over all horrible!
just finished his summer class. pay attention and listen because he will tell you what you need to know. complete his reviews and do the extra credit. i will be taking him for a&p this fall. i went to his office a few times and he helped me understand the material
his exams are based off of his review questions. he is funny, kind, and really cares. he is passionate and it shows. he expects you to study and learn the material because you will need to know it for your career. theres a quiz every week to make sure you are studying the online material
best. prof. ever. he is hilarious and gives extra credit. if you put in work, he will meet you halfway. responds to emails quickly and is always willing to explain things over and over again until you get it
this class is halfway over, but has been a great experience. he tells you what you need to know and walks though the material really well. it is very fast and hard to keep up, but if you ask for help he will do everything he can to help
If you have a busy schedule or a heavy work schedule DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. The professor is very knowledgeable but his expectations are VERY UNREALISTIC. Please look for another class just DON'T TAKE THIS ONE. I should've listened to the ratings and saved my money that I wasted for this class that I ended up dropping. So run just run.!!!!!!!!!!!
just took the final. it is a hybrid 8 week class so you have to expect that there is a lot of material to cover. it is literally twice as fast. his expectations are normal and he tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. just keep up with his schedule and ACTUALLY DO the EXTRA CREDIT. the people who drop or complain just dont do the work
i have tried to take A&P before and have struggled. Prof M is an amazing professor and he is so organized. I HAVE FINALLY PASSED A&P AND I GOT A B!!!! i highly recommend taking Prof. M. you will learn the material and he is so knowledgeable and cares
Had Prof M for A&P II this semester, and I got in his micro class for the spring! I recommend taking his classes. 8 week is tough so make sure you have time to study.
he is detailed but makes sure you know the info. had him last semester and this semesters patho course was really easy because he prepared us all so well. make sure to complete the review questions and do the extra credit
This was the best class I have ever taken. He tries to relate as much of the material to everyday life, current events, and pop culture. If you pay attention, you will learn all the material during the lecture. Just focus on learning the review questions and you will do fine. He also offered a lot of extra credit, but most people didn't do them.
Would not recommend taking this class online if youre a visual learner and if you have a busy work schedule.
if you study the powerpoints and review questions you will get an A. his class is pretty straightforward. he sends an email each week to remind you of what to do and gives a suggested schedule. also offers extra credit.
Professor M is a great teacher and he wants you to succeed, you just have to put in the work. if you pay attention in class and complete his review questions, the exams are easy. he will tell you what will be on the exam and what will not be on the exam. the switch to online was hard, but he recorded videos for us and answers emails very fast
The way he teaches A&P online can be very difficult if youre a visual learner. A lot of work load, would not recommend this class online.
First of all Profressor Malaer is a very tough grader , yes hes a nice guy , but the Exams are extremely hard, and they review questions dont help and for lab exams he does not always tell you whats going to be on the test he was left with 10 students after 20!!!!! Dont take him!!! Take professor Olivier
HE GIVES YOU EXTRA CREDIT, BUT IS NOT WORTH MUCH POINTS. EXAMS ARE HORRIBLE !!! HE DOES NOT CARE FOR HIS STUDENTS. EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW IT ALL!!! IF YOU WANT AN F THEN YEAH TAKE HIM GOOD LUCK!!!
I should of read all the bad reviews before taking him , I honestly thought he was going to be a great teacher but sadly I was wrong , I missed one day of lecture for being sick and he didnt care! Had to drop the class since he only was going deduct points off! He does not care for his students . Im an A student and never had to stress so much!
prof m is nice and cares; you just have to talk to him. i had to miss a class due to a mandatory training and told him at the beginning and he worked with me. if you ask him questions about the material or exam he always answers quickly. you get what you put into his class.
you don't have to do much for his online class; just answer review quetsions. if you study the qustions you will get an A on all of his exams. in other online classes, i had to watch a bunch of videos or do discussion boards, but he just wants you to read and answer questions
i had him for a&p 1 now i am in his a&p 2 class and will take his micro class this summer. i had some family and work situations arise because of coronavirus and was going to miss an exam, and i spoke with mr m and he helped me work though it and figure out a solution. he is probably the kindest professor ive had. you just have to communicate
Nice guy but wouldn't take him again, Mircobiology lab exams are hard and wished extra credit was worth more points and dislike having to take web cam exams felt very uncomfortable , he over does it !!!
