chatty, tests are basically off study sheets, pretty understanding.
not a good teacher
great teacher. skips out on classes a lot. useless notes, useless lectures, useless teacher. avoid her. similar teaching style to mcglennen.
a hard marker, slight mistake cost whole mark, emphasis on techique to give mark. useless notes. nice and eager to help. her practice questions are awesome, can do practice Qs = get good mark in midterms. cramming in this course won't do.
I thought she was good. I went to her about what i thought was a wrong grade and she considered it an raised it. let her look over her grader's work
Pascuzzi = McGlenen!!! midterm#1 = similar to study questions...midterm#2 = not similar to study questions...Final = no comments.
Somewhat condecending to her students. The saying "I don't care about my students" probably came from her class
she is a nice teacher. But the midterms are hard and marks are low. She is easy on markings, perhaps her marker is the problem. so do not take her if you want a good grade. however, she is helpful and sincere.
Worst teacher I had this year by far. She isn't "evil" so to speak, though she doesn't really burst out helpfullness or leaniancy. The main problem is that she isn't very good at teaching. It will take some effort to get an A in this class - avo
what more do you people want?!? you don't have to read the text which saves time. her notes can get you an A+ in the course. that is all you need to read her notes which are very clear! better than Izzad guy and glenen woman ;-)
She's good at teaching, but she marks hard! You only 2 midterms and a final, so if you don't do well on those you have ntn else to help your mark. Her marker is bad too. I don't know..try and find someone else if you can.
Awesome teacher....really nice!
Great teacher to come and talk with -- I consider her more of a friend than a teacher. Her final is only a m/c test, but its hard. Midterms are decently easy, but there are no assignments, which may or may not be a good thing. Great notes; very helpful!
is she the only one that teaches 2nd econ in langara?
havent had anytests yet so cant say really how she is...nevr comes on time to class and then lets class out late making me late for my next class where i get a crappy seat. her excuse for being late sucks too.
god, what a terrible teacher. does not give a crap about teaching her students. apparently only here to collect a paycheck and do bare minimum.
Straight forward tests and quizzes, but material is BLOODY hard and time is always a major problem as we never had enough time to finish the midterms.
Seems like a nice lady; I don't know how she comes off as arrogant or spiteful. Notes are relatively clean and clear, occasionally marred by her own mistakes. The MT's and quizzes are pretty straightforward, maybe one surprise question, but that's expected in a second year COMM course.
consider yourself lucky if you can come out of the course with a C. She does not even know what she is teaching and exams are very hard! If you are thinking, how bad can she be? You can see for yourself like i did. VERY BAD!!
Q's on her exam is straight forward from note and her practice excercise. as long as you finish all the excercise before midterm, you will be good!note are clear!Midterm are FAIR!and juest enough time to do it.only one thing need to improve:she takes SOO long to mark ur test!
dunno why so many ppl are hating on her. Her quizzes ARE a bit tricky but her midterms are pretty straighforward and easy if u've done the practice questions and exams. Her notes are fairly straight forward too..
She is a nice lady. She knows her materials very well and gives you very clear notes. Do all practice questions before the midterms.
donno why those ppl saying she is hard.in fact, she is very easy on MT.I never read the text, and just study note and question she gave us,THEN i get an As for MT.did u guys do your excercise question before exam?
very hard class and not much help from the teacher in class. she will teach some things and then what she leaves out will probably be on the test. hard tests but a fair marker i guess =(
Well to be honest she isnt the greatest teacher. Yes the midterms are like practice questions and so are the quizes, but she is ssuuuuch a picky marker! She'll take off marks for any little thing she can, and if u go to argue with her she'll never give u more, so even if u kno it on a B u'll get C+
She isn't that hard guys! study her notes and all the questions she gives us before blame there's too much writing in class and so on. i didn't go any extra studying.. just went over the note and question sets. and i'm getting an A or A+.... study! before u blame her.
