Great teacher. Interesting lectures plus must read book. 6 Reading Quizzes and 3 Tests. One paper for outside reading assignment. Will give out extra credit if you email him.

Best history teacher I've ever had!! Very nice and helpful. He's really interesting and even funny at times. Doesnt give homework except reading but is still a really easy class to pass. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this class for anyone!

This teacher was by far the easiest and funniest of my teachers. I went all year without taking one page of notes and made a "A" There is no need to purchase the book because all his "Quizes" are online and you can simply "Google" the answers....You get about an hour per quiz so take them with a friend if you want. Gives test every 3 weeks EASY!!!!

I never read a page in the textbook, have taken notes in the class when i'm there, and make A's on his test. It's easy stuff considering he let's you use an index card on the test with any info you think you may need. Although his lectures can be a tad monotonousness, he's a good guy and will work with you personally if asked. I recommend him.

Online course - you MUST read,read, read in order to pass test, gives an hour to finish on test. Does not have a final test, its just the quizzes and test for the chapters you read. Make an effort to answer on assignments and you will pass. He will read all your answers. Semester is almost over and I have a B, but you must read.

He's super helpful, but you do have to ask for it. He worked with me when I was sick & missed a test. Yes, you have to read the text book in order to pass. He's very knowledgeable & loves the subject. Lectures are interesting. Uses videos & movies. We had to write one paper over a book. Tests & quizzes. Lots of easy grades.

Mr. Stromberg's is a very nice guy. Remember to meet him after class if you have any questions. His tests are easy once you studied but he compensates for the class if you fall short. I recommend him!!! I took both his HIST courses.

Took him for both HIST classes. Amazing at what he does and is very helpful. Interested in HIST or not he will make it a good class. VERY knowledgeable and very easy to pass if you do the work. Highly recommended.

Professor Stromberg is great! He is very passionate about his job and breaks down the context in a simple way that is still informative. The test are fairly easy as long as you do your work and study. This will defiantly be a class you enjoy whether you like history or not which i personally do NOT!Bottom line, he's a great teacher.

Took it online, he's an easy grader and makes it an entirely self paced class. 8 assignment and 1 test pretty much per month, and one paper for the whole semester. No final test. Nice guy. Only problem is you have to read to get a good grade but the online book isn't too expensive and it has an audio book which helps a lot.

They only thing is hard is the UNIT Exams. There are three Unit exams. I made 64,60 and 77. However, I made 90+ in my Journals, Primary documents, study plans and my paper. I passed his class with B. At the end, I learnt history.

We don't use the book but his notes and handouts are very helpful. He just gets easily distracted by my classmates questions/comments. Just show up and do your work on time.

He is a pretty cool guy no doubt ,but if you are the straight up lazy type who doesnt pay attention or take the class seriously then you will not do good. I got an A but because I put my all into that class.You will read the chapters every week and take a test and it. An be a lot of work the tests are all essay format,no multiple choice.

He is a wonderful professor. I wish I could have taken him in person! He makes you think outside the box, and does not judge you for whatever your opinion may be. Put in the effort, plain and simple. It's college people! The unit exams are long, and he knows that. Exams are not meant to be easy. His written assignment was interesting too. Take him!

He's an amazing person. His lectures are passionate and in depth, focusing on the hows and whys of history rather than just dates. He is extremely conscious of making you aware of the morally gray side of American History. Plenty of reading, but I just have the MHL read for me while I do other stuff. Take notes and do the online work, get an A.

One of the best teachers I''ve ever had. Easy Grader makes the lectures very interesting. If you display you have a good sense of the knowledge in the tests which are all essays 2-3 pages in a blue book then you will make an A on the tests for sure. Make sure you show up to class and he will like you especially if you are involved.

I loved Professor Stromberg! I HATED History prior to taking his course. Even though it was online, he really made it interesting! He made you think about history involving the actual people with feelings, not just boring facts and dates. I wish he was available for 1302! I would take him again in a heartbeat!

I took 1302 online, after having been out of school for 10 years. The class was easy, and split between 3 units. There was a secondary reader that required a 1200 (4-5 pgs) word essay. As far as grading goes, if you do the reading you will do fine when it comes to grading. It isn't rocket science, and the work reflects that.

