Everyone MUST take him! He is an amazing teacher and you learn so much. He is extremely entertaining. There's hardly any homework and sometimes there's take home quizzes. The tests aren't bad either because he gives extensive reviews of everything that's going to be on the test. And he's a HOTTIE :).
his a really good teacher, he doesnt make history that boring and plus his cute
Great teacher! Class is not a blow off class but definitely not a hard class. I can honestly say I learned more from one semester of his class than my four year high school career. He knows what he is talking about. He will go out of his way to help you. If your semi interesting in history or humanities he will definitely keep you interested. GREAT
He is an awesome guy! I took his class last year! He is handsome and nice!
Very good teacher. pretty cute. makes class interesting. we had a pointless 5 page research paper. but not too much homework, very cool guy. very smart. he knows what he is talking about. i wish i needed more history classes, cus if i did i would absolutely take him!
this class is by no means a blow off class. 3 tests, 6 quizes. drops the lowest quiz score at the end. tests are not extremely difficult, but you do have to study hard for them. 35 multiple choice and a 5 paragraph essay. specifics are important. the guy is a walking textbook, he knows his stuff. he's funny, and super nice. i like his class-take hi
He is a great teacher. His lectures are crystal clear and his assignments are easy. His exams are easy as well, but you really have to study. I recommend him
took this class in the beginning of summer for 3 weeks and this guy is the BEST and he even made the 3 week 4 hour a day secion FUN!!you do have to study but he tells you what to study for every texts and gives u 2 fun projects and extra credit i recommend him! hes even really nice and helpfule i got a B!! but you do have to tudy for the tests!!
very fun class. easy and very helpful. i alwasy hated history until i took his class :)
He really make history fun! If you enjoy history, take his class. It's great!
This guy knows what he's talking about, but all you do is take notes, notes, and more notes! He talks for the entire class, but you can tell he's passionate about history. He makes attempts to get the class involved in activities, but the fact is nobody cares. There is alot of work, quizes, and he makes you write a full essay on every test!Big Rese
His tests are hard and u have to write a full paper with every test. His projects are hard as well and he is a hard grader. the quizes are pretty easy tho. also u have to do a group project and present it in front of the class which I hated doing.
Took this class 3 weeks in the summer. This was a log class because it was 4 hours but he made it fun and interesting. Their is a test every week but he helps prepare for them. Projects are easy as long as you put in the effort.
I love American History, but this teacher does not make it interesting. His powerpoints are unclear, he basically puts them up there for himself, but they don't give enough information to us, the students. He knows alot about history trivia but never tests us on that kind of stuff. He's a pretty hard grader. He's okay, but I'd never take him again.
Wow! Mr. Fulton is amazing. I love his classes. His lectures have definitely taught me a lot. He knows what he is talking about. I have no problems with his grading I've done well in all his classes I've taken with him. Just be sure to take notes while lecture. Definitely a great teacher.
mr. fulton is a great teacher, hes young energetic and knows his stuff. his power points are not the clearest but he is the kind of teacher that talks and you just remember everything said. if you want a blow off class this is not it. but if you want to learn this is your class
Mr. Fulton is one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had! He takes a genuine interest in his students and inspires them to succeed. To those who complain about the notes and essays, get over it. This is what college is about, if you can't handle it I suggest you get out now. Fulton is knowledgeable and makes his classes interesting.
Mr. Fulton is stuck in history. He has a really weird style and sense of humor. He covers way too much material so it can be overwhelming. I stressed out over his test bc each test has multiple choice ?s PLUS A 5 PARAGRAPH essay. Since I am not a walking textbook, it was hard for me to prepare for these tests. TOO MUCH WORK. But easy grader.
Fulton is so sweet. He is a very knowledgable person, but his class isn't easy. You have to pay attention, take notes, read and study. You leave class learning so much information. Fulton is a real college professor. Plus, he's fun and dorky. I recommend if you're willing to work
He's an okay teacher. He is knowledgeable but not always good at helping his students learn the material. Fair grader but his powerpoints are not helpful at all. Not awful teacher but I wouldn't take him again
WOW is he gorgeous!!! a total history buff!! his tests aredifficult but as long as you study your study guide you should be good. I ended up with a B in his class and history is not my strong suit.
