Learned a lot. Take him.
Very nice professor but I found this class to be very difficult. If your not good at math find an easier professor. There are 4 exams and a two part final. Usually a quiz every week and your lowest one will be dropped. Graded homework and if you do well on your final your lowest exam will be replaced by the better grade.
Very solid professor. Tough class, but calculus is fairly complicated, so it is what it is. He is a good lecturer, and if you pay attention you will do well. If you ask his for help, he provides it. Overall, his class was a pleasure.
Very tricky professor tests are extremly hard. homework is tricky also. no curves no tests dropped.
Tests are difficult but he makes the material very understandable. Would take again in a heartbeat. Prepare to study and to take good notes!
His lectures are clear and helpful... It's just that his exams are tough..
He's an awesome teacher with a great personality. Trig is not an easy subject so Danufsky tries his very best to help you pass. Very helpful, especially during office hours. Attend class or else you will fall behind by just missing half a lecture. Consisted of homework, in-class work, no quizzes, 6 tests. Recommend the tutoring (TU 301).
Honestly, he is an amazing/friendly professor. He knows his material very well and tries to make the material as easy as possible for the students. If you show up, do your homework, and put in effort, you will do perfectly fine in this class. He tries his best to help and encourages students to ask questions. Would take him again in a heartbeat!
Great professor. I went into his class hating math and left seriously considering becoming a math major. He's chill, no ego (always appreciates if you point out mistakes), patient and understanding. His tests are pretty tough but he creates classwork designed to help you review, and if you do those you'll ace the test.
This is my first time taking Trigonometry; going knee-deep into this college course proved very overwhelming to me. Danufsky tries the best he can to help his students wrap the concept around their heads. Considering this is a MW class, it proved only more difficult for me. Attendance is not required after the first weeks but, highly recommended!
Hmmm not the best, nor the worst professor either. Calculus is already a difficult subject but it's still possible to pass if you try to come to his office hours a few days before tests. Questions from exams might not always be straight from the book, so it's crucial that you make up & practice "critical thinking" problems as well. Just a heads-up.
He does a good job clearly explaining the material. Tests are challenging, but doable if you keep up with the hw and study.
Took him for both Math 3A and 3B. Fast-paced and gives a lot of information in a short amount of time. Lots of homework both semesters. Felt like reviews before tests were more helpful the first semester than the second. The second semester was more challenging because of integration technique and so his tests felt more difficult.
one word: Horrible! this professor has no time management skills. he was so behind schedule that he had to rush through every lecture and he rarely did more than two examples for each section. He was teaching until the VERY LAST day of the semester and he had to set up a video chat with students over the finals weekend to answer questions.
Last rater is flat out WRONG. It's a calculus class - it's fast paced, what do you expect? The prof did tons of examples especially at the end when we got to integrals. Then he spent 3 hours answering our questions with online video office hours on the weekend! Good luck finding another prof that will do that.
Prof Danufsky is very nice and encourages questions during lecture. His class is challenging but every calculus class is. As long as you put in the effort and do all of the homework you will do fine. He created an outline of notes for us to print out. Less writing, more learning. One quiz each week. Wants to help. Just study for quizzes and tests
he cares about home work. he was great
This class was hard for me and had ALOT of homework. The teacher made himself accessible and truly wants to help you learn the information. He is very patient.
Danufsky was an amazing professor, really caring and actually wants you to learn the material compared to other professors. He does NOT accept any late work even with any medical note. Which is reasonable I guess, but I wish he taught 253 so I can take him again!
Great professor! Made me like math a lot more.
he was amazing. he answers all of the questions you ask with patience. he makes you love math. his exams are not hard but they are a lot questions on them, you need to work on your time management. He is not a tough grader; gives you reasonable partial credits. accessible outside class. sometimes gets confused while lectures but you'll be fine.
Professor Danufsky was the best math teacher I've ever had. He gives quizzes every class meeting but if you do well on those, do all the homework, you'll get an easy A. He was so funny and his teaching was so simple and easy to understand. Great teach 10/10 would recommend.
Danufsky was an amazing teacher! I love math but can have a hard time understanding new material but Danufsky had amazing lectures and broke down every problem until you understood what you were doing. He genuinely cares about all his students and wants them to succeed! If are willing to show up to class everyday then definestly take Danufsky!
