Never used the book, it was all lecture & lots of note taking, that is what he uses on the tests. Very funny, interesting stories and points of view on psychology. Is always prepared & expects the same from you; attendence is a must; allows you to use a page of notes for the tests. Essays are required but are easy and interesting. Great teacher!!

You will be entertained while learning psychology in his class. He is very funny, energetic and animated. He rocked my academic world at COS! You are required to write papers, but they are more to your benefit because the content is all about you, your thoughts and behaviors. You will totally text "LMAO" all the time, every time.

Great teacher. Class was definitely a breeze. You gotta show up to class though fellas. Class is fun, he's very entertaining and keeps your attention if your prone to zoning out like me. Has a great sense of humor and will help you to the best of his ability. If you want to take psych, I recommend Muller hands down.

Very funny class, lots of notes, really easy writing assignments, and sexy teacher...lol, but really he helps you out a lot, and attendance is essential, he only takes away about ten points in the whole semester if your not there EVER, but as there is a lot of notes, attendance is extremely important obviously. I would totally recommend this prof.

Josh is pretty awesome. Makes the class seem like half the time it should be. His stories are hilarious, and he drops them about every 5 minutes. You have to work to earn your earn in this class, however. There are multiple writing assignments. Attendance is vital for passing the class with an A. He's willing to help you out.

Muller was so far the best teacher I've ever had at COS. He keeps you interested in the material and always incorporates his own life stories to make the topic even more interesting. He allows a page of notes for every test so the tests are pretty easy too. He made me never wanna miss class! =)

AMAZING. Greatest teacher i have ever had. Im an Engineering major so psychology is far from my interest, but he is by far the coolest most interesting teacher iv ever had. Muller is an excellent professor! His class was the only class I actually enjoyed attending. His lectures are very helpful because he keeps them interesting rather than bore his students. Awesome guy! He loves what he teaches and he has and spends lots of energy in his classroom. Make sure you don't miss any classes because he will dock you for participation points. You will do lots of work including several short papers, but it is not extremely hard. He allows 1 page of notes for his tests (you have to write small - 8 font).

Very entertaining. I learned a lot. He's a cool guy. To get an A, all you have to do is listen to his lectures which are always funny and do the single page writing assignments. He even lets you do a page of notes you can use on the tests.

I took Muller's Social Psychology class in 2009 and it is still one of my favorite college courses, and my favorite at COS. His lectures are engaging and fun and he is very passionate about his field. His course inspired me to pursue researching. Wish I had taken him for Psych 1.

EASY! He's funny and cool to talk to. I usually forget a lot once I pass a class but I learned so much in his class I could probably Ace his final 5 years later. Great stories. I didn't buy the book since we only used it for the writing assignments. Let's you use ONE page of notes on tests and if ur class has the highest avg, open book final!!!

Over all good Prof. He is funny, but thinks he knows everything (what psych doesn's?) Spent my semester studying the book, and reading my notes. He wanted students to write about their personal lives, and I didn't agree with that. He wanted an indepth look at our dreams, fears, family etc in our writing. Other than that, it was a good class.

Excellent teacher! All is lessons were clear with the notes on powerpoint. He gave every lesson with a comical story about his own personal experiences relating to the lesson. It was hard to skip this class or become disinterested because of the instructor. Absolutely helpful, outgoing and hilarious! Looked forward to this class every week.

Extremely helpful and focused. He is passionate about what he teaches which makes it more interesting to learn. Cannot stop laughing and wanting to learn more. You will never want to miss class and shouldn't because the notes are 100% your test. I have the biggest teacher crush on him and its hard not to!

I took him over the summer and the class was great. We had a test once a week and a paper due once a week as well. As long as you attend the class, study the notes that he gives you and complete the papers he assigns you should do good. Essays are self explanatory and most of the notes taken and cues he addresses are most likely on the test.