Mr. Fulton is the best! He is very funny and makes history interesting! His tests are long with essay questions, but if you study the study guide and take notes you will do well. He offers extra credit and your grade is based on more than just the tests. Plenty of projects are due to improve your grade if you are a horrible test taker. A++ professo
im sitting in his class right now and im not gonna lie it's boring as hell...plus if you love hearing "uhhs" and dumb jokes then take him!
I"m an A student, and his class was just beyond a waste of time for me. Everyday he just uses powerpoint for his lectures and says "ummm" after every sentence. It put me to sleep.I will never take this class again. I hardly learned anything, and his projects were not relevant to what was being taught in class. No extra credit, and is very very stri
Prof. Fulton was a very good teacher. His quizzes were very easy he goes over everything in class. The multiple choice tests were easy but the essays were pretty difficult. He wants alot of information to be put in them as far as dates and historical figures. I would recommend writing a full essay for at least 2 of the questions that will be put up
The projects have really nothing to do with the class. His tests are pretty hard and sometimes he is hard to reach when you have questions but he did know what he was talking about
very good teacher. he is an expert on his subject and does an excellent job of answering questions. his projects are a little of topic and pointless other wise he's one of the best professors ive had
Just an awful teacher. He think he is being cool by assigning projects having to do with Facebook and MTV Cribs but the projects are beyond tedious. Also, if you don't cite your work properly or he doesn't agree with a source of yours then WATCHOUT. Also during lectures, he will literally use "ummmm" about 200 times for every 50 minutes class
He assigns stupid projects like MTV Cribs, Facebook, and twitter. They arent that hard, but he is super stingy on citing, and if you do it wrong you get a bad grade. His powerpoints are useless. And he gives you the projects one after another, so you are constantly busy with his class.
NO. Take this class only if you plan on taking 1 class a semester. He assigns ridiculous projects, his notes are not clear, oh and not to mention makes you do a 5 paragraph essay on all tests. GOOD LUCK if you have him.
Take him as a last resort. Unless you enjoy doing dumb projects and taking notes on things that are not on the exams. Oh, and you better be good at citing your work.
i absolutely loved him. yeah he makes you write 5 paragraph essays for tests and gives silly projects, but its such an easy grade. before every quiz he lectured about everything on the quiz and if you have any questions before a test he'll answer even if its one of the essay questions. i never used the book and turned out fine. i highly recommend.
He was my favorite instructor throughout the whole semester. He makes you write a 5 paragraph essay question every exam. But if you complain about it what are you doing in college. He also assigns 3 projects that will last you the whole semester. He is hard with the citations but thats understandable. If you want a real college professor take him
I really liked Mr. Fulton. But his teaching style needs some work. His powerpoints are awful. So he puts a slide up and everyone copies what it says, and it doesnt say much, then he talks about something u need to know, but u miss it bc ur copying down the unhelpful powerpoints. Rough class to sit through. Cool guy tho...
Generally easy class, Mr. F is very helpful and makes sure everyone has a chance to speak up about problems before moving on. 2 medium sized projects towards the end of the semester. Show up to class, put in a little effort, you'll be fine. Basically tells you what's on each quiz and test, read and a little studying, and you're golden.
Awesome teacher! Very descriptive & really knows his facts. Study & take notes... The class will be a piece of cake.
I really liked him. I had him last semester and while some assignments are strange, they do go along with the class. He is super nice and if you need help with anything he will for sure help you.
Mr. Fulton will challenge you, but he's always there to help. As far as college professors go, I'd say he's still pretty laid back. He just wants you to get involved and have your own opinions. I also like that he doesn't have to look at notes or in a book much to teach. My only issue is that written comments on your papers are difficult to read.
Tests questions are straight from the readings. He gives you a study guide that includes the essay questions. Do the readings for the multiple choice questions. Pay attention to the lectures for the essay questions (reference the book too). 3 projects aimed for you to understand notable historical figures and places. Fun class.
