I recomend Josh for any class he teaches. He makes all material very clear and makes sure you understand it.

If you go to class, take good notes, and pay attention then reading the text book is optional for an A. I got an A and I read less then 5 pages in the entire text book. He is one of the best teachers at Mt Sac. He knows his stuff, and makes class fun.

A very gentle and nice guy. A bit unorganized, but makes up for it by being very interesting in his lectures, and approachable in his personality. If he misplaces your test or essay, he'll definitely let you re-do it :-)

Josh is seriously the coolest proffesor I have ever had. I have taken him for Psycolgy 1A, Psycolgy 1B, Psycolgy 3, and Psycolgy of sexuality. The reason being he has honesty made a big impact in my life and made me want to become a Psycolgy major.

This teachers is da bomb. He will really teach you about psychology and how it relates to everyday life. He is very understandable and helfull and dis guy is FUNNNYYYY. He will show his home videos and they will make you laugh like a monkey.

First of all, he is hot (in an adorable and yet erotic kind of way. But for all you guys, he is still really cool too. Very laid back attitude. But his class isn't easy, you do have to study. If you like pscy. then you should take him. I got a B.

Took Josh for Biopsych, he's kind of a goofball, rambles a lot and fell behind in the schedule, but I learned some stuff, the quizzes and tests aren't hard if you take good notes and study. He's pretty nice and always willing to help those who need it.

Dr. Knapp is a bit of a goofy guy, he makes alot of jokes that sometimes are not funny, but that makes the class less boring, the lecture part is long and boring but it is helpful just like him, overall the class was fun and easy the tests are but don't forget to type your note card it will help.

He's a great professor--lectures are indeed helpful as he is clear and willing to go back and touch any points you are not certain of. This class does require reading, however he makes it fun. And hes cute, love his hair =)

Dr. Knapp is the only professor I would take for psych at Mt.SAC. He inspired me to become a psych major since he made everything sound so interesting! Girls, it's definitely easy to fall in love with him making it easier to pay attention in class! His class is nothing if not intersting and fun.

Took his PSY1 and SEX class about 3 years ago so this is kinda of a old rating but he was a good guy. Very helpful and easy to understand. And he does turn bright red when he has to talk about sex and the female sex organs makes the class worthwhile hahah

I didn't need the assigned books (didn't use them once), all his exams are lecture based, you could get away with just buying the older edition of the books if you insist on having. I got a B and an A. Very approachable person, take his psych classes, they are good for you!

Still, he knows his class is difficult so tries his best to help us out; his doors are always office hours to go over material and he answers emails/phone calls, too. Great guy. let me start off by saying how amazingly hot josh is and he has the most killer eyes. haha...the class is great. its pretty easy if you take notes, attend class, study what he says, and pass the tests. the only thing is that he was always late to class, but who could blame him. i will be seeing him in the fall again. :)

Knapp is an amazing professor! If you ever have the chance to take him do it! I didnt even read the book and got an A in his class. His lectures cover exactly what will be on exams. I have taken most PSYC classes with him before I transfer about three years ago. I am now graduating in 2007. Upon examing my undergraduate education, his is the BEST psychology teacher. Cool, funny and extremely helpful!

Josh is a really nice guy. He really cares about his students;but, if you don't really like science, this will not be interesting. I took the class because I thought it would be easy.....I was completely wrong. This class includes a lot of memorization, quizzes, and midterms. The final was way hard. Avoid, if your looking for an easy class!

Awesome prof! This was definitely my favorite class. He is very easy-going and always available to help you. I would recommend abnormal psych to everyone. He changes the way you view mental illness. Knapp was an awesome professor but permanently damaged my GPA. I went into his office hours to ask him what time/date our final was, and he gave me the right time, but the wrong date. Result, I missed and failed my final. Realizing this error, he tried to reschedule for me, but kept failing to produce the test. I would've had an A, but got a C....

