THIS IS THE WORST TEACHER YOU COULD EVER HAVE. HE IS MEAN DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING. HE CAN'T EXPLAIN****. HE GETS REALLY MAD IF YOU ASK QUESTIONS. PLEASE IF YOU WANNA LEARN AND GET A PASSING GRADE, DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY.
This teacher is not very clear wth the work he gives. The test were short but all work had to be shown and worked out. I felt he didn't spend enough time on each lesson. If you have your own personal tutor, you should do good in his class but, don't look to him if you want to learn
this teacher was really good. i was nervous to take this class at first but he made it clear and i think %90 of the class got an A or B.
He is unclear, often contradicts himself, gives definitions that are self referential. He gets upset when you ask a question, isn't bale to keep up with his own sylabus and views every comment as an attack on his ability to teach. He often says "Don't blame me" as if anyone would. He's do better to focus on helping his students achieve good grades.
This professor is confusing because he teaches us method and ways to do thing that he would rather us not use, so on the test it gets confusing. He has this impression that if you don't pass his test th only reason is because you didnt study or do HW. His test are short but each question is worth like 5- 10 points, so it's easy to fail off simple

He's dedicated & if you pay attention you be able to understand 90% of the material, but he explains some of the material more complex than it really is, and i think wastes valuable class time by prolonging certain steps in examples. Hes a decent teacher, but I would strongly recommend Janette Campbell over Joseph Pick any day for this class.
3 out of 16 ppl are passing this class. He does not help with your grade. On your tests he does not give you partical credit you have to fight for your points.I studyied 30 hours for his test with a tuitor and I still got a D. He is very disorganized he thinks you should know what's he's teaching when he dosent even teach the material! Very unfair

Worst teacher EVER!! Horrible teacher-- i did all homework and went to the lab and got an F for the first time in this class-- high school i had all a's and b's DONT TAKE THIS PROF! I think everyone failed his class, initially he SEEMS like a nice guy but doesn't care less if you pass or fail.
WARNING!! Do not take this teacher! I had a 620 on my math SAT i go to FAU and took this class at PBCC but got a D! I went to class, did all the hw but failed all the tests. Everyone failed. NO CURVE. I tought i would pass since i was doing better than a lot of ppl but we all failed. If u take him you're wasting time and money dont be stupid
If you come to class and do the homework you will pass. He doesnt curve but if you show improvement he will give you the grade.
He is very helpful, and you avoid a lot of the long methods of statistics because he is heavy on using the TI-83 or 84. I found his tests very difficult, and did not do too well even though I studied and did all of the homework. This is the hardest class I have ever taken in my life. Study often, very often and go to every class.
My class started out as 30.... at the end of the second class. our ACTIVE roster... SIX!!!!!!!!! He is a numbers kind of guy --- DO THOSE NUMBERS MEAN ANYTHING?!?!?! A few kids even went to the Dean to get their money back.
Best teacher for Survey of Calculus. Amazing ability to teach math. i struggle in math and got an 87 on my first test. exams come directly from homework and a review sheet he posts prior to exam. took him in summer A. wonderful, helpful, nice guy.
I withdraw and many people from his class withdraw.It was hard for me but you have a big advantage in his class he let you use the calculator instead formulas and he is even available in math lab to help his students.Tests questions are same from homework but he made them tricky and way harder to confuse you. I rather recomend Bonnie Meanley.
It is a difficult class and requires a lot of studying (I lived in the math lab) but he is very fair with your final grade. He lets you use the calculator as much as possible and doesn't make you do the algebra to simplify. I'll definitely take him for statistics.
There were 30 kids in my class and 16 withdrew. He is a good teacher you just have to pay attention and do the homework although he doesn't collect it. He also has a temper so don't ask him to review the review questions or he will flip out. Lets you use a calculator which was the best part.
I don't know where people think this teacher is great. I studied 30-40 hours per week!!! AND falied every test! I studied so much that the next semester I repeated calculas and did not study and fot an A!!! I think he doesn't teach well in class and his tests are nothing compared to his notes. I do not recommend him at all!!!
Horrible teacher. I got my first D in my whole life from him. He knows his math really well but is not good at teaching it. When students asked questions, he would come back with replys like "well looks like you didnt do your homework". Embarrasses students.. dont take him!!
Professor pick is a horrible teacher. Ask questions and he looks at you as though you're stupid. Although you may have learned something in a previous chapter, don't 4get it, cause if you do and you ask him to review it, he'll make you feels worthless and dumb. RUN!!!!!!!! FAST!!!!!! I took his class this past summer, I wouldn't recommend doing that! This guy def.knows stats but he expects everyone 2 understand the material right away. He went through about 3 chpts per day at a very fast paste. Avoid him if you can! 70% of the class dropped it, and the 1s who stayed didnt pass!
Avoid this professor! He knows his stuff but he makes the class complicated. I took this clss over the summer and had to drop it. Almost 70% of the students withdrew from it, and only a few who stayed passed. He went over about 3 chpts. a day. Find someone easier!
knows his statistics. be sure you have a graphing calculator because that is his favorite thing in the world.he loves stats and is very enthusiastic about it. homework is not required or checked, but it really helps. this is one of those classes that you don't REALLY NEED the book.
I never write review for any prof. but I will write this one b/c he's not a bad teacher. Statistic is different kind of math from what we learned. Don't expect to understand immediately. If you TRY to understand it, then it will make sense. You CAN ASK him after class if you don't want to look dumb in front of class. SAT score doesn't mean anything
Pick is a great teacher! Alot of notes, but the notes are the exams just w/ different numbers. Alot of people miss calss, and complain their not doing good.You CAN NOT miss class,theres too much info. you'll miss. He offers plentiful hours that he's in the math lab. He will explain until you get it. Must put in the time to study! I recommend him!!
He is not a good professor at all. He goes in circles and I couldn't understand what he was talking about. Relating the notes to the homework was difficult. I took this in a 6week summer course and got a D. I retook the class with another professor and my final average was a 99. He is not clear and thinks he is the best statistics professor ever.
Not a good teacher at all! He makes it seem like just doing the HW will be enough, well not true! His tests are ridiculous! 70% of the class drop him, he makes stats more difficult than what it is.
Know and love your TI83/84 calculator. When he says something is on the test, he's not messing around or saying it just for fun - KNOW HOW TO DO THE PROBLEM!
Horrible teacher. He refuses to slow down and he tries to cram everything in so you are non stop writing. By the time you finish taking the notes down he is already done explaining it. Smart guy but he has NO idea how to teach. even when I scheduled one on one time with him, he still refused to slow down, and mocked me if I didnt know something.