she seems like a nice lady, but she is a tterrible teacher who is in denial. not only will her class grant you a bad mark, but it will suck marks away from your other classes aswell. save your sanity, money and time
Nice person but a completely hopeless Prof. Don't bother showing up to class on time because she'll be at least 10 mins late!!
she's the HOTTEST 74 year old in this planet..i still can't believe she gave me a 97 after i egged her house...TWICE! THANK-YOU SO MUCH
forced to take 2296 with her since she's the only one who teaches it; very unhelpful, useless lectures, forces you to go to lectures by giving out quizzes, NOT GOOD!
really eazy test is pretty much out of notes and worksheets
shes not bad she gives u plenty of practice questions (a booklet, 2 practice midterms, and a questions on the final) and if you do those you will get a high mark. shes also pretty friendly but she may rub people off the wrong way
Class is quite boring, not enough real life situations, but nice lady and forgiving if u fail one midterm. I got 50% on 1st mt and 80% on 2nd ended up getting a b+, she can be interesting too if u ask her questions!!
clear, organized but hard at times. lots of exercise to do...
I really like her as a teacher! Seriously, if you want to do well, do the study questions and go over the notes...you don't even need to open the textbook for macroecon and micro. People say she's a hard marker but if you're ****ting on the questions it's obvious and she won't give you credit for it...
v. clear & helpful teacher. fair marker
Do the practice questions, study her notes and you will do fine. Very opinionated... agree with what she says and put her words down on the quiz/mid term. Disagree or try to form an opinion to open ended questions... and it will be condescendingly taken care of by her. It's a fast paced course. Overall, good economics teacher!
my high school average was 82% still i find her midterms hard eventhough i guess i studied enough. if u take microecon with her 80%of midterms are from graphs study them carefully
The exams are basically the practice work sheets and class notes. I find that she goes too fast in class and is not descriptive enough. She expects everyone to understand after one example. overall she seems like a nice lady but not much help.
I showed up for every class up till about the middle of the term. I realized that I don't learn crap in her class, she adds in her own stuff that you can't find in the textbook. Doesn't even follow the textbook exactly, so it's hard to follow.
simply put, she's excellent. She give you ample opportunity to bump up your mark with quizzes and midterms. She follows through every question with easy-to-follow steps, clear diagrams and superb note-taking/speaking combined) skills. I recommend her above all for economics.
She is such a nice and helpful teacher. Her exams are based on her notes and the problem sets (exercises). Pay close attention to graphs, she loves them! She's taught at langara for at least ten years, so she knows her stuff. However, she only gives one or two examples per concept, but this is not high school, so it's all good. Final is m/c.:)
She is an excellent teacher who has superb note-taking skills and goes through the material step by step. Not only does she go through (step by step) the answers of her homework, but asks the same or very similar questions on her mark-bumper quizzes. Her midterms are straightforward although unsurprisingly hard due to the difficulty of the material
If you are planning to take Principles of Microeconomics and Principles of Macroeconomics (econ 1220 and 1221), she is the professor to take it with! Study her notes, do the problem questions she assigns and read the textbook. You will be rewarded with at least a B or higher. Her quizzes and midterms are straight forward. Wonderful to talk to :)
Her teaching is so so, not too bad, but not exactly fantastic either. Sometimes she would be a bit wandering off. Her notes are great, her quizzes and mid terms are not very hard, as long as you understand the key material, you're good to go. Personally, she's really nice, funny, and pretty engaging. And she's totally obsessed with coffee.
This teacher is excellent, I really enjoyed the class and above all her quizes tests midterms are easy so I highly reccomend her. She is one of the best profs in Langara. Helped me get an A+
her quizzes and midterms are easy as long as you go through her notes. the most highest 3 out of 4 quizzes will be calculated into your final grade. 4 quizzes + 2 mids + final. midterm has 10 M/Cs and 5-6 short-answer Qs. altho the final is only 70 M/Cs, pls expect they are much harder than the quizzes and mids. anyway, i recommend her. good luck!
I didn't much time on this course, and I easily got A-. Just take her class.
