Slap yourself !!! and just say yes...
Say yes...He threw his eraser at me!!!
He screams at everyone to say, yes. Hard, but gives good curves.
Does not teach, no concept of teacher ethics. How he has a job mystifies me.
should you drop? say YES!
Worthless teacher, could get better education just buying the book. Assigns homework without even getting close to teaching concepts involved.

DO NOT TAKE, he is absolutely the worst teacher I have ever had. He talks way too loud, has an annoying voice, and has no idea how to teach.
Funny Guy but cant teach worth a damn
Does not teach so much as amuse himself deriving equations, then not teaching their proper use through examples. Mean-spirited, to boot.
Don't let the guy intimidate you. You'll get used to him after about a month. He knows his stuff and can go a little overboard with detail, but he teaches well. Lots of visual aids.
Don't even consider signing up for this a hole. Quite possibly the worst teacher I have ever had, I believe I am now dumber than before taking his class. I would rather have my testicles cut off in an Iraqi concentration camp than have to listen to him!
He is entertaining and if you get extra help from him you are better off.

say yes
many students give him a hard time but he is actually a nice guy...actually can understand him, looks like he probably taught high school back where he was from...DONT come late to class, he'll make an ass of you every day
Mosca is a good teacher...u all just need to do your homework and then u may pass the tests...
funny guy sometimes. if you have trouble go to office hours. He'll bump your grade up. the tests are nuts at least 2-3 hours each. if he still uses the computer to teach don't do it
curves... lots... thank god
Mr. Mosca is hilarious...just don't be intimidated by him. His class is challenging, but at least he pushes you to actually learn the material. Don't take Mosca if you're looking for an easy A without doing any work.
Have to get used to him. Don't be late for class! Other than that, with some effort you will be fine.
A horrid teacher. You'll learn nothing and be emotionally/mentally drained in the process. How this man keeps his job is beyond me. He doesn't want you to merely show work...he wants you to prove gravity.
he does not teach and homework everynight really sucks. I think he just randomly picks the problems.
WHY?!?!? OH WHY GOD DID I GET THIS CLASS?!?!?!
HE SUCKS! He does not teach anything and by the time you get out of the class you will still know nothing. Also his test takes 3.5 hours to do just becauses he decides to put 69 questions in which you have to two in which are worth like 65pts. HAVE FUN!
The worse F***ing teacher there ever was. 3 hours of test takin with him hoverin over u talkin every second of it. Embry Riddle please, get him out of here
Endurance! That is all he wants. He will make you learn it. Just study like crazy and never give up...
He went by the book. I hate that! If he ever wrote on the chalk board, it would be confusing due to him getting distracted and carried away on a tangent, "SMACK YOURSELF!" He naver gave out enough time for the test. 1 positive-curves test.
he definitely makes you to study (He assigns tonz of hws, makes you to come to class everyday, encourages you to participate in the class). His lecture is not that great. But I think you will learn a lot from the course if you spend some time on your own
great teacher
He goes by the book, u read and do the examples from the book, u'll be fine. Other than that "Smack yourself" SAY YES...
Mosca is the worst physics teacher that I encountered. He has become tired of teaching and decides he just wants the paycheck. His method of teaching involves picking a student to come up to the computer and press buttons and let the comp teach.
He tries, but he has no people skills. He can't understand that he could be doing something wrong. Never lets you finish a question, and I swear he makes the class say yes, just so he can bring that up if you don't understand something.
When taking a test he talks about 2 of the 4 chapters on it, then he takes over a month to get you your grade. If you like someone yelling at you every 5 seconds and rude and obnoxious, he's the one for you. Otherwise, stay away from Mosca
DO your homework and you'll be ok with him. He is a great teacher. Keep it up Mosca!
As long as you keep youre homework in and are on time to class youre fine. hes a little neurotic but it is highly entertaining..:)
Friendly teacher. Fun classes.. long tests (multiple choice though)
Horrible...just horrible that is all I can say. Bases his whole course on a cd-rom that was published with the book. He is cranky and likes to throw objects at students (like keys and erasers). You never know what he will say next!!!
great professor. 1st semester u'll hate him but the 2nd one u'll love him. make u interest in the subject. very helpfull. great teacher, crazy but fun!!
I really liked Mosca... he is goofy and sometimes it seems like he is yelling but really he just talks loudly. I really enjoyed his class- never missed one. I would take him again if I could.