Writing assignments are about your personal life: family, fears and dreams. Gives you VERY CLEAR instructions on the writing assignments. Exams are pretty simple as long as you take notes and listen to his lecture. Activities every Friday for points. Overall he is an awesome teacher and guy, who seems to get more attractive as the semester goes on.

I took research psych methods with Muller. It was a hard class, but he was really helpful along the way. He is willing to work with you, and loves to see his students during office hours! Don't take this class expecting it to be easy!

Awesome class U learn a lot of valuable info However, he can come off VERY RUDE. Hes highly IRRITABLE! In his class there IS such thing as stupid questions & he'll be sure to make u feel stupid. I asked 1 Q in class and he showed he was irritated by my question and gave me a smart answer, I never asked another Q again, very discouraging :(

Must attend to pass. Lectures are essential. Very knowlegdable and relatable. Tough tests but grades fairly. Have to work for your grade. Fair amount of writing and presentations. Gives one extra credit of 10 points equal to 2 in-class activities by attending the end-of-the year poster board presentations. My favorite teacher.

Love Muller as a professor and a person! He's very helpful. Throughout the semester you work on an actual study or experiment, and it's typically a group project. You really have to pull your weight, and it's hard to earn a good grade at the first few checkpoints of the project, but he gives great feedback and you will improve! I highly recommend.

He is very rude however I did learn a lot from this class. He makes things very clear and easy to follow however makes you feel like every question you ask is not worth his time. He later will ridicule you in front of the class. It's belittling. Tests are tough if you don't read so make sure you get the book.

I had him for Social Psych and also for Research Methods hes very helpful. He can be harsh at times but if you handle it everything will be just fine. Research methods is a difficult class and hes strict with grading but if you go to office hours he is friendly and answers all your questions. Very down to earth but also very professional.

Dr Muller is a solid choice! He has great personal stories that he relates to his lectures (even if there's a bunch, it makes time go by fast). His class was interesting and intriguing! His tests aren't hard at all, but don't slack off. He'll notice your bad effort in the class and will point it out if it continues.

He really gives you a clear understanding of the concepts and phenomenons along with real-life examples, sometimes about himself! He keeps the whole class engaged and with information that he gives, there's no way you can zone out. Highly recommended.

Does not give extra credit often and says he will not round our grade. Has A-/A policy. Attendance is important and random days he'll give in class activities that add up. 2 homework assignments and 1 presentation.

Muller has been one of my favorite professors to have. Whether your major is Psychology, or not, he is amazing. The lectures were very information-heavy, but he teaches them in a way that it becomes easy to understand. Professor Josh Muller is probably the most casual professor I have ever met. He is brilliant and really thought-provoking. His material is pretty difficult, and his grading is pretty intense, but he allows for extra credit. His free time is never really his free time because he gives so much to his students. He will answer any question you have.

Muller is truly a great professor, he wants you to pass his class. His tests are pretty straightforward, youre supposed to read from the book but as long as youre present for lectures and take notes you can get away with not reading. Dr. Muller is one of the best professors at COS and probably the state. He gives great lectures and makes the class inspiring and engaged. Doctor Muller was by far the best professor I had at COS. He gives you the necessary feedback to succeed at the next level. Accessible outside of class and is down to earth and I mean down to earth, no sugar coating anything. With this class it isn't entirely bad, you ultimately make it hard on yourself to be entirely perfect.

Okay so this class was very hard. It will make you question on staying a psych major. However, by the end youll be proud of what youve done. Make sure to read the book though! It will help you with the tests. As for the writing assignments, use Grammarly and read the APA manual, as he marks your grade down a lot for those.

I took his class via zoom due to Covid. It was alright. I am not a big fan of his humor, but I know others are. You have to pay attention to his lectures to do well on the tests. He grades fairly, make sure you pay attention to the instructions he leaves and you'll be fine.

Took this class during the pandemic and it wasnt too hard. His lectures were interesting and funny but you do have to show up to every class or youll miss a lot. There were only like 2 homework assignments and a few easy in class assignments. The tests were based on the lectures and pretty easy. He was really understanding definitely recommend.