This professor tells exactly whats gonna be on the test. Dont listen to all the other idiots. This guy is great. You have to study the material to pass. He Tells you every question that will be on the test and the rest is up to you. Great teacher.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had. If you do not do well, he automatically attributes your low grade to a lack of studying. He overloads you with so much material for one test it is impossible to know it all. Questions that students have are an inconvenience. Am an A/B student and had to withdraw because I was failing..DO NOT take!

This guy is delusional if he thinks that he teaches well. While I was taking the 1st test, I quickly knew that I would bomb it because I just didn't understand most of the stuff on it. Apparently I wasn't alone because 80-90% of the class also FAILED horribly! The next class he tried to explain how it "WASN'T his fault". Don't even bother with him.
This guy is so difficult he makes the course harder than it has to be. The class started with 37 students and is ending with 10. He hates when you ask questions and swears you only need 20 minutes for each test or you didn't study. I studied and went to the math lab and need a miracle to pass the class. Don't waste your time with this guy!

I have to agree with the last reviewer you will be there till 9:45pm, 99.99999% of the time. Took during summer A at PBSC.He has a tendency to make you feel dumb when you ask him questions but he tells you up front that he won't answer questions and will tell you to refer to your notes!

This guy is totally unhelpful and lacks in people skills. He made a girl cry in my class then did nothing to even consul her. You have a chance at passing if you are already good at stats. Get ready to write 7-8 pages of notes for the 3 hour class.
I learned a lot and would take again! Professor is straightforward, very organised and clear. Quite helpful, available 4 ?'s and concepts; won't repeat lecture. Tests from extensive amt of clear lect notes,no surprises.U learn to use TI84 : ) Helpful files on his site incl reviews. You will earn your grade. 4hr 1 x wk,12 wk class was challenging