Somebody say OK!
this guy is the reason I passed physics with the highest grade in the class. He may come off as angry but he's HI-larious if you actually show up AND stay awake.people who don't like him probably snoooooozed their way through.he's an easy pass
Just keeps rambling on in class and doesn't know what he's talking about. Teaches the whole class online. NO PEOPLE SKILLS!! Its time to retire man. Pick someone else. He is good about office hours though.
Mr. Mosca is very excentric, and a great guy. I enjoyed his class very much, and found it extremely entertaining. However when it came down to teaching, Mr. Mosca can go off topic easily, and does not teach in class as much as through homework. Good luck.
Good teacher...made things clear if you read the chapter the night before. Tests are graded based on your work, so even if you don't know how to do the problem, just write down everything and you'll get points
You will stay awake due to his eratic personality lol.. but he grades everything on a curve, lets you correct tests afterwards and get extra points; go to his office anytime with homework.. easy a
At first i didnt like him bc of him personality, but u get use to it, he grades on a curve and he tell u exactly what on the test, there alot of hw, and take home tests, but if u do it, u'll do good on test, not to mention, by doin ur hw, it pulls ur grade up, a letter grade!
10 hours of homework over long weekends and 24 hours of homework over Thanksgiving. Entertaining class but I'm not learning a lot. He often tells you to shut up if you want to ask a question or make a statement. Teaches from a computer program, and tells us how much he hates the way it does things
This guy gives way to much homework, i wouldn't recommend this class to anyone, try getting another teacher. He also has no consideration for any of the students. Blah
dude i hope u enjoy failing cause that all u gonna do in this class. almost impossible to deal with his motto is 2 hrs of homework for every night. thanksgivin is 24 hrs of hw. and he isnm't kidding it does take that much time. don't take him if u have to don't even take the class
CLASSES ARE VERY INTERESTING BUT TOO MUCH OF HOMEWORK. ON THE WHOLE A GOOD TEACHER. EVERYBODY SAY OO AA
He is a terrible teacher in class. He rambles on and on about stupid things. He makes people feel dumb if they do something wrong. Gives homework at 6:00 pm before the date due. Take this teacher if you like a big challenge. Gives way too much homework. Does not go over anything in class
FUNNY GUY BLAH HARD TEST BLAH I GOT STUPID DURING HIS CLASS BLAH HE SAYS AN AVERAGE OF ABOUT 32 BLAHS PER CALSS YOU WANNA TAKE HIS CLASS SAY YES? DONT
Way too much homework. 2 hrs a night including weekends and holidays. The homework is due before we even learn any of the informtion. Even though his tests are graded on a curve, the curve depends on your class. I missed 4 probs. and got a B, while someone in another class missed 9 and got a B+.
I learned physics because of this guy.if you know how to listen and take a lot of **** then take him.easiest class for me to pass SOMEBODY SAY OK!
WOW ummm yeah if you like homework even on holidays, hard ass tests that you have to guess on then take this class. I must say he is always there for help if you need it but moves at light speed and gives a TON of homework!
I'll give him one thing, he's funny. And random. Hard to fall alseep in his class. But he's no pushover. And he has horrible handwriting which makes it really hard to take notes. Even if you don't have this guy he ultimately has a big hand in the Physics department final so there's no getting away.
the material isn't easy but he makes class a little more bareable with his sence of humor. I thought he was a good teacher.
He is a great professor. His classes are interesting and he makes learning physics fun. But his tests are hard.
i don't get why people have a prob. w/this guy. he is sooo easy to understand! he does give a lot of homework, but his test reviews are great and the homework REALLY helps. i learned physics because of him
He gives a lot of homework, but that's good because it's constantly keeping you in check to see if you understand the material. He's a little hard to understand, but he's always willing to make appointments, and he also curves his tests like crazy. Funny guy, and prepares you for the final.
Not a bad prof. Not sure how his tests are this semester, but if you ever have the choice of "all of the above," 99% of the time that's the answer.
doesnt know how to shut his mouth during test. worst test and test atmosphere. tells u something will be on a test and then adds things from chapters that werent covered.
This is how it is: Gives homework on holidays, says somethings not going to be on the test and it is, Doesn't shut up durning test, and is really funny, also very helpful when you go to his office hours for help!