VERY unorganized in aspects of his notes/power points. Everything on the paper he has us study for an exam is completely irrelevant, not to mention the days he has cancelled then dropped a project on us... did not like this class at ALL! he's nice but not a great teacher, you will find yourself lost very quickly...
He's nice and can be funny but his teaching is bad. His notes are very vague, he talks about unrelated history facts, he has made a change or two too suddenly, his study guides are not specific enough, quizzes random details in book, and updates grades and hands back things late. I might fail this class cause of his teaching. I don't recommend him.
Fulton was just not a very good teacher. His teaching techniques are pretty jacked up. He gives pointless projects (papers) that have nothing to do with current material. I had to write a civil war proposal the 3rd week of class when we were still discussing the development of the colonies. He is helpful if you need it but his study guides suck.
Mr. Fulton is such a great teacher. Very helpful teacher, and everyday he had me and the rest of the class laughing out loud, Very funny guy and puts history into relatable terms. Great teacher!
Mr. Fulton has beautiful eyes. I am not a history person at all but I truly enjoyed his class. His power points were helpful but the textbook is necessary! You have to read the chapters in order to pass the quizzes and the exams. An essay question is given with each exam - it's not too hard but not easy either. Some quizzes were take home. LOVE HIM
Super disappointed. Not at all what I expected. I know online classes are not easier than on campus classes but this dude takes the cake on keeping you ultra busy all semester.
I didn't like this teacher at all. He's very organized but doesn't appreciate hard work from his students and is an extremely hard grader. The class has a weekly discussion board post with some quizzes and projects/papers. He treats the class as if most of his students don't have 3-4 other classes they have work for. I don't suggest you take him.
As a history major, I found the material interesting but the work excessive and demanding for a 100-level online course. It is organized, but at times there were numerous lengthy writing assignments due in a short period. Excessive citation and book usage.
Learned a lot, really picky grader, gives too much work. Nice man, though.
Professor Fulton is a great teacher. You do have to do a lot of work and this is not a blow off class. He is also very helpful. Overall, I would recommend him.
Josh Fulton is one of the best professors at Moraine Valley. He rarely looks at any material since he's so knowledgeable and passionate about history. He wants you to participate and respects his students' opinions. Personally, I just took notes and didn't buy the book, but some people might need it. Be prepared for plenty of research assignments!
Overall pretty good professor. I probably deserved a C in this class but he gave me an A. Kind of odd teaching methods. Most of the stuff on the test aren't talked about in his lectures so use his study guides.
I dropped quickly after, but I'm sure he's a nice guy. Get ready to get in a group for presentations though. You do need the book.
I've taken Professor Fulton for two history classes and they were amazing! I was never a fan of history, but he made it very interesting. He was very helpful and he is a great teacher! And he's a cutie! Take his class! He's the best!
Professor Fulton is a guy who knows a lot about history. What was really tough was that he thought we all knew as much as he did. Lectures were very confusing and did not prepare me for the tests. He gives us the questions for the essays but expects you to finish 40 multiple choice questions AND the 5 paragraph essay for a 50 min course. very hard.
If you need to take History as a General Education class and are simply trying to get by with an easy A, this is not the class for you. If you take this course get ready to present in front of the class on multiple occasions, get ready to work in groups often, and get ready to read a book and write a paper on it. He's a good teacher but he is tough
3 exams 25 multi choice worth 40pts and essay prompt worth 60pts 5 paragraphs. He preps you for a four year. Great teacher take him you won't regret it.
Signed up for the m - f 8 -11:15 3 week class and it was the worst mistake. Seems like a good guy but can't put lectures in simple terms for you. I spent more time trying g to depict what he's saying that actually grasping material during lectures. Thought I was able to handle it but was very wrong.

I took the online summer course and usually I'm okay with doing the work for the class to get the A but this professor assigns way too much work. A minimum of 3 due dates a week, written tests, projects, etc. He grades a little strict, always asking for more detail and more depth for every answer.
Very nice, informed, and intelligent professor. He is a pretty young guy, gives fairly engaging lectures. Tests are easy if you take the time to study (not a whole lot of time at that). Overall I would take another class with him.
I took this course online as I work full time, would not take if you have a tough schedule and cannot always be at the computer. Expect 3-4 assignments a week. Except long papers, he is a tough grader, but will help if you ask.
