Professor Miller seems like a really great person, but I did not like this class at all. It was very lecture heavy and boring. He made all of our essays group projects which was really frustrating and annoying. People would ask questions in class and he did not really answer them clearly. My friends in other CWV classes liked their professors.
The class was very lecture-heavy and involved a lot of group projects.
He is a very rude professor. I missed two classes because of covid and he messaged me saying that covid is not an excuse because it is not contagious. I have never had a professor talk to me like this. Would never want to be in one of his classes again! shake my head!!!!!!
Needs a life.
Gah the lecture . . . Professor Miller said he believed in heaven but never realized his class was hell. Like literal hell.
Boring and lots of assignments.
This is the worst professor ever. He has no sympathy, and he class acts like a bad version of a lecture hall. He is passive-aggressive when other students have other biases about CWV, even though ht states that he is open-minded. Would never recommend to my worst enemy.
We just started but it's clear this self-exalted expert wants us to kiss his ring and bow to his powers. Sorta cringe-fest.
He expressed his strange and weird sense of humor often. Talked a lot about his personal opinions and his life. Definitely an interesting professor. Lots of quizzes and long lectures. Would not take his class again!
It seems that anyone can be an expert now. I tried really hard to like my professors but professor miller made that hard. Alot of his teaching is unclear and he likes to talk politics. I hated group work.
Professor Miller seems like he could care less about his students and the fact that we are all humans dealing with our own issues outside of school. I feel that he looked down to me when I went to an office hour and made me feel that everything I was saying was an excuse. participation is ridiculous don't even bring a computer to his class.
Worst class ever in my 2 years at GCU. Professor made the class about his opinions and politics. He should not be the worldview dean.
He lectures for much longer than is necessary, going on side tangents and telling stories/jokes that nobody cares about. He is on a bit of a power trip, and is a stickler for participation even in the case of vacation, personal stuff, or sickness even though his class is a 101.
Horrible professor. The teaching style is lecture-heavy and is constantly on side tangents. He's on a power trip, he doesn't view his students as people, has no empathy, or understanding. Just show up and do your work and you'll be fine but enjoy your heavy lectures on HIS opinions and not much else. He is not open-minded, he is my worst enemy.
Class was mostly boring. The professor prefers lecture over discussion, and he primarily teaches by reading his powerpoint to us. Sometimes he comes across condescending and consistently refused to listen to our views. He also seemed to be rather close minded on political and LGB issues. Find another professor.
Professor Miller was descent. Not the best not the worst. Very lecture heavy. But...I would say that his ideas reflect Christianity. This is a Theology class. I wouldn't say that his views are bad but if you don't identify with Christianity you might be offended. That being said I would take him again if I had too.
He is very lecture-heavy and goes to the very last second of class, he goes off on random tangents that have nothing to do with the class. I think there is a lot of unnecessary information and even though he gives you notes a lot of the stuff you'll see on the quiz is barely from the notes and mostly from the lectures.
Professor Miller was a really nice guy but he turned CWV, what should be an easy A into a pain of a course to get through with quite a few writing assignments and he had really boring lectures that turned the class into an 80 minute snooze fest.
I can't even begin to state how awful of a teacher this man is. Wants students to bow to him. Very political but just regurgitates what he saw on some crazy post. To show why other worldviews are bad he pulls up fringe groups of those views instead of actual points. Proudly argues w science teachers bc he saw a YT video on a topic. Should be fired.
He has helped us see how our worldview can help us in life and how we vote and how we read books. Class has a lot of videos he has professionally recorded that show his expert knowledge. We learn a lot each class and you will know how to use your worldview outside of class.
MAGA proud and he is really good at helping us know the worldview stuff for the big election. He destroyed the liberal Darwin crap about creation, so that's good for our school.
Best professor at GCU. He's brilliant and innovative and adds a lot of extras to the class with his published work and media. He helps us see how to live for Christ in our ever-darkening world. This call equips believers to bold witnesses.
