He does nothing to help the studentsmakes class hard as possible 90% of test material is never reviewed in class... Dont take him
Very good class. Knows what hes talking about & makes it interesting. A lot of documentaries & powerpoint. Tests aren't bad if you just read over the notes, which he posts online. Grades on a curve & only the final is mandatory.
Duntley is awesome. He is by far the best professor I have had at Stockton. He does a lot to make things interesting. He cracks a lot of jokes and uses documentaries as examples of the theories we discuss in class. I will take his other courses when they're offered in the future.
I love Professor Duntley. He is extremely smart and very sweet. He make class enjoyable even though I don't enjoy the topic. I wish he taught all of my classes ;)
He's a great guy. He doesn't ever talk down to students and respects our opinions. I highly recommend him.
Professor Duntley is great! I hate math, but he has helped me to understand statistics a lot. He is always reviewing things in class and making sure everyone, or at least most people, understand things before he moves on. He is making me a believer that statistics can actually be useful in my life after college. Take him!!!
His class can be tough, but Duntley is fair. He is a cool guy.
Professor Duntley is is very helpful and approachable. His class is challenging, but he is a fair grader. I would take classes with him again.
I really like Professor Duntley. He keeps things lively in class and is super smart! It helps that he isn't hard to look at. :)
Professor Duntley is a good professor. He really helps students understand the material in his class. It can be a lot of work though, because there are so many new ideas. But the class definitely keeps your interest.
I like Dr. Duntley. He is a good professor and keeps class interesting.
Extremely interesting class. Excellent Prof. he is sooo helpful. Real cool guy. Able to relate everything and anything to real world stuff. Cares about his students and is really fair. :)
i hate math, and i got a B in statistics! so he must be a really good professor. you have to be in class to understand the material, but he definitely made a subject that is really difficult, ok. great professor...funny guy. if you need stats for CJ, take him!
Professor Duntley makes the material in his class interesting and easily accessible, even though a lot of it is complex. He is very approachable and goes out of his way to be accommodating. I would take his other classes if I wasn't graduating.
very knowledgable, but hard to understand!
Super smart guy. He makes connections between a bunch of different perspectives. He makes complex ideas easy to understand. Professor Duntley changed the way I think about the world. The best class I've taken at Stockton.
Dr. Duntley is an awesome professor. Plus he's hot, which makes it easier to pay attention in class.
I am not a fan of statistics, but professor Duntley makes the class fun. He uses a lot of great examples, encourages the class to ask questions, and shows how the different topics we cover are related.
Dr. Duntley rocks!
Duntley is a cool guy, but the material is pretty tough. I definitely recommend him though... just make sure you study even though the tests are open book/notes.
Nice guy. Pretty good teacher. Tries to make a boring subject fun and interesting. If you need a stats class, take him. Just make sure you go to class, take notes, and do the homework and you should get an easy A. Would definitely recommend.
He is a really nice guy and makes sure everyone understands what he's talking about. He's probably the best professor I've had anywhere. There can be a lot of reading, but his exams and assignments are fair.
Good professor. Funny.
He is hilarious. He explained everything in different ways and gave lots of examples. Definitely take him if you can.
Professor Duntley is great! He kept class interesting and fun. Plus, he answers his email, which a lot of professors don't do. Definitely take him if you can!
I like professor Duntley. He is a cool guy.
Dr. Duntley was one of my first professors here at Stockton and so far, Good and Evil is still my favorite class! Dr. Duntley wants to show students different sides of the world, and he does it extremely well. He's fair and tells it like it is. He will do anything to help a student, but he doesn't accept bullsh*t. Take him, you won't regret it!
I have Dr. Duntley for research methods. There is a lot of work in the class, but he makes it interesting and fun. Dr. Duntley is probably the smartest, coolest professor I've had. If you can get into one of his classes, definitely take him!
I learned as much in one semester of Prof. Duntley's Sex, Power, Conflict class than I did in three years of other classes at Stockton. He is very intelligent and must spend all of his spare time reading because he is always talking about this book or that new study. He is very accessible and really cares about his students doing well.
I took research and evaluation with Dr. Duntley. He is a great professor. His classes were always interesting and he has a great sense of humor. He is super helpful and will work with you until you understand the material. Dr. Duntley is a brilliant guy, but he isn't cocky about being so smart. Overall, he is one of my favorite professors.