Hes the worst teacher I've ever had in my life. he doesn't explain anything. he expects you to learn everything yourself from the book. reviews don't help at all. STAY AWAY
He is VERY passionate about history, and knows all there is to know and loves proving that to his students. He doesn't really care if you don't understand or you know what he is teaching you. It's your fault for not being smart enough. Also he demands that you participate in class, yet everything you say he will shoot down and it will be wrong.
He's a very nice and understanding teacher, and knows a lot about history. But the tests are pretty hard, he doesn't give you a good study guide and there's always an assignment to do every week. He doesn't give good notes and he mostly just talks.
Great teacher. Very Knowledgeable. Expects a lot.
Awful teacher!! He's a very nice person and he knows a lot about history, but he is an awful teacher. I'm studying to be a History teacher and the way he teaches is the exact opposite of how you're supposed to teach history. If you are going to take this class, be prepared to teach EVERYTHING to yourself outside of class.
This guy doesn't deserve the poor reviews given throughout this page. He was the best professor I had here and because of that I took two different classes (HIS-101/202) that he taught. I planned on taking a class lead by him for a 3rd time but the class time didn't workout with my work schedule. Do the work, show up, and participate.
He's not a bad teacher but if you're looking for an easy A stay away from this class. He's very knowledgable about history but it's kind of hard to understand his lectures because they're very long and hard to follow along while taking notes i feel like he goes too fast. He's a tough grader too. just show up do work and try and you'll be fine
Took him for my online college 101 class and he is pretty straight forward with his assignments. He'd give us a few discussion posts each week with a writing assignment but wasn't too hard. He does give you a ton of work tho, especially for final. As well as hour vids to watch for papers online, but not too bad if you skim. Would take him again!
I thought he was great--show up, do your work, wants to help you and will work with you.
Does not turn assignments on for online class until it is to late and then becomes rude when you try to speak to him about due dates. He is unprofessional and expects a TON of work for a one credit class. Wants you to watch hours worth of videos a week for a one credit class.
I had him for History 202 online, and it was a blast. Do the reading and participate, and he's great teacher to have.
Honestly, One of the most straight forward professors at Moraine Valley. You really don't need the book. The Chapter Quizzes are on Canvas, and they all are multiple choice. You will have a group project, but don't worry it's not difficult. Pick a good topic and you will be fine. You will have 2 Unit Tests and an Essay Portion. Attendance is a joke
Wonderful teacher. Great Lectures. Tough grader, but that helps reinforce material. If you really want to learn about History at Moraine Valley, this is your guy.
Mr. Fulton was an OK teacher. However, he always had the same comments for me on every single assignment. So, it was never really clear to me why he took off points. The reading isn't too heavy but you do have to study to pass his tests/quizzes. His tests consists of short answers and small essays so be prepared since it's timed. I took this online
Lectures are very vague and the online quizzes and discussions are where I do most of my learning. Tests are extremely hard because he is again vague on what you should study and he expects you to write a five paragraph essay using specific examples without the help of any notes. Only reason I am not failing is because the quizzes are open note.
I think he's a very good teacher however the notes on his lectures and the notes he has us write down never show up on the tests. In order to pass his texts you need to read the text book otherwise you will fail.
This class is supposed to be 1 contact hour/week, but this guy makes you watch hour long videos and so long articles and writing summaries on that. Honestly the most useless class ever, if you want to watch hour long videos every week and write summaries on it go for it.
I had him face to face, and it was fine. I showed up, did my work, and he was always interested and helpful. I got a good grade, and would take him again.
Really funny
Fulton is a solid choice to take for this class. His lectures are a little long and heavy, but he really knows his stuff. We did one group presentation in addition to 2 or 3 papers. Honestly its a 200 level class, so a bit more effort goes into it, but if you do the work you'll be fine. Don't expect to miss class and do well. Overall, id recommend.
Definitely enthusiastic on what he teaches. Very little work. Just show that you care and he notices. You never need the book directly in class but you should have it for online quizzes. Answers come straight from textbook. Not just a blow off teacher but definitely not hard at all if you put a little work into the class.
