Awesome professor. Being in his class, you'll gain so much insight if you listen. It's always stimulating, and enriching, and you'll probably come out of the class a better writer and thinker. A very refreshing teacher. OH, and I found he was very helpful with my papers, and looked over rough drafts before the final grading.

Cool guy, not such a great teacher. He hardly ever came into the class with a plan. He took almost all of my interest out of the class, although it was a pretty easy A. Definately wouldn't take another class with a teacher who said literature isn't about reading between the lines.

hes very funny, and he definitely listens to your opinion. He also helps you on your papers if you need it- hes very encouraging, and ia ctually look forward going to this class. there are 3 papers and a quiz once a week on the reading- but the quizzes are very easy as longa s youa ctually read the poems/plays. definitely recommend him!

He is easy, he is nice, but he would make you sleep. No midterm and final exams, a quiz for every reading, and 3 3-pages long papers.

He is not as easy as some people made it sound. You definitely need to do the readings and very carefully at that. The quizes in the beginning of each class were really annoying and tricky. However, once you get past the pesky quizes he is an amazing teacher. His papers are pretty easy and he goes over them with you. I learned a LOT from him! A+

he's a great professor, i got an A in his class. honestly though i did work for that A but he is willing to help you to get that A as long as you are willing to come to class and do the readings. there are quizes like every other day and they are a pain in the ass but it really isn't that hard as long as you do the readings.

A great teacher. He gave me extra credit to pass his class even though I should have failed since I exceeded the amount of absences allowed for the course. Just some advice, DO THE GRAMMAR BOOK, it boosts your grade a lot than you would think.

First off his name is Joshua and is this professor hottt. He made me want to do my assignments. He is funny and nice and after grading your essays he lets you do it over again if you aren't satisfied with your grade. If you put a little effort you can easily get an A+.

He is awesome, make sure you read, bc he has quizzes in the beginning of class... he drops the 3 lowest quiz grades, make sure you participate, bc that is the midterm grade, no actual midterm, open book final, online quizzes, essays r pretty easy he helps you with those. No notetaking required!!! Great prof.

His name is Josh not Jason..and he is super HOT!! The only reason I showed up early for an 8:10 class last semester! As long as you read and have an understanding of what is going on, you will be fine. Don't expect an easy A, but expect to learn and have interesting discussions...and if you're a girl to drool all class! :)

He is very nice, you must speak in the class and participate in discussions, he quizes on the readings which are very easy if you read, and he gives essays which he lets you rewrite them and then rases your grade. nice teacher, he does not like if you don't pay attention.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had. Being in his class is like actually fun. There is a lot of reading and writing, but that is too be expected from an English class and he is an easy grader. He is also super hot! I highly recommed you take his class.

Professor Schneiderman was extremely friendly, never made you feel redundant or out of place. The readings were broad, and were fantastic as an introduction to the world of Literature. He is an extremely fair grader- strive for clarity and use of sources and you'll be fine. He will never bash your insights, even if they don't make sense, he's cool!

Extremely good professor. Allows you to rewrite your papers if you want a better grade. Tests are fair. He always give a review of what's going to be on the test. There is no way anyone can not get an A if you read and attend class.

Easy A: just get his inexpensive coursepack to read in class, write 3 essays (that you're allowed to rewrite), final + midterm (which are open book). he's really down to earth and understands if problems come up. plus he allows 6 absences before failure.

Good Professor

He is a very good professor. I would definitely take any other classes he teaches. There was much use of the coursepack and some novels. 3 essays and the final was very straightforward (no curve balls or anything). Someone mentioned 6 absenses..it's 3. He has a great sense of humor and is extremely nice! Take him if you get the chance to :)

i love him. He is extremely helpful and always to try to make whatever he is talking about relevant to today or to the student's "life". He has a prepared coursepack which is pretty cheap and some of the works in there are actually interesting. He's not bad looking so you'll definitely be able to pay attention in class.

The whole class related to this guy. He teaches with a style that I will use when I become a professor ( Sociology). Laid back, engaging but expects the work to be done. He even showed me a trick when proof reading my paper!!!! IT WORKED lol

Amazing teacher who was able to turn a very difficult course into a rather enjoyable class. However, be prepared to do work if you want to get a good grade. Very helpful and lets you rewrite your papers if you were unsatisfied with them. One short paper (4 pages), midterm (easy), and a final paper (10 pages, seems hard at firs but he will help you)

Prof. Schneiderman is a great professor. His teaching style is very contemporary, even if you are learning 19th c. literature. He is easy going and not very strict. There are two papers in all, the second one is usually a take home final, and a mid-term. He's not a harsh grader, but wants to see that you're learning. Highly recommend him.