Her teaching is interesting, but there are lots of diagrams on midterms. However, finals are all MCs (Microecon), and guess what, at least half of them are from ur midterms.
She cant teach. She tries to.. but she fails miseribly and is at times impossible to follow. But the bottom line is she is a horrible teacher who is unfortunatly the only one to teach 2nd year Econ. Unfortunatly.
she's the worst there is. thought she was okay because i read a few comments here. but if you want your GPA to plummet down, take her. doesn't teach anything. ignores you on office hours. gets frustrated when students ask questions. can't teach. worse prof i've ever had i my whole life. midterms are horrible. she is seriously not worth it.
midterms are impossible to finish unless you're a super nerd. can't teach at all. 80% of the class got below 70% for the midterm...
She gives very clear lectures, and she is very helpful. Her tests are very straight forward. I got A- from her class. One of the best instructors in Langara.
strongly recommend this professor to teach ECON1220&1221
Awesome instructor. Her notes are good enough for an A, so regular attendance helps.Highly recommend her.
HARD,HAED MARKER!!EXAMS ARE 50% OF THE WHOLE COURSE, BUT EXAMS ARE VERY VERY HARD!!!!tHE AVERAGE OF MY CLASS IS VERY LOW!!DON'T TAKE HER
Not helpful at all. Many of my friend failed her class and I got very low grad. Avoid her!!!!!
Don't take her classes!! She is hard. Her exams are long, and she only gives u a little time to write the long exam!!
Her tests are pretty straightforward and it's easy to get an A if just you attend the lectures and study from the textbook. Pay special attention to the graphs, she loves graphs.
It's kind of funny to see that some previous negative comments about the difficulty of the course are written by the same people who clearly have no sense of proper spelling and/or grammar.
her class is easy if students actaully try to understand the material. her explanation is very clear. exams are quite easy. lots of questions are from quizes and problem set. many students get 100% from exams(maybe 5,6, or 7 students out of 60). students can only get low marks if they don't study hard. just take her. she is goooood!
Marks very hard. Her lectures are very very boring and useless. Only take her if you can study by urself
good economic professor, the tests is sraight-forward, make sure u understand the notes, which is extremely useful.she likes graphs, so u will be able to draw.
if you are the type who is studying econ just cuz you have to, shes ok. if you have a real interest in the subject and are looking for a teacher who will open up your mind and interest you further into the fascinating world of econ, pick a different instructor. i probably fell asleep every other class, and I like econ.
I am going to show you more facts. She gives 3 multiple-choice quizzes; only the best 2 marks are taken. She gives 2 midterms, no multiple-choice question at all, only short-and long- answer questions. Final exams: only 60 multiple-choice questions! Imagine, econ with multiple choices.
Only material covered during the lecture will be tested. Exam is all multiple-choice. Her class is good!
Very nice teacher!! Just work on the given notes, you will be fine!!
She is a good prof. Fair exams and helpful notes. Class might be a bit boring, but this is economics after all. Get study guide
She sets you up for success. Great in class notes, easy quizzes and exams. Final exam is created by department 60 mc and its tuff. Do good on the quizzes and her exams and that should even out the final. Shes always willing to help.
She is a great teacher and made ECON simple and easy to understand. 3 Quizzes (10 MCs; takes mark from best 2/3), 2 Midterms (Fill in the blanks, Short answers), and a Final. I found the class to be quite simple, and many topics discussed can be somewhat applied to real life. Pascuzzi is great, take her class if need be!
Took her economics class and nearly fell asleep every single effin day!!! she is very dull and boring and cannot even explain her answers properly! Easy but expect to teach yourself almost everything!
Josp is a nice lady BUT she is boring and does not explain things properly, she is ALWAYS corrected in class and sometimes her answers don't even help. Wording in her exams are not straight forward, and you can't just study the textbook. I was self-taught and also got a tutor. Passing rate in her class is low- said it herself.