I took professor Duntley's online course on Sex, Power, Conflict over this summer. It was a lot of work, but it was very interesting material. Dr. Duntley set up videos to watch that went with the course readings. He was great about responding my questions right away. I would definitely take him again.
I took Dr. Duntley's psychology of human mating class online this summer and loved it! He was great about emailing me back and was friendly when I went to his office hours. Dr. Duntley really cares about his students and wants you to succeed. I would definitely take him again.
Even though it was an online class, I liked it a lot. Other students complain about it because I don't think they want to do any work in online classes. No, the work wasn't fun. At the end of the day, I have to be honest and say that I learned a lot in the class, so I got my money's worth.
I took Dr. Duntley's Sex, Power, Conflict class. His classes are hard, but you will learn a TON! If you want an easy A, look elsewhere.
Dr. Duntley's Sex, Power, Conflict class was awesome. It was online, but he selected a bunch of video lectures and documentaries for the class to watch, which was better than sitting in a classroom in a lot of ways. Dr. Duntley always responded fast to messages and was very helpful. Unlike a lot of professors, he really cares about his students.
I am taking Duntley's statistics class. I don't like math, but Duntley keeps his class interesting and easy to understand. I never thought that I would get this stuff, but now I'm getting it!
This is def a difficult class no matter who you take it with. Attendence isnt mandatory but the more you go the higher your grade will be. Its a lot of info to take in but youll need to know it if your planning on taking higher level Graduate Crim courses. I recomend him, he gives exrta credit.Test are difficult you MUST study even tho there online
I am taking Dr. Duntley's Research Methods class now and love it. He is hilarious and is always available to students who need help. He knows a ton about criminal justice research and makes things easy to understand.
Duntley is a great professor. I graduated last year. I took three courses with him and they are the ones that stuck with me the most. If you don't put in a lot of work for all the assignments, you will get a bad grade. The only students I know who have a problem with Duntley are people who want to coast by without doing any work.
Professor Duntley is a good professor. I was having trouble with my paper and he spent a lot of time giving me feedback and suggesting articles that I could use. I don't think I would have passed his class without all the extra help he gave me.
Dr. Duntley taught my undergraduate stats class. I don't like math, but he made the class worthwhile. He gave a lot of homework, but was a fair grader. I am in graduate school now. I already know a lot of the things in my graduate stats class because Dr. Duntley covered them so well in his class.
He is a good teacher. I liked his class. You definitely have to do the readings because he asks questions about things that are in the books that aren't covered in class. I wish I would have taken more classes with him before my senior year.
Dr. Duntley is my all-time favorite professor. I learned more in his Sex & Violence class than I did in the entire rest of my major.
I have a huge fear of math. Professor Duntley made his statistics class interesting and fun. Even better, now I understand what's going on in the results sections of papers I have to read for other classes.
Looking for a GIS ? Sex, Power, Conflict is quite possibly the most interesting I've had, the one test we've had was basic common sense if you paid attention in lecture, and no papers or projects or hw, plus the random documentaries are awesome. I wish I could take more with Duntley!
I was completely lost in Stats. because I had missed a few classes. Dr. Duntley told us in every class to visit his office to go over homeworks and exams. When I finally did, he was so helpful and understanding. Dr. Duntley helped me figure out the things that confused me. Now I'm confident that I will do well on the final.
Forensic psych seemed like a class I would really enjoy before taking the class. If you think you will be doing something close to CSI...wrong. More focus on working with the law & civil/criminal issues in court. No review for tests or any info as to what will be on there. Definitely need to study and read to do well!
The instructor is friendly, easygoing, intelligent. The class is a bit dry.The class is mainly introductory and focuses more on roles and legal aspects of the field. With that said its not a bad class, although he deosnt seem that enthusiastic about the course. However he does try to start discussion and asks if everyone is okay with the material
Avoid him if you can. Forensic psych isnt required so you can avoid him or take it with another professor. He makes the class very boring and half the time I had no idea of the relevance of what he was talking about. I strongly recommend not taking this professor for any course.
I don't like taking summer classes, but Dr. Duntley made his Research class interesting and even fun sometimes. I like all of the examples he used in class. He requires a big paper with revisions, but it was no big deal with all the resources he posted online.
The class teaches about laws, the courts, important supreme court decisions, and the psychological tests that are used to evaluate people. This is the world that forensic psychologists live in. The important thing I learned from this class is that I don't want to live there. Forensic psychology is almost nothing like TV.