His class is an easy A if you put the effort into it. He will work with you to teach you.
Willing to help anytime.
This class is really easy. The video assignments are helpful and he is very responsive to emails if you have any questions. Tests are very similar to homework problems. If you do the work and put in the effort, there is no reason why you should not get an A
I've taken Danufsky twice so far, for two different classes. He is one of the best teachers at IVC, he is one of the best I've ever had my whole life. He loved to teach and takes time to explain every problem and will answer any questions.
I didn't Math in three years. I did this class this semester, because it was compulsory. This class is very intensive, with a lot of Homework, video assignments and quizzes. Although that may be, the teacher is fair enough to give a good grading outline/criteria to help students pass this class, despite difficult exams.
I've taken Danufsky's class twice now, for two different courses. He is honestly the best. He explains everything really well and is very understandable when a problem comes up. This was a hybrid class so you did have to put in a lot of time and work into video assignments and all that. But he was fantastic. Highly recommend him!! :)
The lectures were clear, he went over all the material in a organized fashion and really strived to set us up for success. We would go over any homework problems that were givin us trouble and he would make sure we could do the work. Very helpful and funny guy, work load was just right and the tests werent too challenging.
Mr. Danufsky was an outstanding professor and by far my favorite at IVC! His 4A class was difficult for sure, but if you put in the work, an A is definitely doable. Make sure to see him during office hours as he is very helpful and willing to explain the problems and concepts thoroughly. I would highly recommend that you take him!!
Great professor and wish he taught stats. He is very helpful and I never could pass Algebra before, but because of the way he teaches and the practice for homework and video notes, I passed with an A. Class is not a drag and he teaches really well. There is a lot of homework but you need to do it to learn the material, so it's worth the time.
Four unit tests, one final. HW due on test day. Quizzes almost every week but sometimes they are group quizzes, and he helps you. Sometimes its a take home quiz. Easy to talk to, very passionate about his subject. Teaches you all the easy methods, understands you. Hilarious and exams are mostly based on study guide. Textbook is free.
by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He really wants students to understand and will show you step by step how to do it, (compared to most teachers that just say look it up later). One time I emailed him about a question on the study guide, and he sent me a step by step video on how to do it :'). Truly an amazing professor so take him !
I've taken this professor twice, and liked him so far. He was pretty good and tells you what you need to know in order to do well. In Calc, he gave us online notes to print out which made note taking alot easier and I could follow along alot better. He is a hard teacher but its for a good reason. His exams are pretty tough though.
Love him! If youre intimidated by math, this professor is for you. Hes funny and explains things in a way that even a math-dummy such as myself could follow. Would take him again in a heartbeat. Keep up with the online homework.
I am a DSPS student and took Math 253 online with Professor Danufsky. I was worried about taking a math class online but found the lectures very helpful. Professor Danufsky was quick to respond to my many questions by email. I really appreciated the effort he put in to help me understand the concepts. He really wants you to succeed.
Gives a good amount of partial credit but struggles to explain the more difficult topics of the course. You need to do a lot of outside work to do well.
Danufsky is a super chill professor and his teaching is super clear which I like because I don't understand math. I took his hybrid 353 class and it was super easy. Everything is pretty much straight forward with him and he'll take time to explain something you don't understand. Do the assignments and pay attention and you'll be fine.
He gives too much homework which offers only 5% for entire grades. His lecture is boring that is hard to understand what he talks about. Quizzes are given randomly. It's hard to get an expected grade even paying efforts. I'm math major but I changed my grading option.
AMAZING professor! Took hybrid class. Quizzes everyday on homework. Exams every few sections he gives a study guide like the exam but different problems. Clearly explains everything. Follows the syllabus to a T. Drops worst 2 quizzes and worst 2 assignments. Final exam grade replaces worst exam grade. Goes over HW. Can't make up quizzes. ASK ?s
Lectures dont match homework. Too many errors on the video assignments. Always late. Unorganized. Video assignments sometimes didnt match with the online homework. Dont recommend this class for anyone.
Calc 3 is a tough class, especially toward the end. His lectures are clear and he does a good job explaining stuff. Exams are similar to study guides. If you put in the work, this class is doable. Overall he's a pretty good instructor.
