He thinks he's better then all of us.
This was my first class of my first semester, and I passed with an A. If you do the reading, and pay attention, you'll be fine. If you can get an easier teacher though, I would.
the class wasn't that bad, and A Fabricated Mexican was a good book to read. Not an easy class, but not a hard class, and the teacher is nice. In Eng-A, we even got to write an essay or 2 about ourselves!
not the best but taught me something about life
forget this dude
Grades really hard on papers! If you know how to write well you should atleast get a C! He isn't the nicest guy but I didn't think he was an ass like most people do. He is very nice to look at though!
Clueless.....I feel sorry for him. He's too full of himself to I realize what a horrible teacher he is. He isn't open to feedback from students either. It's sad. "If you're on your own in this life, the days and nights are long." Oh yeah, his head gives off quite a glare , so bring you sunglasses.
You dont need to read any of the assigned readings, he goes over everything you need to know eventhough he says he wont.
That's because he is better than all of us. Passed with a B during my first semester. Do the reading, do the work and quit complaining. It's school for Christ's sake.
Very funny if you get to know him, difficult sometimes, but interesting
Hes hot. Hes intrested in whats going on, He is a difficult teacher for those that like to feel challenged, Will work with you on all your assignments and has no problem giving you his opinion but wants you to give one right back, greeeat teacher!!
He thinks he is better than everyone because he is better than everyone. In a very hot way. Do the reading and the work and it should be okay. Unless you have problems with writing. If you do, ask for help.
very nice to look at, not to mention humorous

This guy is a cretin! No teaching skills what so ever!!! He is a total weirdo, he should not teaching in a classroom!
I had two horrible experiences in other english classes, but this guy was able to get me to enjoy the subject matter. Those other horrible ratings are ****, he is willing to help and to listen and puts in some humor every now and then.
He should be paid as much as a doctor or lawyer.
hes not an easy teacher, very strict also. i dont recoment to take his class.
Very enjoyable teacher.
He requires a lot of his students, which is good if you are going to be an english major but isnt necessary if it is just a prerequisite requirement for an associate degree or transfer
He's a great lecturer. He keeps it fun and intersting.
He would be a great philosophy teacher but bad english teacher. I thought english was about learning how to write not confuse.
Not for the faint at heart! He tells you exactly what he wants. For those who don't get it yet, you write what they(Prof.) want, not what you want. He is funny, articulate, and tells you like it is. So far I enjoy his class alot. He challenges me, which doesn't happen often.
Good Teacher
Excellent class, deep dicussions, and in-depth papers. I loved it!
As long as you pay attention and go to him when you need help, you will pass. He is always willing to help.
He is pretty hard and grades the papers hard. He lets you rewrite one of your papers to get a better grade on it. He is very helpful though if you ask for it. He knows what he is doing. Pretty cool guy, but hard teacher. Not and easy grade, but if you like a challenge.
If youre a good writer and keep up with all the work he gives you, you should be fine with him. But you still have to make sure that you keep on top of things because he is a tough grader. Overall, id say this teacher is well preparing me for the University
He is a good teacher. I enjoyed the class, He is a tough grader but fair.
Great teacher. Grades hard, but gives you plenty of chances to help your grade. Awesome discussion, and plenty of good reads.
He is an awesome professor, very understanding, and very helpful... I really enjoyed his class.
One of the best english teachers I've had so far, I highly recommend. He is very approachable and willing to help with any paper you need. If your looking for an english class to take, take his course.
Woooow.... I really love this professor. He is kinda tough but he is really helpful. I am an ESL student, and I learned a lot from him. I got all As in all my essay assignments in last semester. Take his class, highly recommended!
He is absolutely a great professor! He is very nice, helpful and funny.
He is very helpful, I went to him about most of my papers he took the time to ask what exactly I wanted to say in my papers and helped me put it into words and paragraph Structure, best English teacher I have had.
He's very straightforward in what he wants in his assignments and very helpful when you need help. He relates to the students with references that pertain to the 'college' group. He made 81 a very easy class.
Great professor! Has no problem explaining things a thousand times. Looks like a hard grader but he is a really reasonable grader. I would take him again.
Mr. Daughdrill is a rather interesting teacher. He has a great understanding towards English. I had him for English 81, and he really prepared me for English A. He's helpful and keeps it simple. I give him a "B."-for Better to prepare you for English A.
He is very funny... I wish I could took his class again! I passed his class with an-A... Yikess...