Dr. Stromberg keeps the class engaged during his lectures. His lectures feel like a conversation rather than a monotone lecture. Easy A as long as you do your homework. The only people that failed in this class were immature people that expected a free A. Highly recommend him, he makes History interesting.

He is very good at making the lecture more interactive and entertaining. The class does require quite a lot of work, but you'll pass as long as you get it all done. He is very nice and very cooperative. The class is less about facts and more about your interpretation of events, so you do need to attend class and pay good attention. But, he's great.

He taught a semester at UHCL and I thoroughly enjoyed his lectures. More of a conversational lecturer, rarely used PowerPoint; wouldn't recommend if you aren't a good note taker. Weekly quizzes online, 3 major unit assignments, 3 essay style tests and 1 response paper. Pulls information from both the text and mostly lectures, don't miss class!

Dr. Stromberg's class was my favorite class freshman year! I took him for both 1301 and 1302 Honors History. His classes are set up as conversational lectures which are very engaging. Yes there's quite a bit of reading and writing, but for me it further enhanced my learning. I will miss this class I wish there were a 1303!

I took this class in the spring semester. He lets you use a flash card for your essay exams. All his exams are essays, but they are not bad if you use the flash card to your advantage. Everything else is simple. Don't skip class, participate during class, take notes, read the book, and study.

Professor Stromberg made history so easy. I took him for a minimester and it wasn't that bad. The worst part was the early morning classes. I hardly read the book, just skimmed them to write down my notes for the essay tests. Didn't try hard at all, and made an A in the class. Take him.

I just had this class online during the summer and i think thats why it was difficult to me, but not at all because I always had good grades lol, but it requires a lot of writing assigments of 300 words minimum, and one big paper of 1200 words minimum, but THE MORE you write better the grade, so try to always exeed the limit count! ^_^

Love Dr. Stromberg! His lectures are AWESOME! He lectures over the chapter of the week (so if you miss its in the book) and helps you view the history you thought you knew completely different so it is never boring! I would highly recommend! There is always reading to do, he keeps it interesting but not too difficult. LOVE his class!

I LOVE his lectures and his overall method of teaching. He truly cares about his students, albeit a bit tough, but it is worth it! You have one quiz due every week and a research paper due around November. However, he is willing to help you and is very interesting to speak to. Would highly recommend!

His lectures are fast. My advice is read the book. He is a bit nit picky on certain things. He pushes his political and social opinions in class too much. Passionate about his job. Genuinely cares about students. If you want an easy A choose another prof. He makes you earn your grade. No extra credit. Good choice for those who like a challenge.

I just took Stromberg's Honors course this semester. He was very easy going, his lectures were not boring, he was very funny and related with all the students well, but if you are one of those "lazy" students who expect to be babied and get an easy grade then I suggest you do not take his class, but you shouldn't expect that out of any class.

Prof Stromberg is a really solid instructor, as he has a good method of breaking down events into an easy-to-digest format. Really SJW'y, but very knowledgeable and willing to engage in discussion if you're not an idiot and can make salient arguments. Ask a lot of questions in class to cover as much as possible before exams.

Dr. Stromberg.. He is probably the best professor I have ever had. I took him for US History both semesters, and one was an honors class. He is really laid back and super understanding. There really is not much homework, just weekly quizzes and a paper or two. Over all he is AWESOME! (Also cute in a dad kind of way) But, my favorite!!!

He is very passionate about the material. He is funny and teaches from the heart, sometimes to the point that he can get off on tangents. Which is not necessarily a bad thing. Just make sure you stay up to date on the assignments. I would definitely recommend Dr. Stromberg.

(Honors class) A lot of homework, which made me a better student. When I was working, I was working for him! He took time out of his day for me, he does extracurricular activities with the students out side of class. He cares for his students. Dr. Stromberg is tough, but if you ask for help, he will guide you. Do all the homework, read, and try.

His honors class is pretty tough. 3 books were required. We had 2 essays that were major grades. Only had a midterm and final for test. There were reading quizzes over 2 books you had to read every Friday. He lectures but its not boring. He expects a good class discussion for honors class. If you do your work in a timely manner you will do fine.

I adore this professor! Thanks to him I can actually appreciate history. I could never focus on this subject and he made it interesting. Gives great feedback on discussions and papers you submit. Clear on what he expects and discussion board is important!