Get to know him outside of class and not just inside, he's a good guy
He demands a lot from students because he's an expert on lots of topics and speaks about them in class. Lots of group work. He's supposedly a world known scholar and it shows with his lectures. Go to class and listen and you will do well. Be prepared to be amazed.
Professor Miller is an exceptional teacher and scholar of religion. He has mastered every topic that he covered and is a true light in our world. He lectures a lot but he incorporates innovative videos and discussion prompts to make our class interesting and engaging. I never want class to end!!
A godly man who helps us know real theology and real Bible and real ways to fight against the ungodly wokeism of the day. He's a hero without a cape. Lots of tests! Lots of assignments! But he's worth it. Take him and be amazed. Don't miss class.
Professor Dr Miller is outstanding. he inspires and informs us, he is the best professor at GCU. He's a renowned scholar who also leads all of GCU's worldview curriculum. It' obvious that he has two doctorates and that he's written books. If you take him, be sure to see his videos and ask for help on the big paper!!
Professor Miller is the one professor in the theology department who should teach all bible and theology classes. He's a generational leader and scholar. I don't want our worldview class to end. Take time to read his substack and watch his videos! Our whole class loves him. You can get an A if you take notes and follow his teachings.
Repetitive class period. He talks for the whole hour and 45 minutes. Attendance mandatory. Does not give grace on anything, if you miss class but still do the work he still gives you a 0 for the assignment even if you turned it in. Only way you get dismissed is if you have a doctors note. Did not learn learn, fell asleep in his class 24/7.
Do not take this class.
Professor Miller is probably the only professor at GCU who could teach at the best universities in the world. He's truly an exceptional scholar and teacher. I love his innovative, collaborative, and brilliant approach. His lectures are summaries of his many areas of expertise. Lots of work, but he's worth it.
I fell privileged to have had Dr Miller this semester. He's brilliant, scholarly, and can literally teach any topic. He helped me understand politics, progressivism, and secular humanism in ways h can understand. He lectures the whole class but it's excellent. Tests are hard but he helps with prep. Take him for everything.
Professor Dr. Miller is an exceptional educator and scholar whose contributions to the field of worldview studies are widely recognized. Holding two doctorates, Dr. Miller's lectures are nothing short of captivating; he masterfully blends rigorous scholarship with engaging storytelling and humor, making complex concepts accessible and relatable.
I am convinced that any review of Professor Miller with a five is him on his burner account. This class is SO incredibly boring. Every class you will sit there for an hour and a half and listen to him yap. Notes are fill in the blank packets - Approach oppresses a worldview upon you - Some material can't be academically backed.
if you want to be the best you have to take the best. Take Miller and you'll know your with the best. If you want to slack and just get a grade then take one of the easy professors. Miller is a serious thinker and a model for how intellectuals should compose themselves.
Miller seems like he is not such a bad guy, however when it comes to Grading and his test they're just impossible. He will have many questions on a test that were never covered in class, nor ever recapped. Not taking away from his intelligence, but he does not give grace for a class about the Christian worldview he does not forgive or be lenient.
This is a hard class. You have to show up to lectures, the assignments are extremely difficult, and the quizzes have questions that were never discussed. Miller doesn't give grace for missed assignments, he is a very tough grader, but the class topics are interesting. Miller is very skilled in theology but also expects you to be.
Professor Dr Miller is a world famous expert on worldview and is an expert across most domains. He will wow you with his brilliance and classroom presence. All other theology professors at GCU should learn from the giant among them.
Professor J.R. Miller, a distinguished scholar with two esteemed doctorates, is a universally recognized leader in the fields of worldview, philosophy, and cultural apologetics. His profound insights and impactful work have made a significant contribution to intellectual discourse and the Christian faith. The class was a masterclass.
Don't know what all the b****ing and moaning is about. This class is very easy if you show up and pay even the slightest bit of attention. Dr. Miller also makes very engaging slides and lectures are cohesive. Please remember that this is a CHRISTIAN worldview class so you will obviously be learning about things from the CHRISTIAN perspective.
