Rough. 3 hour lecture of him reading straight from the textbook. Skip class and read on your own. He doesn't explain how to operate software and it took me half the semester to get a hold of him because he rarely replies to emails. Better off taking with another prof that can at least explain material. Tests are difficult, and I studied very hard.
He said that it was his first time teaching this class so he will probably improve over time. You don't have to go to class but he may offer extra credit sometime which requires going to class so you should take his offer because the exams are hard. Excel is required for assignments. He's nice.
Oregon is still getting the hang of teacher but he is straight to the point and caring. He goes over power points but take notes on them because they will help you on the exams. He loves feedback and is willing to help at any time. Make friends in the class and do the assignments right after class with them. Read and take notes on the textbook!
Although he's a really caring and nice professor, not the best lecturer. Class is 3 hours long and he basically just reads off of the power points. He doesn't go over the online homework assignments so you basically have to do those self taught. Exams can be very difficult if you don't study enough.
He lowkey dope, just not the best teacher.
This guy is the absolute BOYYYYY. Take his class. He's funny and has good lectures. You can get 100% on all projects and homework. Gives extra credit to those who attend. Very Test heavy but the tests aren't that bad. Read the chapters and skim the PPTs and your should be good. Good projects and you learn to code a little. Very enjoyable class.
The man definitely cares about his students and wants them to pass while learning everything about his field. He skims over PP slides while being very thorough on what will be on upcoming exams.-the exams aren't that bad but he will curve varying upon class performance. Attendance is occasionally rewarded with extra credit. Very flexible man.
I went into this class absolutely sure I would fail. I didn't know this teacher and I heard the horror stories about the other professors. However, this teacher was great. He even would tell us when extra credit was coming. The class is heavy on the tests so DO NOT slack but I would take this professor before the others one if I wanted to pass.
Professor O is a good guy who is all about his students. His lectures aren't interesting but it is helpful to go to class because he gives you hints on what to look at for the tests. The tests are dense and require a good amount of studying but are passable. He gives out a lot of extra credit for just coming to class, and homework is easy.
Take Oregon, he is a super good dude. Has an average amount of homework each week but is defiantly doable. First exam will be tough but you will do better on the rest. Best MIS teacher at SDSU.
DONT TAKE THIS CLASS, test are impossible unless your a professor, you have a quiz after class on Saturday which makes no sense cause you have 0 time to study for it?? for a pre req class this guy has no idea what he is doing... he's smart but cannot teach for is life.. take with different teacher, no wonder so many seats are open lol DONT TAKE
stay far away from this class, cool guy but gives waaaayyyy to much homework for such an easy class, doest give you enough time for to take the quiz, test are impossible, average is a 73?? interesting must be the teacher then?? STAY far away and take with a different professor!!! trust me you'll thank me later
DO NOT TAKE!!!! you will do homework for hours, literally hours, the only good reviews are from kids that know everything, however for everyone else this class is difficult because of the way he teaches, his average was super low, but in other classes the average is, he doesn't know how to teach please don't take!! you've been warned!!!
Has shown more care for his students then any professor I have taken. Office hours he is extremely helpful to students. This course is difficult no matter what prof but if you want a prof who will inspire you to succeed take his course. I did bad on the first test and excelled in the rest from his tips during office hours. Just stay on top of it
Yea stay away from this prof, not many people in the class because he gives hours on hours of homework, half the class withdrew, textbook is 180 bucks, test are impossible unless you literally read the book inside and out and know every word!! cool guy though
Oregon is a really great professor. always available to answer as many questions as you have and explain anything you need help on. lectures aren't mandatory. everything he shows or tells the students can be found on blackboard. however, he does give a lot of test hints as to what things you should study so its best to go to lectures.
Oregon is the absolute best and cares so much about his students. His classes are lectures off powerpoints, but A+ covers everything if you don't go to class. He goes over similar versions of the tests for review. The first test will scare you but it gets easier. Gives extra credit & online homework is alright. Curved overall grade too. 100% take
Entering my first class at SDSU as a thirty one year old, I was nervous for many reasons. From the very first day, Oregon was understanding, communicative, and straight forward. He sticks by the Syllabus, outlines test study material clearly, and even took my after hours office hours phone call while HE was sick. Recommended Highly.
