Dr. Foster surprisingly showed a inique interest in the lower half of his class. He offered suggestions on how to improve and basically did a very good job introducing psychology.

Dr. Foster availed himself to every student in my class who felt the need for one on one assistance. He loves teaching psychology and his passion for social psychology was very impressive to me. It peaked my interest and gave an otherwise boring class an uplift.

Ok...here is the deal with his PSY 120. You get .2 bonus points every time you show up for class (averages out to be about 1 letter grade if you go to every class). The in class tests are pretty difficult, unless you go to the S.I. (who gives you all the answers on the test) and there is a 200 question take home test which is pretty tedious, but no

I liked his class. He goes over lots of experiments and some are really interesting. He does go into extreme detail about things and also goes off topic a lot. He's also very liberal (so am I, so I liked it), but I think some of that is just how social psychology is. The research makes you think and that is not something conservatives like to do.

He loves to go on and on about psychology and is brilliant with what he speaks about. however, when it comes to the tests, they're not even close to what he said. The book is hardly used except for a few quizzes. Good if you dont want to go to class!! but the exams will kick your butt!

I loved intro to psychology. i considered changing my major because of dr. foster. Don't go to class sleepy or you may fall asleep because he always dims the lights, but the material was usually really attention grabbing. He gives extra-credit for attendance and SI. he also gives a 200 question take home test, plus a final and midterm. Go to class.

Cool class. Foster had an odd fascination with the show Miami Vice. He constantly dropped quotes from episodes and gave extra credit points if you knew the context of the episode. The weird part was that he wore a lot of Panama Jack shirts and tried to emulate Crocket with his wardrobe. He often wore pastel jackets with white loafers. Weird

He's pretty awesome. He once brought his motorcycle into class and had students time how fast he could ride around the room. I think he might be bipolar.

He once wore a generic superhero costume to class: tights and cape. He acted like it was completely normal,never said anything about it. I think his wife buys his clothes for him. Overall though, a pretty awesome class, I learned a lot.

This guy is awesome. He's a true thinker and is interested in lots of different things. Some of the idiots in the class hate him because they can't pass his exams. But trust me, if you can't do well in his class then you don't belong in college. His questions come DIRECTLY from the lectures and book. Lots of students gets As in the class.

Dr. Foster's class is definitely NOT too hard. His tests only cover 2 chapters at a time (and the book is EASY to read) and his final is not cumulative (just the last 2 chapters). He even give projects that are basically extra-credit because almost everyone gets perfect scores. Anyone who doesn't do well in this class should not be in college.

Dr. Foster is possibly the greatest teacher, no ..... greatest human being alive. He taught me more about the mind and soul than any other instructor, he also taught me how to love again. I lost 35 pounds of fat after listening to his lectures, and I finally play the banjo again.

Social psych was something I had zero interest before I took Dr. Foster's class, wow he is amazing. He has the sexiest mind and dont get me started on his wicked hot look. I'm happily married to a beautiful wife but I will drop her in a second to spend more time listening to his lectures, just to be around him. The world makes sense due to him.

Dr. Foster is Andy Kaufman reincarnated. Total deadpan humor. He once spent an entire class reading from Animal Farm. He never once took his eyes of of the book and when the class ended, he simply closed the book and walked out without saying a word. TRIPPY!

This class is WAY too hard. His tests cover TWO chapters instead of one and, although he lets us use open notes and books, he doesn't allow us to talk during tests or even Google the answers. He such a meanie!!! Oh, and he does give us these extra-credit projects, but we have to go to the library to do them. Not fair. We have to work for it!

Greatest poly-sci teacher of ALL TIME!!!! Also, best teacher for the chemistry labs, and should probably teach physics as well!!!! Kind of a jack-of-all trades with magic flowing from his fingertips. Definitely recommend.

I found him very very easy. I had the 3rd highest grade in the class. His tests are really easy if you go to class and read the text book. He has two easy project which are 10 percent of your grade and 4 tests worth 90 points. No cumulative final. If you do the work he is easy...

Incredibly knowledgeable on this field of study. Dr. Foster is a Social Psychology master and will answer any questions without a blink. Two grades for the entire semester... midterm 45% and final 55%. We were able to use our notes and the book for both. GREAT GUY... couldn't imagine taking anyone else for this subject matter!