Professor Pick did all he could to help us. Met with me before every class to answer questions,all examples given in class were on the tests,hard calculations done through TI/83-84 calculator. Hard subject matter made comprehensible. Very thankful to him for being so available and helpful.
Probably the most simple and useless class I've ever taken. Teaches at an elementary school level, simple probability (flip a coin once, what's the chance you get heads?). Take this class if you can handle having common sense explained to you. Don't bother trying to ask questions, he will give a rude and useless answer.
Worst professor i have ever had he took simple things and complicated them to the best of his abilities .you're paying for classes not only for credits but to learn and be helped he just tells you refer to your notes "statistics tell me that 1/3 of you will fail this class" according to HIM. Absolutely terrible class. A quick outline of the class: you are required to buy a $120 calculator.He doesnt answer questions. He doesn't use the textbook to learn from. 3 reasons to take this class are, You want to donate money to the school, you want to fail in life, and if you want to waste your time.
I took combined class, and was so hard, he goes fast, he just take all the material from his books and notes, he doesnt make questions clear, was terriblee! I got so stressed with this class and almost all of us were failing
His class is not that easy. All he grade is testes which the points are high like for example 140. Doesn't give extra credit . Alway telling a joke like they suppose to be funny. He goes fast with notes which it's hard to catch up. You would have to study more often to pass the test. He has a little accent sometime it's hard to pay attention.
This class is really easy if you just do your hw and don't complain... Students usually don't ask questions in class but when they do he answers them. Really enjoy that he makes the class interesting by making you think "why" and "how" about things. Overall he's awesome and probably gets down with the smeezy
This professor should not be teaching,he has no patience and assumes you know the material. If you dare ask a question he will embarass you in class and will not be clear with his answer. If math and stats are not your forte, DO NOT take his class, his problems are not from the book, so the math lab will not be able to help you.
If math is not your strongest subject, this is not the professor to take. He does give reviews and will go over problems briefly, but is not very user friendly. If statistics is a strong point or you have really good memory and are willing to access the professor during his office hours, you have a pretty good chance of passing.
Not easy unless you have a SUPER solid foundation of math. He gives a few definitions, a dozen examples, and then moves on. Thats it. Doesn't review homework in class. Skips around chapters like crazy. Only teaches "tips and tricks" since this class is like "a game." If math has always been hard for you, do not take- even if he's the only one left.
He is not interested in helping the students, he just runs through whatever chapters in the textbook and thinks everyone understands all the concepts he just rushed through. He will tell you to go to the math lab, very careless and uninterested about students education, he wont help you or even attempt to see how you are having difficulty.
This teacher says he wants to help, but when you ask questions he makes a person feel stupid. I'm a returning student and received A in MAT0018& MAT0028 by doing homework, studying and teacher's help. This teacher is not helpful I do not recommend this teacher.
Professor pick is a nice guy and is willing to help you when needed. His teaching style seems different but as long as you study, review notes and get help when you're lost then you'll be fine
nice guy, his way of teaching is different, he would explain the simple problems in a more complex way. There are 4 tests that are graded out of a high number, for example 13. If you are someone that is not good at math then this is not the professor you would want to take I'm just being honest
When I needed additional clarification or a question answered so I could get that 'a-ha' moment on how to solve a problem, I received a belittling and condescending reply. Also he does not manage his time well and spends too much time chatting it up with students on the Blackboard email regarding web browsers instead of grading course assignments.
He goes over the material but goes way too much in depth for a simple problem, he will end up confusing you. If you ask a question he will usually not answer it and just tell you to look at your notes or says you should have been paying attention. At the end of my semester about 2/3 of the class was gone. dont recommend him.

First of all, Do not take this class if its the last one you see. I regret taking this guy and wish i knew about rate my professor before i took his class. Second attempt at Intermediate algebra and will be passing with an A. This teacher is not easy though. He has a teaching style which is different but it works. The problem is he is rude (he thinks he is funny) and will make you feel stupid for asking questions. Almost putting the people down. Cant recommend him to anyone after he did this to me.

Mr. Pick isn't a bad teacher. If you can follow along with how quickly he goes then you're good. He doesn't grade homework, but if you don't do it then you WILL be behind and forget everything you learned. He offers help so if you don't take it, that's on you. He's a decent teacher, I got a C b/c of my own slack.
He's horrible. He's rude and has insulted me many times. He's smart but loves to brag about being better than other professors. I'm an education major and he cannot teach at all. I have a TI-89 but he refused to teach me how to use it for stats and told me to go buy a $120 TI-84. Calculus was easier than this class. You've been warned.
Mr. Pick Is a horrible teacher. He is very sarcastic. He is very smart, but it is hard for him to get his point across. He teaches very quickly and moves on to the next section very fast. If you ask a question, he will make you feel like the dumbest person in class. If you do the homework and get help from somebody else, you might have a chance of passing. Once you start using the calculator, he will teach it very quickly and if you get an error, he will tell you to figure it out and won't help you.
Nice guy! He really enjoys teaching statistics. Sorry to say this yall but statistics is gonna be hard regardless which professor you take. He's not able to simplify more complex concepts but he's the nicest guy in the world with the best intentions and really is honestly tried to help as much as he can. I'm persistent so even when he didn't answer my questions in the forms that I understood, I emailed him again, again , met up, until I finally got it. Tests weigh HEAVY! 75% of grade