MIS is a hard class in general, and you just have to know the terms. He curved like crazy when I took it Spring 2017. My average test score all together was a 78 I think and I ended up with a solid B. Not sure if he still does that though. I took him Spring 2017.
Oregon is pretty cool. If he tried a new method of teaching besides using powerpoint all the time his class would be way more interesting and less boring. Definitely go to the A-plus reviews when you can. I studied the powerpoint slides the night before each test and ended with a solid B. Actually learned some interesting stuff from him too
Truly one of the most genuine professors, & cares about his students so much. He definitely makes you work for your grade with lots of homework & pretty difficult tests. Take your time with everything, read the textbook, show up to class & pay attention to his lectures & you'll be fine. He gives lots of extra credit too! Learned a lot though!
Professor Oregon may not have been the best at teaching, however he compensated by being very reasonable and flexible. He truly wants his students to succeed in his class (and more importantly in their careers) and will do everything in his power to help. I felt as though Oregon worked together with his students to help them achieve a fair grade.
Great teacher, lectures make sense and he really goes into depth with the hard to understand concepts. When he is lecturing make sure to pay attention because he will tell you EXACTLY what will be on the tests. Heres where it gets bad he assigns busy work that doesn't teach you anything called SIMnet. It sucks. Its a "walkthrough" that doesnt work.
He seems like a very down to earth/helpful/caring professor but don't let that fool you he's just like all the rest. Won't hear you out, makes assignments unnecessarily hard, chooses the worst dates and times for things because I mean you do't have any other things in your life besides MIS 180 right. Don't bother asking for something it'll be a no.
Oregon is such a chiller. Just show up to class and he goes over everything thats going to be on the exam. Easiest class of my semester.
Yes this is a very hard class it is MIS, but he really cares about his students. He is one of the only MIS professors that gives you multiple trys on homework and quizzes, so your extra credit can go towards your tests. He really wants people to succeed and he honestly became one of my favorite professors because of that. You get the grade you earn
Really really good professor! Not trying to trick you or play games. He goes over power points during regular class and then for exams goes back through and tells you exactly what to study. MIS is always a tough class but Oregon knows a lot of students have to take it as a GE and wants you to pass. Good dude.
Prof O was one of my favorite profs so far at SDSU. Straightforward class, 4 exams each worth 20%. HW and Quizzes together are 20%. Quizzes and HW due every week. Study for exams straight from powerpoints. Doesn't try and trick you. Take advantage of all the extra credit offered. Oregon is a really caring guy, doesn't give + or -'s a 69.5 is a C.
Oregon is one of the best professors I have had on this campus. He really cares about how well his students do and is flexible on assignments if you have a legitimate excuse. His powerpoints are a little hard to get used to but he makes sure that you understand the material at the end of the week. He also gives extra credit which is super helpful.
If you're interested in MIS i'd recommend taking Oregon but if not try taking it at a community college. Prof Oregon is the man and super chill however it is a challenging class that you have to put in work for. There are four exams that make up 80% of your final grade and the other 20% are assignments. I worked hard and got a B.
Professor Oregon is genuinely the most caring professor I have ever had. He really cares about his students and wants you to pass. The lectures are powerpoints and the material from the slides are on the test; it's very important to attend class. He will also go over material before the exams so you know what to study. Take his class if you can.
This is a 3 hour class but it never goes more than an hour and a half. He goes super fast in lectures which is tough to pay attention to. However, if you look at the powerpoints it's easy to understand. Study a lot and tests will be okay.
Tests are more or less straight from the homework and lecture. Oregon is a great guy and knows his stuff, no real surprise questions. Take good notes and do your work and the class shouldn't be a problem.
Oregon is chill and doesn't waste your time. Our 4-6:40 class was always let out 1+ hour early. This class covers a lot of material, but he's very clear on what will and won't be on exams, no trick questions. Weekly reading quiz and Excel/Access assignments, 3 midterms and a cumulative final. Always attend the class before exams for extra credit.