Absolutely AMAZING teacher and he is funny as hell. The test are quite long but you get to use your book. However, that should not substitute going to class because he asks questions from lecture as well. Plain and simple, if you dont like this guy... there is something wrong with YOU. He's awesome. Loved this professor!! His use of humor helps keep your attention when your butt and back are aching from 2 hours in an UNCOMFORTABLE desk. His honesty is refreshing. The best advice that I could give anyone taking this class is to read the book. Foster is an awsome teacher and does not make the class harder than it has to be. Took him for Intro Psych. It was an easy class. You have to read the book and it helps if you go to class. He does all he can to help you and accommodate you. There's really no reason for anyone to get lower than a B in this class unless you just don't care. I recommend him.

The class wasn't too hard as long as you take really good notes and go to class. The tests are difficult at best, but you HAVE TO read the book! Dr. Foster wrote it, so of course you are required to read it. Don't neglect the projects either, they will save your grade!

Wow this class was really great. He is a great teacher and a great guy and know what he is talking about. I love Dr. Foster! I recommend him to any student at South who takes Intro to Psych. Students must read the book because he wrote it (which is cool). Don't worry about the SI study guides because they don't help. You must go to class, but it is worth it because he is hilarious.

Dr Foster is fantastic! His class is interesting and engaging. Attendance is a must, as he covers material required for the exams. The book is online, must have because of graded quizzes. By far the HARDEST class I have taken @ South. Exams r very tricky & HARD. I read the book, STUDIED hard, took notes etc. still NEVER received higher than a 60 on exams. I am an A/B student 2. This is the 1st ever class I am going 2 have 2 drop. My suggestion? AVOID this class. The professor is GREAT, very intelligent. Tests are super HARD though.

Only meets once a week. uses power points. take good notes and youll be fine. all of the tests are online except the midterm and final The one online can be taken 3 times! Every chapter is not covered in class so you do have to do quite a bit of reading on your own to take all the exams. Pay attention and read!

Must go to class each week, you only meet once. Getting the bool is a must! Keep on the online tests, do not wait til the end to do them. Overall will help you with the course as much as possible. Listen in class take notes but you still must get the book read it and keep up with the class.

He is very interested in psychology and makes the subject very interesting. The book is online, but it is so long and dense that I had trouble keeping up with the reading. You can take the quizzes up to 3 times which helps your grade. My class was only one day a week for 50 minutes which I feel was not sufficient for his lectures.

Foster was an extremely easy teacher with an extremely easy grading system. You have an in-class exam every other week along with an online quiz that you have 3 attempts to take. Easy class.

TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He wants all his students to do well and will help you after class if needed. The course wasn't tough. Quizzes are online, tests are in class. We met once a week and got extra credit on in-class exams for attending lecture. He is extremely generous with his grading method. Overall, South needs more professors like Dr. Foster.

I had this class as a partial online class. Every other week we had an in-class exam and an online exam. If you go to class he will give you the most difficult information that will be on the exam. And if you listen to the online lectures, you should do good on the in-class exams. The online exams are more difficult, but you get multiple attempts.

There is a lot of material to cover. But, if you actively read and take notes, the online tests and in class exams will be a piece of cake. Just make sure to review your notes frequently. I enjoyed the course and passed with an A. Get all 10 subject pool credits and do exceptionally well on tests and you may be exempt from the final, like I was.

Four tests and you're done for the summer course. Super easy. Book was online.

I love Dr. Foster! He is really down to earth and funny and seems like the type of guy you want to be friends with. Also, he is a great teacher and really seems to enjoy and try hard at his job. The class consisted of lectures. The tests are mostly lecture notes but it's v easy to follow along in class. One of the best teachers at South.

I had trouble in this class because Dr. Foster likes to drift away from what he's talking about to tell stories that connect to the lecture but not as much as you need it to for it to make sense. He is rather funny though and he brought his two young sons to our class regularly which was both distracting and adorable!

Over the course of the semester, I collected a total of 120 extra credit points from Foster, and I didnt even take all the ones he offered. He bumped everyones grade up to the next letter grade if you were within 2 points. Needless to say, take foster. His exams are verbatim from his lecture slides and hes interesting.

STUDY. THE. SLIDES. The only reason I have a low grade in this class is because I underestimated his first exam. Study all of the slides and you will be fine! He gives tons of bonus opportunities and has a passion for the subject. By no means is he an easy A, but if you put in a little effort it can be.

He is monotone but very effective teacher. Each of the exams were based off of the slides and lectures so they were very easy. Make sure to study though cause the questions can sometimes seem tricky. RECORD LECTURES!!!! exams are 100% lecture based so if you miss class, take bad notes, or done pay attention you're screwed. great teacher who is very caring and understand, he re-opened 2 different quizzes for me due to computer complications. he wants to see students succeed.