Dr. Duntley is the best. I loved his forensic psychology class. It is one of the most interesting classes at Stockton. If you go to his class and do the readings you will be fine. Take him if you can get in. He's usually got a big wait list.
I have major anxiety issues and have a hard time mustering up the courage to get to class some days. Professor Duntley's class was one of the only classes where I felt at ease. He is a very friendly professor and I am so grateful for that. The class was interesting and the workload was manageable. Do the readings and you will be fine!!
Dr. Duntley is an awesome professor; definitely the best I've had at Stockton in 4 years. His class is challenging, but he is helpful and a genuinely nice person.
I took two of his online classes last summer. Unlike a lot of other online classes I have taken, Dr. Duntley's were so interesting that I actually wanted to do the readings and see what my classmates were thinking. I wish I could take Duntley's classes again this summer. I can't find anything else that looks as good.
I thought this class was amazing, especially if you're a psych major. All of the info is pretty common-sense stuff, and it really isn't hard. Start the project early though.
This guy is a joke. Barely teaches shows movies for majority of the semester. I walked away not knowing anymore than I did before taking the class. Absolutely avoid him at all cost. He curves the grades which means majority of the classes fail his tests..I recommend taking anyone else but him.
Great forensic psychology professor. Class was a mix of lecture, discussion, and some documentaries to provide examples of faulty witness identification, false confessions, and psychopathy. He is super smart and was very helpful and accommodating when I went to his office with questions and concerns. More professor should be like him!
I can't say enough positive things about Prof. Duntley. He made it clear exactly what students needed to do to get good grades. He spent a bunch of time with me going over old exams. Even though the readings were dry, class discussion of the readings was lively and kept my attention. Sign up for Duntley's classes early. They fill up fast.
I like forensic psychology and loved Dr. Duntley's class. He didn't just cover the book, but also discussed other topics. He gave good real-life examples of the course topics that helped me remember the material for exams. He always responded quickly to emails and had lots of office hours. If you do your work, Dr. Duntley's classes are easy.
Dr. Duntley is a great professor for Theories. If you have a sense of humor, you will love his class. He's not an easy A, but is a lot more entertaining than most professors. Students who don't do readings hate him because he tests on things from the book that he didn't cover in class. His class is no problem if you do the work.
I love Dr. Duntley. His graduate forensic psychology class was the best and most interesting class I've taken as an undergraduate and graduate student. The guy is basically a genius, but is happy to explain things whenever students ask.
Not available. Never ever around to help you.
Dr. Duntley is the best professor I've had in three years at Stockton, and it was for an online summer class. He tells you exactly what to do to succeed in class. The whole class was laid out, day by day, on Blackboard. Just read (short assignments), login, interact with the class on discussion boards, do the assignments, and you're golden.
Dr. Duntley has been my professor for a few classes. Always love him. I dreaded stats, but he made the class fun. I spent a lot of time in his office hours. Take him if you can get a seat. There's usually a wait list.
I took Prof. Duntley's Crim Research and Good & Evil course last summer. I liked him so much that I'm in his Stats class now. He is so nice and helpful. I wish all my professors were like him! I'm sad that the last class I get to take with him before I graduate is his GIS class. His classes are among the only ones I look forward to going to.
Smart, nice man. Great sense of humor and smile. Easy glide through the course material. Do the readings and keep up with assignments and you're set. I wish I had discovered him sooner; could see myself trying to spend extra time with him outside of class;)
He is an AWESOME professor and probably the smartest at Stockton. I am a senior and can't believe his class was the first time I learned about evolutionary psychology. It blew my mind.
Dr. Duntley is my all time favorite professor at Stockton. He is always there to help and makes class interesting. His assignments are also reasonable and he has flexibility built in, like dropping the lowest homework grade. I won't miss most of my professors at Stockton, but I'll miss him.
I love, Love, LOVE Dr. Duntley!!!!! He is the best!
He is smart and helpful, and a very nice, decent person. He focuses a lot on the importance of scientifically testing different aspects of forensic psychology. You talk about a lot of research studies. It was an awesome class and he is an awesome professor. I'm finished with CRIM courses, but am going to try to do independent research with him.