My first year here and I was taking physics. I was not pleased. However Joe Mosca with his thick brooklyn accent really made me feel right at home, some people dont get his sense of humor but this guy is a joker. Tests are a breeze, even us pilots get Bs or As in physics with him.
He sucks! This guy talks durning test and can't seem to shut up. He's funny, but that doesn't make things any better. This guys is not a good professor!
OK, if you can handle a boisterous yankee, and you understand that he doesn't want to take any crap, he is the perfect no-nonsense drill seargeant, if you can take him w/ a grain of salt.
He is a real funny guy, and class is entertaining. There is just one problem, you don't learn anything. Uses a computer CD rather than accually teaches. Tests are always curved 1-2 letter grades higher. Learn on your own class. But most people that fail wouldnt make it as engineers anyway, it takes WORK! Dont study, you fail, its not rocket science
guy is an idiot. Never shuts up and then expects you to know things on the test that he does not cover. Always teaches from a CD rom that sucks and you can hardly read anyway. Not a good professor
Yeah he talks a lot and most of the time he doesn't really say anything smart, but his class is easy and fun.
Horrible teacher. Never shuts up during tests. Helpful if you come for private sessions. If you take him, don't bother showing up to class, because you won't learn anything anyway. Since homework is less than 5% of your overall grade, don't waste your time doing his lengthy assignments. Show up for the tests, learn on your own, and you will do well
Horrible. Worst professor in my 4 years of college. Does not TEACH! He just blabs on about blah' and probably teaches 20% of the time. Extremely arrogant and rude to his students.
very funny...uses experiments to teach...he is very helpful...so if u are looking for a helpful teacher go for him...also he curves the test a lot..so even if u think u failed his test..be surprised to get a B....if u know some physics from before its an easy A.
Excellent and extremely helpful, he really does care if you go to his office hours and very funny too.
This man is a scatterbrain. He openly admits that he is trying to do the dirtiest tricks possible. He does curve nicely, but will make you work. He is very anal about grading. Very interesting to listen to, but can be rude. Be prepared to learn a lot on your own because can be very unclear in class.
One of the worst teachers i've ever had. His notes are impossible to understand and he does not do nearly enough sample problems. The midterm tests are longer than the final and you have less time to do it. On top of all that he is extremely rude and disrespectful to the students. Do not take this guy, you will not do well.
He is sacastic, dont take the dude literally ps160 is a weed out course ,i had him a while back and did decent, regardless of what you think he does give a ^$*(& about the student
This guy is nuts. He's obnoxious, can make you feel dumb, his lectures have little or nothing to do with what your doing. Tons of homework after every class, with no instruction on how to do any of it. You'll go through a chapter or two every week. Tests are awful, but are curved heavily as a result.
You're way better off learning on your own with this guy, his notes are horrendous and they rarely help with homework and or tests. He is a great entertainer though... whjatever that has to do with being a good teacher I don't know???
Man what a terrible teacher. This guy is completely unorganized and his notes are sloppy and hard to follow. He does almost no sample problems in class and wonders why students have a hard time with the tests. His one good point is that he is helpful one on one in his office. However unless you go everyday, it's not going to help your grade much.
An entertaining professor, he keeps it interesting. All fo the hype around him is that he is crappy but truely the nay sayers have no business in physics anyway. If you read the chapters as he assigns, an A in his class is cake. Be ready to actually learn.
Homeworks and tests are hard and ridiculously long, with no extra time. Then he hands back homeworks in a huge stack on the last week of class. His lectures and reviews are of no help. He thinks he is funny, but in fact is very rude to students, especially when you ask him questions. Hands down the WORST professor I've had! Avoid at all cost!!!
He can be very annoying, and going to class is a complete waste of one's time. He manages to talk through an entire class period, and not teach a thing. All learning is done outside of class. I would only take this class if you have an extensive background in physics coming in.
He is the worst teacher I have ever had. We learn nothing and get no HW back. He is always late to class, wont grade our tests(which are on random stuff we never learned), and makes up lies and excuses for everything. I cant tell you what my grade is because he hasnt graded anything. He hates our class and wont give us EC. DONT TAKE HIM.
:( if you like physics and want to do well do not take this man. if you already know physics than still dont take this guy. alot of homework and if you go to his office for help on the homework normally it takes him a while to figure out how to do the problems. :(
Words cannot describe how bad he is. Does nearly no sample problems in class and expects you to do well on tests. He's completely unorganised and not very helpful in his office. On top of that he treats his students like dirt. AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He tends to go on lots of tangents and just keeps talking. Although he may know the material well, he has a hard time conveying it to students.