had him for micro and a&p 1 and 2. i'm in nursing school now at twu and it is so much easier thanks to him. he really cares and prepares you for your future. if you are serious about going into healthcare, there is no better professor
Halfway though A&P 2 now. With the switch to online, prof M recorded videos to help us and has been responding to emails right away. he truly cares that we get all the help we need. just signed up for his summer micro course!
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. All test/assignments done on lockdown browser. Gives extra credit but finds any little reason not to accept. Counts off for anything especially if its free response. Feels like he doesnt care about his students. Wish I listened to the bad reviews! This class made micro more difficult than it already is. Save your time/money
This class is nothing but stress on top of stress. He is a really tough grader and doesnt even test over the reviews he gives. His favorite phrase is yall should already know this so Im not gonna go over it, but it will be on the test. All the good reviews are for A&P dont do his micro class! Hes smart but over complicates every test!
REALLY WISHED I DROPPED HIS CLASS SOONER. Ive never rated a professor before until I took him! Very literal when it comes to grading. Even if you do the work alongside the rubric he wont even look at it if its too long. Very abrupt, and tries to complicate everything. Seems like he enjoys making the subject harder on his students. Never again!
follow the directions and you'll do well. he covers the material well and is really easy to get into contact with. i emailed him my lab report multiple times and he kept giving me corrections and guidance.
i thougth this class would be hard online; but prof m has made it doable. he recorded videos of lecture and lab. over half the class just made an a or b on the lab exam.
one of the best professors i've ever had. i was struggling in the class and emailed him because i was worried about my grade, and he met with me multiple times to help me with the material. he gives enough extra credit to help if you did horrible on an exam. he responds to emails really fast. he cares and is willing to help if you ask for it
first time i rated a professor because he deserves it. he teaches the material so well and makes it easy to understand. if you study the lecture notes and listen to him, you will do well on the exams. in lab he goes around and makes sure each person can find everything on the models.
absolutely amazing. i thought i would fail this class bc it was changed to online, but mr m answered all my questions and covered the material well. i met with him a few times and he really cares and tried to help everyone. he gave extra credit and kept checking on everyone
I wasnt doing well in his microbiology class ,but I sticked threw it and the extra credit he gave me bumped up my grade , he is a tough grader , you just reallly have to ask questions and study a lot.
DO NOT TAKE HIS MICRO CLASS! It will be the most difficult class you'll ever take. His reviews are nothing like the actual exam. Take someone else, I regret not dropping his class before. He grades extremely hard on practicals.
take prof M if you want to learn and succeed in a program. he is patient and answers emails quickly. i have yet to have a professor like him and i wish there were more. if you work hard and ask for help, he will be right there with you. his class isn't an easy A, but will prepare you. I aced my hesi and will start nursing school in the fall.
mr m had videos for us to watch, and if you study his review questions you will do well on the exam. he gave us lots of extra credit and kept in mind that our lives were stressful now. if you communicate with him he is very understanding but you can't wait until its too late. best choice ever.
Professor Malaer was a pretty great professor. We had to switch to online due to COVID and he really worked to help it go seamlessly. The material is a lot and you must study and complete assignments. Doing all of his extra credit helped me earn my A. Getting the text book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
pay attention, read his notes, complete his reviews, and do all the extra credit and you'll get an A. he explains the material well, and answers emails quickly and with lots of details and examples. best prof ever. This was my 2nd time taking micro and im glad i choose prof m
just started this summer class and i already love it. mr m is very clear, responds quickly (sometimes in minutes!), and grades fair. we already have tons of extra credit and he gives great feedback on the lab workbooks and assignments
i was worried because this was an online class but prof m is amazing. literally the best prof i have ever had. he answers emails quickly, explains material well, and offers lots of extra credit.
