Joe is the freakin' man. I loved the class, but found the subject matter to be pretty boring. Joe however, is a one of a kind professor. Joe Standridge gives lectures on individual taxation for 3+ hrs and he keeps the students awake by constant stand-up comedy. He explained difficult, wordy tax code concepts very well and did lots of examples on the board. He responds to emails very quickly and treats students with respect. Now I understand why the SSU accounting students love Joe.

Who ever said take STANNY instead is CRAAAAAAAAAAZY! I mean she is a nice lady and an ok teacher, but no where near as fun or nice or engaging as Standrige.

One of the best teachers I had ever had. I missed class twice and both times I was actually bummed I couldn't make it. He literally tells you what will be on the tests. If you go up and ask him questions during the test he will help you the best he can. I wish he taught more classes!

Probably the easiest 230A teacher. Standridge is not a unique teacher. 1 homework assignment a week from the book. class quizes. monopoly project at the end is worth alot.

He was a jokester in class and kept things interesting with his sense of humor. Despite him being a funny guy he still grades the tests hard - make sure you still study for tests because they are different from the few homeworks you have. Big Monopoly group project towards the end. Nice guy though.

If you have to take anyone for 230a he is your guy. Joe is the most helpful accounting teacher Sonoma State has to offer. Test are straight forward and mirror of his study guide. Class is easy. One online hw and quiz a week. Two tests and a final. Very friendly and personable. You MUST take him if you are considering accounting. He will help you learn more about accounting and is the man for getting students jobs. He is the leader of the Accounting Forum. He makes a passionless subject pretty ok. Tests are on scantrons.

If you are an accounting major or are thinking about it Joes class is a must. First test is hard and most bomb but it gets easier and Joe is really helpful.

Attendance is mandatory. Joe is a very funny jolly man. Taking notes is difficult as a result of him speaking quickly and not everything being on the board. I highly recommend studying old midterms. Final has been a take home the last 2 semesters.

I think he's a good teacher. His tests are open book and open note (you can bring ANYTHING in on paper, people used previous semester tests) but if you haven't studied you won't do well on them. They can be tricky. But, he makes the class interesting. I enjoyed it.

No homework, 2 midterms which will get pushed back a week if class gets too stressed, one group project (which he canceles class for you to work on it together during class time), a final. I took Joe for 230A as well he is the best professor at Sonoma! Helped me choose accounting as my Major. Individual tax can be a dry subject but Joe makes it interesting. Tax law just changed so learning previous tax law and current makes the class more difficult . He tells you what is going to be on the test they are open note.

We had 1 quiz and 2 tests. He is really likeable, but regarding the course there was barely any teaching whatsoever. We had less than 10 class meetings, which means that we had less than 10 hours of actual class time learning about tax the entire semester! I'm certain that no one failed because I had an 'A' on my final even though I wrote nonsense.

Joseph Standridge is a top-of-the line professor and very compassionate to his pupils. His class mainly consists of lectures and 3 exams, so you better have good test taking skills. His lectures are very interesting as he relates them to the real world and even adds quite a bit of jokes to the side. It's pretty hard to fail this class.

This professor really cared about all his students. He was really funny every time he talked. There are a few quizzes but you always take them as a group never by yourself. Some of the exams are hard but he let us use our notes to take the exams so they could've been a lot worse.