I took Duntley for research and evaluation and LOVED him. All he asks is for you to read the assigned chapter and answer four questions for every class. Quizzes are easy if you did your homework and actually read the chapter. Speak up in his class, the more you participate the better. TAKE HIM!
Dr. Duntley is the best professor I've had at Stockton in four years. His is genius-level smart, funny, interesting, and cool. I actually look forward to going to his class. I usually look forward to the end of the semester to get a break from my professors. But I'm going to miss spending time with Dr. Duntley when the semester is over!
If you're looking for an awesome professor, take Dr. Duntley's classes. His classes can be tough, but he spaces things out so that the work is reasonable. I've had him for three classes, in person and online, and in every one of them, he has made the material interesting (even research methods!) and has been helpful and nice.
I am super shocked by all the positive comments. This course was the hardest class I've taken at Stockton. I got an A, however, I worked SO hard for it. His notes are not enough, you need to read the textbook multiple times. The material is easy, but the tests are so hard. Nearly everyone I talked to was failing. Be ready to WORK.
One of the smartest and most eloquent professors at the school. Curve makes the difficult work matter. I never got an A on any of the exams but ended up with an A for the class. Textbook free course. Very insightful.
He is a Rock Star of psychology and stats, and a kind, helpful person. He has encyclopedic knowledge of pretty much everything. He's easily the best professor I've had at Stockton.
Dr. Duntley is my favorite professor of all time. His funny examples in Theories class made things easy to understand. He knows so much about so many things. He might be the smartest professor at Stockton too. It is very comfortable to ask questions and participate in class. He's also the best stats. and forensic psychology professor.
Dr. Duntley is hands down the best professor at Stockton. His teaches class like it's a conversation with the students. I wish all of my professors were like him!
only take him for the stats class thats the best teacher who teaches the class trust me who ever reads this he curves his tests curves depends on the average grade of the class and he has labs which are homework they are just questions you do on blackboard of the lab he teaches you on the softwares. every other prof. is tough for this class.
Online class. HEAVY reading required. Really have to dig for the answers in the book for the online tests. Curves grades, drops lowest. Gives no feedback on discussion board posts. It's a pretty much student-run class (Psych. of Human Mating) with little interaction from him.
I've had him for 3 classes and all were awesome. Last summer, my roommate and I both took his Psych. of Human Mating class. The videos and "in the news" articles he posts are so interesting (and sometimes shocking)! The reading was NOT heavy (1 short book). And he gave quick feedback and grades on students' posts for each assignment. Take him!
Professor Duntley is the nicest and best professor at Stockton. His class can be more like a brainstorming session between friends than a formal lecture, but your still learn a lot. The class always ends up laughing at something funny he says. Even the readings are good. I've had two of his classes and am taking more in Spring 16.
His classes are fun and interesting. I tell all my friends that they should take him. Even his online classes are great. They let the students choose at the beginning of the session which assignments their grade will be based on. The one thing that I missed was seeing Dr. Duntley! Luckily, I got into his stats. class this semester. He's the best!
50% of your grade is your exams. 50% are your labs. He drops the lowest test grade, and the lowest lab. His class is very challenging, but if you take notes in class you will pass.
Choose Duntley if you're looking for an awesome class taught by an amazing professor.
I've taken two of his summer classes and will take another this summer. He makes assignments and tests flexible, so that you don't have to change your work (or play) schedule to do well. And he is actually on campus during the summer terms, so you can meet with him in person too. He's basically super nice and awesomely smart.
I love Dr. Duntley and his classes. He is smart and funny. His classes are really interesting. They are mostly a mix of discussion and lecture. Dr. Duntley himself seems like a really great guy. He is the only professor I've had that I wish I could hang out with outside of class.
Cool professor and knowledable but everything is based off research. PP won't be on blackboard bc research has shown you learn better. which can't be true bc almost everyone fails his tests. he makes you feel stupid if it is not supported by research. Very narcissistic. There are no study guides to the test and questions are wordy and confusing.
Dr. Duntley is the best professor I've had in almost 4 years. He makes you work for the grade you want. But if you do the readings and go to class, you will be fine. Most exam questions are covered both in the book and in class, and he curves exam scores. I feel like I learned more important things in his one class than in the past 3 years.
This is the 3rd class I've taken with Dr. Duntley and all of them have rocked! Theories was interesting and fun. His summer online class was great (but I missed seeing him in person!). Now I'm in his senior capstone class, which I love. But what's not to love about him? He's smart and funny and everything about his classes is fair and reasonable.