DO NOT TAKE PROFESSOR M! He is the worst professor i even took, don't know why people talk highly of him. His test and lab homework never match to study from. IF you want extra credit prepare to do almost 50 questions for 2 points. He is a student as well so he doesn't know how to each or help his students. I'm truly disappointed.
great professor. he really cares and if you ask for help he responds quickly. complete the review questions and you will get an easy A. the extra credit is a lot of work, but it is the review for the exam so its worth it.
i was scared to take online mico, but prof m was the best! he is amazing and truly helpful. he gives lots of extra credit and he posted the class averages and almost everyone got an A or B on all exams. study the review questions and email him if you have questions and you will do well.
i dont think there coudl be a better a&p professor. mr m was the best teacher i ever had. he was organized and sent an email for each unit, and then answered questions lighting fast. study the review questions and the lab lists and you will get an a.
this semster has gone better than i thougth it would. prof malaer is very organized and clear. i have had many questions on using the lab kit and doing experiments at home and he has online office hours and has been so helpful. follow his study guides and you will get an a
im so glad i took this class as a hybrid with on campus labs. prof malaer is amazing and teachings the material well. follow his study guides and ask questions and you will get an A.
the review questions are long but help break down the material and covers exactly what is on the exam. prof m tells you exactly what you need to know for each exam so just study what he says
I thought I would really struggle with the course because it was online, but mr m gave us so many different resources to study. The review questions really helped focus on the important material and matched the tests. Lots of opportunities to earn extra credit as well.
i have taken many online courses before COVID, but this was the best and most organized course i have ever taken. perfect organization, clear due dates, and lots of resources to use to study. extra credit review questions really helped as well
I chose Mr. Malaer because of the reviews I saw on this page. If you can, avoid taking him and take someone else. He took off 30 points for a student missing school bc of COVID. He was impersonal, and I felt too nervous to ask questions. I got an A bc of doing the extra credit. He laughed at us and my anxiety was through the roof. WARNED YOU!
I got COVID in the middle of the semester and prof m was amazing. he did my experiments and sent me pictures so i could still study and turn in the lab reports. the labs i went to, he kept the environment fun and helped us do the experiments. highly recommend him! i didn't lose any points for my absences due to covid
just finished his wintermester course and prof. m is amazing. he gave so many resources to help study and his videos are helpful. he gave extra credit to help any bad exams. if you need help he is always willing to answer questions. i honestly don't understand why people would rate him low, best professor ive ever had.
mr m is one of the best professors ive ever had. he is very organized, sends lots of detailed emails of instructions, and sends reminders. he offers extra credit and if you do it you will ace the exams. he was also incredible when the winter storm knocked out power and kept in contact and extended deadlines
just finished a&p with prof malaer and he was great. if follow the reviews and study guides he post you will get an A. he sends reminders and answers emails quickly. taking him for a&P ii now and it is the same.
dr m was the best professor i had during covid online courses and i am excited to take his summer micro class. he answers emails quickly and detailed and gives lots of extra credit. complete his study guides and you will do fine
Dr M was one of the best professors Ive had. This was my second time taking microbiology. He is organized, sent tons of reminder emails, posted reviews and what to study. Follow his directions and complete the reviews and you will get an A
Information/education is interesting Mastery A&P are funce to do. On top of his emails/reminds of deadlines. Overwhelming to worry about your grade 24/7 so it makes to class frustrating/annoying to do course work most of the time. Crazy LONG EXTRA CREDIT youll be on 1 extra credit doc. for 3-4 hrs&he will give you 2-6 points for 70 questions..
Took the 8 week course so there was a lot to learn in a short amount of time. Dr. M sent lots of reminders and answered questions really fast. Extra credit was bascially a complete study guide so it helps. Probably a lot easier when the course is an entire semester.
Dr. Malaer is one of the best science professors that I have ever had! He is really straight forward and you definitely will have a hard time if you don't study at the power points and pay attention in lab. He is really a great lecturer and has tons of extra credit opportunities available so take advantage of ALL OF IT!! I def would recommend him!
