Great professor. Very helpful..explains topics thoroughly and makes funny jokes occasionally.

Great professor who uses plenty of examples to make the material interesting. Dr. Mayo doesn't give much work outside the tests, so you won't be overloaded with extra stuff to do. Not the easiest, but definitely the best psyc professor at Gordon.

Awesome guy! He is more than willing to help you pass. He offers lots of extra credit and is easy to talk to when you have questions. Always do your study guides because they are almost the same as the test. He enjoys you asking questions and I really understood things better when I went by his office. He is hard, but good! Worht your money!

Be prepared to study a lot of material, but he gives you the pre-printed outlines with room to write notes. Study your outlines and KNOW the syllabus and you will do well. I pulled an A after a D on the first test. Interesting material and approach to human growth and development.

LIke being taught by Paul Reiser and Jerry Seinfeld. Great, hard class. I worked very hard, and was expecting a B. But, hr gave me an A. It's the first time in a long time I felt like I earned it. And it was the only class in which I didn't fall asleep. Great teacher. Blunt, so don't take him personally. Read, and be in class. on time!

I LOVED this class and this professor! Very interesting! Teaches in a way that's easy to understand. Helps when asked.I got an A just by studying the book and notes. Highly recommended!

Dr. Mayo is a good teacher. I recommend taking him if you are a Psych major. He is very dedicated to helping you understand the subject.

He is an awesome teacher. The power points are borng but he makes you laugh throughout the class. uses really good examples. helps if you need it. DO THE STUDY GUIDE! READ THE BOOK! He's test are kind of tough but if you do the study guide and read your notes you should do good. I got a "B" on all the test, "A" on the final and b in the class.

Dr. Mayo tells you everything he expects on the very first day. After he passed out the first test, he told us that if we'd failed it we should just go ahead and drop the class. It's not rocket science. Read the book, listen, take notes, and you'll be fine. He makes jokes and tells stories as examples. I made an A on the final and a B in the class.

Probably one of the best spoken teachers at Gordon. He is an excellent teacher, but his tests are somewhat difficult. If you study, you wull like him.

His examples are awesome. He's extremely helpful and willing to explain things if you don't understand. His bigest pet peeve is tardiness. If you show up after he's started his lecture, he won't let you in. Just come to class and take notes and you'll be fine.

Dr. Mayo is a great teacher. His notes are good and will be on the test. He doesnt care if you dont come to class but if you fail the first test you might want to just drop the class. But he gives great examples and dont ever come to his class late because he will not let you in.

GREAT TEACHER!!! His class is a challenge but if you study, take good notes, and go to class you will pass. If you don't go to class you will fail. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!!! It will help you out a lot at the end of the semester. I would highly recommend taking him, just be ready to work! I made an A.

great pro. gives clear notes in form of powerpoint BUT... he test from the examples he gives so be sure to listen to them and find a way to apply them to another situations like the one he is giving. and also learn all of the theories from the begging!!! these r two mistakes i made and it cost me my grade! i plan to retake w/ him

If you do not have good study habbits then dont take him, but he is an AWESOME teahcer and he make sure everyone understand....WRITE ALL HIS EXAMPLES!!! there all on his test, very forward and dircet. Pass or Fail, its all up to you because he does his part.

I really enjoyed Dr. Mayo's Human Growth and Development class. He always made class very interesting and often told funny stories that kept our attention. Dr. Mayo teaches from Powerpoints and his tests are fairly easy if you study minimally. The book is NOT really necessary either. I would strongly advise someone to take PSYC 2103 with Dr. Mayo!

This professor is great! He is very helpful and uses great examples. He will be highly energetic and it forces you to be interested in the most boring things. Tests are easy if you do the study guide. DON'T BE LATE. You will not be allowed in. Attendance isn't required, but you need to go to pass the class. Don't sleep, he'll call you out for it.

Dr. Mayo is great!! He makes jokes a lot to keep your attention and encourages class discussion. He will answer any legitimate questions during class and will help after class as well. He does however, expect you to learn!! Read the syllabus. He will revert you to that if you have questions about the ONE project. The tests are easy if you study. =}

Dr. Mayo is the best professor I have ever had in college. He expects you to be present in class, both physically and mentally. If you attend and write down his examples, you should do very well on his tests. He gives you a packet of his ppts and tells you what to study. The one project he gives is easy. Dr. Mayo is AWESOME! We only had 4 tests and a project that was due @ the end of the semester. He expects you to act like an adult. He lays the rules out at the beginning of the semester. If you break them that is on you! We NEVER had a quiz or extra credit. I came out with a B

Under achievers and over achievers need not apply. He is a very good, interesting teacher. However, he wants it how he wants it, no more, no less, no exceptions, no apology. Follow his instruction exactly, study, be on time, and participate you should do well, its up to you.