I've taken Danufsky for 3 semesters of math. Trig, Calc 1 and Calc 2. I can say confidently that he is a great professor. However, if you do not put in good time and effort into this class e.g. studying, doing the homework more than once to practice, etc. you will not do well. Study, put in the effort, and talk to him, and you will do great.
Danufsky was a great professor. We had 3 tests and a Final Exam with quizzes in between. I'd highly recommend but beware, you do have to put some good effort into his class.
The class just started and I will have to drop it as he required entirely too much home work. Its almost not possible to complete unless you do nothing else in life. I wont learn having to rush just to get the amount of work turned in on time.. Terrible.
Don't be fooled: this class is hard and he gives you a lot of homework because you need that practice. As much as people dislike hearing this, the only way to succeed is through discipline and determination. Do the homework problems. Ask him questions when you don't understand them. He is so kind, and he loves helping students.
He is a really good professor, however he gives a lot of homework. He gives u the hwk assignment list at the start of the semester tho so uk what u have to do. I have this class Mon/Wed and we kept losing days due to holidays so he started going pretty fast and its stressful . This class for sure requires a lot of effort and time. Funny and Caring!
He's an awesome professor, there's a lot of homework that he does collect but it's only because you need to practice a lot to do well in the class. Don't miss lecture, do all the homework and exam reviews, and it's an easy B, very do-able A.
Amazing teacher. About 2-3 written assignments due weekly, you watch his lecture notes and he does already half of each side of the assignment for you. Only difficult part was the MyMathLab, there is a lot of homework questions in the beginning of the semester, but the quizzes are fairly easy. Study the homework and you'll do great in the class.
Great professor for online math. He does weekly video assignments that are similar to small lectures that really helped me learn the material. There is a lot of homework but that is to be expected with an online math class. I appreciated that he prepares you for the midterm and final with review sheets. Study and you can easily get a good grade!
Professor Danufsky is the best. He is caring and answers to your questions outside the class. You can get an A, if you make an effort.
After taking trig with a horrible teacher 5 years ago and dropping I was scared to take a math class since. I cannot believe I just Aced trig after fearing it for so long! Prof Danufsky was amazing. The type of class you feel melancholy when it's over. Lots of work but expectations are clear and he is a GREAT professor. Amazing lectures! TAKE HIM!!
An amazing professor. He goes through every lesson thoroughly and answers even the most obvious/"dumbest" questions without belittling you. Be sure to do the homework as it can bring down your grade significantly if you're not careful. Study guides are very similar to the exams, too. If you have the option, take his class.
I took Trig in fall with him and let's say he deserves the hype. He has a great passion for math and his lectures are actually enjoyable. One of my favorite professors at ivc tbh. A TRUE GEM.
Things I liked: Easy to follow direction. Study guides for each exams is similar to actual one. Funny and caring. Fast grading(helps you to keep track of ur grades). He makes you wanna study. Things u should know: Lots of homework. Do the homework. Do the study guide and you are good to go.
I had already taken trigonometry in high school, so this course was easy for me. For the new people who do not know trig., he explains everything thoroughly and answers every question with extreme detail. Would definitely recommend his course to anyone.
Amazing professor! Has a hilarious and engaging personality, which makes lectures fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this Trig summer course - it was fast paced and you definitely have to do the homework (even though you dont turn it in), however exams were managable since the criteria was very clear. Learned so much in such a short amount of time! :)
Prof. Danufsky is a fantastic teacher. As long as you do the homework, show up to class willing to learn, and aren't afraid to ask questions, you should do well in the class. Beware, there's a lot of homework, but doing it helps with the quizzes and tests. It pays off. I would definitely take the class again.
Professor Danufsky is an excellent teacher especially if you struggle with calculus. He's always willing to help during office hours and it's very easy to reach him. Doing the homework is a good idea considering 50% of the test questions come from there. I'd definitely take his class again he keeps it interesting and is great at explaining.
Prof. Danufsky is hands down the BEST math professor at IVC. He is willing to stay after class to help you with any homework problems and answer questions. He is extremely caring towards his students. Show up to class, pay attention, do the homework and do the study guides, bec they are very similar to the exam!
Professor Danufsky is the best math teacher I have ever had, he understands the math struggles people go through and is very accommodating to your understanding of math. If I ever had any questions I would go to his office hours and he would go over anything I needed. His study guides are exactly like the tests. 10/10 would take again.