Hands down the best professor I've ever had. Took his Psyc19 and 1B classes. If I could take all of my psyc classes with him teaching, I would, because he teaches every topic clearly and makes it interesting, even the hard bio stuff. My class was 3 hrs long from 7-10pm, and there was never a dull moment. I definitely recommend any of his classes.

I had Knapp fall of 08 and I have to say he's my fav teacher so far. he's EASY, tests are EASY (lets you use notecard), hes interesting/funny/chillax, and only 1 HW assignment which was this ez paper that he let ppl re-do if they got a C or lower, EASY A for me

An interactive class with a sense of humor makes it all the better! ...Shame on you if you go to class expecting an easy A, minimal attendance, and a hot professor (which is irrelevant to the purpose of school anyway). Best PSYC teacher at Mt. Sac hands down. He knows his stuff, but when he's not sure about some material he admits it too (it's very rare that a student presents him with a question he doesn't know the answer for). He cares about the students, and he makes bio psyc fun. His lectures about mood and how to cope with it was super helpful.

He's funny and tries to keep the class interesting. You have to memorize stuff in order to get a good grade but I found the class interesting so it came pretty easily. Also, if you have a personal issue and no one to talk to, he definitely helps in that area too. Very helpful and easy to talk to.

Dr. Knapp is very straight-forward. Gives you his expectations and it is up to you to earn your grade. I recommend heavy flashcard use in order to succeed. I got an A in the class with these strategies.

Knapp is an AWESOME professor, and is my favorite thus far. The class did seem to have quite a bit of trouble in the class grade wise, but you should be fine as long as you put effort into studying (I got a high A by doing this).

Allows a note card for tests and 2 for the final. One writing assignment that is super easy and kinda fun. Covers almost all material on the test in class. Bottom line. Awesome!

Dr. Knapp is a great professor. He's very knowledgeable, approachable, nice, funny and GORGEOUS! (haha) He allows you to use 1 notecard for exams and 2 for the final (front and back). Study the handouts he gives you and you will be fine. (Took both Psych 1b and Psych 19 with him.)

Dr. Knapp is hilarious, his lectures are crystal clear and almost always powerpoint. Sometimes he'll even give you copies. Tests are pretty easy but he does include some questions from the book alone- not many, but still. Overall, its a fun, easy class.

Good professor in that he actually cares about his students. As easy as he used to be, that isn't the case anymore. For tests and quizzes you must know the information and be able to apply it, and some of the questions can be tricky. The class average is around a B, but if you go to him for help he will go above and beyond to help you get an A.

Dr. Knapp is an amazing professor; I cannot stress this enough. He genuinely cares about his students and teaches the subject matter efficiently. He makes the the class entertaining and if you work a even just little, you can get a good grade. If I could, I would certainly take his class over.

Dr. Knapp is an excellent professor who cares a lot about his students. He will do what ever he can to help you earn an A, but he is not easy. Study the textbook even though he says you won't need it because more than you think will end up on the test, but most if from his lectures so go to class! He is funny and relates well. Heavy focus on bio.

He is undoubtedly the best professor at this institution. He will do all in his power for your success, and wants you to not only strive for your best effort in his class, but to excel in your passions of live. Extremely modest and intelligent.

Abnormal Psych was fun with Dr. Knapp. Second class I've taken with him. He is a great professor who does get off track now and then. He is not easy at all, but very helpful and clear about what he wants. Go to him if you need help and want to get a good grade. He is very reasonable and will help you get there. He truly care about his students.

