it was a 600 person class so no one went- online tests and essays let you do it in groups. if you need some extra credits- take it for sure- but dont go after the 1st week- its a waste of your time.

Only good for an easy A. No need to attend class after the first day. All assignments and tests are online and open book.

Class meant to introduce students to world of Pyschology.Possible easiness is attempt to lure you into liking psych, but nice guy, emails back promptly. Powerpoints in class straight from book, online tests have 1-2 in class questions.

Take this class for your GenEd if you can. It is easy, you just have to make sure you do ALL of the tests online and CPR assigments. They might be changing textbooks, but overall the subject is easy!!

Prof. Melcher is so sweet and helpful. Do your tests online at home, using your book! I had my roommate find the answers while I took it, and we'd switch off. The CPR assigments are alittle harder. Great guy, good class.

Melcher is a good prof. but the lecture is so stupid and pointless. Questions on his tests do not come from the lecture, so don't even bother going. CPR assignments are tough, but do-able. I found taking online tests, even with your book and a friend, were still hard...<weird questions>

dr. melcher is awesome. i don't even go to the class and i'm still getting an A. all the power point slides are online, most tests are online, and the in class tests you can use your book. also if you complain about your grade, he will raise it for you. this guy's awesome

He's a great teacher. He knows what he's talking about. Make sure you pay attention in class and make sure you do the readings. He's a very helpful professor. I recomend taking this class, but it won't be a class you get an easy A in.

He is one of the sweetest professors ever. He makes accomodations when students are having difficulty, and is always willing to take time out of his day to help you. Pretty easy work load, and on-line test are easy. I suggest taking him for this class

I've gone to class twice and I'm getting an A. The tests are open book, and most are online. A few tedious online writing assignments, but overall the class is easy and interesting. Melcher is friendly and very helpful. I'd recommend this class to anyone who has the slightest interest in psychology.

I went to class three times total all semester and got an A. if you don't like doing work (which most of us don't) take this class. Also take the online surveys multiple times to get multiple points.

Great prof. He responds ASAP to your emails and tries to make the lectures fun. Protolipac is hard to listen to and Melcher is easy. Keep track of all the deadlines and you should have no problem, and if you read the chapters its an easy class online writings a little tough sometimes

A deffinite slack off class. A few writting assignments which are kind of hard, but not too hard. The tests are kinna hard, just make sure to read. I LOVE Melcher! He was so helpful. He helped my grade go from a "D" to an "A" in a matter of a couple weeks. Sure the lectures were a little boring, but it's gotta be pretty hard to make everyday exciting when there's 300 kids in a class. He really tries though, and you can tell that he wants his students to do well. A very happy and bubbly guy.

He enjoys teaching the material, so it makes you fairly interested. His classes are straight forward and overall very easy. He is also a nice guy as well.

this dude is WAY creepy, he has a ****ache... but the class is really easy, its all online! i quit going half-way through and still managed 108% Protolipac co-teaches this class and is less creepy but other than that i would DEF reccommend this class as a gen-ed

Very nice professor. Lectures can get boring and tests can be a little difficult. All the notes are online and so are the tests. Fair and reasonable grader, and does curve.

The online class is hard. Dr. Melcher is really helpful when you email with questions, but his assignments take a lot of time to do and the instructions are often hard to understand. The tests are also kind of hard, even though you can use your book. A lot of the questions were unclear.

Take this class. You never have to attend and you get a lot of ex cred. opportunities. You never have to study to do well either as everything is online and open book and all the answers can be found easily. This class is joke but probably the easiest A you can get in college.

If you attend the class when there is a test, and know what to do for the online homework. you should do fine. And you get to use the books and notes on the tests. and there isnt a final yay. Take him its easy!

Get the book, if you take his class and read each chapter you won't have any problems on the test. If you print his ppt b4 class and take notes with that you are guaranteed an A. Highly recommend Melcher is one of the best teachers I have ever had!!! He is always willing to help with any problem you might have.

Was an ok class....basiclly just power points and notes. No homework. One quiz every Monday about the chapter that was learned the week before. Nice teacher though.

I took Psychology 115 online with Melcher and found it to be a good experience. You need to stay organized but once you get the schedule down, the course is very fun and you learn a lot. The CPR assignments really let you apply and anonymously intereact with other students and Melcher is a very kind and fair teacher. I would recommend this class

This class was taught online and it was super easy. There was a quiz over every chapter, but they were only 10 questions and we were given 3 attempts, with averaged score recorded. Most of the time I got 100% on the first attempt. There is a lit. review required, but that is easy too- I got 96% on mine and only spent 2 hours writing it!

I took this class online, in the begining it was a bit rocky, but once you got ahold of things the class was fun and super easy if you stay caught up.

Bery nice teacher; huge class with 2 alternating professors (Melcher and Bodvarson). He clearly enjoys what he does and it shows. He is also very nice and helpful. Attendance, weekly quizes and final taken by clicker system. Also CPY assignments (though mine were unfairly graded so I always hade to email one of the professors to fix it).

One of the best professors I have had! The class is very easy. It was an auditorium class and you need a clicker. He taught from power point and there is a 36 point quizz every monday, with 12 multiple choice questions so each question is worth a lot. Also a few writing assignments that are easy if you get them done on time. I recomend this class!

Although I took this course online my experience with Prof. Melcher was a great one he was very helpful when I had any questions through e-mail and always responded promptly. I really enjoyed this class but since it was online it required some effort.

Just go to class and take notes. Study your notes, the review questions at the end of chapters, and the extra poll questions taken throughout the week. the final is made up of the questions an all the prior tests so just study those. easy A

This dude is one of the most helpful and caring professors I've had at SCSU. He always helps his students out when they need it. For example, I was a day late for doing a quiz and I emailed him explaining my situation and he gave me a two day extension. He knows his stuff and his class is easy yet you learn a lot. Take him, one of my fav profs.