Really nice, great teacher. Easier if you've learned the subject before. For homework each class theres a worksheet and like 4 problems. Makes it really easy to understand. If his class is open take it. However he doesn't care for absences. You can't make up anything but can turn hw/ do quizzes early. Doesn't pick on people randomly a lot.
Homework was light, 3-4 questions per class. Always willing to help and quizzes and tests were made clear, nothing ridiculous. Would definitely take him again.
Professor. Danufsky is amazing. He is willing to help you if you cannot understand the class material at his office time from Monday to Thursday. 6 quizzes(20%), he drops the lowest; 3 chapter tests(55%) and a cumulative final(25%), you can use your final exam score to replace the lowest chapter exams score. Homework is not mandatory.
Professor Danusky managed to not only teach the material well, but also made the class enjoyable. I would without a doubt take him again and he's my favorite teacher at IVC. As long as you pay attention in class and visit him during office hours when you have questions, then an A is almost guaranteed.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. HORRIBLE.
this man is absolutely outstanding WOW. prepares you for test very well, homework is collected before exams. a few quizzes here and there but they are important. there are 4 exams and a cumalititve final which he prepares u for. if u want to learn calculus and pull a good grade, this is ur guy. im considering changing my major to math bc of him
This is my third time taking Calculus and I had a hard time in the past of wrapping my head around it till I took this class. He explains everything clearly and takes a difficult subject matter and makes it digestible. He knows his stuff and is great at showing it. hw was 10% test was the majority of the grade, but worst test is replaced by final.
Teaches concepts very well, and definitely wants his students to do their best. He is office hours are very helpful. Ready to answer any question and teaches the concept in a simple and straightforward way. Extra credit available for online class. Willing to take classes even when unwell, wants the best for students.
This man can turn a math illiterate into a math expert
Not sure why this guy has so many good reviews. I could not stand his attitude from the first day. Just constantly complaining about how online class sucks, how his tablet does not work, how his drawings suck, etc. It's like learning math from the Scrooge. Tons of homework, boring lectures, and absolutely not accommodating if you're a DSPS student.
After not attending school for 3+ years and having to jump back into it with calculus, especially during COVID times, made me nervous. This class was intimidating but the material was explained very well and challenged students just the right amount. He explained it very well and always took the time to work on anything students didn't understand.
Professor Danufsky is a good professor. I had a positive experience in taking his class in-person. There was quite a bit of homework but it wasn't to an unreasonable degree and his tests/quizzes were a good reflection of what was taught in class. Overall he's very friendly and approachable and it won't be too hard to succeed.
I had a fantastic time taking this course, Professor Danufsky is great and really approachable, he made online learning joyful. There's two exam and several worksheets, and WebAssign hw, it's not hard, but you do have to work for an A
Professor Danufsky is caring, passionate, and patient. He understands the students and the struggles; so he made homework and exams weigh similarly to each other which helped a lot of the students get an A. HW and webassign is the most important and if you want to succeed, attend his OH and ask him questions. I would definitely take him again.
Professor Danufsky is hilarious. He is a great teacher in my opinion who cares about his students deeply. Teaches the concepts well. %30 - Homework, %30 Worksheets, %20 Midterm and %20 Final. Worksheets and Homework, basically free points. Just make sure to do the worksheets neatly. He actually grades them pretty seriously.
Super amazing professor!! Makes his expectations for the class clear which really helps in trying to get a good grade. A good proportion of the grade is based on the homework which really helps reduce the midterm and final exam stress. Lectures are very clear and would 100% take his class again!
Hes super nice and makes it really easy to pass his class. Tests are worth less than homework, so if you do all your homework you can end with a good grade. Gives extra credit before every test by doing the review sheet and holds zooms to go over questions you dont understand on the review sheet. Overall great guy loved his summer class.
Professor Danufsky is the best!! I took his Trig class in the summer and he explains things very well. He never makes you feel stupid for asking a question. He truly cares about his students. Offers extra credit just by doing the exam review before the exam. DO it!! it helps tremendously. Overall, he's a great professor :)
Honestly, Prof. Danufsky is the best. Took him for trig this semester and my god he does not dissapoint. Most of the grades you'll be getting is from class participation and homeworks. Couple of days before your test he'll give you a study guide, DO IT. 90% of the test questions are ALL there and it gives you free credit too.