Basically, awful teacher. If you can actually keep up with all the homework, you'll do well on his tests, but the final exam in that class was full of errors (not really mosca's fault). Still, man's scattered, and if I hadn't already taken the class, I would've been in trouble.
Great at one on one in his office, but not very good in class. Expects kids to know physics before going into class, very easy to get behind and lost. Leaves steps out of eqs expecting your math to advanced past calc 1.
do not take him..awful teacher
Basically a good teacher. He *is* very loud and eccentric, but that has got nothing to do with his teaching skills. Does lots of demos. Always well dressed. He needs to be a little more calm and not overly excited all the time!
I am currently taking 104 with him and previously took 103, he knows his stuff but is incredibly boring and a horrible teacher. Don't take Mosca J
Class is "story time" aka the history of the stuff hes "teaching" you that is not on the tests. He does not teach you what's on tests and hes is loud and obnoxious. He gives an hour of homework for each night and gave us 14 hrs of homework for over spring break. I have a 3.5 cgpa at Riddle and I just failed the last test... you decide.
This professor is not the one to take. His grading system is awful and does not believe in giving out bonuses. curves everything, which doesn't surprise me since most ppl voluntarily don't turn in their hw. speaking of that, Mosca claims he WANTS to be the teacher who gives out the most hw! do not take the class
basically expects you to read the book and do his stupid ass homework to teach you the material himself. he spends all class period yelling and being obnoxious instead of teaching the material. take Vuile instead
Professor Mosca is possibly the worst teacher I have ever encountered. Not only does he not teach, but gives tests on the material he thinks he taught. Not surprisingly, he has to implement a mega curve on every single test. This doesnt help you however, when you get only 3 questions right. DONT TAKE MOSCA. HE IS AWFUL, YOU WONT LEARN A THING
Mosca teaches concepts but not how to do the problems. Hes really loud but also really funny. hes a cool guy but a sucky teacher
Well, I passed the class but feel I did way to much work for way to little and it was extremely difficult. My buddies got O'Reilly and says it's fun/easy. If I could do it over I would of absolutely not taken his class.
AVOID!!!! Terrible teacher for this class. Expects you to read the book cover to cover essentially. Syllabus states that there is 2 HOURS of homework for each HOUR of class time. HOMEWORK TIMES INFINITE. Yells a lot, doesn't listen to students much, Lots of Homework, I actually UN-learned how to do vectors and components in his class. DO NOT TAKE.
Knows material, but can't teach it. Very intimidating and not helpful.
He gave way to much homework so I decided not to do any of it. But he curves his tests so much that I truelly just filled in bubbles and still got a C in the class. I didn't learn anything, you can pass this class asleep, but hes a horrible teacher. Nice guy though once you get past his loud outer shell. Easy to pass, sucky class. You cant get an A
Mr. Mosca is an awesome teacher. He seems rude but he is not trying to be a jerk. he is just loud. Teaches with lots of experiments so keeps it really interesting . Do the reading , and the home work and class is easy! Curves on every test and aggregate. He is funny and awesome! take him!
Def. prefers women to men, I have plenty of examples to back up my opinion (P.S. I am a woman). Decent professor, gives generous curves on all grades. Takes forever to give back assignments though.
Took him in summer...easy B.you wont understand the material though...but he rarely fails you,if you show him that you're trying hard.i recommend him if you wanna pass physics 3 without understanding the material
You will pass but you wont learn any physics at all. He is very unprofessional and disrespectful unless you are a female. Take him if you don't want to learn but still want to pass and you don't mind being treated disrespecfully!!!!
Bloody waste of time and money.. You will pass but don't expect to learn anything from him. And he gives a ton of homework without teaching you, expecting you to learn yourself. I don't really mind that but please don't charge me $3k for this crap..
DO NOT take Mr. Mosca for physics. You will pass, but only because he gives so much extra credit and test corrections and curves every test. You will learn absolutely nothing and he takes so long on the first three chapters that he rushes through the rest of the material. If you actually want to learn something, don't take him!
Didn't seem usefull to attend class. Just study the book.
Mr. Mosca is very helpful IF you are working! He can be hard at first but will help you if you show initiative.