Professor Pick is a really great teacher. I think this class is just a hard class in general which makes people mad, I am in his online Statistics class and the way he has the lesson plans and crunch it set up really makes Statistics easier than I thought it would be. He's really nice, took the time to meet with me and responds to e-mails quickly

He makes you look like an idiot if you ask a question and tries to get you to answer it yourself. There's no other grades apart from the 5 tests all semester. if you fail 2 tests, you're done for. Professor Pick is an awesome teacher! Statistics is a class in which you have to put effort in to pass. He is there for you, he always responds to emails, and he's just a nice guy overall. If you pay attention in class, you'll be fine. I would recommend to anyone to take his class.
Math is hard, but he is a good teacher. Show up to class, take notes, do the HOMEWORK!! Its not high school, if you need help show up for his office hours or go see a tudor. Go to calcchat dot com for the solution manual. DO YOUR HOMEWORK GET AN A.
Professor Pick is the best! He knows what he's doing and answers questions. Not just that, I've been going through tough health issues, major cardio thoracic surgery, plus intravenous therapies and he was there for me every step of the way. He's not just intelligent, his kind heart and patience made me learn the topic and not loose the semester.
Professor Pick is very nice professor but a very rude Canadian. He shows you all of these examples and he never uses the book at all in class. If you can't understand the lesson being discussed you better start reading that book because if you ask him one question he explodes and then blames you for "not studying". He might be good for you though.

You should take him if you honestly in your heart study. Studying is key to pass his class he reminds you every single day and offers help during his office hours. I never studied so let me tell you, its not easy. But he isn't a bad teacher, all u have to do to pass is show up to class, take good notes, and above all study.

He is a nice teacher. He explains really well, He gives you concepts and examples, that really helps me to understand the concepts. I think did a good job teaching. it's just that sometimes he is a little bit rude, but I think that's ok. He helps you on the test, as long as you do the homework and study the notes he give it to you, you will get A.

Pick taught math labs for 5 classes. Each class instructor taught their own class and did not cover the same material. However, Pick gave an EOC test on what he thought was important. He tested us on material that we had never been exposed to or taught. When I asked he told me it was my fault for choosing the wrong teacher. Only wrong here is him
Does not answer any questions and will make you feel dumb for even attempting to ask anything during class (his answer is always "its in your notes"). His tests are very hard and he will not help you understand what you did wrong after the test even if you ask for it. The worst math teacher I've ever had and would not recommend anyone to take him.

I took Pick online. Everything is worth 100 points, the tests, discussions, and homework. All tests are multiple choice. Not a great teacher but not that bad. Lets just say If there's a better teacher take them instead.

Will help if asked for, he's not clear when explaining how to solve a problem. I have never had a problem with math before. I got one hundreds on the homework and practice tests on mymathlab, but his tests are some of the hardest ones I've ever taken

I see why so many say he is rude or abrasive, but he really does give you everything you need to pass the class. Dont miss class, do the homework (which is not much), and study for the tests and you will pass. Your only grades are the 4 tests. He is big into the calculator, which I had never used, but he made it easy.
This instructor is beyond awful. His office hours are not conducive to the career person who needs assistance. His online help is "re read the instructions, re work the practice problems until you get the right answer, and do the problem" He is not an instructor by any means of the word. Prof. Pick emphasizes the importance of studying LITERALLY everyday that you are in his class. I am not horrible at math but I had an extremely difficult time. Never goes back to clarify the things he teaches, constantly cuts you off & tells you to look at your notes when you ask questions. Do yourself a favor and don't take his course.

