He does teach. His tests arent too easy either. Hes just funny and makes it fun to learn. You get out of it, what you want. Hes a great person and teacher.

Most of the questions from his notes, so take notes and study it!He gives 2 or 3 bonus answer during the tests.Funny and loves food. Tests kinda tricky, so read them carefully.

whoever wrote that this is a bad professor is an idiot. Prof. Valenzano is a really funny man and his class was very interesting. No other theology prof in St. Johns compares to this man. A MUST TAKE!

Some of the stuff he says is hilarious, he'll go off on a tangent about random stuff. Comes in 10min late bc hes smoking outside. No homework, no paper, 3 tests including final. Tests are kinda tricky bc there can be more than one right answer.

Alright here's the real deal on this joker..He yaps on with no end in sight & you can take notes till your hands fall off & you still won't have enough info 4 his confusing tests..Takes attendance but it doesn't count which pisses me off..I deserve 2 be rewarded 4 staying awake in that hellhole..

Yes, his jokes get a little lame, but he tries (and he succeeds more often than not). At times the class seems rather repetitive, and he doesn't seem to be "the sharpest tool in the shed." This is a misconception. He is highly intelligent and knowledgeable in his field. His class is exciting. I always feel like I'm getting the "inside scoop." -=)

He's the funniest professor i've taken so far. He does talk a lot, but jokes around, which keeps you interested in his lectures. His exams are a little confusing, but i definitely recommend this professor, he's really one of the best professors at SJU

Funny Italian guy, he has a good sense of humor even though sometimes his jokes may get dry, but would you rather have someone who just talks all day with no sense of energy, he also gives curves on almost all his tests even though they aren't hard. Only 3 tests for the semester nothing more. I call this the comedy/internet using class of SJU...

Fun class, never minded taking it at 8 AM. Not hard, and you do learn if you bother to pay attention. Recommended!

I definetley recommend him. He makes the class interesting and fun and plus he is hysterical. You will be sitting in class cracking up. He doesn't give any homework or projects. Just three tests. Two regular tests and a final, no midterm. He is very clear on what to study for the tests and studying is the only work required..def recommended

Show up for the lectures, take some notes, glance at them before each test and you'll be fine. The content is based almost entirely on common sense. His lectures can get a bit tedious (if he cut out the jokes you could leave about 40 minutes early every day) but he's a nice guy and very clear about what he wants.

I didnt even pay attention in class while he lectures. His lectures are boring but if you show up the day before the test and take notes you will pass the test and get an easy A.

Marriage and mystery of God are great The gospel is boring and long but Marriage is the BEST..You learn something about yourself and marriage you wouldn't have thought.. and it helps that hes funny... Good way to boost your gpa and a good laugh and learn...take him!!!!!

Very easy and amusing class. You'll get 3 multiple choice non-cumulative tests and that's it. No papers, no speeches. He reviews all material the class before the exam. Exams are curved. He's always well dressed and often late to class because he smokes outside. His lectures are clear and actually meaningful and relevant. Easy A for a required class!

Exams make you think you know everything but it's actually not as easy as they make it seem. Yea, he's funny but you still have to do well in his class...and might no even get the grade you're going for.

You can do whatever you want in his class, just make sure you do the assignments and read for the tests and you should get an A. Easiest course in the world.

I dont know wat these other ratings are about, but professor valenzano is awesome!! he's sooo funny and jsut a nice person in general. yea he lectures the whole time but hes not lecturing about nonsense, its the material for the exam and its so straightfoward, just pay attention and you will get 100 on every test. so easy.

Great guy. Loves to play comedian in between teaching. Easy going class. Very enjoyable. Great way to get rid of 1040 Series requirement. You'll enjoy the class. Not a lot of religion involved. Have fun.

Just take notes and show up. Reviews before every test. He's pretty funny too and willing to help. If you get below a B, you had to work for that. I would take him again.

Easy teacher. No hw or quizzes, only 3 tests. He cracks corny jokes all class which are entertaining. In my experience you only have to pay attention the day before the test -- he reviews. His tests are tricky and require some thought but once you understand what he means the the questions are easy. Easy class, i plan on taking again next semester.

3 exams. Attendance is mandatory (uses a sign in sheet). His classes are usually in Bent Hall so u'll c how easy it'll be to work around that. If you feel that he's taking to long to start class, he's probably outside talking to either a student, a professor or smoking a cigarette. You'll notice which 1 it mostly is. Corny jokes ALL THE TIME lol

One of the best professors that i've had so far. Very helpful and funny. Makes the class laugh and enjoy their time while been in it. If you have a chance take him!!!!

This professor is a man who will take the time to really teach you. If you fail his class don't even bother going to school any more because you didn't try. Over all take his course!