He will grade your work and tell you that you need more clarity every time. Even if you quote the book and other works. He does not give good feedback on grades and takes off a lot of point for little things.
Overall this class was very easy. There were a few major papers, a group project, and a handful of online assignments that counted towards the final grade but as long as you pay attention in class and meet all the requirements he asks for you'll do fine! There is an extra credit available as well.
Mr. Fulton is an amazing Professor. Mr. Fulton is down to earth and has a great sense of humor. I enjoyed his class.
Easy enough teacher, just know that he is somewhat narrow minded and a big cultural Marxist. Its obvious he is from the Noam Chomsky/John Green school of history, and his favorite book is probably A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. Be sure to pander to his views in your essays and you shall be fine.
Liked the class. he was up front, helpful, and I am going to take him again.
I took his online class it was easy however you have weekly discussion questions and a weekly quiz with one attempt and it is timed. you write a couple papers. it is an easy class as long as you do all the work that is required
had a great time in his class. learned a lot! he's great!
He's honestly a just fine professor. He's a very tough grader on everything. You have to put forth a lot of effort. He doesn't give you too much to do. Just stay on top of everything. He is always answering emails, though. He's good at that. He also always puts reminders up on when everything is due, which is beyond helpful. I recommend taking him.
I liked it. he was pretty up front about what you needed to do each week, and as long as I got it done, It worked ok and I learned. I'd take him again.
Fulton was great. I needed an online class b/c of work, and he was cool. you do the reading, follow units, and he was pretty fair. I'd take him for sure
take any one but him
Fulton was cool. took him last summer. you need the book, but he's ok to work with.
I had this class with him. he was pretty great.
Fulton is a tough grader but as long as you get the work done there should be no problem why you shouldnt pass. There are discussion posts, quizzes, 2 major tests including the final and 2 essay's. He offers extra credit and you dont need the book.
FWIW, he's a good dude.
He's not as bad as others describe him to be. Just do all the work with your best effort and you should pass no problem. He tells you what's on the test from the review and the final is laid out just like the tests. Not bad of a teacher, but you just have to put in effort if you want to get at least a B
Mr Fulton is a great teacher. His lectures are amazing and he is hysterical. He has a way of lecturing that makes you remember the lectures. Their is a fair amount of work, I learned so much that I didn't learn in high school. Take his class, you won't be sorry.
This class was a hybrid class where majority of the work was online and you only met once a week for a lecture and to take tests. This class consist of about 8 discussions, a few quizzes and extra opportunities, one test and the final. Fulton was a hard grader, but do the work and you're guaranteed to pass!
online classes can be weird, but Fulton was great. Got back to us quick, let us work on cool topics. I don't get the negative comments on him. do a little work, participate, and I got an A? it's not hard.
Yes, there is quite a bit of writing in this class, but it is def doable. So long as you do the assignments, you're in for an A.
I found that professor Fulton has a great personality that he brings to class, but his teaching style is not for everyone. If you're an independent learner and you feel confident that you can teach yourself majority of the material then his style is right for you. As a warning he requires a LOT of short essay writings and can be tough grader.
Decent professor but a very tough grader that expects a lot from his students.
A lot of reading, but Fulton was pretty great. I had some family stuff and he worked with me.
Really awesome teacher. As long as you do your work, youll be fine. Has a decent sense of humor, cares for his students.
He's a great history professor that isn't too test heavy, but when the pandemic happened, he did his best to keep teaching and actually cared as oppose to just throwing irrelevant projects at the class. I would take his classes again.
Professor loves history, uses a poorly written book and supplemental book. There is a lot of work for the points and effort required, but he tries hard to interest students and is a fair grader. Make sure you do his extra credit.
Fulton was cool. had him a few years ago. I did the reading, got an A, and he will help you if you need.
I had him the semester we transitioned due to COVID and he did his best to be accessible and make the change easy. We definitely used the textbook but the quizzes were fairly easy. History is a loaded subject so as with any instructor, just be prepared to work. He answers questions in depth and you WILL learn.