I agree with the other reviews here that Professor Duntley is a great professor. I took his online Good & Evil and Psych of Human Mating classes last summer and they were super interesting. He was on campus most of the summer, so it was easy to make appointments to see him in person, even though they were online classes. Highly recommend!
Is there any way that I can take Dr. Duntley for every course in the criminal justice major? How about every class at Stockton? He's that awesome. Word.
Take Duntley for summer courses if you can. He's a fast grader and has reasonable expectations for what can be accomplished in summer sessions. I LOVED his Psychology of Human Mating course. I wish I would have learned that stuff in high school!
I am about to graduate. I will miss Dr. Duntley more than I miss Stockton. He is by far the best professor I've had. I'm sure that he must be a genius and he's also a nice person. He has a cool sense about him that makes me want to get to know him and be his friend. Dr. Duntley, will you be friends with me after I graduate?
I loved Dr. Duntley's psychology of human mating class. It was very organized and easy to follow, even though it was an online class. The thing I loved the most was how much I learned about romantic relationships. Why didn't they teach this stuff in high school health class? If you want to understand members of the opposite sex, take this class.
Duntley is my favorite professor in MACJ. He is laid back and casual, but is also like a living encyclopedia. He is crazy smart. But he doesn't act like it. His classes are interesting and hold your attention. Don't hesitate to take him.
I just graduated and am realizing that I won't see Dr. Duntley anymore! Consider yourself lucky if you're in one of his classes. I will miss him!
Professor Duntley is an incredible professor. He speaks with such intelligence but is sometimes difficult to understand the meaning of what he is saying. I enjoyed going to his class but the workload was a lot. Summer session required students to write 3-4 everyday on top of exams and other more difficult assignments. Take Duntley he's the best.
Dr. Duntley is the best professor. He is wicked smart, kind, and helpful. Being a student in his class is like being part of a team and the sport is doing well in class. All of the assignments are laid out from the beginning of class, so you can schedule your coursework pretty easily. I'm looking forward to taking some of his other classes!
Dr duntley talks like a robot - very impersonal and says "uhm" so often that it's distracting. Power points are way too broad and the only pointers for his exams are to read the power points (which are useless). If you take out your cellphone you get 10 points off your final course grade. He's arrogant and talks to you like you're an idiot.
Dr. Duntley is an awesome professor. He is one of the best at Stockton. His lectures are awesome and he always finds ways to get students involved in discussing the topics of the day. Take him if you can!
Dr. Duntley's Sex & Violence class kicked my butt this semester, but I'm glad that I took it. The class was great. It was more like a series of interesting conversations involving the whole class than a a bunch of lectures. There are a lot of assignments, but it's good because it breaks up your grade so one poor mark won't sink you.
I am not a fan of Criminological theories, but liked Dr. Duntley's class. You could tell that he was doing a lot to try to make his lectures interesting and relatable. I met with him several times outside of class and he gave me all the time I wanted to go over old exams and answered all of my questions. His exams are fair and he curves them.
I had Prof. D. for Sex, Power, Conflict. Every week we had to either write a reaction paper or write three responses to other student's papers. Easy A on all of those, but not on the exams. Despite being open-note, exams are very difficult but he at least curved each one. Lectures are based on PowerPoint slides but require notes to complete.
He's well liked but only if you never disagree with him. He is a generally good guy though and an easy grader. This class to me was pretty stupid. Learned nothing and learning objections weren't really clear. I'm happy with the A regardless but I wouldn't take this again.
I had professor Duntley for Honors Sex, Power, Conflict. He was my favorite professor in my first semester at Stockton. He encouraged the class to discuss the course topics during lectures. When there were disagreements, he pushed students to support their arguments with evidence. For him opinions don't count. Better evidence stronger arguments.
I am a CRIM major and I was so excited to take Duntley's classes. I signed up for two of his classes and I dropped them on the first day. The amount of work that he had planned out for the semester was absolutely atrocious. He's funny but he's not as nice as everyone thinks. I will never sign up for one of his classes again.
I have taken every course that I can with Dr. Duntley. His lectures are interesting and even fun most of the time. He asks a lot of questions, so classes can be more like conversations than lectures. I've gone to his office hours many times and he always has been helpful. Assignments are due almost every week, but they're mostly easy.