Took his statistics class and college algebra, I do not regret taking him at all. Lectures can get boring as he tries to do 2-3 topics a day, however I enjoyed his class. Take him if you feel VERY comfortable with algebra and math, if you dont he might not be the right professor for you.
Everyone I know has told me how easy statistics is, but this professor makes it as hard as possible. Does not answer questions, makes tests harder than they need to be. Class started with 30-35 students, ended with 11 because everyone dropped. Do not take this professor.
Excellent professor. Do not listen to anyone who gives him a bad rating. I failed his class the first time I took it because I barely studied and did not do my homework. If you don't do this you will fail, I promise. The second time I took his class I ended up with an A. He teaches everything step by step too, what more could you ask for?
This class is hard to begun with it's not an easy math class or subject. The professor on the other hand does not answer your questions throughly, if you email him be prepared for him to not give you a straight answer. The tests aren't the same as the homework lessons so there are hard questions and some that weren't the even given in the lessons.
He goes step by step on how to solve problems & teaches you how to compute probabilities/distributions on a calculator instead of having to do it all by hand. Re-read your notes before class, it'll help you get extra credit during lecture. Homework not required but do it if you want a good grade. Statistics is not easy, you need to put some effort!
When I first got to his class i read all the bad reviews and thought the people writing were lazy and wanted a easy A. However after taking his class I realized I wrong i was, the tests are graded very difficultly, in fact he even says if you do the test in another way than his you get no CREDIT for the questions. Avoid this class for math.
I took him for Statistics. He is passionate about he does and he really wants his students to pass in life as a whole. He will speak out when the students don't study. Its not hard to pass his class its just you have to study and earn it. He writes very fast-paced on board in the beginning, but after awhile you'll get used to him and be a pro.
I was surprised at all the negative reviews. He is a really cool guy and keeps you engaged the entire class. First half of class is lecture, last half is doing a worksheet. For me, the worksheets REALLY helped me learned the info. Very attentive and eager to help during the lab portion of class. He does move very quickly, however.
The tests are all written response. Its taken more than 3 weeks for him to give back a test.
Worst professor ever... please if you want to pass in statistic don't take this class with this professor. His tests are really really really really really hard. When you try to ask him something about the class, he just answer if he wants to. He is so disrespectful with the students in general.
Really does not deserve such bad reviews. He teaches everything step by step and gives good real-life examples. I truly do not see why nobody likes him. He's easily one of the best professors I've taken and thanks to what I learned with him I have done well in my later business courses. Do the homework and study, that's the key to pass.
Pick is a knowledgeable teacher and helpful as well, personally i didnt like intermediate algebra, but i still managed to pass with a C. He is passionate about math and will teach you if you apply yourself. His style is somewhat normal of teaching, not a summer class
This class was really challenging, and I had to put in MANY hours a week just to finish all the homework on StatLab and do discussion posts! Tests are very challenging, and he really is not much help if you email him with a question. For example, the tests are hard to locate online, and when I emailed him about it he told me to figure it out myself
Statistics is not so much about mathematical abilities but about common sense. Not an easy A, but Pick gives you the clearest expectations. Homework is easy. You MUST use your calculator (thank god). As he teaches, he tells you This will be on the test. You will get tired of him telling you its in your notes! But it really is in your notes.
Teacher was so rude. I almost cried on my first day of class. He made me feel so stupid in front of the whole class. Cannot ask him questions. He will call students out and embarrass them. I feel very uncomfortable in this class. He acts like a know it all. He thinks his way is always right. I would never recommend this teacher.
This is not just a math class. This professor requires a lot of participation in discussions (way too much writing for math). You are self taught. Read the book (which doesn't help) and do the homework. Everything that I learned I googled and got off of you tube, even had to go as far as getting a tutor and I love math.
if Youre not the best at math and youve never been in a statistic class please do not take this teacher. He is very difficult, he answers every question with sarcasm and pretty much tells you that its in your notes. His test are hard I am not exaggerating. Hes rude and pretty much makes the class uncomfortable. I wish i Never took his class.
Professor Pick is very clear on his expectations. That being said, I would not recommend taking him if you do not have a solid foundation in algebra. If you don't understand what he's saying, ask him then and there or else he won't want to answer it later.
Very patient, funny and chill teacher. A lot of notes, and online homework on my mathlab. As long as you keep up with homework and do the reviews before tests the class isnt hard. He teaches a bit fast pace but he is very patient with his students and answers many questions in class, as long as you arent scared to ask any.
If math is not your best subject, do not take this professor! He is very difficult and his tests seem almost impossible to pass.
He's very solid when it comes to teaching. His test is what you take notes on, and if you are unsure about what he taught in class, you're more than welcome to practice on the MyMathLab. If you can achieve an 80 - 90% on my math lab, you'll easily achieve the same grade as his test. If anything, MyMathLab is harder.
This is a class to just get through. Professor gets off on yelling at students and making them feel less than. Homework is easy, tests arent bad (as long as you take notes).. its just dealing with his horrible attitude. This man just loves to bully students. Always uses the phrase "unbelievable" in a sarcastic, derogatory manor. Be happy :)
A very interesting teacher, Prof. Pick is very tough and at times can seem very very rude. His attitude is what turns the majority of people off and causes them to become disinterested in the material. If you can, however, get over his attitude he's a very good teacher and is very knowledgeable about his topic and goes into great detail.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. WELL IF YOU WANT TO FAIL GO AHEAD.