Oregon is a super chill and down to earth guy. He cares about his students and wants them to succeed as well as learn valuable business skills for the future. He does his best to teach a hard class as easy as he can and literally tells you everything that will be on the tests. Pay attention and take notes, easy B.
I took him as a professor because I heard he was chill but I would not take him again. During the lectures he just goes through the slides but goes soo fast so its hard to keep up. he also NEVER answers his emails, and his "office hours" are just waiting after class to ask a single question, in which he responds saying "just email me".
Misrepresentation of extra credit. Does not respond to emails. Tries to be an entertaining lecturer. You dont know your grade the whole semester. Takes forever to grade things. He tells you one thing in class but that does not hold true whatsoever. Have fun teaching yourself how to use excel and microsoft access.
Definitely go to the lectures. He goes through power point slides and tells you exactly whats going to be covered on the tests. We played jeopardy for extra credit before tests. He rounds 89.5% to an A but I got a 89.48% and he didn't round me but ITS FINE I GUESS. He randomly chooses people to answer questions but not too often.
Oregon really wants his students to succeed, very understanding. That said, the class is not easy and the tests will required studying and careful reading of the questions. Two sections of homework, Excel/Access and questions about MIS. Going to have to really try for an A, but a B is definitely achievable.
He doesnt take attendance but you should go to class if you wanna do well on tests. Bought the book and never even opened it. Did all my studying with the power point slides he gave us and the weekly quizzes he gave.
nice guy but unprofessional. want your email answered? follow up three times and wait 5-7 business days. his exams really badly written and full of typos making the questions indecipherable. the questions ask you the most irrelevant and specific details from the book. your best bet is to take CISC181 online at mesa-- hella easy and it transfers
Not willing to help, when you ask a question he gets mad if we had already went over it, or didn't understand, not motivated. Makes test unnecessarily hard, got to memorize every single small thing in the book as it can show up in the test. Also very unclear with extra credit and takes forever to respond to emails.
Exams very hard, you have to remember all the concepts to fill in the blanks.I would say this is unnecessary and would cause problems for international students. Lectures are heavy but most of them are useless, unprofessional teaching. I ended up with a D and attended the SDSU summer session, same course but different professor, easily got an A.
Easy class to pass because a lot the assignments are based off things he doesn't make himself (utilizes Connect, simNet, etc) - so a lot of the material can be found online. Definitely didn't learn as much as I wanted to because the professor was very hands-off during this semester - not worth the tuition.
This is by far the WORST professor at SDSU. Several classes were cancelled literally minutes before the class was about to start. Extremely lazy instructor. NEVER answers emails.. notifications for assignments are always late. This is pathetic and its b.s. that we as students pay for an instructor like this. If you want to learn nothing take him.
Super lazy professor. Cancelled classes, did not teach, exams were extremely hard. He was not there for us during a semester where we all needed extra support. Ignored emails and did not make himself available. When he did finally teach he had an annoying bird that was loud in the background of his lectures you couldn't focus. What a joke of a prof
Literally my least favorite teacher I have had in my life soo far. I hope it is just because it was an online course but he NEVER answers emails. This class is also very test heavy (and there is a decent amount of homework that is hardly ever thoroughly explained).
This class is not as hard (online) as I anticipated, but the lectures are painfully boring. I never went, just looked over the textbook for exams that were fairly difficult and still managed. Weekly homework and microsoft access assignments. If you have to take this class, Oregon is the best you'll get.
Oregon is so unorganized, unresponsive to email, and unhelpful. He cancelled live lectures regularly when the entire class was struggling and confused. Doesnt update grades. Doesnt communicate. Quizzes are only available on SATURDAYS. its a requirement but its so terrible. JOIN THE GROUPME or you wont pass.
Grades are still not in, false promises made, never checks emails, sloppy exams the list seriously goes on.. covid19, spam, hard to check emails..b.s. TERRIBLE professor. Very unorganized and extremely unprofessional. Cancels class literally minutes before they would start. Not one time but several times. Forget asking for help. Rating: POOR
Professor Oregon is generally nice and considerate towards his students. However, I found his lectures to be unhelpful and a waste of time. I did not get much educational value out of this class as it is mainly based on rote memorization of technical jargon.
solid choice. very informative. however the exams are pretty challenging.