This guy is so nice and helpful. His class is fairly easy yet you learn a TON. He's totally willing to help his students in any way he can. He's really caring and understanding. One of my favorite profs at SCSU.

Sometimes it's hard to make it through a single semester with the same professor. Dr. Melcher is not one of them. I've had him for 4 classes (115, 202, 330, and 435). Simply put- take every class you can with him.

Awesome teacher, awesome class. I currently have him for psych 115 online (required coure), and he's very clear about what he needs done and deadlines. There were 2 incidences where I missed assignments by accident he noticed right away and still let me do them. Also quizzes easy as long as you read chapter well.

I've had him twice now: online and on campus, and he's the only teacher I've actually come to like at SCSU. He tries to make the class fun, and there are plenty of assignments to keep your grade up. His tests are easy, and he has interesting lectures. I would definitely recommend him.

I took this class online and it was super easy! Every week u have a ch. to take a quiz on and u don't even need to read the book to get a good grade, as long as u do the online exercises that are also assigned every week (super easy points) you'll do just fine! He's super understanding if u miss a deadline too and always answers emails quickly!

For your own good, I would not listen to the negative review below. His courses have a lot of work but he is SO helpful! He returns emails quickly and is willing to meet in person to help you until you understand the material completely. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND DR. MELCHER! One of my favorite professors ever!

I took him for cognitive online. I have a really hard time with science like subjects (aka cog psychology) but he was absolutely understanding, easy to work with, and would always respond to my e-mails (even if I sent a few in one day) punctually and with good humor. Ignore bad reviews, he's a fabulous online professor.

Very good professor, definitely knows his subject well. Quizzes are pretty easy as long as you show up and pay attention. About 10% of your grade is decided just from going to class.

If you pay attention in class you should pass it fairly well. Attendance is not mandatory but you should go, it helps a lot, and they even give you answers for the quizzes they have once every week. Study past quizzes, all your answers are there.

I took PSY 115 online and it was a breeze! There was a chapter to read every week and a quiz on D2L. There were also other assignments about every other week or so including online discussions and essays. The professor was very helpful and replied to emails quickly. He truly cares about his students and their performances!

His online class was good. 3 chances to take quizzes & uses best score, have to complete a certain number of online labs but you get to pick and choose which ones. A pre-test and post-test at beginning & end of semester & you get a bonus for doing better on the post-test. I'd recommend this if you need to fill more of your PSY foundations courses.

Melcher is an incredibly smart prof who really has a passion for what he's doing and it shows. That being said, his assignments sometimes were difficult to follow, but he is quick to give clarification. He's incredibly easy to work with and responds quickly to emails. His class was difficult and challenging, but he made it easy to handle.

Professor Melcher is one of my favorite professors at SCSU. I took him my freshmen year for PSY 115 and also my junior year for PSY 250. He is an excellent professor and he sets you up to succeed.

If you are interested in becoming a Psychology major I would recommend taking this class with Melcher. The class I took was only once a week for 50 mins. Some weeks we would not have class at all and the days we did have class we got out early. Check D2L often for this class and do the homework and it is an easy A.

I took PSY250 online this semester and I loved it. There were quizzes every Sunday and 1-2 CogLabs every weekend, along with a couple discussion posts and a final project. It was great to be able to apply what we were learning in the readings along with connecting them to the CogLabs. Overall, a solid class and Dr. Melcher is a solid professor.

He was very nice in class and was an interesting professor. I liked going to his class.

Assignments are hard, The professor is understanding if you have questions on the assignments, and it is a self-paced class. On one of the assignments he literally said " this assignment is made more difficult (though perhaps not impossible." So, yeah not impossible but pretty difficult. I probably won't be getting an A.

Professor Melcher has been very helpful with navigating what needs to be completed for the class. He is a tough grader for the homeworks/assigments, but he does work with you to offer extra credit. Organization of the online class is very poor so be sure to check D2L and email to see what needs to be all completed weekly.

Really enjoyed him as a professor! His TA's grade for him but he is willing to look at the assignment himself if you feel something was graded unfairly. Attendance is easy, just show up or take the online quizzes that are embedded in the lecture videos and you'll gain points. He offers lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Highly recommend!

Melcher was one of my favorite professors I've had. I think that most of the classes he teaches are easy to pass. However, I feel like that allows for students to stress less about grades in the course, and more about what he's teaching. Very cool and rather communicative compared to other professors as well. Highly recommend.

The only reason i won't take him again is because his lectures are monotonous and I couldn't focus. Otherwise, he is so amazing. Fina presentation he worked with the students so they felt comfortable presenting over zoom. the textbook and the assignments are easy and fun to do.

Professor Melcher's PSY119 class is easy-going yet informative. The lectures and assignments are manageable, and his communication with students is great. unstuckstudy proved helpful for studying.

Probably my easiest class of the semester, it was super laid back and not a lot of hard work. Usually every week consisted of an inquisitive module, a zaps lab, a short reading, and a 10 question open book quiz. As long as you do the work it is very hard to fail.

This professor is one of my favorite at SCSU. He is very kind and knows what he is doing. He cares about each student and wants the best for each of them. I have had two classes of his and gotten A's both times.

Dr. Melcher is a highly dedicated professor who sincerely cares about his students' success in the course and is prompt in responding to questions. Students should be prepared for extensive reading and the application of critical thinking skills. Having some prior knowledge of statistics will be beneficial in mastering the material.

Maybe my favorite teacher I've had, extremely kind and lenient and restored my faith in the education system.