by far hardest prof ever. I suggest you take another prof if you want to pass. He is available after class in his office hours (sometimes), the time on his syllabus did not match his actual office hours. material was hard, and he did not make it easier.
The most unhelpful teacher I've ever encountered. My class started with about 18 people, by the end of the semester I was one of 6. I would not recommend this professor too anyone that is trying to learn math, he has zero patience and respect for the PROCESS of learning!
Professor Pick is very straightforward with the course learning outcomes at least for STA2023. I took his class in 2017 and the tests and practice materials were on his page on PBSC to study for. If you're not very good at math, make sure to study for his exams, go over the examples, and ask him questions DURING the lecture or he won't answer.
his bad attitude comes from lack of patience and frustration with students . In a nutshell the class is laid out from the home work to the online supplementary handouts to the online test reviews and extra practice. For this class you must review your notes regularly if not daily. Most do not know how to properly study or do not keep up and drop
This professor was nice and he taught the material in an understandable way, but he did not give students a chance to get better grades he would just tell us to read the notes. His tests were difficult if you didn't fully grasp the lecture. He also would make us stay after tests for a 45 minute lecture.
College is not easy. It's a lot of hard work. So, about Professor Pick, he is just doing his job. I respect him despite of the bad reviews he'd received. He's always on time. He's always ready to teach. You must passed & understand other math subjects before taking this class or you will not have a clue what's going on.
This class was so well-organized and easy! He tells you what is on the test. The key is to read his lessons and do the practice questions. All the answers are in the book. He also responds quickly to e-mails if you need help with a concept. He clearly outlines how to solve the questions using the technology (StatCrunch). The Exams are fair!
Prof. Pick's tests are NOT multiple choice which was difficult for me. Homework and three exams with a final; you can ONLY use your notes for the final exam. I like how we use the TI-84 calculators for the course; it's literally a short cut from doing those hard formulas. If your horrible at studying and non-muliple choice tests, dont take him.
Dont recommend him for trig. Didn't know how to teach and would get mad whenever someone asked him a question. He was always rude.
Rude, Disrespectful, Uncaring, impossible standards, when everyone in the class didnt understand the topic he failed to realize he was the problem and said that the ENTIRE class didnt study properly. I DO NOT KNOW how I ended up with an A.(chegg) This is literally the most difficult class I have ever taken. The lectures were long and boring, confusing, the professor was rude and condesending. Regardless, I powered though. When you get to the exam. The millions of homeworks and lectures have nothing to do with the questions. Do not take this.
I took this class online during covid. Ask him to repeat himself and he catches an attitude (unprofessional). He teaches through POWERPOINTS, no step-by-step! I don't like how he does not have a course schedule where you can put yourself ahead. The hws are announced at the end of class so if you miss a day, goodluck.
This professor is the worst Ive had. He doesnt take his time with chapters, the week of a quiz he will continue to teach material that will not be on quizzes which cause confusion. he zooms straight through chapters. Does not give a quiz review before tests. Does not go over completed quizzes. Is opposed to going over the quizzes in class.

My advisor suggested I take this class, I REGRET! I took this class online, and he had been extremely rude to me and is extremely blunt with his responses. The homework he assigned was more than all of my other classes combined, and if you miss a day- YOU FAIL! He should not be a teacher in my opinion- avoid at all costs if you care about yourself
Professor Pick is an easy professor. Attendance is not mandatory and if you're good at math you won't really need to attend. He grades on few things and he can be a bit rude when you ask questions he already answered but overall I would recommend him.
I took this class online and had no issues. As long as you complete all the readings and keep up to date with the assignments, it is very manageable. The tests questions are similar to the homework which makes studying easier.
Negative teacher, often emits cruelty to students creating a negative teaching atmosphere doesnt make things clear doesnt answer questions. Pratice tests are not like actual tests. You will fail this class. This professer will stress you out like crazy.