By far the most intellectually challenging course I've taken. Dr. Miller has the ability to wow you with his lectures (because he is a legit genius), but also help you know how to apply worldview to the marxist and secular errors believers face. I love the videos he shows. You will work for an A but it's worth it.
Just a brilliant scholar worthy of all the awards and recognition he's getting. His tech creativity was off the charts. I don't think there is a topic he can't teach on. You must go to class for participation and the tests can be tricky because he likes using philosophy. He's maybe the smartest man in the whole state.
Professor Dr Miller is a world class warrior for God. He masters each topic, rouses the class with charisma and charm, and exposes the errors of liberalism and the fanatical left. Study for his quizzes because some questions are tricky. Take papers seriously as he is a top scholar.
He is clearly the best professor in the theology department and should teach bible classes especially New Testament because we need a teacher who believes the Bible and is not woke. Dr. Miller does have to dr degrees and is a scholarly prophet. I learned a lot by reading his website and watching his videos. Take him for the best.
Dr. Prof Joseph Miller was my best academic experience at GCU. He's an international scholar, innovating in his approach, and is equipped to help students see the fake lies of satanic socialism and bad worldviews. He incorporated AI into his teaching and knows how to help you thrive in class. His tests are thorough but he is an inspiring teacher.
Prof. Joseph R. Miller (two doctorates) is a renowned theologian, philosopher, & bible scholar. His published writings are internationally acclaimed & his website uses a lot of what you can expect in class: innovation, intellectual engagement, & uncanny expertise. His lectures stimulate & his grading is fair. It's a privilege to be in his class.
Dr. Miller is a distinguished scholar (2 doctorates) AND a universally recognized leader in the fields of worldview, philosophy, and incarnation apologetics. If you don't desire the best, then don't take the best. He's the best and he's NOT woke (on social justice), weak (on real theology), or wobbly (he has a high view of the scriptures).
Dr. J.R. Miller is a distinguished scholar with a robust academic background and extensive teaching experience. He holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Ph.D. in ethics, and has taught a variety of theological and ethical topics for over a decade. His inspiring approach fosters deep discussions about faith and culture.
This class was so boring and I struggled to keep my eyes open during the lectures. Professor Miller is a great teacher I'll give it to him, but this class was physically painful to sit through. He often lets students out early especially on test days. There are a lot of papers and presentations so be aware.
Dr Miller may be the world's leading theologian, philosopher, and ethicist. GCU is blessed to have this erudite and accomplished expert. You will be amazed and you can succeed by listening and taking good notes.
DR MILLER is shines with the glow of someone who teaches like Jesus. He's a generational leader and he's a hip dresser and stylist. He's a manly man who leads the way. My only complaint is group work and the no tech policy but he's worth the inconvenience.
Im' so grateful that we have someone who really believes the Bible teaching in theology. Some professors are sketchy. He is a brilliant orator and leader and clearly outshines all the professors with his academic renown. If you listen to his lectures and check out his substack, you will easily do well.
Dr. Miller is a seasoned worldwide scholar who models creativity, expertise, and innovation. His lectures are supported by custom made videos and other media from his influential website. More professors should learn from his knowledge and approach.
An author of several landmark books and the creator of a Christian media empire, Dr. Miller is a renowned scholar who also has a pastoral heart. The course relies heavily on his ongoing research and he uses a host of innovative approaches to his teaching. He is the best professor GCU has and is a model for others. I would never miss this class.
What a gift professor Dr. Miller is to GCU and the scholarship world. It's a privilege to hear his spellbinding lectures and learn from his innovative teaching techniques. The apologetics and explanation videos he shows are super helpful and very important for the quiz.
GCU should make Dr. Miller a University professor who teaches other professors how to be a scholar and an innovator. We are lucky to have him in theology, and other theology professors should learn from his expertise. I highly recommend all worldview students view his creative videos. The information comes alive and you learn it immediately.