Professor Danufsky is one of the most caring professors I have had during my experience at IVC. He literally wants you to get a good grade, wants everyone to have cameras on to have a connection with you and help you understand. His classes fill up extra fast for a reason.. don't procrastinate, do the homework and you'll get an A. Trust me...
He's really good with breaking down the material for anyone that's confused and gives plenty of practice to make sure that we understand the material. He is also easily accessible outside of class, which makes scheduling office hours and asking questions easy. Very lenient with deadlines, just make sure you do your stuff.
great professor!! calc is tough but he is always there to help! if you can sign up for one of his courses, do it
He is so funny oh my gosh. His random comments made my day tbh. He also is amazing at teaching math and office hours helped me so much. All it is is watching the lecture videos on your own time, doing the worksheet in the non-mandatory class sessions, doing Webassign HW, the weekly canvas quiz that you can take twice, and tests (which are harder)
Professor Danufsky was an incredibly understanding and helpful instructor throughout the entirety of the semester. Although his tests were sometimes a little difficult, with a reasonable amount of effort, students should easily be able to get 95% or above in all the other categories of the class. I would highly recommend taking his math3a class.
Highly recommend for Calculus. His tests are difficult, but even if you don't do well on the tests all the other worksheets and homework are weighted so you will succeed. Great lectures and he's easy to get ahold of if you have questions outside of class.
I had him online for a semester and honestly he is really a solid professor. He teaches well, and you can tell he wants his students to do well in the class.
I was dreading going into MATH 3A because I was no good at it. Luckily Professor Danufsky was there to get me through it. I took his all-online class and it was great. Although his tests were tough, his guided notes were a godsend and really helped me understand the material more. Plus he gave extra credit for doing the study guides and graded hw.
In my opinion Professor Danufsky is a pretty good professor, although lecture wise it gets a little boring. In his defense he does try to make it enjoyable which works. There's a lot of video assignments and also Webassign work that he gives out. He also finds ways to help his students and great overall just lowkey boring lectures and a bit of hw.
Professor Danufsky is a wonderful person, and his teaching style is okay. it doesn't stand out but it's not horrible either. Here's the kicker, 80% of his class grade is just tests. Webassign and all his W.S count for like 20%. His exams don't reflect anything based on the book, or the study guide. His exams are really difficult. take gupta or lamp
I absolutely loved his lectures, however the grading scale of the class has ruined the experience. Hard exams that are worth 80% including the final, with not much partial credit on exams (at least in my experience). This makes the class extremely anxiety inducing, especially when the subject material is already so difficult to learn.
Do not take this course it will give you a heart attack! Professor Danufsky is a nice person but shows he's bad side when grading assignments. I have never had a class like his. For example, everyday was hardcore group participation. The style of class was not normal nor did he give the class a proper lecture. You have to teach yourself.
As a person who has attended at least three courses from him. Let me tell you, if you can't get an A from him, you certainly can't get it from anyone else either. Be sure to take his class. Don't hesitate.
I like Danufsky as a person. Apparently, he got fed up with students cheating in his previous online exams, so how does he combat this? make exams 80% of the grade and make it brutal. Anybody that says that he's an amazing lecturer isn't lying, but it doesn't mean anything when your grade is based heavily on test taking and it kills you!
Great professor for Trigonometry. Teaches it very well, I was honored to be his student for two straight semesters. A very understanding professor and is very lenient with his homework. If you miss assignments, he will easily open them up for you. Honestly, that is something I am kind of against as imo he's a little too lenient, but people lovethat
OFFICE HOURS MATTER! It is almost necessary to attend his office hours because without it you won't receive full credit and that affects your grade. Lectures take up a lot of time and are confusing but quizzes and worksheets are easy if office hours are attended.
I took him for both Calc 1 (Math 3A) and Calc 3 (Math 4A) and received an A in both classes. His lectures are truly amazing and if you just pay attention, copy down the notes, and do the study guides (which are extra credit) you will do good. His grading system is extremely test-heavy which makes it very difficult but you get to use cheat sheets.
Hi. I got into Danufsky's class and literally struggled throughout the semester but for the last exam and the final, I gave it my best shot and I barely made it. I was like .2% away from failing but Danusky was super nice and passed me and for that I am grateful. However, why 80% of the grade were exams?? I felt that it was unnecessarily hard!
