Very good teacher. Th professor explains the material so that anyone can understand. Gives lots of notes, but you learn a lot. Study notes & you'll do fine.

One of the BEST professors I've had at NCC. I never wanted to take Philosophy because I didn't think I would understand it but he made it easy. You have to take notes, but the tests are NOT BAD if you study! Final paper was a breeze. Great guy, willing to help and knows his stuff. Highly recommended and I will take more classes with him if I can.

Hey, have you taken Mixie's World Religions class? its the best. He is extremely knowledgeable about world religions and really encourages you to participate in class discussions. Class is pretty easy, mid-term, final and 2 class presentations. I think you get an automatic 90 for the class presentations unless you really mess up! Great guy.

Just finishing Medical Ethics and this is the most interesting class I have ever taken and Mixie is the best professor at NCC. He is so clear and explains everything so you understand it. He also loves student feedback, loves class discussion. The topics are great too; abortion, cloning, healthcare, designer babies, you name it, we talked about it.

I enjoyed Dr. Mixie's class. I took Biomedical Ethics and actually learned a great deal from his class. I would recommend him if you need to take this class. He's very clear on what to expect from him on tests and homework. His syllabus was right on. You have to study and apply yourself, but you can make an A in his class if you study.

Professor Mixie really cares about making you think. We talked about all kinds of issues and how they relate to philosophy. He tries to motivate you to think about things you might not want to think about like your own prejudice, why authority structures are the way they are and should they continue to be that way. He's a real gem.

Dr. Mixie is great! Just finished Medical Ethics and we learned a lot. He makes it very interesting with lectures, class discussion and videos. Awesome exam reviews. Best professor I have ever had.

My only problem is that his quizzes and exams and not clear. Philosophy in general is not clear but he would tell you the definition of something in a lecture then you'd have to figure out which answer is the closest to what he means and you'll probably get it wrong. Course work is done at you own time everything is due at the end of the semester.