He is a good teacher. You have 14 quizzes and he drops your lowest 4. Show up and don't be late and dont yawn. And you will do great.

I am currently in Dr. Mayo's Class. I love it!! He is so interested in what he teaches! He gives 4 test, one easy project and a final! He does not take attendance, and you can miss class whenever as long as you know someone to get the notes from! His test are a little hard but I have yet to fail one and I'm just an avaerage student!

Poster below me is insane! Mayo is awesome! All of his classes are fresh and interesting, he makes even the most boring material in his course kind of interesting. Just be respectful, don't expect him to make any exceptions for you, and READ THE ASSIGNMENTS!

His test are straight from your notes and study guide. However, they are over 5 chapters. I think his class is easy if you study and read but I know thar alot of my classmates are failing so he started giving quizzes and the questions are the same ones in the study guide.

Takes being on time to class too far. Late policy a little ridiculous. Some leniency in that respect is needed; however, lecture is enjoyable and interesting. Just never be LATE or you might as well not even go.

I found Dr. Mayo to be a wonderful proffesor. He has a way of lecturing that is entertaining and interesting on the subject matter. He is extremely fair and his policies are pretty simple, show up on time, study, and do your project and you should have NO problems in this class. Yes he does have a late policy but, and I LOVED that he did!

He is the best teacher at Gordon. EVERY professor should teach like him. I have taken 2 of his classes and I am sad to leave. Study, thats it! He SPELLS it out for you! If you don't get it, that is your fault.

If you are a slacker, this is not the class for you. Gave us 10 quizes, 3 tests, a project (that you have all semester to complete) and then the final. Doesn't tolerate any nonesense.People who complain about him tend to be the very ones who miss alot of class, can't follow instruction, and don't put forth the proper effort. Dr. Mayo is a good guy!

Great professor! However DO NOT: come late, yawn, sleep, or use your cell phone. He keeps you very interested if psychology is a subject you like. TAKE HIM!

Amazing, helpful professor that knows what he is talking about. He wrote the textbook & study guide used for the class. He gives 10 unannounced quizzes and drops your two lowest. He gives 3 unit tests & 1 comprehensive final. The Life-Narrative Journal due at the end of the semester is fun and easy. Go to class on time and read the book.

Very easy if you do do the work in his study guides, and attend class. He's a fun person, and I loved his teaching style. However, he can be a bit blunt and can come across as rude, but I think it's because he expects the best out of his students, and I respect that.

Dr. Mayo is a great professor. Spastic and Hilarious, the guy is all over the place. Really keeps your attention. He teaches by power-point, straight from his textbook. print the slides out before class and do the study guide that comes with text... will take him again if possible

Took this as a summer class and I DO NOT recommend as a summer class. Very interesting teacher learned a lot BUT every question on test is comprehensive. not only knowing the terms but understanding the concepts. This was hard for me! Final was like the SAT!

I took his honor class which differs from the regular psych class. This was the best decision. Dr. Mayo is smart and his life experiences really add to the class. He goes by the book (because he wrote the book). We had great discussions, but he said he did not do those in the regular class. You do not have be in the honors program so take it!

Really great teacher. Gives pop quizzes here and there - but students practically have answers to them in the textbook and can just study from that. I had him for Human Growth and Applied really great teacher, I cannot express that enough.

I took Psy. 101 from Dr. Mayo in 1993 and he one of the reasons I just became Dr. .... He is the best professor you will take. Dr. Mayo was my very first professor and the single most influential educator to have ever touched my life. Many years of people after me will benefit from Dr. Mayo's kind heart, brilliant mind, and authentic humanity.

Mayo is a fair teacher. He gives you a clear map on how to pass his class. You honestly don't have to work hard for the grade. He gives extra credit at the end of the semester and drops quiz grades. Just make sure you're on time to his class (5 minutes early) because he doesn't hesitate to kick anyone out.

Dr. Mayo is one of the best teachers I have ever had! He is extremely organized, energetic, and you can tell that he knows what he's doing. His class is not set up for anyone to fail, and the book is very easy to follow. (He wrote it) His lectures are not boring, and you will be glad that you took him!