Prof Danufsky is one of the best professors at IVC period. He really knows his stuff and is a great lecturer. Exams and final totalled 80% of the grade, which was pretty intense, but I don't think that made it impossible to get an A. He gives these fantastic extra credit study guides that really prepare you for the exams if you do them thoroughly.
You get out what you put into this class. Danufsky does an amazing job in his lectures and is always ready to help students outside of class. Your grade is 80% exams, but Danufsky does literally everything to prepare you - no trick questions, lenient grading, helpful study guides for extra credit, and hw is always harder than the exam itself.
Danufsky makes it very clear what his expectations are for the class, and then proceeds to make it easier as time goes on. His exams are word for word ripped from his homework assignments with a number changed to make computation easier, and he tells you this before exams. Overall a great time with clear lectures, albeit a bit lengthy.
Honestly, he was wonderful. There was, in my opinion, a lot of homework, like 2 hours per day just finishing up the homework. However, homework really helped me understand the criteria. Homework + class was basically what prepared me for the exams, which I did pretty well. Exams are not intended to trick you whatsoever. Great experience.
Professor Danufsky goes out of his way to help students. He even held last minute review sessions the night before exams, 2 of which landed on Sunday nights. If you are having problems with a concept from earlier math classes he has no issue with explaining it in full detail to make sure you understand everything you need to know.
The class was 80% exams including the final and yes, it is tricky. he's helpful and all but doesn't mean anything when he goes from one extreme where he had the assignments and the worksheets were worth more than exams and you could easily pass to the other where 80% of the ENTIRE grade exams. it's your choice but my advice? don't take him
Good lecturer but impossible exams and it's 80% of his class.if you arent a good test-taker then find someone else.
Yes it did. I clearly understood the material really well. His teaching skills are really good.
I think is teaching style is really good. I understood the material clearly.
Best math prof. I've had in a long time. Prof. Danufsky is passionate and makes the class so fun. He explains tough concepts in such an easy way to understand. Decent amount of homework, but doable. If you put in the work, you can get an A. Taking him for trig was the best decision I ever made, and I will definitely be back to take him for Math 3a.
Genuinely cares about forming teacher-student relationships & puts effort into learning your name & discusses concerns you have. Does not make you feel bad about not understanding materials, acknowledges mistakes he makes, not a know it all, & takes time to discuss what you don't understand. taking 3A w him - study, ask questions and u will pass
I completed MATH124 with Professor Danufsky in the fall of 2021. This is my first math class in college. Professor Danufsky was very patient and dispelled all my worries about mathematics. You can ask any question, and there is no stupid question in his eyes. Now that I have completed MATH3B, I still often recall the confidence he gave me.
Danufsky is a wonderful, engaging, and hard-working professor. Calc 3 is a pretty difficult class - make sure you know your pre-calc and calc 1-2 stuff. My advice is to practice, practice, practice. Don't wait till the deadline to do your homework. If you're stuck, don't hesitate to ask Danufsky. Go to every lecture. EVERY. LECTURE. And take notes.
Professor Danufsky is great! He communicates well and properly prepares you for quizzes and tests. He puts a lot of effort into class and listens to students. Even if the material is challenging, he is able to explain it very well. The homework is optional but should be done. Study guides and practice exams were given.
He teaches really well and is ready to answer questions. He's funny and very understanding.
Very good professor. Attendance wasn't really mandatory if you knew the material and did well, or self-taught to a degree. Helps a lot if you ask questions, very involved, cares about his students, will go the extra mile for you. Don't make the mistake of not taking him at least once.
Overall great teacher. He is medium on homework, but its very doable and is a good amount. Some teachers load too much homework but his amount is reasonable and is in packet form which is way preferred. Hes also a funny cool dude thats easy to understand. Sometimes assertive when he helps but hes passionate about teaching. If you try, youll pass
i love professor danufsky! i've always struggled with math, but he made it so easy to understand/follow. super fair syllabus, and he will replace ur lowest test score with the final. very caring and accessible outside of class. go to his office hours if ur ever struggling, he is super helpful and understanding. take him if u can he's great!!!