Awesome! He is a young professor and teaches like one. Easy open discussions and a laidback atmosphere. 2 papers and quite a bit of reading but as long as you participate regularly you should be fine. Handsome to the extreme :)

This is a good class to take if you are not looking for something with a supremely heavy workload. There are two papers in total-- a midterm and a take home final. Prepare to read and participate in class and you should be fine. Super funny. Super chill. Ridiculously handsome. Great class that doesn't feel like a drag!

Josh is really laid back and tries to get to know his students by starting out class with an "ice-breaker" question. Knows how to narrow down the readings to the main points and lets his students voice their opinions on the subject. Worth taking!

If go to class and do your work there is no way you would, fail. He gives us interesting topics to consider, things we never heard of. I have expanded my knowledge more in his class than any other class.

He is a great professor to take for English. I took his composition 2 class at Guttman, and it is by far my favorite class. I strongly recommend everyone to take his class.

Prof. Schneiderman is great!! Finally in an english class that doesn't bore me to death. I really loved the curriculum and he made it fun! He is down to earth and is very relatable. He is a great teacher and is obviously intelligent. He knows how to balance teaching his students in a professional way but being a chill, laid back, relatable guy.

Schneiderman is honestly the one of the best English professors in Hunter. He really does care about your grade and makes class very enjoyable, it was a very laid-back environment. He lets you re write papers and gives you good feedback. I would definitely take him again for sure!!

Laid-back. You're graded on a shorter paper, a longer research paper final, and an in class presentation on a specific section of reading. ProTip: Get it done EARLY. Solid reading choices. I came in scared of American Lit and have been really pleasantly surprised. Also, he's hot. So there's that.

The coolest professor ever!! He is super laid back, and makes even the most boring literature enjoyable, He is also super funny, and his assignments are very straight forward and he is not a tough grader. One 5 pager, one 10 pager, and a presentation (get the presentation done early in the semester) Would definitely take him again.

Class is largely discussion based, a respectful environ. Organized & clear on expectations. Caring/considerate of students time & workload. The person who complained of not learning/improving in writing - this is not a composition class, & learning depends on your participation. If you speak with him, he will work with u on any skill happily!

Prof. Schneiderman is such a good choice for english220. Graded on very few things. had 4 papers all semester and a final which probably won't count. Got let out early every day, and class was overall very very chill and relaxed.

He's a cool dude and has a great sense of humor. There's a presentation, and 2 papers. There's an extensive reading list which is hard to keep up with. Try to keep with the readings, do the papers, and you'll be fine.

Such an amazing professor. He was mindful of our workload and gave us readings that were doable and very thoughtful. His essays made you think outside the box, but he offered to help by looking over our drafts if we needed. Participation matters, it is almost 30% of your grade, but he makes the atmosphere welcoming so it is not that scary.

Love this prof so much. He is hilarious and super chill. He makes the class entertaining and that was nice. Not a harsh grader what so ever. He dismisses the class early sometimes so thats a plus. Just take him and you can thank me later.

This is the greatest professor you'll ever take in college. He's very chill, and very understanding. If you can't make class a few times, he won't penalize you for it. He's very cool and very entertaining. TAKE HIM!

I had him during fall of 2020 (online) and he was my favorite professor. We only had two readings and one discussion board boast per week. A few papers and that's about it. He gives plenty of time to do all the work and because of the pandemic, he gave me extensions on the papers whenever I needed them. Classwork is pretty easy too.

Professor Schneiderman is a real gem. It was a pleasure to learn from such an incredible teacher. He is kind and encouraging, allowing his students to grow as writers. He is empathetic towards everyones situations and makes his class flexible. He doesn't require attendance, but the day he runs his class makes you want to show up.

Just take him! He is a such nice professor!!!! If you submit things on time and work hard on them, you will get A easily. He is so caring that he would extend deadline for our paper if you ask in the email for a reason. Love him! Definitely recommend!

I had him in Fall 2020 semester and he was amazing. The class was super laid back and the hw was easy (usually just a discussion board post). We had a few essays, but he gave a lot of time to do them. If you ever needed extensions, all you had to do is ask him beforehand and hed give it to you. Hes very lenient with grading too (effort A).