I don't know why everyone's complaining. Oregon is laid back, down to earth, kind and responds to emails. Not just emails but he's even spent his own time with me on 3 calls when I've asked for help. MIS-585 was a bit dry but the project was fun and he listened to feedback from students and modified homework. I got a cyber job based on his advice!
Prof Oregon was good at actually teaching and explaining the material but was very unprofessional when it came to communicating with students. He would never answer emails, even when the syllabus said he would be checking constantly.
Worst class I have ever had. What's ironic is that the exams are 80% of the grade yet he gives out so much homework. He obviously has control over the assignments and chooses to give tons of homework and weekly excel projects. Save yourself and choose a different teacher. He never answers emails. He is very condescending when you talk to him.
Prof is a really great guy, solid teacher, hes very understanding with any technological and outside issues. This class is a lot of work but go to the classes and youll have everything you need to get a solid grade on the exams.
Never responds to emails, takes forever to grade the ONLY things he has to grade (the 4 tests that make up 80% of our grade) though he says he'll grade them soon, lots of homework for it only being worth 15%, quizzes every week for 5% of final grade, the syllabus says there's extra credit but he says there's not, he takes his shoes off during class
Pointless projects and impossible test. On every single test there were multiple questions that repeated themselves. He skips over half of the material during lecture and says its useless and then makes the test all about the material he skipped.
No communication, only 1 of like 5 exams counts for 80% of the entire grade, 60 question quiz every week that's worth like 5% of the final grade and overall bad.
MIS 180 was an easy class simply because I knew the material before, Professor Oregon was the worst professor I had in my first year at SDSU. I emailed the Professor 12 separate times to ask about homework and one quiz I missed for pretty serious reasons, he only responded to emails the first week of class. Tests are 80% he takes a month to grade.
There actually wasn't a "NOT accessible outside of class" but that's what I meant. This man made it clear he has another job and this isn't his main priority in life. NEVER checks emails, online lecture, in-person exams, only TA proctors test, excel assignments and busy-work assignments due weekly (get ready for wonky due dates). TAKE ABHARI
Horrible communication and takes weeks to grade tests. On multiple tests there were repeated questions (out of 50 questions on one exam, 10 of them were repeated). Worst professor I have taken at SDSU, be prepared to study for multiple hours.
Not so sure how Oregon has low ratings. Most of the complaints I heard in class were from transfer students or incoming freshman...explains a lot. Show up to his lectures and take notes. For the final, he even brought the test in and read out all of the topics we should know right off of the exam!!! Not sure how it gets any better than that...
Guys this class is not that bad. Work independently and follow the syllabus and you will literally do fine. You have a week and unlimited attempts for the hw and online quizzes on Sat and everything is straight from the txtbook. Type vocab/definitions from the chapters then memorize those and you will get an A bc his tests are only definitions.
Never got back to his students when they emailed him, always cancelled class and didnt come to his own tests, created deadlines over school breaks, was very uninteresting
He's a pretty chill dude when he shows up to class. His way of explaining material and relating it to business is great, very understandable. His exams are based solely on vocab learned throughout the chapter. Lecture was supposed to last 2 hours and 40 minutes but he usually got us out in an hour and a half which was cool.
tests are 80% of your grade but he is very clear about what info will be on them. his brother, who subs for him, is easily the worst professor i have ever encountered. he singlehandedly hurt my grade. oregon knows what hes talking about but wont answer any emails. could be better could be worse,
Great professor and person but horrible class. Hated the content and the grading. Really difficult to get an A on exams unless you have photographic memory. Mostly just busy work, but not too difficult. Never answers his email which is frustrating.
Email him through the Canvas inbox for a response. But you need a PC with access to Microsoft Excell and Access, Respondus Lockdown Browser, a webcam, and do four separate homework assignments each week, three due on the same day at 10 PM exactly. You need to sign the syllabus or else you're dropped from the class after 2 weeks of enrollment.
