Very clear with the subject. Funny guy and always makes it a point that something he said is very likely to be on the exam. Exams are exactly like class problems aside from the true false. Fill in the blanks have no word box but again he makes it clear when something might be on the test. Highly recommended professor.

Professor Morrissey is one of the smartest teachers I've had here at Binghamton. His comparative psych class, while a bit disorganized, is extremely interesting and informative. I recommend taking any of his seminars, as he is much more personable and funny in small classes than in lectures. He really wants his students to do well!

Psych Stats was one of the best math-oriented classes I have ever taken. Morrissey does a solid job at explaining every concept covered in the course. Professor Morrissey is one of my favorite teachers. I've taken general psych and psych stats with him before which led me to take this seminar. It's a brand new seminar so it's somewhat expected to be unclear in the structure of the class, which is reflected in my rating. Overall, the class is not too difficult but does require considerable time.

Overall the course was very helpful and so long as I paid attention I never fell behind, and I'm not really good at math in general. Comparative psych was my second course taken with Professor Morrissey. He has a laid back and experimental teaching style that is in constant evolution which is perfect because he teaches evolution. If you need extreme structure though, beware. Both courses that I have taken with him (evolution and behavior) are two of my favorites.

Professor Morrissey is very clear when discussing the different subjects. The class is pretty straight forward. Comprised of one group presentation, two online exams, and multiple participation assignments. He cares about the personal growth of his students and is always willing to help.

really great class! makes funny jokes. gives ample time to do samples in class then goes through each step. not much homework and exams are very straightforward. couldn't be any more straightforward

Great Professor, Relatively Easy class, easy homeworks. Go in and check tests because TAs do make grading errors (natural because they are grading 100+ tests)

I would highly reccommend taking Pscyh Stats with morrissey. It is a relatively easy class, albeit a little boring.

Professor Morrissey is very funny and keeps you awake in the afternoon. His notes are very detailed and he also explains the context well.

The only grades in this class are hw and the three tests which make it hard to pass but morrissey tries his best to make everyone understand.

Amazing professor

Morrissey is so nice and tries to keep the class engaged with his light-hearted humor. If you put in the effort and are decent with math you should be able to do fine.

Morrissey teaches a very easy psyc stats; if you understand how to put given inputs into given formulas then you will get an A with no effort. Seriously the class is a joke as far as difficulty. He teaches in a straightforward manner with humor. Plus the textbook he chooses can be found as a torrent so you can save money. Take his class.

This class is definitely bearable even if you don't like math. It's mostly algebra and a little conceptual. Morrissey is a nice guy, a little monotone but has a sense of humor. Most of the students show up to class, although it's not mandatory.

I needed this class for neuroscience. It is not very difficult, but it does get tougher as you progress. Since not many things are graded, every grade counts. I would recommend the class overall.

Prof. Morrissey is a good instructor to take a course with. He keeps things as precise as possible. Although he generally aims for us students to do well, if it is a large class there isn't much leniency. However, I definitely recommend taking courses with Morrissey. Just be sure to study and be attentive and everything will most likely be fine.

Professor Morrissey is honestly awesome! Although class attendance isn't taken, I highly suggest going to class. I personally did not buy the text book, but that is because I previously heard from friends that I did not need it because his lectures explain everything. But he is hysterical, so go to class!! If you slack off, you will get lost.

I'm a senior who has taken 3 classes with Morrissey and can say with confidence that he is one of the best teachers I've ever had at Binghamton University. His insight and sarcasm has urged me to take as many classes wit him as possible. He is clear and concise with his expectations. If you're having trouble he's extremely accommodating.

He explains everything very detailed and moves at a good pace. I was definitely scared for a math class but he made it as simple as possible and actually sparked me interest. Homeworks and tests arent that bad, and homeworks are actually beneficial. I would def recommend this professor, he's patient and sarcastic and I was able to learn a lot.

This the first time Comparative Psychology is offered at BU. Therefore, the assignments and the structure of the class was at times confusing and disorganized. Overall, Professor Morrissey is a great instructor that shows true passion for the topic of evolution and goes above and beyond to help his students.

Morrissey was a great professor. At first it was difficult but once you get used to his lecture style, it is an amazing class. He uses a lot of examples and humor with his lecture and I enjoyed going to his class. Final wasn't cumulative which helped a lot as well.

Amazing teacher and rocks flannels like its nobody's business. TAs do all of his grading but the structure of his classes (I've taken 2 so far) are simple and designed for you to learn and do well. Easy A

Very clear professor. Subject isn't easy, but he explained complex concepts well and didn't make it as hard as it could've been. Going to lecture and taking very detailed notes on what's said there is important because that's what's gonna show up on the tests, not textbook material. Absolutely take Gen Psych with Morrisey!