Despite the weekly quizzes, this class was really good. His lectures are great with his unique humor that I found enjoyable. Do the big papers and put forth considerable effort in the critical thinking assignments and you'll be just fine. I would defiantly recommend anyone to take his class :)

Dr. Stromberg is funny and wants you to think. Weekly quizzes, you can skim the book for answers. Two additional books to read one had monthly quizzes and the other had a paper (turn in early for EC). He related the past to the present in his lectures. TALK IN CLASS. 3 essay tests, answer all parts, he pretends to be a hard grader but is not.

Professor Stromberg was an excellent Professor. His feedback was always detailed and prompt. There is a lot of reading in his class, but that is to be expected. Don't just read what is assigned, but understand it, and think about it critically. If you do that, then this class will be an easy 'A'. The extra credit opportunities are plenty!

Dr. Stromberg is a really good teacher, but you have to show up to class and participate or you will not do well. Lots of reading, but the majority of the test information comes from his lectures. What I liked the most is that I actually learned something from him. Show up, participate in class, take notes, read at home- easy A.

Online class was hard but you can pass if you do all assignments. Do not miss any critical thinking assignments. Read, read, read. Oh and do the extra credit, it really helps. Dr. Stromberg is helpful and cares but you gotta work for that A.

Professor Stromberg was a great professor, but pretty liberal, and he allowed a lot of language in the class. There was a lot of reading (hard reading), and participation was mandatory. But as long as you try in the class and participate, you should be fine.

Professor Stromberg's online class has been the best one I've personally taken. The book you have to read outside of class is good, and you get 3 chances to take each quiz. He's very helpful with students when they have questions or issues submitting things. Reading is definitely mandatory, but if you work, you'll pass without issue.

A very witty and funny professor. His lectures are informative and entertaining. Don't be scared to participate, even if you answer a question wrong he'll steer you in the right direction. His tests are all essays. He truly tries to understand his students. Stromberg has most definitely been my favorite professor at San Jac so far.

Dr. Stromberg is a fantastic professor! I took his online courses 1301-1302. There are a lot of writing assignments. You will not pass if you do not do them. Responds to emails quickly, even at nighttime. He will help you understand the material, all you have to do is ask! Even though it was a lot of work, I will suggests having him!

I took Dr. Strombergs online class during a summer mini (3 weeks long). It was a very difficult class for me personally not because of the assignments themselves, but because there is so much to cover during the 3 weeks. I was working full time but for anybody with more time on their hands, this class should be easy. He isnt rude just honest.

After reading many reviews on Prof. Stromberg Ill be honest I was nervous but I just completed his course as a 3 week summer mini and I am very happy I took him for my own opinion of him. Yes its a lot of work and lots of reading but hello its a 3 week course! Hes great but not just going to hand you that A you have to work for it as you should!

I took him for Hist 1301 and 1302, easiest class ever. If youre a history major or you are into history, I dont recommend you to take him because you wont learn, only through reading the textbook. The quizzes are on quizlet, and for his tests, he gives you the topics before hand (the tests are essays).

I took him online in the summer. He responded to emails fast. There is a lot of critical thinking writings but they are fairly easy, he does not grade toughly. There was sometimes when I didn't read and it didn't affect me at all. He gives three atempts on quizzes and they are almost all online. Enough time to search for answers in textbooks.

He is so worried about plagiarism, I've never had a prof. be so worried about it. Makes you turn everything in to Turnitin to check work Besides that hes not THAT bad, quiz due every week, a few DB, 2 major writing assignments, no major tests, just other quizzes and DB on books you have to read. It's probably been one of my busiest online classes.

He is honestly an easy professor, but he assigned a lot of work. There is quizzes(weekly), reading quizzes, critical thinking writing assignments and signature assignments. His course is very writing heavy by making all his tests 2 essays. He provides 4 questions which he will pick 2 for every test just study a little and you'll be fine(I got a 98)

His a really good teacher and his passion for his job shows through in his teachings. He gives great lectures and is such a good teacher. Will be taking again for 1301

This class was fun professor Stromberg is a really cool guy who had a great passion for what he did and that resonates in the class although some people dont like the way he is its a fresh change his lectures were long but the homework and the weekly test were very doable and it was mainly a time consuming thing he is an approachable professor

I took my professor for an honors program and I didn't know what to expect. when I took history in high school all it was to me was nothing but trivial dates to remember. however, when taking his class I actually learned a lot of things I didn't know. if you take this class I guarantee you'll learn something and view the world difftently.