Math4A is challenging, but Professor Danufsky possesses a great sense of humor and immense patience. His lectures are excellent! He genuinely cares about the growth of his students. Be an honest and diligent student, keeping up with the pace from the very beginning, completing homework, and attending office hours. You will be successful.
danufsky was super understanding and clearly cared about his students. tests were fair and he provided a couple extra credit opportunities. there is a lot of homework and you have to go to all the lectures if you want to pass.
Great and engaging lectures! Despite it being a morning class, I was still able to stay awake thanks to the energy that he always brought to his lectures. Although exams could be difficult, if you keep up with all the homework and actually study you should be able to do well.
very good i like him. he is attractive and a good teacher. so good
When it comes to a teacher that loves what they're doing, look no further than Professor Danufsky. Danufsky dedicates himself to ensuring that his students learn and improve their math skills along the way. His class is very straightforward, but get ready for some challenging exams. DO THE HOMEWORK! Many exam questions come from there.
I've taken Professor Danufsky for 2 different classes & he is my favorite professor on the IVC campus. He genuinely cares about his students & wants them to succeed. He gives a lot of his time & energy into making sure u understand the material. If u take any professor for ANY math, take Danfusky. His class is difficult but if u TRY you'll be okay!
He has great lectures. They're a bit long but he is hilarious so it doesn't feel boring. Make sure to do the homework, there is a lot and it will pile up. The tests are hard but if you do the homework, you should do fine. Has lots of office hours.
Amazing teacher, super funny, easy to understand, and puts a lot of effort into his class. Answers any question with easy-to-understand answers.
compassionate and intelligent professor. Learned about math and the discipline it takes to rlly learn. 2nd time taking his class and he's extremely understanding about situations, as long as ur willing to put in the effort. if you take calc1 chances are you're in a major that will require more math classes. Take him, he will set you up for success.
Took Calculus 1. It wasn't an easy class but Prof. Danufsky was a very thorough and insightful teacher who helped everyone get through the material. He cared more about students learning the math than the grades itself, and would take the time outside of class to have accessible office hours and would be very active in his communication. 10/10
Greatest teacher of all time. The class was difficult but the professor was very helpful and hosted numerous office hours sessions to answer last-minute questions before tests. Very flexible when it came to scheduling and overall a very good professor. Would take again
He is a great teacher who cares a lot about his students. Very knowledgeable professor who explains material very well. Lectures are long but he tries his best to end them early. Attend his office hours. Went to his office hours weekly when I found out he had them and they helped me tremendously. He wants you to succeed, highly recommend
He is the best professor I have ever had. Super passionate about math and really wants you to succeed. He always has office hours and is super easy to reach out to. He really connects with his students. 100% would recommend him.
Prof. Danufsky is the best option for calc I especially if you're a STEM major. He will teach you all the fundamentals you'll need for calc II and calc III. There is one quiz a week, video lectures, and homework from the textbook. The tests and quizzes will test your knowledge but if you go to office hours he helps a ton!
Chill and funny dude. Super helpful and always determined to ensure you understand.
Excellent and teacher who is also funny and makes math actually fun. Test heavy but drops two quizzes and replaces lowest test score with final score, so getting an A is easy as long as you do the homework. I hope to have you again sometime - Caleb W
Prof. Danufsky is so nice and he responded to every email I sent. Despite his busy schedule he takes the time to respond to emails about questions with full on videos or solutions and it is extremely helpful. I recommend him if you're going to take Calculus!
Honestly he is a really caring person. He doesn't hesitate to repeat things and is patient with his students. Although he could've been more organized. He'd go out of order sometimes in lecture and say he'll return to a topic but doesn't. I suggest using the textbook's examples to figure out problems if you are stuck!!! Video assignments were eh.
Professor Danufsky was nice and helpful. It was a bit difficult to reach him outside of class as he would answer emails 2-3 days later. Although he was flexible and is understanding.
a very skibidi sigma teacher that gives a lot of homework
His lectures are really clear/really good at explaining theorem's. Test's are a bit harder than his study guides so beware. But elsewise if you understand the lectures/keep up with most of the HW it's okay. Office hours are great, he's very flexible on zoom office hours before tests.
Professor Danufsky is a caring, knowledgeable teacher who wants students to succeed. While lectures can be long, he's always willing to help in office hours. The textbook and resources like Unstuck ai are useful for this class.