I am taking Professor Duntley's online Theories class and it's great! It's an online class, with a long detailed syllabus, which is very helpful. If you follow the syllabus, then you're set. When I've had questions, he gets back to me fast. He is also on campus every day, so its easy to meet in person. It's the best online class I've taken!
The class was fascinating and Prof. Duntley really brought the material to life. I didn't know that shows like Criminal Minds got things so wrong. If you want to understand what forensic psychology is really about, you should definitely take Duntley's class.
I took Professor Duntley's online Theories class. It's not difficult nor is it easy, it is fair. If you actually watch the lectures, read the readings, and read the syllabus to see what he's looking for you will get an A! You get a fair amount of work as well. I am definitely taking one of his classes again!
The Sex & Violence CRIM capstone class with Dr. Duntley is challenging, but also awesome. If you keep up with the work, it's no problem. He's also one of the nicest professors at Stockton.
Horrible. Sets you up for failure. Practically nothing you talk about in class is on the exam, it's all from the novels he makes you read, and it's not like he gives you a study guide to guide the 350 pg readings. Also I'm taking a CJ capstone. It's the end of the semester and all we've talked about is SEX. WHERE IS THE TALK ON VIOLENCE.
Dr. Duntley is the best professor I've had at Stockton. This is the second of his classes that I've taken. The other one was his summer online class. Both were great. The required work is spread across the semester and the homework assignments are a breeze -- basically, read this and write about your thoughts. If you can get a seat, take him!
He teaches the real deal about forensic psychology. Lectures are great - lots of interesting criminal case references and funny cultural references. Definitely keeps your interest in class. Nice guy and easy to approach.
Prof. Duntley had everything laid out from the first day of his online class, which made it easy to know what I had to do and when it had to be done. Things were due on the same day every week, so it was also very predictable. He responded fast to questions and even met with me in person a couple of times over the summer. Duntley's the best!
I took Dr. Duntley's two online GSS classes last summer--Good & Evil and Psychology of Human Mating. The topics were so interesting, most of the time the classes didn't feel like work. His Human Mating class should be required to learn about what your Bae is thinking. Big windows to turn in assignments and do exams. Wish I could take them again!
I didn't know there was so much left to learn about human motivation and crime until taking his class. Dr. Duntley is like listening to an encyclopedia of interconnected knowledge. Class is awesome. Nuts & Bolts: Only a fraction of the course grade is from exams. Most of your grade is from small assignments spread across the semester.
Great professor. His online Human Mating class was easy to get through, just follow the course schedule. He met with me in person even though it was a summer online class. He's definitely a brilliant person, but he's also a really nice person, which seems to be a rare combination in college professors.
He's a great professor. It was a fun class. I learned a lot of new stuff, which wasn't covered in other CRIM or SOBL classes.
CRIM majors! Take Prof. Duntley's research class in the summer. All the topics related to research methods are discussed by looking at studies that provide examples of the different kinds of research methods. It's the same stuff covered in other sections of the class, but a ton easier to learn. He is super nice too.
Good & evil is a great online class! It's not what I expected. It's better!
There is not a lot of interaction with the professor because it is an online class. But what matters most to me is that I learn something and know what is expected. On both counts, Professor Duntley should be lauded for his exceptional work. It has been a fascinating class and every detail of my responsibilities were clearly specified.
I took Good & Evil online with him summer 17. He is a very nice person and reapectful and always want to help the students. But too mich reading and less projects for a short period of time. If you do bad in any one of the assignments then you are screwd. He rarely replies to email too and take too long to grade. Thank god i am done with it.
Dr. Duntley is my favorite Stockton professor by far! I wouldn't have made it through Research Methods without him. He is patient and kind. He treats you like you're a person who matters to him.
I've learned a ton from Professor Duntley. I wish he taught more classes. He is a living encyclopedia of information about the causes of violence, stalking, and homicide. Awesome professor and class!
Dr. Duntley is the best professor I've had at Stockton. And the smartest. He treats you like a real person instead of being condescending like a lot of other professors. If you have a chance to take his classes, just do it.
So I took this class in the summer. My only issue with this class is, you spend more time doing the homework assignments(everyday there hw) rather than talking about and working on the proposal itself. Talked about it the second day and thats it. When you do the proposal directions aren't clear at all. Most of the stuff you have to figure out
Most of this class was discussions about topics in the books we read. He doesn't care about attendance, but he does give pop quizzes on the readings and if you're not there, you can't take the quiz. He's extremely knowledgeable, but there are 5 people who talk continuously and it becomes difficult to have your opinion and thoughts heard.