I am SO GLAD that classes are back to normal. Dr. M is absolutely amazing. He makes the lectures so interesting with lots of activities and games. Do the extra credit even though it is a lot of work! I have over a 100 in the class right due to doing all of the extra credit. He responds quickly and is the best professor ever.
dr m was the best professor ive ever had. he made the class fun although there was a ton of material to cover. he asked the class for feedback and if we liked his activities and he listened to us. you will be luck to take his class!
Professor Malaer is a great professor and he is caring. However, the class itself is hard and he does give extra credit but if you don't make at least 60 and above in all your lecture and lab exams, it'll be hard to pass the class.
Professor Malaer is amazing and his lecture is great but it's heavy. There are 4 lecture exams, 3 lab exams, and 1 lab report. He does give a lot of extra credits but it doesn't help as much. The material is heavy and you really have to study to pass this class.
Professor Malaer is an amazing teacher. Take him if you actually want to learn. If you're looking at letter grade only, he is not the one for you. He is very clear when he lectures and has the ability to make difficult subjects easy to understand. He is very organized with his course and is available when needed. Best teacher ever.
If you're looking to get into a career in healthcare, Professor Malaer is the one! I took him for AP 1 & 2 and Micro and got into nursing school and about to graduate. He remains much fav teacher. If you do the work, pay attention, and have a desire to learn he will give the tools you need to succeed! He is a gem, I would take him again in a beat
Micro with Professor Malaer has been one of my fav courses. He is hilarious and makes class fun! There is a lab report, he is strict with APA format but if you're going into healthcare I highly advise you master it with him! After his course all papers were a breeze for me. He is tough but so is nursing school so if you cant handle his class...
i chose this professor because i read here that the class was good and that he'd be really helpful yet my experience has been awful. im failing this class and trust me i have never failed a class before, ever. the professor makes it so hard to pass especially if youre a student with responsibilities and bills. i dont recommend this class for any1.
Dr. M is an amazing person, however his class was very hard. His grading and tests were unreasonably tough. Get ready to make your own study guide, even if it is wrong. Lab tests were HARD, get ready to write an essay for each question in limited time and if you do not answer the way he wants, you fail.
Professor Joseph is one of the best. pay attention in class, read lecture PowerPoint. Finally pay attention on Lab, anything he put down on the board try to know them. He is a caring Professor. You will not regret taking his course
Dr. M is the best professor if you are serious about going into healthcare. Hands down the only reason I succeeded is because he prepared me so well and was a great resource to talk to about programs, transferring, time management, and study tips. If you put in the work, you will succeed.
i wish i could have taken dr. m for A&P2 but he isn't teaching it right now. follow his directions, complete the review questions, study exactly what he tells you and you will get an A.
Dr M is really straightforward and he makes his class really fun. the reviews tells you exactly what you need to know and what to study. i just wish i had more time but due to working it was hard to keep up with the summer pace. he answers emails quickly and gives extra credit.
*online class*. Study guides to MANY questions up to 64 per chapter. If you use his powerpoints 4 study guide he says you wont pass the test. he needs an overall unit review as a study guide. LOST on how 2 study important physiology. This professor has 1 video on a chapter out of 4 to condense the material. get a tutor! only way to get an A.
Very interesting and cool professor. Very personable and tries to answer any and all questions from his students when he can. Very tough grader and his tests are very hard but the class was enjoyable and I would take a class from him again.
The class is challenging, but Professor Malaer provides useful tools to succeed, like detailed study guides. Engaging with the content and using resources like unstuck ai can make a big difference in this course.
His class is so weird... Im taking him for epidemiology and he does not give access to review quizzes because hes scared we will put it in a quizlet. Then he says that the quizzes show what the exam will be like... I cant review the questions I got wrong to see what I need for the exam. Cant edit or delete discussion post. Hes just doing too much.
Currently taking him for epidemiology, his lectures are all over the place and confusing. He offers little to no help if you aren't doing well and likes to provide unrelated resources to what he's testing on more than providing testing material. He spends more time editing his videos than he does aligning the learning objectives to the content.