Explains topics well, didn't need Youtube at all. You need to practice a lot when you're done with the homework to prepare for the tests. Study guides are given 2 points EC if completed! Study guides are often harder than the tests but it prepares you for the test. The tests can be completed in 2 hours as well!
Probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had. Fair grader, gives partial credit. Very passionate and offers lots of support. Classes are fairly lecture heavy and quizzes are expected at least once a week. Pretty heavy on homework as well as video assignments. Overall a great teacher and I would definitely take if given the opportunity.
Awesome math teacher, supports students learning. Always wants to support and help students to understand and learn. Very fair graders and very clear and thorough lessons.
i felt like i was being tested on calc 2 and how well i could integrate instead of the concepts of calc 3. he also only puts quizzes, exams, and the final in the gradebook where exams are 60% of your grade.
He definitely cares about his students, but for me it was too extensive. There was little rigor in the class but my main issue is that the homework sets were not chosen properly. Maybe I didn't like Stewart's book in general, but if prof. Danufsky would go for quality problems instead of quantity, this class would be more interesting.
For someone who's worst subject is math, it was daunting going into a calculus class. However, Prof Danufsky was super helpful in going over content that was confusing and hosted office hours often. I will say that the tests are usually harder than the study guide or the content we do in class, so be prepared! Other than that, would recommend.
If your not strong in MATH3A, you won't do well. MATH3B is hard, and no matter how much I studied, went to office hours, etc, I kept getting low test scores. The tests are hard and not similar to the study guides, and there will sometimes always be something that you forgot to study that is on there. Danufsky is supportive, but his class is hard.
The goat of mathematics
Amazing trig teacher. He made it easy to understand and made class enjoyable. If I had to take trig again, it would be with him. Homework was super easy and he was such a funny guy. Definitely recommend him if you have to take trig/any other math. He wants you to understand and will help you as much as possible.
Great professor who cares for the students greatly. Took this class asynchronous, so online and in-person, so the online lectures felt very long. Rly watch the lectures thoroughly and ask questions in class. Be prepared for quizzes almost weekly and exams are moderate, just study and ask questions.
Great. he has a big brain and you can even see it through his bald head
He was an alr professor, his notes provided clear structure of what we were doing. 10-20 homework problems per class, and provided study guides before the exams. Exams and quizzes were similar to the homework and study guide problems, so if done you'll be okay. The class is hard, but he makes it easier.
Amazing and lively/fun professor, explains everything very well, super dedicated, allows you to drop two lowest scores in each category and replace lowest test score with final grade so getting an A is very doable
The bald goat bruh. Just show up to class, pay attention, and do the hw notes and ur getting at least a B - A. Took him over the summer so the class was dumbed down a little. Stopped taking attendace after first week and a half and doesn't care if you pay attention to lectures. Noticed the class struggling on a quiz so he let us comapre answers.
Best math teacher I've ever taken. I took his class during the summer so the class was fast paced but he still made sure we understood the material before he moved on.
ABSOLUTE GOAT OF ALL TIMES. This man saved calculus reputation in my heart, and I would take another class w him on any given day. Caring, wishes you to succeed, GREAT at explaining, takes the class seriously, idk if he liked his job, but I liked him doing his job. He tries hard to make sure you understand the material very thoroughly, love him
I took the summer class and it was hella light, Danufsky is probably my favorite math teacher because how well he explains stuff. The tests are all based off the lectures and HW, so if you do and understand it, you should be fine. The only complaints are the fast pace of the summer class, and extra credit is nearly impossible to get.
I took this class in-person, but a lot of the material was assigned as homework instead of being taught during class. We ended up having to self-teach big portions of the content. Also, the participation and attention felt uneven; he interacted more with certain students (especially some of the girls) while others were often ignored
If you're not good with precalc this class is VERY DIFFICULT. Gotta know your trig and algebra really well.
Super nice guy, always came to every table to see if we needed help/had any questions. Quizzes were given usually once a week. Provided EC for completing studyguide. But, his tests are very hard if you do not have a solid foundation of precalculus and also were a lot harder than studyguide/practice imo. He was very approachable for questions.
Great class overall. Very good lecturer. Only downside is that you're only graded off few things. 60% Exams 20% final 20% quizzes. However, if you put in the work and show up to every class, you will do well. Love that he will replace an exam score if you do better on that exam's section on the final. Take him!!