I had him during the transition in spring 2020 due to covid and he was really nice. He helped us during the stressful times and eliminated projects he saw as too challenging. Just show up to class take goods notes and ask questions and youll be set
I took this class fully online. His class structure was pretty messy and confusing. There were a lot of times where I felt he did require a lot of homework. It was hard not to get frustrated but he was a decent professor. Just do the work and you will pass the class.
Had Fulton a few years back. Hes the best!
He was totally cool and helped when I had a family member get sick. do the reading and you're good. great guy!
I've been interested in history for years. Fulton was the best. just loved his class!
Literally dont take this class. Hes very condescending and isnt clear on assignments. Run as far as you can. The work load is insane and you cant catch a break. He is a very hard grader as well.
Had a class with him a few years ago. He was really cool when I had problems with family, and he worked with me. Hes great.
Fulton loves history, so this was a cool class. Don't get the negative reviews. show up, read, and you're good.
Fulton was funny. like Dad jokes funny, but I loved the class and learned a bunch.
His online class is hard! A very tough grader with no actual explanation to the grade given. Was very vague and not helpful when I asked him for help or why I received the grade I did, like he wants you to figure it out by yourself
this class was great. did the work each week, and he had extra credit. I thought he was pretty good.
he was cool. liked him.
A terrible teacher gives no explanation for anything. The structure of the class is overall terrible. Does NOT give good feedback or instruction. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
VERY DISRESPECTFUL. If I could I would give him a 0.
All of the reviews on here are false this guy sucks. Doesn't give good feedback. Terrible grader. If you ask for an explanation on something he acts like you are dumb and don't know how to read the instructions. I literally asked him for better instructions and he just copied and pasted the original instructions.
Very unorganized online class
Had him in the spring. Really liked the class. I learned a lot!
I had to take college 101 like all students at Moraine and decided to take the 4 week course during the summer. This teacher does not qualify to teach this class. He is a history teacher that taught me more about historical statues then how to prepare for college. He brings up things in discussions that are irrelevant and does not offer help at all
He was a good professor when I had him. Pretty fun.
He was nice but his teaching style is very very difficult to understand. He's a very tough grader, doesn't let anything slide. The hardest exams I've ever taken in a class. You have to write a 5 paragraph essay off to the top of your head on the exams, and multiple choice questions that are very hard. He doesn't review for the exams at all.
ok professor, would post assignments the week they were due. does not respond to emails. takes points off for the littlest things. would not take this professor again.
I thought he was a good teacher, and I learned a lot. he's very understanding.
Professor Fulton is knowledgeable in his department. He is accessible and provides feedback. Feedback can be vague. Be sure you know how to cite properly before turning in work. Significant points are docked for improper citation. The class is mostly composed of writing assignments. Overall, if you read the books and do the work, it is an easy A.
total Easy A.
Fulton was great!
He is super low effort, and doesn't share his grading criteria, so it's hard to know what he's even looking for. his instructions are incredibly vague and his online section is super disorganized. he doesn't even respond to emails in a timely fashion, and when he does he is incredibly rude. admin needs to reevaluate his ability to teach.
You get what you sign up for, if you do all the assigments you will get an A. He isn't harsh, biggest advice is to use only .edu/ or academic journals for sources or he will knock off half the points you earn.
The work load for his online HIS101 is pretty spread out, weekly discussion boards, occasional quiz (multiple choice). 3 major assignments, 3 tests. He also gave us up to 40 points EC. You need to make time for his projects, for example, my history of bread assignment took me about 12 hours but I got a 95%. Put the time in and you will succeed!
Great professor. Lots of reading material. If you put in the effort it will result in a good grade. Heavy lectures and discussion posts are often. He knows his stuff! Would recommend.
I took this professor last minute since my previous class was dropped Professor Fulton was the only available one. His class was very interesting, and had great lectures as well. connected with students as best as he could. Although for quizzes and tests can be pretty heavy for those who take the class as a requirement.
*does not let you redo anything *must cite EVERYTHING *very hard grader *good 5 minute lectures
in two courses and its absolutely ridiculous. the discussion posts and quizzes were easy, but he graded harshly when it came to exams. paper is 4 pages but must cover tons of content, and if you don't go into detail, you will lose points. it felt like a lose-lose situation. glad im transferring this course to a university so my grade doesnt matter.