I would take her again
3quizzes (MC)-best 2/3 marks. 2midterms (short answer/fill in the blank). A final that was 60 MC Qs. Did ok on the 1st MT (only b/c studied minimally). 2nd MT, ACTUALLY studied, did well. Final was straightforward. Got a B in the course, easy to do better than that. Everything out of textbook; barely studied from notes. Would take her class again.
I got A- in this class. Her class was simple, but boring. Studying her notes was enough for the exams. I rarely read my textbook and studyguide.
If you attend class regularly, take notes, and study before exams, you should be fine. recommended!
I got A in this course. She teaches quite clear and understand the material. Her quize is helpful for the final because final is all multiple choices. Her exam is very basic. Everything you should know. I recommend do the myecon lab which is quite helpful than study guide.
Most of her midterms and quiz are based on the notes she gave us. Personally, if you want to get A, I think you d better to read and remember all of her notes. Of course, read all the contents of the textbook. Forget about the study guide.;)
TAKE HER! She is like the nicest teacher that i've ever had!! Her exams are very straightforward (mostly from the notes that she gave us)if you attend class regularly and study her notes you will get A. For quizzes, do the multiple choice questions in study guide.
She is very very nice, she's one of the nicest professors you will find at Langara. The downsides are she went through the material too fast and assumes you remember everything from micro - so know your micro well or you will fall behind. To me her exams are tricky, but be free to throw her questions, she will answer them.
No doubt she is a nice prof but you don't learn from her, it's all self study. Textbook use is quite mandatory to understand the material. She has two written midterms which are not easy, our class average on the midterm was 62% which was much better than the first midterm. I haven't written the final yet so I can't say anything yet.
Pascuzzi is an excellent teacher. She is very clear when she goes through her lectures. Exams and quizzes are fair (all things we learn in class), but you really have to study if you want to do good. Most of it is understanding rather than memorizing. The study guide helps a bit, I would recommend it if you've never been in an econ class
She is SOOOOOOOOO NICE!! The 2260 was a FUN class!
Textbook not required. Class notes are uploaded online with blanks to be filled in during class lectures. Three quizzes: best 2/3; 10 multiple choice. Two midterms: written. Final: 60 multiple choice. Do well on the quizzes and you'll do well on the final. Know how to read graphs, !LABEL! drawn graphs, and read questions with attention to detail.
it's all self study, you can skip classes but do buy the textbook and read by yourself.......... Her tests are difficult, so be prepared to study for tests....
she's a nice person, but it seems she doesn't good at teaching this course, especially her notes; if you really need to take Econ 2296, “Donna Park” would be a better choice. Donna offers class notes in her class and all you need to do is to listen and write down things she projected on the screen. It's easier to learn, though the tests are harder
This is a tough class. There is lots of work that you need to do to get a good grade. Learn to take your own notes and study by yourself. This is a University level course so don't expect to be spoon fed everything. If you do, you will fail and i will laugh at you.
She is nice and helpful!! you really can learn a lot from her.. I like her..
I highly recommend this teacher! She is very encouraging and helpful. I actually failed my first midterm. I went to her to get help for the second midterm and ended up getting a B+. Her notes are organized and clear. Just pay attention to all the examples she does in class and understand the key concepts of each chapter and you will do very well.
It's a tough course, but she's great! Tests are exactly what you learn in class. Very straightforward.
Great Prof for Econ 1220, especially if u dont have any economics background. all u learn is basically graphs
Josephine is a great teacher. Her teaching is easily understood. The problem sets (optional) she provides are challenging but also engages with the material being taught during class. Quizzes are easy, and the exams are essentially easier versions of the practice problems. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended.
Friendly and approachable, will totally help you understand if you're struggling. Fairly easy marker, with not much work required to do well in the course. Recommended for sure.
I highly recommend this teacher. She is a great teacher. Notes and lectures are clear and organized. Just understand and study examples and key concepts she teaches in class and there will be an easy A.
Not sure why her rating is this low. I will definitely take her class again, no doubt! If you put in effort, its not hard to get an A. She also has a really clear grading criteria - 3 quizzes, 2 midterms and one final exam (no homework at all!)