Dr Joseph Miller is single handedly the greatest scholar that we have on campus. He's likely going to go down as a generational leader for theology and philosophy. One hundred years from now people will read his authorized collections. Take him and take LOTS of notes. Study what he says in class and his videos.
Mr. Miller is a great guy, don't get me wrong, but his class is almost unbearable. The lectures are so long and boring. I found myself trying hard not to fall asleep. The class isn't particularly difficult, though his grading on papers specifically can be tough, but would not recommend.
Professor Dr. Joe Miller is clearly the best. He's the only professor I've had who is an expert on every topic he discusses (current events, ethics, politics, worldview, epistemology, theology, bible, culture, racism- just to name a few). His quizzes are easy if you listen in class, but that's easy because he's a powerful, ordained speaker.
Professor Miller's complex ideas are transfigured into accessible, memorable, and intellectually vibrant insights because he is a world class Christian scholar. He is a gift of providence & his breadth of knowledge, coupled with a rare capacity for imaginative and engaging instruction, renders him a model for other professors in theology
Simply a marvelous class with a renowned professor whose expertise is revealed in every class. You can literally question him on any topic and it's obvious that he's a scholar. I never want to miss a class because he's creative, innovative, and a formidable speaker of truth.
Ok, buckle up, because Dr Miller isn't just a professor, he's a supernova of intellectual prowess! From the moment you step in his classroom, you're not just a student, you're an acolyte at the altar of knowledge! Forget dry facts-they're electrifying performances! He doesn't just teach; he ignites a passion within you that you never knew existed.
He isn't just contributing to his field, he's redefining it! His research is groundbreaking, paradigm-shifting. Other scholars weep with envy and inspiration. He has the rare gift of being able to communicate the most intricate subjects with unparalleled clarity and enthusiasm. You won't just learn; you'll be transformed! Dr. Miller is a true gem.
I call him “the dr” bc all other profs are his students. He's the LeBron of all theology. A scholar at the top of his game, a true expert on everything. He's GCU's mvp and will be in the hall of fame one day. He knew our mental thirst and gave us streams of knowledge. World wide goat.
Dr. Miller is the finest prof at GCU. He has a singular blend of scholarly brilliance and pedagogical innovation. Author of several landmark books and the architect of a Christian media empire, he brings unmatched expertise to the classroom. His lectures are vibrant, thought-provoking, and deeply formative. He is the gold standard.
The man has written more books than I've read, built a Christian media empire in his spare time, & still somehow finds time to make PowerPoints that could win film festivals. He answers questions like a theological Google except faster & with more soul. I'm convinced he doesn't sleep, he just hovers in a state of constant scholarly enlightenment.
If you take Dr Miller you suddenly realize that all other professors are trying to reach THIS status. Brilliant, sleek, savvy, innovative, charismatic, intuitive, and master communicator. Miller is not only the best ever, he sets the mark for what a Christian leading scholar should do for academics. Go to class, listen, be transformed.
Dr Miller exemplifies the highest standards of Christian scholarship and pedagogy. His lectures are not only intellectually rigorous but also profoundly formative, challenging students to think critically and faithfully. After a few of his lectures you will realize how average other professors are.
This dude sucks. He has the worst attitude, and all he does is yap. The lectures go twice as long as they need to be because dude likes the sound of his own voice. He does not allow retakes and basically is a happiness hater. Do not take him.
Decide what u want: entertainment by a prof in need of self-esteem, or to be patiently led by an expert who will challenge and inspire u to greatness. Prof Miller is a rare light in the vast darkness of mediocrity. An A is within reach, but what's also in reach is true intellectual formation. He plays chess while others profs giggle with checkers.
He was a good dude but if you've never taken a Christian class before I wouldn't recommend it. Since he's done this for a long time he forgets that beginners will struggle with a lot of the topics he brushes over. He does a lot of group projects but if you talk to him about questions and try you'll be fine. Overall he was a great teacher.
