Mr. Rzeppa is so great! He really knows what he's talking about and tells personal and interesting stories about figures in history. If you love History, this is a good class. The textbook is unnecessary.

Uses only exams for grading. 3pts/question, 30pt essay, one pt is free. Exam questions come from notes, none from the book, answers may not be there, it's not needed for this course. He'll show Elvis during 1301, and the Godfather during 1302. He gives a study guide one wk before each exam, you only need to take notes on those topics from then.

Awesome Professor, everything on test is in his lectures, he allows you to record his lectures, you don't need the textbook so don't buy it, just take good notes and it should be an easy A......

Hands down, one of the best professors I've ever had. He is very clear with his lectures, as long as you take good notes and pay attention you'll do great. All the test he gives are covered by all his lectures. He shows funny movies to keep the class interesting. He is also a huge TCU fan. I highly recommend you take this class.

No book necessary. No homework. Lectures are slow, sometimes funny. Tests are actually worded difficultly, so I think his tests are kind of hard. Class is mandatory in order to get all the notes. Good study guide given. I would recommend the class.

I love Mr Rzeppa. He is caring as the others have said. He even helped me personally on a legal matter as he is a registered lawyer. So he is articulate, knows how to lecture without getting you bored, and tests are easy and gives a review for exactly what's on the test. Don't buy book just go to class. Professor Rzeppa is a great professor. I've also attended his 1301 class. As many have mentioned, he has made the class simple by giving only lectures-no book and gives a handout a week before the test so you can study what you need to know. There are only 4 tests which contain 17 multiple choice questions, and an essay which is worth 30 points.

he is the kind of teacher who will get down on his students level, he won't act superior then you. He doesn't use books, and only does lectures. GO to his lecture, you don't want to miss what he says, it just might be in the test. his lectures are fun, and informative, not boring. the tests is easy:17 questions and a small essay portion.

His class is very easy, he only makes you take his test & gives extra credit. No other assignments. His lectures are interesting bcs they are over things that you want to know about history-not boring. Attend and take notes as his tests are completely off them. Took him for HIST I and II. Greatness! He's a bit corny but I learned so much! If you can get past the goofy movies everyday in the summers. I def rec him! But MAKE sure you record him..and can take FAST notes by hand, too! No book req'd but if he says it, it WILL be on the test!!

One of the best professors anyone could ask for. He understands life circumstances and is very flexible when it come to testing arrangements. He cares about his students and wants them to be successful. He doesn't give "lectures" but tells stories instead. PowerPoints mainly use for pictures and not note taking. Book was not used at all.

Made the material super easy to learn. I had taken History 1 before and could not remember or follow along with what the professor was saying, but this time around it was a breeze. Book isn't needed and the tests are multiple choice with one essay that you know prior to the test.

TAKE professor Rzeppa for but 1st and 2nd American History courses. If you have trouble and go talk to him he WILL HELP!!! You don't have to buy the book for his class but he tells you that the first day. Also he is not limited to the number of A's he can give out. He did mention that at some campus back in the day they did that to him but not now

Cool professor. He's super laid back and knows the material. I made a C but that's because I never went to class. He doesn't mandate that you come to class but you'll probably do poorly if you don't. His tests are specific to his lectures, so go to class, take notes and you'll definitely make an A.

The best and easiest you can take for History. Easy class if you go to class and take notes. He hints out test questions during lectures at TR Campus. Other campuses you can tell if he talks more in debth about the topic. Receive a Study guide before each tests which is multiple choice with a short essay. Easy A if you try unlike me

This professor is awesome! His power point presentations are basically everything you need to know about the tests so there's no book required. He gives great lectures incorporating his love for TCU. He gives a review for questions and you get to memorize an essay topic to write for tests. He plays movies which might can be used for extra credit. I strongly encourage him. If you can't take notes, osmosis is good.

Professor Rzeppa gives great but long lectures, so get ready to take lots of notes. His class consists of 4 exams, which are pretty easy if you go over the topics in the review he gives. He plays a few movies, in which he lets you do a paper over and use for extra credit. He managed to make it easy and fun to learn history! I highly recommend him!

There is one thing about Rzeppa would need to know before you take his class. HE LOVES the TCU FOOTBALL TEAM! He tells all his lectures with a long story, accompanied by pictures on slides. Just listen clearly to his lectures and would will ace his tests. Take good notes. You watch about 6 movies in class. Just take him, you wont regret it.

He gives you a review of the information on his tests. The final in his course is just the most recent information given. Every test there is a small writing assignment. There is a chance for extra credit, but he will not speak of it unless he is asked about it.