Not the best most of het class is failing the course. She's not clear on what's gonna be on exams and 70% of her class is failing class. Not accessible and she goes very fast in class. Hates when people don't understand or they need to slow her down. Econ is better if taken with another prof.
Alot of people in the class are failing and won't pass the course. Her teaching is basically reading the book, people sleeping in class are a common sight. The course is entirely based one exams, no wonder so many people are failing!!! 3 Quizes worth 10%, Exam#1 25%, Exam#2 30%, Final 35%. Also... All exams are WRITTEN!!! Do not take!!
The tests are very difficult and she's always going on about how the class has a "low success rate"... Fail rate is high. All self study.
The worst Econ teacher I have ever had. Her writing is terrible and many students can't recognize the words. Her personality is a big issue cuz she likes to spread negative thoughts to the students. If u want learn sth and have a happy life, don't even think about taking her class.
Are there two Josephine Pasucuzzi?! I withdrew the same class with Fulton, and his exams were INFINITELY more difficult. Exams are very fair, literally word for word from notes. You would had to done 0 studying to fail, her questions are as basic as it gets. Final was multiple choice and straight from notes. Very helpful and nice outside of class.
Josephine is a great professor. Econ has a low success rate so it is hard to get a decent mark. I would for sure take another class with her as she follows the textbook very closely which is so helpful when studying on your own! the quizzes are only worth 10% of your overall mark and the rest is test based. study the textbook and you should be fine
Midterm-1 30% , Midterm-2 35 % and Final EXAM - 35%. The course could have been more easier if there had been some percentage for quizzes and assignment. Textbook Required.
She didnt prepare much before the class . Not a tough grader but she don't explain things well in class. Get ready to figure out things on your own!
She has two midterms and a final so if you screw up badly on one of those your mark might be hard to save. She does provide her own notes as well as practice questions for the exams but you should still read the textbook if you are confused or just simply ask her for help. Her exams are not that difficult.
Drones on using the same analogy of beer and pizza. She is an extremely nice person who wants to see you succeed. A lot of her lectures are full of diagrams and graphs... doesn't really feel like it applies to real life.
Not an easy course, but she explains it pretty clear. Your grade is based on three midterms, which are pretty straightforward as long as you attend lectures regularly; and one final, which is not easy since it's accumulative. She is very approachable and extremely helpful during hours. Her lectures are sort of dull though
Josephine is a good proffessor, however course is pretty hard. She is a fair teacher.
She is a nice professor. She cares her student. Clearing grading criteria, 2 midterms(55%), three quizzes(10%),and one final(35%). Her tests are fair, you can get a very high mark if you study her notes and read the textbook. Preview and reading textbook are recommended because she sometimes goes over the topic too fast and u will feel confused.
I retook her class in 2017. Actually, I had taken Shimon's. I do feel the difference, Shimon's teaching is more clear and accurate. In the final, her mind was not clear, and ask us submit 30 minutes before scheduled. She is not better than any of instructor I have met, but her rate is high. Therefore, I feel need to tell my experience.
This prof is such a tough grader and gives you zero mark for providing extra information even if your answer is correct. She said we have to be precise?? Her exams are hard
Josphine is a nice person, theres no doubt about that. But in terms of the actual course, be prepared for rather bare, and boring lectures. You have to attend class to get the filled in notes, otherwise you would be studying off of skeletal print off notes, would wouldn't help at all. Midterm difficulties are fair if you understand the content.
she's bad stay away. her midterms are all written but her final is accumulated and its mcqs. bad prof do not recommend
Worst professor I have ever taken. In all my schooling years I haven't filled a single course but her course was the first. I do not recommend this professor.
Josephine is a very caring professor. She does a good job at simplifying the material and making it easier to understand. It's not an easy course and the lectures can be dry at times, but if you put in the work, expect a good grade.