Amazing professor.

Josh Muller is a great professor to take. He is very understanding and explains the lessons well. As long as you take good notes during the lectures and study before the tests, you'll do fine. There are a few essays you have to write (like 2-3 pages) but they aren't too hard. Also, he is very funny and likes to tell stories relating to the lesson.

This Research Methods class focuses on two things: communication and comprehension skills. You'll need to brush up on your communication skills if you want to have any success with the semester long research project. You'll need strong comprehension skills to pull out all the necessary information scattered throughtout the textbook and lectures.

I absolutely loved having Josh as my professor. Even though this class does not transfer to Fresno State, Josh was able to set an amazing foundation on what to expect at the higher level and gave me a lot of experience. He is very caring and truly wants you to succeed. Whoever complains about him as a professor is lazy. He will ALWAYS help you.

Very helpful in completing the research project. Even if you get bad scores on the homework assignments and as long as you pass your exams, you'll be good. He'll always offer to help and give you a grade projection. The exams are based off of the lecture and the ?s are in order from when you learned them

I loved this class and learned a lot. There is a lot of reading but he gives really good feedback on your work and I really appreciated that.

You need to show up to class, and take the best notes ever to study with. The whole class is a group project and it is so hard, you have to give more than 100% to pass at all. Take this class alone in a semester, maybe with one other class because of how demanding it is. Your grade is basically test and project with couple points from assignments.

Dr. Muller was a wonderful professor. He is very tough on students but only to encourage you to succeed. The class is one large group project so be prepared for that alone. Attendance is 100% mandatory, he only gives you a few days you're allowed to take off. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to take one of his classes again!

This is by far my favorite class. I will be honest, it is rough, but if you are passionate about Psychology then you will push through. He is extremely transparent with the class, he is a great instructor, and he is a funny guy. This class is based around a semester long research project, so be ready. He grades tough, but its all for good reason :)

four semesters here and muller is by far the best professor I've had. i didn't know lectures could be so interesting before this class. he's a great lecturer and super hilarious. attend class, take notes from lecture, make flashcards of them, memorize them and you'll pass the exams. follow rubric EXACTLY for homework and you'll do good. do the EC.

Professor Muller is an amazing professor that any student should take advantage of if given the opportunity to enroll for his class. Taking organized diligent notes will greatly improve your exam scores, for they are straightforward and coincide with the material of lectures. Most important part to passing this class is learning to laugh to learn

Lectures are fun and a safe space for everyone. Muller makes sure to take his time and explain the content. He is probably the first teacher that I have had at COS that actually makes time for his students in and outside of class. The reputation of this class is scary, but he always tries his best to help out. I 100% recommend taking his class.

Muller so far has been the best psych professor I had. His class can be challenging but if you put the time and energy into it you will pass. He also is very blunt and cares about his students' success. He will help guide you to pass the course if needed. I would retake his class if I could.

Astounding professor, by far the best teacher I've ever had in my life. Cares deeply about students and their projects. Very blunt but a genuine and hilarious person. Be ready to put in the work and study your lecture notes. If you are looking for an easy class, this isn't it. Group project and exam heavy but he is willing to work with you.

Only took 5 test throughout whole semester, no final or midterm and all the criteria on the test is from lecture and all multiple choice. Lectures are also very interesting and funny, he makes learning fun.

Took his 4-week course to fulfill my credits for my 4-year university. Dr. Muller is awesome I recommend him. He puts the effort to help and gives amazing feedback. He is very picky when it comes to citations. So just give credit from where you get information from, and you will pass. Just follow deadlines/rules. Does require textbook of $80

Professor Muller is awesome. This class is difficult, but if you study for your exams and cooperate with your group- you'll do fine. I don't know many students who utilize his office hours; I definitely recommend going if you are struggling. He is hilarious and seems like a cool guy.

took his 4week course to fulfill my GE credits for Stanford University. Dr. M is one of the best professors I've had! Easy to reach/manageable assignments! (Learn to cite! I never lost points, but he is picky with other students not citing). As long as your diligent with the schedule you will pass! He has all modules open to get ahead. TextB - $80

The best + most challenging class I've taken. Clear instructions and expectations. Lecture heavy but Professor Muller is interesting and actually really funny. Went above and beyond to make himself available to students. Yes, a tough grader but as long as you attend class, correct errors and study, you'll pass. Don't be late, and stay off phone!