I took this class during the first summer session. After reading through reviews on here I went ahead and registered for this class while working full time. You need to show up to class and take notes, and you will for sure pass. No homework, just three exams. This is the professor you want to take for your history class! Very understanding.

Had Rzeppa as a 8 week course! Very laid back. Your homework is studying for fairly easy exams. As long as you're there and you study the material he gives you(which is very clear) you should make an A. Gives out extra credit and a easy-to-read study guide. Does NOT require a textbook or post information online other than grades.

Rzeppa is an awesome professor! I took his 8 week course so his lectures were really long, however he made class interesting, and every now and then would play movies. Has really easy tests and grades easy too. Wore my Batman shirt one day and he acknowledged it, so I guess he is a fan. He is a really big TCU fan too so wear purple on test day!

Prof. Rzeppas class was cool but im a history buff. If you dont do well with lecture find a class that isnt 3 hours long. Take notes and you will pass his class. If you miss you will fail. Lecture notes are crucial for his tests. Otherwise his class was cool.

Great lectures. I took his HIST II as a Summer I course. Very straight forward. All testing material is provided in lecture. Book is not needed. You can tell he loves History, therefore he teaches it well. I found myself talking history to people at work and with family. It was all interesting, and I wish I could have taken him for History I.

Rzeppa has been my favorite professor in college yet & I've always dreaded history class. Tests are less than 20 questions & one essay, gives direct study guide the week before, just show up & take notes & its an easy A. Took him for History 1301 and this is the 2nd time I'm rating this professor and my opinions haven't changed. He's still the best professor around for History. He still makes it fun and enjoyable to learn. I'm morose that I won't be attending any more of his spectacular lectures. I wish he taught all subjects. Easy tests, take good notes, worth it!

Taking him currently for Fall 2016. TAKE HIM. TAKE HIM. TAKE HIM. No outside requirements. Show up to class, take notes, and read them over before the test. Only 4 tests and no final. There is 16 multiple choice questions and an essay (which you pick from many options) and HE COVERS THE ANSWERS TO EVERY ONE IN DETAIL. Just LISTEN!

I took him for 1301 eight week course. almost always let out early. No daily work or quizzes. Just Three exams with study guides. Each exam has an easy essay (you choose your topic). Offers extra credit!! You'll get an easy A if you just show up and go over the study guide. Easiest class I've ever had! He's hilarious too. Also, he won't drop you if you don't come to class.

This professor in the best hist 1301 that I've taken and I've dropped 2 others before him. His lectures are very interesting and his study guides are spot on. Anything on the exam will be in your notes so listen when he speaks. He is funny and interesting which makes lectures easy to pay attention.

greatest teacher ever! he is very chill an loves his students. class is powerpoints and writing down what he says about them. thats it. 4 test with like 20 multiple choice question and an essay about a subject of your choosing. it can literally be a paragraph long, and the multiple choice is not on 882 E because he doesn't trust scantrons. lol best

He'll seem quiet and slow at first, but he has a sense of humor. His lectures are basically stories, and he'll emphasize on the points you need to know for the tests, which consist of UP TO 23 questions, and an essay on your choice of topic. Show up to every class (!!!), do research the night before the test, and you should make your A. Great prof.

He is the best professor I have had, I took him for History 1301 and History 1302. You do not need the textbook and you have no homework. Just 4 exams that are all multiple choice with an essay. If you study you'll get an A, he gives out study guides that go right along with the exam.

This class was pretty easy but he talks very soft. Showed a lot of videos, which is fine if you don't want to get anything out of the class. DO NOT NEED THE BOOK, he has powerpoints but they are ONLY pictures, so make friends so you can get notes on things you missed. Exams are short but you have to write an essay each exam.

Because this professor's lectures are so interesting, in part due to his humor, students seem to do very well. He is a local student favorite. I studied under him for a second semester, by choice. If he offered a third class, I'd enroll. One of the most enjoyable instructors thus far.

He never gave homework, he gives test reviews, he sometimes tells you during lecture what will be on the test. he has a really good sense of humor. he would got into DVD mode-- a.k.a. showing movies. if i were you, i would definitely take him for history 1302.

Rzeppa is an amazing professor! But if you are planning to major in something involving history, I would not recommend. His tests are extremely easy, very short essay and 17 questions (normally fewer questions). He's very easy for the credit, he covers everything that you need to know and nothing extra!

100% recommend. Only has test grades, and 4 of them at that. The tests are around 15-20 multiple choice and an essay. The final is non cumulative, it simply serves as the last test. All you have to do is show up, take good notes, make some friends to help you study and you'll get an easy A. Shows a lot of movies and is really funny.

