While the subject lf was initially confusing the professor was very professional and prompt-he made sure that it was easy to interpret and understand. He quickly answered all questions. It proved to be a very beneficial course. He is honestly one of the best online instructors I have ever dealt with.

I enjoyed this class very much. Professor Farrington was very professional and timely in responding to any and all issues. He gave encouragement and praise which always helps boost morale. He also gave constructive criticism when needed which helped me be a better student. Professor Farrington really cares about his students and their success.

I loved this class! We had amazing, gear turning, class discussions, that really had me excited to come back, with consistent class participation from everyone! I had taken this class this past spring, and although I don't want to say I was confused throughout, but rather split on what to believe, or/ "speechless" so to say.. Farrington was good at bringing certain details out in our discussions that after class, and even today I'm like I GET IT! AND I start thinking "outside" of the box.. so to speak.

A legitimate life changing course, if you are in that sort of stuff. If not, it will be. eventually. The external sources are the important ones. I legitimately opened my textbook 2x because I got WAY more out of listening to the professor than I did in the book. Take this course.

Loved how we got through the textbook and then got to move on to more hands on material, great idea. I loved being able to read real material rather than the textbook. The Hobbes experiment was wonderful. You explained things clearly and concisely and I enjoyed that. I wished we had more time to discuss things, even in a 3 hour class.

Josh was a tremendous professor! I did not have any interest in Philosophy one bit. However, Mr. Farrington opened my eyes to something new and I am very thankful for that!

Farrington approaches teaching differently than most teachers, but in a good way. His approach helps students to understand and apply philosophy, rather than memorize things that they will soon forget. He is also very flexible and understanding when it comes to assignments and so on.

I knew when i left Farringtons Philosophy class i would sign up for another class he taught! Although Plato is not an easy book to read or understand, Josh made it fun and took the time to make sure each and everyone of his students understood. Farrington approach in teaching is differently from all of the other teachers I have had he is a dam good professor, I started off in his class with a so-so idea of the class and by the end of it found out how much I really liked it and He is very flexible when it comes to the homework assignments that he hands out.

He was my favorite professor this semester, he is there for his students and is willing to help however he can. I loved his teaching style and would take another one of his classes in a heartbeat! Josh teaches ethics in a way that is very easy to swallow for even those who might have a slight language barrier. His use of real world topics involving ethics truly solidifies the conveyed message of his subjects and dispels any confusion. Please take this class even if you don't need the credits. I've probably learned more in this class than I've ever learned in many of my classes in high school/beginning of college. Farrington gave us all of the information we needed, and then some more, to ensure that our understanding of philosophy was solid and applicable to real world things. I really enjoyed this class with him, highly recommend it!

Mr Farrington was always a pleasure to go into a 8:30 AM class. His lectures were very well planned out and he allowed for us to be the ones to be in control of how the class went. He used clips from todays youth and it allowed us to make connections with what he was teaching us about. His class let me to learn many long lasting life skills!

It's the approach that Josh takes to teaching that really makes his classes stand out. Instead of the traditional cookie-cutter approach with PowerPoints, weekly quizzes, and academic papers, he uses a conversation based structure where everyone has the chance to share their thoughts and feelings, while still being accademiclly stimulated.

I had interacted with him before taking the Ethcis 101 class at Ivy Tech. He is a very open professor. Great convoersationaliat and consistently encourages students to, think for themselves. He has my respect as a professor who strives to allow his class to best meet the learning needs of his students. Entertainment is expected 110%

Mr Farrington was an entertaining instructor over the course of the last semester. Assignment wise the class isn't very difficult, but hat made it stand out to me was how he challenged us students to think. I look forward to taking his ethics class in the upcoming semester.

This class was a last minute switch for me, and it was one of the best decisions I've made in my college career. Take a course with Mr. Josh Farrington. You won't be disappointed.

When having discussion based lessons, it helped me understand the topics more thoroughly. He genuinely cares for the student's future as well.

Professor Farrington was great! I totally recommend taking his class! His lectures are amazing & he is invested and there for you whenever you need him. I chose to take this class as an elective & I am so glad that I did. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but Ethics changed me and my perception. W/O Josh, the class wouldn't be the same.

Professor Farrington is kind, funny, and knows what he is talking about! I recommended his classes to my friends and I would like to take other classes by him in the future. I learned a lot in this class and had a great time doing it.

Josh was the most helpful , caring , inspirational teacher I have ever had . He was also my advisor and helped guide me down the road I needed to be . He was always accessible and willing to help. He was funny , and spoke about such real relatable topics . I would recommend him to ANYONE. He was a blessing to me !

He teaches like no other teacher Ive ever seen before. Its different, to me thats good change. How he goes about his classes and students make his class worth getting up and going to, no matter how long the class may be. He keeps my attention the whole class period and is very understanding when it comes to life and school.