Dr. Miller isn't just an educator: he is a maestro of enlightenment, a virtuoso of wisdom, a luminary of learning who transforms the mundane lecture hall into an arena of awe-inspiring discovery! He is the undisputed, unparalleled, and utterly magnificent king of GCU's academic realm! Be prepared to be transcended by his intellect.
He's a legend in theology and philosophy and bible. Truly the best at GCU, so I wrote him a rhyme. Calm and kind, yet sharp and wise, He sees the world through thoughtful eyes. In every lecture, care is shown At GCU, he stands alone. Take the legend and you may become a legend.
All of the reviews are truth. Dr. Miller is the greatest on campus. By far a legend in the making. He could talk about any topic with brilliant expertise. Other theology profs should learn from him. GCU should promote his lectures to every high school student in the country.
God reserved the 8th day for creating Dr Miller. When the universe was complete, God still sensed something missing. Dr. Miller is a teacher whose clarity sparks passion, and a soul whose devotion calls one higher. He does not merely lecture on truth, he incarnates it, inspiring all who sit under his teaching to reach for God's heights.
From the get go I tried to give him grace as he is a Bible teacher, but by week 3 I knew it was going to be a rough ride. He talks on and on and lectures go on forever. His testing system is horrible and he refuses to take accountability. Good material but horrible way to teach it.
He's the best professor at this University and is easily the smartest and knowledgeable on like a thousand areas and issues. He covers it in lectures and he's inspiring us to be the best and cut through culture bias and unbelieving views. Professor Miller has an international platform for his expert roles. Test is easy if you take notes.
There is none greater, no not one. Especially at theology professors in the college. A total expert in every subject he says in our class.
He literally knows more than the internet. Ask him a question and Google shuts down for maintenance because it feels inferior. When he enters our room, the ambient temperature rises due to the sheer heat of his intellect. He has so many degrees, he can communicate with the school's various colleges telepathically. He's 11/10 on his bad days.
The course was not the issue as much as the way that he taught the material. Oftentimes, lectures would drag on longer than necessary, and he would stray from the course material and bring up politics that were not relevant to the class. He is very knowledgeable in his field but it seems that he has a holier-than-thou attitude. Would not recommend
He has a solid understanding of Christian Worldview, enhancing the learning experience. Lectures are about 1 to 1.5 hours long, with tests every two weeks and weekly write-ups. Those who find the class too hard obviously haven't taken a college-level course before. With participation and effort in class and assignments, you'll do just fine.
100 years from now his writings will be viewed as culture shifting. The secret cabal that runs this world will fine a way to clone him so that we can restart the world after the next world war.
He is very passionate about his job and loves to lecture. He is the only Christian Worldview professor who does not allow open notes for quizzes and tests. Notes are handwritten in a packet he hands out, and technology is not allowed. There are quizzes every other week and major assignments as well.
He's a kind and passionate teacher who is well knowledgeable without getting too preachy. Notes are fill-in sheets, with a quiz every other week. Class usually gets out 30 minutes early. He can occasionally veer off and get a political but is tolerable. No phones or technology allowed. Quizzes are not open notes although are not too difficult.
Professor Miller was really nice he was very respectful about all different cultures and their viewpoints and explains Christianity and why it is different than other worldview but still kind about it. He was pretty funny the lectures sometimes do get boring, but they are fun to watch and understand.
If you are at all agnostic, atheistic, or progressive, you may not enjoy this man's class. Not because the subject is hard, but because he does say some pretty weird/extreme things about other worldviews to the point where you can tell he does not actually care for other people's points of view except his own.
Definitely a class you would need to take seriously with this professor. He is really nice and wants students to do well, but lectures are boring especially if you are already familiar with the material. Would take again maybe for a different class though
The GOAT (Greatest of all theologians) by far. If you haven't taken a course with Dr. Miller, are you even really "learning"? He is the undisputed heavyweight champion of the College of Theology.