Its 2020, I am taking a Govt class with a teacher that is very bad and just made me remember how good I had it with this professor. He is a very good teacher funny and doesn't try to make the class impossible to pass. He understands that were not trying to be history majors we just wanna do a lil work, but not too much and pass.

He is a wonderful professor. He gives 4 exams for the semester and that is all he gives. Plus, he gives you a review for each exam. there is no reason not to get an A in his class. He gives Powerpoint lectures, but he makes them fun and entertaining. I am grateful that I get to have him again next semester for Hist. 1302. He is a great guy.

Professor Rzeppa is just an amazing teacher in general. He had in-depth interesting lectures that go over exactly what will be on the test. He would always give us interesting historical facts that made his class enjoyable, then at the end of the semester had us write them down for extra credit. a great teacher who is relatable and fun take him!

Took him for 1301 spring semester and 1302 in the 4wk course in the Summer. Had a great experience with him both times. He's very understanding, easy to reach out to and basically lays everything out for you to do. Easiest A ever, I don't know how anyone could possibly fail this class.

I took 2021SU-HIST-1301-51002: United States History I. Dr. Joseph Rzeppa is down to earth and was very responsive to my questions. This course was short and you have to put a lot of reading in order to succeed. It's not boring at all believe me I would read one chapter after another!

I loved this class because we only had like 3-4 assignments the entire semester and they were just 20 questions tests. He makes good lecture notes also but you can really skim through them and still pass the test easily. He even gives extra credit opportunities but you can make an easy A in this class.

Literally just do the 4 assignments that you have so much time for and youre good to go. Open note open book open everything. Not even proctored, you just email it to him when youre done and he emails back so fast. Good and timely feedback. The easiest history class you will ever take.

Very easy professor, should expect nothing lower than an A. His tests are based on his lectures, but his tests in general are very easy to study for as he provides all the questions on the test as we go through the lecture. Would 100% take again. Very rare to find a good professor like this again.

HES FUNNY !! I would definitely recommend this professor but you will need to attend to class because he gives out answers for the test. They are easy as well , but just attend to class and write down answers for the test and you should pass with a A+

Instructor Joseph Rzeppa is a spectacular instructor, he is a teacher who explains very well and encourages students to keep going and want to learn more, and he teaches you very well and does not Tangled like other teachers, this instructor motivates you and makes his lessons very interesting.

Professors Joseph's teaching patron is outstanding. Overall, he is an excellent professor.

Rzeppa has by far been my favorite professor in college so far. His lectures are not boring and he's funny. His class is easy and you shouldn't get anything less than an A. 10/10 wish I could had him again for 1302 History.

Professor Rzeppa is an amazing teacher if you're going to take History. He can be a bit strange at times, but his lectures are informative and he treats his class as less of a teaching area and more of a voluntary learning session. Don't take his online courses however since he's a pen and paper type of guy.

I took Hist-1301 as an 8-week course. We had two tests with reviews that had everything you need to know on them. He's a little off the wall at times, but super funny and caring. If I could have taken him for 1302, I would have. Take notes and study the review and you will get an A.

Professor Rzeppa is amazing. He makes it very possible to pass the class and makes the material convenient to remember for students. As someone who is not a huge history person, this class is great, memorable, and I learned a lot! Highly recommend.

If you have the opportunity to take his class, TAKE IT! He is one of the easiest professors you'll ever come across. He is very humble and sweet. He will work with you if you are having a difficult time or something isn't fitting in your schedule. Coming to class is very much encouraged if you want to pass his tests but his tests are fairly easy.

Professor Rzeppa is an engaging instructor who makes the class enjoyable. The tests are straightforward if you attend lectures and review the provided materials. unstuck AI was a great study aid alongside the class notes. Overall, an easy A-level course.

Professor Rzeppa is probably one of the easiest classes you will ever take! he is funny as well. He goes over a power point, and he makes up the test questions from the power point that hes askes the class if it should be on the test. So its important to go to class, or at least have someone to give you the questions. You should not fail his class.

Dr. Rzeppa is an exceptional instructor and one of the kindest individuals I've ever met. He is a gem. It has truly been a privilege to benefit from his mentorship. Sincerely the BEST history professor.

Took professor Rzeppa's class for the 2025 spring semester and let me just say, he is an amazing professor. Very knowledgeable and funny person. I really enjoyed his class and recommend him to anyone looking or needing to take HIST-1302.

Dr Rzeppa is a really good professor, took his summer class and all you really need to do is pay attention to the lectures. The exams are super easy as well. Overall 10/10 would take it again.