One of the most open minded and laid back professors I've ever had. You put a lot of effort into your teaching and it shows. You care a lot about every student he has, your willing to set up dates to talk about anything, even if it's issues outside of schooling. You're amazing, don't ever change, you're one of the best out there!

Josh is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He never hesitates to help when you have questions and will always make time for you when need it. His lectures are thought-provoking and relevant. I have taken 4 classes with him and have never had a bad experience. Classes are very discussion based. He has a gift and passion for teaching!

Farrington was a great instructor to have, and manages to get his students to actually think and learn for themselves, as opposed to simply having us regurgitate knowledge on test and having us forget a few minutes afterwards. Glad i had him and could not recommend him enough,

There are no words to describe Joshua! He is the most amazing teacher. He cares for his students and wants his students to do great in class and outside of class. He makes you believe in the impossible. He is an amazing person and teacher to know ! I am super excited I had him as my professor!!

Josh probably the best teacher I've ever had! You'll never find someone that cares more about his students and he really does tailor his class to his students. If you have the chance to take one of his courses I highly recommend him! I didn't know what to put for attendance, if you miss a day or two it's not going to kill you, it's easy to catch up

One of the only teachers in my learning career that actually caught my attention and helped me grow. Ive gotten attached to three whole teachers my entire life and he is one of them.

I really enjoyed him. Not only was he funny during classes but helped explain these tough lesson that anyone can understand it. I enjoy it can relate back and gives the opportunity to apply this course to your life and i thought it was an important value you get from your answer is not wrong type but more it can be improved on.

He was awesome to have in class! he was able to make even the most boring lectures creative and entertaining.

Professor Josh was one of the best instructors I've had at Ivy Tech -- he made every lecture interesting and it never felt like a chore to go to class! Josh is very willing to help students and he makes time to meet with them even if it's not a required part of his job. This professor is amazing and I highly recommend taking any of his courses!

With this class and professor you know and you feel cared about and that your opinion matters. You also always have the chance to discuss your feedback and have helpful and interesting conversations. It is never boring and there is always a chance to have fun and joke around and learn so much.

Makes class extremely enjoyable. There are readings, however he goes over them in class and presents them in a very funny way so that you can understand it. He is also always available if you have questions. I would highly recommend this professor to everyone.

I really enjoyed this class, I took this class because I needed a fill in class and I am so glad that I did. I have never met a man that truly cared for people like Josh does. He genuinely has a good heart and is there to help students with their work and with their problems that are not even school related. One of a kind guy!

Hes a very entertaining and involved teacher, He is fun to watch and presents the material in a understandable way.

He is a very good teacher in this topic, as he teaches it not via lecturing but in-class debate. The assignments are easy and rely mostly upon your understanding and proof that you actually read the material; they ask for your interpretation and opinions. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to learn philosophy in a lively manner.

If you are at al interested in taking Philosophy or Ethics, definitely take it with Farrington. It's far from tedious and mundane. The lectures are awesome and interesting, and I always left genuinely satisfied at what I had learned.

HE IS THE BEST. I often think about my time in Josh's class. I caught him at the beginning of his career at Ivy Tech, and I am truly blessed. This man offers a space where ALL, regardless of background and education feel comfortable to share their life experience and view via Philosophy. This is how education was meant to be.

Farrington is absolutely amazing, hes always down to chat whether it be about your class with him or just to talk about you. He provides amazing feedback and cares immensely for his students. He grades based off of what you learned not tests or quizzes. He wants to see your knowledge grow, not word memorization. If you can, take courses with him.

350 characters couldnt do him justice. An inspirational, caring, and utterly hilarious guy who values the lessons he teaches. An easy A, not because hes lax, because he makes even some of the most dense readings come to life and portray the societal value of them. Incredibly innovative and observant. Loves his work/students and shows it.

Josh made the class fun for everyone and made it involve everyone. He explains things in a clear and thorough perspective. Simple everyday checkin assignment and gave great feedback. He's invested in his students well being and only wants the best for them. Would definitely have him as a teacher again!

I think that Mr Farringtons teaching skills is great and I personally do not have any critiques for him he was very laid back and fun and made the lessons very easily understandable which I thank him for he is one of my favorite teachers all around

The class involves lively discussions rather than just lectures, and assignments focus on demonstrating understanding rather than rote memorization. unstuck AI was a helpful study tool alongside the course materials. Overall, a great professor who cares about student learning.

He took a few classes to get used to since he's pretty eccentric, but he gives good and engaging lectures while doing a good job of making it conversational to enhance the learning experience. His grading is fair and the coursework isn't difficult.

Some students could see this class as "easy," but if you truly engage with the work and use it as an academic exercise and go above and beyond the minimum required word count, it could be moderately difficult. I can say with certainty that this class was one of the best ones I've taken so far, as well as one of the better professors.