This guy is the man. Nice guy, has some jokes and the class is easy. All you have to do is show up and take notes and the grade is based on 3 multiple choice tests.

He is the EASIEST ever. He literally jokes the entire class. If you're in a relationship, you can learn A LOT from this class. He gives three tests which are super easy. Hes funny and cool :)! I wish all professors were like him!

Prof. Valenzano is pretty solid. He's got a goofy sense of old-timey humor that passes the time, and gets off on plenty of tangents. The material is pretty straight up, be sure to leaf through the text because notes aren't entirely a good supplement. Sweetheart of a guy, though. I'd take him again, show up and pass.

Easy and humorous lectures

Valenzano is the man, make sure you go to class because he always makes them fun and interesting. If you are in a relationship of any kind he will give you any advice you are looking for. Guy was in the Navy too so respect earned there. Would definitely take again, shame its my last theology course. SIGN UP QUICK FOR HIS CLASSES

Had him for a summer class. Doesn't write any of the notes so you have to listen and write down what he says. Tells more humorous serious stories than actual notes which sounds boring but keeps the class more engaged. Only four tests including the final. Tests are multiple choice. An overall great professor even though you have to take the class.

Great guy. Super funny, definitely not a class that'll bore you to sleep. Wasn't looking forward to theology core classes but this professor made it worth it. Goes over the exam the class before very specifically if you show up to the review you're guaranteed an A. Highly recommend taking this professor!

He's a hilarious guy. Engages students through humorous life experiences and some jokes that can be hard to tell whether he's joking or being serious. Insightful on relationships because of his own experience and career. Three tests including final and midterm. Tests are super easy and he gives a DETAILED review the day before.

No homework and tests are easy! If you go to class and participate a little, there is no reason you won't pass. He likes to play pranks and goes off on topic-a lot and tells a lot of stories. Overall- TAKE THIS CLASS

Prof Valenzano is great. His notes are dictated, but he goes at a good pace and will repeat anything you need him to. His class is very easy, but missing classes is not a good idea because you will miss useful information for the tests. His class is straightforward just three exams and he always gives a review right before every exam.

Easy Class. Take it. He talks for about 45 minutes and lets you out. He laughs at his own jobs and gets distracted easy but not a big deal. Attend class every now and again. Just make sure people are signing you in. DONE MISS A REVIEW CLASS. He goes over everything on the tests. Also gives a couple of answers to the test. Easy grade.

Professor Valenzano is nice guy overall, but his lectures are long and can get boring. He always lets us out early. The only thing about him is that he isn't as easy as everyone says because because he covers all the material on the exams except that he'll ask for the "best" response to something when he never mentioned what the best answer is.

Really great professor who tries to incorporate humor into his lectures. Material is pretty easy and straight forward. Grade consists of 3 tests that are 50 M/C and T/F. As long as you pay attention on review days the class should be an easy A.

Great professor! He's funny and really nice. Class is chill he shows up late and lets you leave very early. Textbook is cheap but you don't really need it as there's no homework and he'll review for exams and just tell you what's in the book. Tests are easy T/F and MC. Take him!

Very chill professor, assigns no HW and your grade consists of 3 tests. He reviews for the tests the day before and tells you everything you need to know. At the same time he teaches you very important life lessons and makes you think, I would def say I've learned valuable stuff. Ends class atleast 20 minutes early and def makes class FUNNY

Easiest class I have ever taken. No HW. He dictates all the notes. If you miss class, it does not matter because he gives a review the day before the test and tells you everything you need to know. On the actual day of the test, he gives you the answers to 5 questions. He then gives a 5 point curve to everything after grading the test. Easy A

His lectures are entertaining & he's a really funny guy. Sometimes he gets off topic & tells random funny stories. He's jokester for sure! Easiest A, but You definitely need to pay attention & do some work. Literally write everything he says. He also goes over everything the class before an exam. Memorizing is easy & helps you on the exam.

Professor Valenzano is engaging, witty, and passionate about the material. The tests are pretty easy. They follow the lecture and chapters closely. If you take notes and pay attention shouldn't have any problems with exams. He gives answers to certain exam questions and curves grades.

Amazing guy! Easy A for sure. Took him for my month long Christian Marriage class. Basically only had to show up for the review and test days. Curves the test amazingly. 100% recommend him. Hilarious guy who always talks about funny life experiences while teaching the course. Do yourself a favor and take him.

No HW, 3 tests, all the answers can be found in the small book he assigns. He tries to make lectures interesting and gives breaks in between. He'll also end the class early. Show up, pay attention, and you'll get an A for sure.

Professor Valenzano was amazing. Class always let out early, and the class is easy. It is three tests and he always reviews before the tests. He's funny in class as well and likes to crack jokes all the time. There's only one textbook and it's cheap, and not used super often, but I suggest skimming it for tests anyways.