You have to complete four assignments as homework, three are due on the same day due at 10 PM. If you miss one assignment of 100 points, your grade drops by 6%. The Independent projects are editing spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel, but complete those days before the due date. Also, in-class quizzes every Wednesday. No attendance no points. :(
Oregon's fair. Just finish the four homework assignments early, get access to a Dell PC and use the Microsoft Excel and Access to finish the homework. Read the modules & syllabus. Oregon tells you what to study carefully for exams. Find help to complete the HTML project, you design a website, and weekly Independent Projects, editing spreadsheets.
1. Independent Project: Go to the 24/7 Study Center and use a Dell/PC. 2. He doesn't change due dates on time: List all the homework/projects/exams into a calendar for each month. 3. Exams: Share and make a study guide, study four hours a day. 4. HTML/Final Assignment: Find a Computer Science major to tutor and help design the work.
For the Independent Projects, Find a Dell/PC to use, never use Macs. You need Microsoft PC to finish the work on Excel and Access. For the instructions, make sure to read and follow the steps in chronological order. So, just search up the names for each one on YouTube to understand how to complete them. But some steps in the videos are different.
Average. This class is just hard regardless of professor but this was a bearable amount of work and grading criteria. 3 exams (50 qs), 1 final (100 qs), weekly quizzes, and 2 weekly homework assignments. The tests are worth a lot more of your grade than the homework so it is important to do well. Everything on tests is presented in lecture.
He never shows up to class and does not clearly state what's on the exam. Exams were hard and cumulative exam for the final. He left out important info during lectures that were on the exam. Do not take him
Check your email around 1 AM, he will cancel classes hours before you wake up. Go to the 24/7 hour center to use a PC, don't use Apple products for his class. Just read the appendixes before the chapters for an exam, use the prep exams to prepare. Join or form a GroupMe for help. The Independent Projects can be found on YouTube. Finish the HTML.
Every Wednesday, you show up to class on Zoom, only to take a quiz in the modules at the same time. You can find the instructions for most of the Independent Projects on YouTube. Not all the projects, but most. After the first exam is taken, he will not bother showing up to after office hours on Fridays. You have to keep your Zoom cam on exams.
He had so much work planned ahead for us to take. It seemed to be intimidating. At first. He insisted on perfect attendance, at least four times he canceled class. These announcements were made before 2 AM. By exam #2, most homework was worth less than 1%. You can miss two assignments, with 75%, and still keep that 75%. He skips after office hours.
From the first day of class, use a PC for the work. No MacBooks. Only Microsoft/Dell products. Finish the Independent projects, first. Finish the HTML project by April. Read the appendixes, & take prep exams for studying the exams. Don't cram, or procrastinate. Give it at least 3 hours a day of studying. He's late, he cancels class at 1 AM too much
I took him online. He one time held a lecture while driving, which goes to show the effort he puts into class. Keeps cancelling class or even worse just wouldn't show up without any notification. Preaches attendance yet barely showed up to his own class. Will barely get through a quarter of the course material during lecture. But Easy A nonetheless
I never met a more procrastinatory professor before. He canceled classes at 1 AM. He recycled instructional videos on the final project, or final assignment. He talks a full 43 minutes about defining tags, or codes in parenthesis, then at minute 44, he discussed the final assignment. In no chronological order. Not the worst or the best.
He's not the worst, and he's not the best. Yeah, he's canceled class. Sure, he should have given us less quizzes the just had the same questions as they were included in for homework. But at least his methods are predictable. Miss one assignment? Make up for it with three more. Exams? Just look up appendixes, and take prep exams, he gave us those.
I took Professor Oregon during the summer online and he was really laid back and accomodating.
I ended up dropping this class because I didn't want to take it during the summer, but professor Oregon is super chill and as long as you communicate with him you should be good.
His final project, the HTMl, was worth 3% of your total grade. So, you miss it, and have 75%? 72%. Just worry on the tests, and use a Microsoft PC at school in the 24/7 study center. Those independent projects have instruction videos on YouTube. The homework? Just use Quizlet or the textbook. I also suggest forming a GroupMe chat or share notes.