Worst Professor
Josephine is a very sweet and approachable yet firm lecturer. Don't expect to just sit back, listen and pass the class. Her lectures consist of her breaking down concepts on paper projected onto a screen, so it is the most effective if you follow along with her and draw the diagrams. She's not a very tough marker (yesss).
The posted lectures online arent very thorough so you have to be at class to understand. There arent any curveballs in the exams and shes clear on what youll be tested on. Youll do well in her class if you like the subject.
QUALITY. Notes are straight forward and filled in class, so would recommend going. She's really good at real world application to help understand material. Exams have no surprises. Study the patterns, make summary sheets as she suggests and this course is relatively stress free! Didn't open the textbook once.
She really cares about her students and wants all of us to improve. However, all her grades are based on tests and there are no assignments.
The professor is good, but her lecture is boring. The good thing is that there are no assignments.
This class is really hard. Maybe, I just dont understand the content well enough, but Josephine is not that good at explaining things and she is also really boring. Also, it doesnt help at the fact that all her marks are based on four test worth 25% each of your entire grade. So, if you were to screw one up... itll be all over for you.
I took her mixed-mode course but never showed up because she posts a lecture online that covers all the material(you can comfortably play her at 2x speed). Explains clearly and no surprises at all. Zero homework, grade depends entirely on 4 exams and NO ACCUMALTIVE FINAL. Perfect for busy schedules and the easiest A I've ever gotten.
I would never take for Econmics
I took mix mode with her. I did not enjoy her lecture because it was really boring. I took other econ class before and got B from there but receive F in this course. She expects students to study before class, so if you don't have background, it is waste of time to sit in her class. The final was cumulative. Exams were harder than lecture, all MPC.
It is important that you go through the stuff she covered
If you learn well by yourself you should take this class. She has all lectures online and attendance isn't mandatory. Her lectures are lovely but she goes on tangents a lot. She's a lovely lady but I wish I had watched the videos instead as they're more straightforward. TLDR: Watch the recordings and go if u have questions instead.
She is nice and organised. Her course is not hard given that you pay attention to her lectures. Her course is not math intensive and she wants you to know the concepts. Overall, it is an easy credit. I wish I could take more of her courses but unfortunately I am completing my courses.
Not mandatory attendance, self study the textbook and pass the test and exam not difficult to me. She is very good at graph analysis even its not suitable for my learning, I would take her course again if possible!
amazing teacher! I haven't finished my course with her but I like that she is not math heavy and is very reliable. she does talk a lot in class but you end up understanding everything and if you don't, she has all the slides she went through uploaded. I would SO take this class again
Josephine is an amazing professor, if you listened in classes and read the slides before class, you are sure to get a good grade. Grades based only on exams and a few quizzes.
Professor's lectures are not the most engaging, so I'd recommend watching the recordings and using Unstuck study or ChatGPT for study prep. The exams are tricky, so be sure to stay on top of the material. Overall, a doable class if you put in the work.
Don't choose her. It takes her 1 million years to mark 40 multiple-choice questions, which are written on a Scantron paper. Her exam questions are very tricky compared to other economics classes.
She is kind and explains everything pretty simply, her notes are super helpful and you can do well just by reading those. Her midterms and final were just 40 multiple choice questions which I enjoyed. Overall she makes econ easier and explains everything well.
Josephine runs an awesome class and is a great professor! Her exams are MC, and to achieve above an A you have to have a solid understanding of the material. Reading the textbook is MOST helpful to deepen your understanding. I found the class quite easy and really enjoyed her as a teacher!
Josephine is a very caring and kind professor. Her lectures may be lengthy sometimes, but she explains well and often checks in with the class to make sure we understand. She provides class notes online, and attendance is not mandatory. Exams and midterms consist of 40 MC questions each. Overall great prof, decent class. I enjoyed it!
Don't take her class, wait until next semester. Super difficult, had to spend twice the amount of time studying her class than my other health science classes. Doesn't explain, comes to classes and just talks for 2 hours. Half the class skips her lectures or leaves after the break. Don;t take her for your sanity.