He does not mind to explain over and over again. Take him and you gotta ready laugh a lot in class. He is funny as hell.
Awesome teacher! If you go to class, participate, and do the work you should get an A. He keeps it interesting and has a sense of humor. This class has supplemental instruction(SI) and if you take advantage, it will bump your grade up.
We read a couple of interesting books and had to answer questions about them. We also had a potluck
He likes to cuse and if you aren't used to it from a professor, you better build a tolerance. Considering it happens on a daily bases. His writing isn't very clear, which can bug at times. Overall aside from the above, he is a very good and helpful teacher and likes to make jokes! The best thing is that he makes English a good and fun subject.
Professor Daughdrill seems like those types that are really irritated with the world, because he hates technology and gets mad if you haven't heard of something he likes, but he's super cool one on one and he's really helpful. I had him for film but I wish I had him for one of my English classes. Highly recommend! :)
Tough grader on essays if its not good to him it aint good basically if your a good writer you'll pass read his books and youll get an A his Essays go hard tho but its worth it I learned alot
Professor Daughdrill is very helpful although his essay prompts are not easy, he is clear but you will have a hard time trying to get an A on an essay unless you're really good at writing. I barely got my first B on one but other than that he is a good instructor. The books he has you read aren't boring.
He made literature seem interesting and made me leave with an appreciation for it. I enjoyed the class discussions and the reading was interesting. Not much busy work, so essays are a huge portion of your grade. I thought he was a very fair grader; He has standards, which is a welcomed change. I am leaving his class a better writer and thinker.
Professor Daughdrill is exactly what an instructor should be. He is intimidating because he is intelligent and holds high standards. There are few quizzes, so essays, mid-term, and final are crucial. He offers office hours where he gives excellent feed back on papers that are in progress. He is there to help his students succeed. Great professor.
He is amazing! I loved his class! I loves how much he inspires and pushes his students to do not only good but great work. I would consider myself a good writer and was worried that this class would be boring and it definitely isn't and i can walk away with knowing that i fell like a much more developed writer than before.
Daughdrill was a great teacher and very sarcastic which I think is what helped me get through the class. He doesn't have a specific English textbook but he gives you about three/ four books to read and write papers on. Kind of a tough grader but tells you what he wants and plus he isn't bad to look at. :) Be ready to read and work hard.
Daughdrill is an excellent professor! In english 85, he will teach you everything you would need to know to pass english 1A. He gives tons of examples and good feedback on essays. He is a hard grader but he will push you to be your best. He assigns interesting books so that is a plus. I would take his classes again. Don't use your phone in class.
Daughdrill is a tough grader but a really good professor. He assigns more papers than the usual english class but he lets you know exactly what should be in your paper. I actually learned a lot from his class which is saying something as the engl-1A course you're supposed to take before this really sucked (I had a different prof).
DO NOT TAKE he grades so hard its ridiculous, and requires 3 books.
Daugdrill is a very good teacher but he is a tougher grader. He grades everything. Gives good advice and tells you whats do a day before
I took Professor Daughdrills Eng 1A class my first semester back after almost 4 years being out. He was awesome and really helped you understand the criteria. Some think he is a harsh grader but if youre an active student whose will to learn is greater than just trying to get a passing grade youll come to enjoy his class & teaching style.
Professor Daughdrill was one of my first professors when I went into college. He was strict about his work and grading but, his lectures were great and he made everything understandable. He is really tough on his students but only in attempts to motivate you. You really soak up information in his class and I personally found him to be very kind.
if you have any questions just ask him, Gives really good feedback on papers
Professor Daughdrill is amazing. I thought his class was very fun. While it is about an hour and a half long he let us out early most of the time. Definitely show up to class so you know what he looks for on essays. He is super understanding, and helps out. He gives great feedback, even though the class is difficult I would recommend taking it.
Daughdrill is an extremely helpful English professor. Although he is a tough grader, I feel as if I learned a lot from his class and not to mention he made lectures fun and not boring. He only assigned three essays throughout the semester and minimal work outside of those three essays. Definitely recommend to those who actually want to learn.
The spring semester is great. Got an A, he will tell you what you need to do to get good grades, just follow his direction. His grading percentage are amazing, gives you a cut. Reads 2 books, nothing too hard, you just have to make sure you read on time because there will be a quiz the following Monday and do turn in your essays on time.