Morrissey is a cool dude and great professor. Took another class with him in the past and will take a third in the future. He is funny, intelligent and doesnt take things too seriously. If something is unfair, he will rectify it and side with the student over the TA every time.

Started out kind of difficult, but after a while, everything eased out. He can be quite funny, and is easy to talk to. Highly recommend his intro class.

This is my second time taking a class with this professor. I decided to take a seminar with him because I already knew he was a good professor that cares about giving the majority a good grade if they try.

Take PSYC 111 with Morrissey! There is no other better teacher to take the class with. Take good notes (meaning copy exactly what he is saying) and just study from your notes and you should be fine. We had online quizzes from the online textbook we used, which could be challenging for some. But do them in groups and you should be fine.

The class starts out easy and gets harder toward the end of the semester. In order to do well, you have to understand the concepts of the problems and can't wing the test. Study well ahead before the tests, and reviewing lecture is highly recommended. Grading is straightforward, but there is no curve. Go to TA office hours if you have any questions

I absolutely LOVED taking PSYC 111 with Professor Morrissey. The following semester, I enrolled in PSYC 243 with him and felt no different. You can tell that he truly loves teaching and is very much there for his students. His style of teaching is EXTREMELY straightforward, fair, and clear.

I am horrendous at mathematics, and was terrified to take this class. However, this was a math butcher's dream. Morrissey explains the material very simply and clearly, and doesn't make you learn extraneous, irrelevant information. Do practice problems and you will do fine. I love taking Morrissey's classes and will be a TA for them next semester.

The content of the class was pretty boring but, required for all Psych majors so yeah. Funny guy, great teacher, highly suggested that you attend all the lectures because I didn't and the text books for stats are extremely bland. He's really really good at getting his students to grasp concepts.

When I took Comparative Psych, it very much seemed like a class in flux. It was a new course, but once he hit his stride, the class was great. Uses documentaries to supplement the texts (don't have to buy all of them- he breaks them up bt students), but don't underestimate how much time you need to put in to watch them. Hope you like dinosaurs.

I love Professor Morrissey! Hes so funny and goes out of his way to help his students learn. Lectures are posted online along with notes. 4 tests, noncumulative. Quizzes online. Lots of material, memorize your notes! Tests are not meant to trick you and are pretty straight forward. Overall hes incredible.

If you take good notes, make flashcards of your notes, and commit them to memory, the class will be a breeze. His tests do not require application but rather just memory recall. His powerpoint slides don't have all the information: write down everything he says too! The online textbook was useless for the tests but you do need it for the quizzes.

I love the class sometimes it can get Difficult for me but other then that pretty good teacher

Morrissey knew his stuff and was very good at explaining all the material. He went to great lengths to make sure his students had every route possible to get a good grade from posting his lectures online to offering streams in different dorming communities. He tested you on the material so the tests were very straightforward.

I'm pretty bad at math and I can sincerely say that after taking this class, I'm super interested in statistics now! Dr. Morrissey makes the class very straightforward and easy to comprehend. His tests are very to the point and aren't meant to trick you. As long as you put in the work (which is not a lot) you will do fine.

Great teacher! His lectures are very straightforward and he goes over problems and give you time to do your own example in class. His tests are in the same format as his PP slides. Does not try to trick you on exams! His SPSS assignments were ghey but easy. Just take notes and do homework problems and you'll do fine in the class!

Winter Comparative Psych: 2 exams (60 multiples and take home essays), 1 term paper (8 pages), 1 video presentation (12 min), and some participation works(share articles on FB, 3 minutes presentation on the articles, make slideshows for creatures). I had to work so hard every day since it's winter coerce but he's knowledgeable and not hard grader.

He is a great lecturer for this class. He knows what he is talking about. Take good notes and look at the quizlets he posts and you will do really well in the class. His tests are straight forward and he does not try to trick you at all. There is no homework, only three exams (he drops the lowest one) and then the final.

Morrissey is a great professor. He does everything in his power to make sure that you have an extensive amount of study tools on blackboard. Everything on the tests comes straight from his lectures. Attendance isn't required but you should probably go to most lectures to understand the info better.

He is a great professor. Lectures can be a little dry, especially because they are an hour and a half but he posts the videos of all the lectures on blackboard. Attendance isnt mandatory but it is the easiest to learn the material by going to class and taking notes. Mostly memorization and he is interested in the topic which is helpful.

Morrissey is a really great professor. He made the lectures entertaining and was really clear about what you needed to know for exams. The class required literally no outside work.

Had this professor for 2 classes, PSYC 243 and PSYC 344. Best decision I ever made was taking his classes. Best Professor in and out of the classroom. Classes were not hard but they were not easy, work and time was required but if Neuroscience or Psych is your major, you will like what you're studying.