Very unorganized. My class was always completely confused about what was due and when. Didnt do a good job of communicating. Seems like a nice guy just not the best teacher.
He is completely unorganized. I am currently taking the online class and the book he uses is 2016 when in his own syllabus, it states the 2021 version will be used. This requires students to pay for a book they don't need to purchase. I can already tell this class is going to be a burden given how unorganized he is and his lack of communication.
DONT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO RESPOND AT ALL AND HE ASSIGNS A LOT OF HOMEWORK. DEF WOULD FIRE HIM IF I COULD.
Two weeks into his class I had to drop him. Worst experience as a student. He is less of a teacher and much more of a proctor. 5 assignments a week. Lectures wouldnt cover everything. He's more concerned with academic honesty and ways to prevent cheating then actually teaching us on the material we are tested upon. Its completly through McGraw Hill
This is an online exam that I had to drop because his class consisted of memorization and test heavy. I personally am not good a memorization. He makes you use a lockdown browser and exams are like 80% of your grade. If you are good at memorizing take this. This professor cares more about "not cheating" and rules than about his students learning.
He does not respond to ANY emails. The whole class has to spam his email for him to fix something. Very heavily test weighted and homework doesn't really do much to your grade. You have to memorize an insane amount. He also uses a lockdown browser.
AVOID IF POSSIBLE the toughest class for no reason. Does not teach you anything, this is all on your own. Homework takes at least 12 hours. Such a waste of time. AVOID
The class is hard but if you show up to lectures and study for the test, you'll pass. If you don't put in the work or time, you will not succeed. Not an easy class but Joe really tries to help you succeed.
AVOID if possible! Hardest class for no reason, gotta stay up grinding homework and studying for the tests. Does not teach you anything and sometimes will give a practice test that has nothing to do with the real test. Good luck if you have him. Only reason I got a B was because the final was easy.
He would abruptly cancel or not even attend class online for several times after our first exam. He stopped responding to most email questions by this point. His final project only had our grades bump up by three percent, even if the entire project was completed at 100%. He had me wait half an hour to answer another question, and he still left!
Everyone on this website is absolutely bugging. As far as MIS180 professors go, he is absolutely the best one and easiest one you can get. Hes a cool ass dude, the homework is light if ur not dumb, the tests are common sense and you need to study for literally an hour and a half before the test. I missed half the class and ended with an A. Take him
If you have to take him, don't let the reviews below scare you. He turned out to be great and is very reasonable. Exams are based on straightforward vocab/concepts. Don't procrastinate on assignments and you will do fine. He has a day job which might interfere with availability, but he does his best. Overall, all the negativity is quite exaggerated
Joe really cares for his students and listens if you ever reach out. Attendence isn't mandatory but it really helps if you go. Lectures aren't boring and he never goes to the full 3 hours because he tries to keep it short and concise but still telling us what we need to know for tests. Overall, super good class.
I took this class freshman year and did not know much about computers. the material starts with Excel assignments which are extremely helpful if you want to go into accounting or finance. Lectures are not mandatory but I highly recommend going to them. Material is complicated but he is a great lecturer and keeps the classes engaging.
Joseph Oregon is a good professor.Tests were 80% of your grade and the assignments and weekly quizzes made up the other 20%. Practice tests on Canvas were available throughout the semester, and he would use some of these questions on the tests. Just read the textbook and go to class, and you'll be fine.
Funny guy, good professor, if you do the readings you will be fine
Oregon is a great, super laid-back guy who obviously cares about your success. I only had his class once a week, and it was technically a 2.5-hour long class, but he would always get you out in around an hour. Class isn't mandatory, but you should definitely go. Tests are 80% of your grade, but they're 90% vocab, so if you study, you'll be fine.
You get what you put into this class. I took MIS 180 online with Oregon, so it was basically teach yourself. But he gave you everything you needed to succeed, and it was very clear he wanted to help his students get there. Hard to reach but understanding and overall super cool guy.
This professor is awesome.Took MIS 180 in person and safe to say its an easy class if you keep up with the work and try. He's incredibly understanding and is there to talk if you ever need someone. He gets straight to the point and doesn't waste any time, and the textbook isn't necessary since the lectures are straight out of the textbook.