Professor Fulton is one of the harshest graders I have had when it comes to grading. He takes off 50% or more for incorrect citing and is a harsh grader on tests and exams. He also requires a ton of content to be in papers but has a page limit on it.
Needed to knock out a history credit this summer and didn't think at the time that this professor would be this difficult. He docked me two letter grades because I used an encyclopedia as a source, he claims he posted a proper source guide on canvas- he didn't.He also ignored two emails asking for it, and refused to even check if it was even posted
This professor is extremely vague in his questions. For example he asked about the Columbian Exchange but docked me points for not mentioning the violence. The class text has one paragraph on the topic and doesn't mention the violence, just the biology aspect. From where am I supposed to get that information from? He does give extra credit though.
As far as his grade criteria, he will dock you points for things he doesn't even mention in the project outlines. For the middle passage paper, he docked me points for not using a photo from before a certain year even though he didn't even specify a range, just to pick 5 photos of our choice. Completely unfair.
this teacher gave a lot of assignments every single day and wouldn't give even an extra day for people to finish them, and quizzes every day along with homework and lots of things on the same day, i would never take him again, he always needs intext citations and regular citations arent citation, feedback doesn't make sense at all.
I really enjoyed this class. An excellent teacher.
His information is interesting and not just stuff repeated from high school. Make sure you read direction carefully. Keep track of the deadlines. Follow the directions. And you will be fine. The work is worth it.
Okay first - you are given a syllabus- so make sure you read it. Every thing you need to know is there. There is a good bit of reading - so make sure to schedule your time. He really likes this subject and makes it interesting. You will have to write a paper. But it is covered in the syllabus so you have plenty of time to get ready.
This professor is great! His lectures are heavy and sometimes boring, but make sure you take notes of the slides and take into consideration when he says to star your notes because it will be on the exam. He gives out reviews before the exam so make sure you study the review because they are similar. Also you have 2 papers and 1 project, very easy.
Fulton is straight-up not a good professor. Very weird and strict grader with little feedback on why he takes off points. Loves to post all big assignments the week they are due. Takes forever to respond to emails. He makes the class so much more difficult than it is, a lot of reading with three different mandatory books you have to use.
I had Professor Fulton for HIS201 and 202 over the summer. There is a lot of homework assignments, a research paper, and books you have to buy. He's a tough grader, but always leaves a lot of feedback. Overall he does care about his students, you just have to try in the class, he gives a lot of extra credit opportunities as well.
The professor's lectures can be a bit dry, but taking good notes and using the review guides before exams is key. The workload is manageable, with a few papers and a project. For study prep, I found the unstuck AI platform very helpful alongside the textbook.
I have never wrote a rate my professor before but he is awful, please do not take. His instructions are not 100% clear and takes off points for the smallest things ever. His exams are only 40 minutes, there's just not enough time to even summarize and quote parts of the book. How is the exam less time then actual class periods, makes no sense.
WORKLOAD! WORKLOAD! WORKLOAD! If you don't like history, stay away. It added way too much stress when I should be focusing on other classes that are designated to my major. Make sure you read the syllabus, it's long but everything you need is on there. I took him online and he didn't get back to me through email as fast as I needed him to somtimes.
He was not a very cooperative professor like he wanted us to do a million assignments at once and turn them in that exact same day he the type of professor that will give you an zero on the entire assignment if you put a capital S instead of a lower case s like I couldn't with at times but I also blame myself because I know I'm a visual learner.
If you actually enjoy learning about history, this is the professor to take! You will definitely read a lot like A LOT. At the start of the semester, you may feel overwhelmed, but as long as you study and look over the exam reviews, you'll do fine! A lot of extra credit options as well.
This professor is a Great professor. I would recommend that anyone take his classes. He's very awesome and has amazing and Wonderful lectures. He's always willing to help whenever you need it, and he ensures that everything goes smoothly.
Good with grading quickly. Gives pretty good feedback and seems very nice! As long as you try and do the work he will grade fairly. I would take this course with him again 100%!! Assignments are sort of heavy but makes sense for the course!