He's successful at teaching US History through many perspectives. He doesn't make you memorize specific dates or people, he makes you think how one event has led another how did that affect different people. That year was a fun one to take!

3 Units each with 1 discussion and respond 2 student, 3-4 tests (easy-quizlet), 2 writing assignments, need to read 2-3 chapters of book with a test (easy if you read the book) and a discussion board. Very strict with submitting writing assignments to turnitin or you loose half your points. He is very opinionated, expects students to agree with him

Professor Stromberg's class was straight forward. He doesn't give much direction but his course is very clear on what is expected of you. Read the textbook and participate in the discussion board.

His lectures are really good and thought provoking. He not only puts information into a different perspective, but also relates it to the current world. You will get a lot of information out of the class if you participate and interact with the lectures. It is important to take notes during the lectures because they will be used for exams.

I took him online anytime Spring 2022 and his grading criteria was straightforward, you basically just have to do the work and you'll be fine. He can be kinda specific on his writing assignments but he's overall pretty good online.

Amazing teacher. i took online anytime and it was very easy. You have to read a lot but the test answers are literally from the book. it is a little heavy but you can get the homework done in 3 hours. available outside of class and very nice. very interesting class and good. recommend.

In person - so attendance was essential. Exams are based on his notes. He was abrasive with students but to be fair they were high school kids and annoying but still kinda hostile. Didn't care about dates/#s - wanted you to understand events and the ripple effects they had. That being said I enjoyed his lectures very much - very passionate teacher.

Professor Stromberg was a great professor. I tried my best to participate in his lectures despite it being online on a schedule. He was a tough grader but I still was able to get a B on all of my essays. His quizzes are based on BOTH lecture and book. Read the book and take notes during his lectures. Read the book he assigns the quiz is not bad.

He is lecture heavy. He is very engaging with his students. All assignments and exams are online. All exam questions are made by him and you are able to use your notes. Overall a great guy.

He was ultimately a good professor, but there is a lot of notes to be taken from his lectures. He does lecture a lot but it is kind of easy to understand. Missing a lecture can make things confusing, but just make sure to ask about what he went over during the class you missed. Make sure you take notes!!!

Although a fast-paced class, he does his best at explaining concepts and thoughtfully explaining them. Every class is pretty much a lecture so attendance is important for comprehension. Online tests and three writing assignments are the heavy grades, everything else is day-to-day. I enjoyed his class and passion when it comes to teaching. Great guy

Simple and direct curriculum. 3 Units, 3 Major Exams, 3 Discussion assignments throughout the semester. Attendance is not mandatory or taken for a grade however Stromberg does not offer his PowerPoint files. Lectures are very note-heavy. Read the textbook and study your notes from the lecture, and you will be fine

He was very fun and made history interesting. As a math major, I never liked history but he made history fun. Only downside is needed to be aware of homework deadlines because he does not remind in class. Overall 100% recommend!!! :}

Stromberg's class has a straightforward curriculum with heavy lectures. Attendance is a must to keep up. Use Unstuck study alongside the textbook to prepare - it really helped me ace the exams.

Dr Stromberg's class is very informational. He is very passionate on what he lectures about which makes his class easier to understand. All of the assignments, quizzes, and test are done at home. He is a very funny professor and incorporates his personal life into his lectures.

Lectures are very entertaining with him incorporating his personal life and shows that he cares for his students. Although can get distracted easily if distractions in the class room. Assignments are easy and all tests/quizzes are at home. Make sure to take notes though exams ask questions about content directly from lectures.

I had Dr. Stromberg twice, once in Fall 2023 and once for a honor's class in Spring 2024. From what I can collect from my memory, he was a relatively great professor! He was honest with his opinions yet managed to show the subject at hand with respect and value. If I were going for my Associate's like I was back then, I would have him again! :)

He's a very good professor. I had him for FA25 semester of dual credit and yeah, lectures can be boring, but he tried to make them fun. You'll have at least one assignment per week, two or more critical reading assignments per unit (3 units), and one exam per unit. No final exam in this class.

Dr. Stromberg was a great professor! His lectures were very engaging, and actually made me interested in history. There were some quizzes and inquizitives that were annoying, but otherwise the tests were lecture-based and the signature assignment was straight-forward. You have to put a little work into his class, but it's worth it.