His class is hard it will not be easy, the group project can be a killer. He cares about his students he just pushes them for the next level. You will become familiar with his grading and will do fine. Study, ask questions, and stay ahead of the deadlines for the project. His class is the reason I fell in love with psychology.

Professor Muller is a great lecturer. His lectures are always entertaining and he defines the concepts he is teaching perfectly. He is a very tough grader, be ready to put in the work. Make sure to find good group mates for the semester long project, trust me it will make life so much easier.

He is an overall great professor. He may be strict at times but it's in a way that shows he cares. By far one of my favorite professors. He breaks things down in a way that makes it easy to understand and always answers questions to clear up any confusion. He grades a little strict but always offers extra credit. Great class, loved it.

I understand why some people don't like Dr. Muller. He does have a tendency to cuss and make some crude jokes during lectures and be blunt, but at least he's honest with you. His class is mostly note taking and occasional group activities, but he encourages his students to take notes in a way that helps them understand the material.

A great teacher, actually cares about his students. His lectures are very entertaining and informative, learned a lot. Attendance is mandatory and will be docked points if even late, but besides that really easy class because of the way he teaches and very organized semester. the terrible reviews actually did scare me at the beginning. Muller is actually really funny and a great teacher. He is a tough grader just because he wants to prepare us for whats to come. Every point counts in this class and so does attendance. Overall i had a blast and would definitely take his class in another course.

Overall, he's a great professor. He has interesting, easy-to-follow lectures; he's funny; his exams reflect the lectures quite well; etc. However, I rated him a 4 (not 5) because he tends to not be very understanding of students when they are unable to attend his class. E.g., if you miss an activity for a good reason, he doesn't let you make it up.

This is a very hard class but Muller is a great professor. He has easy to follow lectures and will answer any questions you have. He is always more than happy to work with you if you need extra help. This is the last class to get a psych degree and he wants the best for his students. Show up every day and don't be afraid to reach out for help.

Best professor ever!!! Even though his test were a bit long and hard he was very helpful. He does extra credit and easy 10 point homework assignment. Highly reccomend!!

Attendance matters, the tests are based off the lecture so just take good notes and study them. 5 tests, 6 homework assignments that are easy just follow instructions. 16 activities done in class which are pretty fun. He usually has a story that goes with the lecture and they're pretty funny and can help you memorize. I highly recommend his class!

Muller is an amazing professor! His exams were strictly based on his lectures, but he doesn't post his notes so attendance is mandatory. His lectures are very engaging, making learning a little easier. If taking general psych, choose Muller!

He is funny and makes his lectures fun. His activities correspond with the content making it easier to understand. He is a tough grader although he does explain his expectations for assignments very thoroughly. He is also really good at responding to emails, never had an issue with not being able to reach him or get quality feedback.

Muller was one of the best professors I had. He cared a lot for his students and was always inspiring. He is very clear on what he expects from his students, which is why he is stricter with grading. He does not mess around with attendance or with participation. Highly recommend him to anyone.

Genuinely one of the greatest professors I've had. He wants you to learn and create an environment where you have to hold yourself accountable. Tough class, but he offers a lot of support/easy points towards the end of the course. Super lecture-heavy and gives exact information that will show up on exams. Provides great constructive criticism.

Muller is an amazing teacher. Yes the class itself might have been difficult although Mullers teaching skills made it 100 times better while he pushes you to do great not only in class but in preparation for the future as well. Definitely could not imagine taking this class with any other professor