He is a good teacher but a tough grader. Put a big emphasis on "attendance" even though it is an online class. Requires certain number of hours logged into Canvas, participating in class. Realistically if you interact with all of his content you'll be fine. 2 books, 3 papers. The book choices are eh. Big negative HE ASSIGNED A PAPER ON SPRING BREAK
Prof Daughdrill is nice and gives interesting commentary on the movies we watch. He is a tough grader when it comes to posts, just run your post through a grammar checker before submitting it. No need to bring a notebook to class, but I recommend taking notes on your phone when watching a movie, it helps when answering discussion questions.
As for HUM21, lectures mean a lot because he generally won't post them afterwards unless you ask. His prompts can be pretty vague and discussions with him aren't that fun. He usually cracks down on opposing viewpoints and criticizes responses, and not in a helpful way. He is pretty easy, but he is also a stickler on grammar.
Not the best his instructions are unclear and his grading in my opinion seems unfair
He is a slow grader so your grade will not be too accurate. You do have to read two books that you write about and have multiple assignments as well as quizzes. Overall it's not too bad but it does get confusing at times and grading is unclear.
blank posts and full zeros for small mistakes.
This professors grading is unfair, his instructions are unclear, and when he grades nothing changes, I honestly don't recommend. With his grading it makes one lose motivation to even try.
Mr. Daughdrill is very tough when it comes to grading. It doesn't make sense, and neither do his assignments. He will tell you it's great but there is always something wrong with it and will drop your grade drastically. If the assignment is completed with full points your grade will barely even go up, I do not recommend this professor.
I would rather walk into moving traffic than take a class with Daughdrill ever again. His grading is terrible, the assignments are lengthy, and he rarely gives you any valuable feedback. Do not take him if you feel like enjoying your English 1A class.
Prof. Daughdrill wants his students to excel. When it comes to grading, he is hard but fair. The workload is standard for any English class: 4 papers, discussion posts, and reading quizzes. Instructions are clear and straightforward. I started with an F on my first paper, but worked my way to a B. I left his class a better writer. Highly Recommend.
I had him for English 1A. His assignments are clear. I probably could have passed with a B but I stopped trying. He's a good dude. Take him.
Mr. Daughdrill can be intimidating, but he is a softy. You have to read a few books and write four papers but that is normal. He is available outside of class and willing to help. Just ask!
You know that one scene in Mean Girls after Regina finds out what the Kalteen bars actually do. yeah...
Mr. Daughdrill seems like he doesn't care, but he does. Approach him because he is very helpful. If students fail his class, it is on them.
Amazing professor. Mr. Daughdrill is funny and smart. He works hard to make sure that students understand. You have to write four papers and do some reading and quizzes, but there is not a ton of busy work which is much appreciated.
Easy peasy. I worked but not too hard. I got a B. He joked that he looks like Squidward, but he is really more like Patrick Star!
I would not recommend him. He doesn't tell you what to fix to improve your papers; he just gives you a bad grade.
Mr. Daughdrill is a good teacher. He will tell you he is not the best online, but he is very accessible and willing to help if you ask. I got an A and would take him again.
This teacher was very chill. Always making jokes and always striving to teach us and have us learn. I really like this class. There was a lot of reading though so be prepared and there were like 4 papers. It's not too hard, just do the work and you'll pass the class. There are a lot of extra credits if you go to his office hours.
Overall good chill teacher, I didn't like some reading assignments due to sexual profanity and language, honestly a bit much for an Eng class. He is not lenient on missing assignments and warns his online class is hard to pass, but do the work you'll pass. Writing is something I enjoy but if English is not your strong suit choose a lenient teacher.
I took this professor on spring. He was great!, he give 4 essay in a semester, but he can take a look in your essay and tell you where you can improve on. he give extra credit on things you should be doing so it is easy to get. It's a easy class as long you double check your work with the teacher.
I don't know where to start, I mean the guy was funny and had a sense of humor, but I just felt intimidated by him at times and a bit overwhelmed too. Class felt like it took forever sometimes and his grading was a bit fuzzy to me. Got called out in front of everyone too which made my disliking for the class worse when I took it. Oh well.
Throughout the entirety of the semester, he lectured the class around 5-6 times and expected us to be pro writers. Not only that, but he did absolutely nothing to make the class fun, his voice stayed completely monotone-- and for a 2 hour class it was something I dreaded everyday. Don't take his class.
He's a REALLY REALLY tough grader. He makes it known at the beginning of class but still lol. Hes a decent professor but if you're looking for an easier class DO NOT TAKE HIM. He is also sort of intimidating lol