I took him online and this was the most unorganized class i have ever done. You will drown in homework assignments and they are always due different days of the week which can be really confusing. There are usually about 4-5 assignments each week, and he doesnt allow any late work. Barely got a B in the class.
DONT TAKE HIM! Spends too much time telling you what not to do, instead of telling you what you need to do. I think he has anger issues. Says the say thing over and over again to bore you. Got mad when only 2 out of his 30 students passed one of his tests. The homework is the only thing that was easy but didn't help with the tests we had to take.
I had to drop this class because I missed a test and he didn't wanna let me make it up because I didn't have documentation so I had no choice. He is lecture heavy and explains things but when you have a question 9 times out 10 he responds rudely and tries to make you sound dumb. The class is passable but you gotta work very hard for it,not worth it
Prof. is a narcissist! Criticizes the book author everyday. He is VERY rude to students and does not care if you feel offended. In order to pass this class with a decent grade he makes you watch the recordings everyday (LECTURE HEAVY). So if you work, have kids, own a business DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He will never change & PBSC will never fire him.
The professor expects you to learn using the textbook, but aside from definitions it really didn't help much. I found that YT videos were easier to understand how to use StatCrunch to work out solutions. His tests aren't exactly like the HWs either, so you're going to have to do a lot of studying to understand information. Not horrible, though.
DONT do this to yourself. You wont pass this class. I dedicated 10 hours studying for this class and rewatching video none of the material adds up. This class is not made for you to succeed.
Very debilitating class. You will have a psychotic break. You will not pass.
This professor a caring teacher. If you genuinely try in this class, you can do well. Mr. Pick makes sure of that. If you ask, he ALWAYS answers questions and tries to make sure the student understands. Homework and tests are very fair. He seems like he might be a little uptight at first, but he truly is gracious, even to students who screw up.
I understand why most people don't like Pick, but all I can say is that he was very straight forward with me and he was very helpful when I needed him. I have not had any difficulties in math ever since I took him as a professor. He is seriously misunderstood, he will care for you as long as you show him you care.
I chose this teacher due to limited options, but I regretted it. He's rude and aggressive, only uses PowerPoints, and barely covers homework topics. Be prepared to teach yourself everything. The tests and homework are on Pearson, but don't take him.

Professor Pick can be a tough grader, but the class is manageable with consistency. Engage with the material, use Unstuck study for study prep, and you'll likely do well.

This professor is incredibly rude and shames his students by mocking them. I took him because all the other professors had bad ratings but I regret it he's not accommodating or understanding at all and will mock you.

I have a lot of respect for Mr. Pick and how organized he has made the course. He is always on top of grades and communication with students who reach out for anything. I LOVED how he intuitively derives concepts and explains real-world applications. Pay attention to lectures and revise material regularly and you should do well :)
I couldn't understand this professor at the beginning of the semester. He can be very rude. Most times, there is homework after each class, which is due the next day. The homework isn't long and has unlimited tries. Study for his test in groups

Hes not super good at teaching, hes very rude and not helpful if you dont understand something the first time His response to anyone asking to remind them of or needing help with something he already went over is always "watch the recordings" or "this is why you need to study" Id give 1/5 but hes pretty funny sometimes so bonus points
If you take this class, you'd better PRAY you know someone who is good at math. Joseph Pick does reply to emails, but he will always say " Go back and watch the Recordings." Honestly, the reason I passed is that GOD got me through and the people who helped me study. I had him live online and we were allowed open notes, overall just PRAY, good luck!
I chose him due to the few positive RMPs. He is underrated, and initially and throughout the course, everything is an eyesore and complex or too wordy. A great tool he provides is his video recordings of every class. Those recordings are a lifesaver, great study tool, and can clarify everything he says. Recommend: Watch videos at 2x with captions.
I don't know why he got so much hate here! I thought he was so funny. His lectures were easy to follow along and review; I was able to make good notes during class time and didn't even have to go over it again later. HW had unlimited attempts, test was easy enough and I never got below a 90. Honestly had fun in his class sometimes!