Prof. Foster is hands down the best prof i've ever had. He's very educated on the topic and even helped write the textbook you use. He has such a passion for psychology it's amazing. Dr. Foster is a great professor and you can tell he loves what he does. His lectures can get a little boring because of his monotone. Attendance isn't mandatory but will help you on the tests.

(Fall 2019) If you don't do well with long lectures maybe reconsider. Dr. Foster provides lecture-based powerpoints regardless of attendance but I wouldn't rely on them. If you just come to class and take notes in a way that helps you understand, you should be alright. Exams are long, but they're multiple-choice so just review the notes!

Dr. Foster is a great professor whose lectures I found to be very interesting and informative. He is a nice guy who grades fairly, cares about his students, and has very reasonable expectations for them. His assignments are straight-forward and not complicated, which makes his class pretty easy to pass as long you put in some effort. I recommend!

Easy class as long as you do the work

Literally 12 quizzes nothing else. Two attempts on all quizzes and whatever you end up making on them all is your grade. He has lectures posted but they don't really help. You basically teach yourself because the quizzes are from the book. Also, the quizzes are not easy i thought it would be a easy A but it is not.

It's an easy class. 7 quizzes and 3 tests (open book). You must read the textbook for the quizzes and watch the lectures for the tests.

Overall, not a bad professor at all. He is very nice and understanding. However, his lectures are QUITE long. The tests are open book/notes (along with the quizzes), but dont take this class expecting to find everything on quizlet because you WILL NOT do well. He does make his own tests, and they are very simple if you watch the lectures.

This class was completely online and I had zero problems. Watched the lectures he uploaded took the quizzes and test without any issue. If I had questions, I would email him and he would help me have a better understanding of the topic. Overall, great teacher.

Definitely one of my favorite classes I have taken, I literally completed the entire class by the fourth day of school, you definitely need to read the book to do well on the quizzes but if it is interesting to you like it was for me the quizzes feel natural. The content of the quizzes is a good mix of definitions and applications of the material.

Dr. Foster is a solid choice for psychology. This was an online class for me, and his syllabus was extremely clear. There was a reading quiz every other week. The three exams were lectured-based, but he has printable notes to use on the exams! Ten credits were required on subject pool, but they're just surveys! Super easy class and great teacher!

I had PSY120 online and Dr. Foster was amazing. He is very accommodating if you let him know you have something going on. Textbook is expensive, lectures can be long, but the class is very easy and everything comes from his lectures. Very nice, very organized. Take him if you can!

This was a very good introduction to psychology. As long as you watch the lectures and utilize all online material it is easy.

I'm currently taking his intro to psych class and it's been great so far. In class, we listen to his lecture and all of our assignments are done outside of class. You can tell that he is passionate about what he teaches. The lectures do feel like they drag on sometimes but it's still really enjoyable.

He's a nice guy and gives help to students who need it. He only grades on quizzes that are proctored so that can be challenging. You definitely have to study but it's doable. I'd recommend him but only if you want to put in the work to do well.

This was supposed to be a psychology class but all we did was read Dickens, Woolf, and Austen. I dunno. It was pretty good, but not what I expected.

He tells you everything that will be on tests, and reading quizzes come straight from the book. If you were to fail this class that is entirely on you. He even uses attendance as bonus points towards the upcoming test. His lectures are wonderful and he is overall a great professor.

Professor Foster is one of the only psychology professors at south who actually knows and is passionate about the subject. Attendance isn't mandatory, but the exam material is heavily lecture based. He also uses attendance for bonus. So go to class!! You will easily pass this course if you work for it; if you don't you are destined for failure.

Attendance is mandatory but he basically just reads off the slides/ goes down pointless rabbit holes the whole class. The tests have been fairly easy with 2 As and a B. He gives extra credit. There is a study guide hidden in the syllabus that most don't know ab. It is an easy class tho just very boring! We also have optional days after every module

Dr. Foster's a really good speaker. He explains stuff in a way that makes sense. He's funny, and you can tell he knows what he's talking about. He's got a lot of stories from his life that makes the class more interesting. He's super excited about psychology and also down to earth. He also makes fun of himself a lot which is funny.

I'm probably getting a C in the class and that's better than I was doing. He's good at what he does but you have to go to class is you want to pass. He gives the slides but you can't just skim the slides and book and hope to pass. If you can't go to every class don't take this class.

Quizzes: open notes/book, come from book. Exams: closed notes/book, come from lecture. Quizzes easy, exams harder. But exams only cover 2 hours of lecture per week, so not that hard. Come to class, pay attention, study, and you'll be fine. He's a nice guy and easy to talk to. Cares about his students. Go to optional classes and ask questions.