Oregon is an awesome professor! He is super kind and understanding, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about the success of his students. Definitely take the practice exams he has posted before taking the actual exam, as a lot of the test questions will come from the practice exam.
If you're gonna take mis take it with oregon. Although tests are information dense if you read his online powerpoint and do the practice test you'll get a B. Final project is a coding project which didn't rly make much sense but it id easily done through AI. I attended the class only for tests and got a B+
The professor keeps classes engaging, but attendance is a must. Tests can be tricky, so studying the textbook and using tools like unstuckstudy for practice are key. Overall, a manageable class if you put in the work.
good prof, just takes forever to grade exams, doesnt do + or - for grading either
really accomodating and caring. if you're struggling just let him know he's hella cool.
He gives extra credit opportunities, and the online class was great. I would say he's a good professor, but if you struggle with MIS topics, the online class might be hard
Prof Oregon is a great professor and he really knows his stuff. Class isn't mandatory but he tells you what will be on the exams if you attend. He doesn't use +/- which sucks and exams are worth a lot of your grade, but otherwise a good course. The exams are all multiple choice and he takes a lot of the questions straight from the study guide.
I taught myself the whole course. When I went to class, he read from the published PowerPoint slides. I only passed because I made a quizlet on all the chapter assignments and chapter quizzes. Each test required me to study about 300 terms. He does not curve, and there was one extra credit opportunity. Takes about 15 questions from the test prep.
Concepts werent hard but his lectures are just powerpoints straight from the text book he's a nice guy and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities but his tests are not very similar to test prep.
Lenient and understanding
Very good teacher engaged and understands that students have problems outside of classroom.
Overall an easy class if you show up and do the homework. Multiple practice test that he uses to make the exams with. Caring dude that you can talk to if you're struggling
Nice professor! Easy class! The only “hard” part would probably be the exams (but even then, if u study w the practice exams he provides… ur guaranteed AT LEAST a 70). HTML assignment was so easy.
Prof Oregon is really passionate about the subject. Was not difficult to get a C at all. Grade depends on tests and how well you can study. I took the practice exam right before class to study and averaged a 75 on the exams. Really understanding about any situation you might be in.
Professor Oregon is a nice man, he clearly knows what he's talking about and does his best to give his students info about tests which are 80% worth of grade even though the test are difficult. The subject needs a lot of attention put into because it is a lot of info so study ahead of exam dates, classes are short and overall not bad.
There are 3 tests weighted 20% each and then a 20% final. The final is easier than the tests if you study the materials. Lots of terms to learn, but nothing crazy difficult. There are opportunities for extra credit. If you put effort into this course, you will get a B. The Excel homework takes a while but if you do well on tests, you can just skip.
Prof. O is super personable despite it being a large class. He explains the material well and does a great job of relating a more technical class to the big picture of business. 4 exams all of which were pretty easy if you just study the textbook definitions and slides. He also made our 7-9:40pm lecture enjoyable and engaging.
Professor Oregon was an amazing professor, don't let the past reviews for his class turn you away from taking his class, as he showed respect and care for his students. There are a lot of things to memorize for tests, but if you do his practice test repeatedly you should be able to pass easily.
The exams are vocab heavy. If you show him you care, you'll be good. He's very caring and wants his students to succeed. I went a couple of times to his in-person lecture, and he's hilarious!
Professor Oregon is great at his job and cares about his students success. The class is very difficult and content-heavy, but if you attend his lectures, take notes, and use the hints he gives you in class, you will be just fine. Three exams, a final project, and a final exam. It should be noted that he doesn't do pluses or minuses in grades.
80% test, but he prepares you for them. He gives a practice test that contains some of the exam questions. During lectures, he gives hints on what will be on the exam and overall prepares you well for the exam and the final. Really caring professor, and sometimes gives extra credit. He doesn't believe in + or -, so a 70% is a C, and it's passing
Good professor. I am a very technological person and the way he would break his subjects down was very clear to understand. Exams required studying material learned before exam. Solid class, would take again. His experience in MIS and the companies he has worked with are inspiring.