I took Duntley for Honors Freshmen Seminar, and he is a great person and a great teacher. Most of the class was discussion based so it was better and more fun to go to. He does give pop quizzes if you have books to read, only 1 or 2 per book, just beware of those. I am glad I took him.
Dr. Duntley was my senior capstone class professor in CRIM. It was an awesome class. Most of the class was discussion. There is a research lab component, which was a great way to get to know some classmates better. You can't go wrong with Duntley.
took a summer class it was everyday except frodays with every thursday being an exam on material. 2 chapters to read everyday and each student will present chapter on their said day which is 10% of grade. Participation counts and is needed which is 15%. 10%research proposal. 25%homework 40% exams its straight forward and easy.
Syllabus makes him sound super tough but he's one of the best professors I've had. Exams are more book than lecture based though. He treats you like a real adult and expects you to perform like one. The research paper is tough but he'll help you however best he can. If you're able to, I highly suggest taking him! Great class and professor overall
Hardly ever responds to emails. Ridiculous.
Wonderful professor. He answers his emails pretty quickly and answers your questions when clarification is needed. Attendance is NOT mandatory, however, you can miss a lot if you miss one lecture. Exams are textbook base but he will curve exams.
I've taken him for Research & Eval as well and he's an awesome professor. He really cares about your grade and he gives good feedback. He started the semester with biology and psychology in the first half and then we got into the meat of the class. The class flowed really well and it's great if you like science and evolution. Highly recommend!
I had Professor Duntley as my CRIM professor, he does not allow any electronic devices in class. Meaning no phones or computers. How he expects us to take 20+ pages of notes by hand and not on by typing them up on a computer is absurd.
Professor Duntley does not let you have any electronics out and sent an email saying he will take points off if he sees you're device. He only goes over a powerpoint. The tests are difficult, and once you accidentally exit out of the exam without finishing, he would just say "oh well"
He says attendance doesn't matter, but it does. He is so lecture heavy, and when he asks you a question he barley lets you get a word in. He also doesn't put in grades on time, literally waited until the end of the semester. I'm a senior, and now I have to repeat the class because of his last minute grading.
This class was mainly discussion based on the books we read throughout the semester. There was only six grades total. The discussions were alright and each day it was different.
Very strict "no electronics allowed" policy in class. Our lectures tended to be somewhat unrelated to the books we were reading. Overall, he's a decent professor though.
Classes are heavily based on discussion. There were 2 papers and 3 projects throughout the entire semester which is what our grade was based on. Because there is a lot of discussions, reading the books are very important.
Took this class for a capstone and it was so easy. The midterm and final is online, the capstone paper is only 10% of your grade, and you have a quick and easy video project. The teacher is very into masks and his syllabus is intimidating but I highly suggest taking this class, it was one of the easiest ones I have ever taken.
took good & evil over the summer w/ 3 other classes. took a lot out of me. gives you 3 papers due every 2 weeks, not bad.the amount of reading/videos he wants you to watch is insane especially w/ other classes homework + the fact i work a lot in the summer. seems nice, never met in person but just has high expectations, especially in the summertime
Professor Duntley was a great professor for my first semester at Stockton and my first Criminal Justice class. If you go to class and submit your work on time, I don't know how you would miss an A.
I took this class previously with another professor and didn't find it interesting, so I dropped it. Professor Duntley's version of the class was really interesting. He linked all the research studies and methods back to the criminal justice system. Follow instructions for assignments and you will get an A.
While Prof. Duntley is very good at what he does and very knowledgeable in his field, I don't feel comfortable in his class due to the political ideologies being pushed in class. I feel very uncomfortable to the point that I avoid participating at all. There was a lot of hostility from my peers towards anyone slightly right-winged in politics.
You kind just read books together and do projects. personally I don't think he actually read any of the material or our assignments. YOU CANT USE ANY TECHNOLOGY like no computer or phone which is crazy. also u have to buy all the books. also talking to him is like chewing on a piece of cardboard.
You will get 100 on everything as long as you submit it, but he's so strict, and never allows late work, absences, or tech, and he can sometimes be rude when people break those rules.