Took bio psych once w/ another professor,& it didn't work. Took BioPsych with him & everything became crystal clear. He is soo funny. His tests r kinda easy, & based on lecture, which is half ppt and half notes he writes on the board. The only time u need the book is if he didn't get time to lecture on something. One of my FAVORITE professors. A little awkward, but makes class fun, gives a long break in the class, lets us have a note card for exams & 2 for the final. Only thing is he doesn't follow the syllabus outline. Other than that everything else is great

Only had class once a week, so it was a 3 hour lecture. He tried his best to keep lecture fun. I love how he is so passionate about his job that he flies from Oakland everyday, just to teach. Tests/quizzes are kinda hard, but if you study, then you can ace it. I actually got an A on my midterm that others got C or below on. Just study :-)

Dr. Knapp is an incredible person both in and out of the classroom. If you take the time to get to not only know him, but also appreciate the material the class is an incredible experience.

Absolutely one of my favorite classes. Very understanding, helpful, and genuinely wants you to succeed. Each lecture is clear and posted on Moodlerooms. He doesn't give homework, however, I find that this beneficially increased my responsibility to study. He is clear about and lists what will be on the next test/exam. I recommend his class to all.

He was extremely approachable and helpful, even in his online class. His lectures even feature short-length videos featuring explanations and visuals. He also includes a transcript for convenience. Very interesting class, you will pass if you participate and do the work. No final, only quizzes.

His class is quite simple, he makes the concepts very easy to understand in the lecture but a bit tougher on the actual exam. It is easy to tell that he is intelligent and knows what he is talking about, is very genuine and kind, but a little bit odd sometimes too. Extremely generous and fair professor-would highly recommend!

Knapp is an extremely rare professor because he sincerely cares about his students and their success, gives great lectures and notes, and is very fair. His class concepts are not extremely easy, but with a good amount of studying, an A is likely. He is very easy to talk to both outside and inside the classroom and works hard to help his students

TAKE PROFESSOR KNAPP! He is such a genuine and brilliant professor, and seeks to improve student learning. He is the only professor I have had who discussed career options/ realities and offered to help students outside of class with how to prepare/ make themselves strong candidates for applications etc. Fairly easy class, you will learn a lot!

Took Psy1A online and I was a bit skeptical because when the semester started my daughter was only 4 months old and I didn't know what to expect from an online course. I am glad I took this class with Prof. Knapp. Easy A if you submit all assignments, no tests only quizzes. Discussion forums are interesting and his lectures are clear.

Take PSYCHOLOGY 1A online with professor Knapp! He is so nice. His lectures are not hard to understand. Assignments are quite fair, not hard. There are quizzes and no tests. He makes the course very easy. As long as you complete your assignments, there is no reason why you shouldn't pass his class.

He's such a chill professor. Maybe a little too chill. As long as you do everything, this should be a semi easy A. He allows notes cards for the tests & final. He especially enjoys when people come to his office to discuss the lectures. He cancels class a lot, so he often will rush at the end of the unit and cram 3 lectures into one. Great person.

If you are a psyc major, you should def take him. He not only gives great lectures but also he is there for all his students. He is a great person, educator, and advisor. He let you use flash cards and give extra credit. You will learn something beyond the subject and he is very inspirational. Take his class!

I took Prof. Knapp's PSYC 1A class online in Fall. I didn't read the book once, missed and assignment, and still got a B. If I wouldn't have missed that assignment I would've gotten an A for sure. Easy class, chill teacher.

Professor Knapp was great, he makes himself easy to relate with, and really approachable in lecture and out. His lectures are funny and entertaining. He really cares about his work and will try his best to answer any questions you may have.

I loved this class! I felt that I learned so much and it was something to look forward to every week. His tests are mainly based on his lectures, so if you take good notes and pay attention in class, it'll be easy to receive an A. He helped me out with outside questions relating my major, and he's very easy to approach! :)

He knows what he is talking about. His tests are heavily based on lectures, so it's worth to go to class. His lectures can get a little boring, but he makes good irl connections. He takes time to clarify any confusing topics; however, he loses track time sometimes. This makes it difficult to get all the information needed before an exam.

He had us do an out of school project with other classmates. He is very entertaining and funny but he gets distracted on his lectures sometimes. The exams are heavily based on lectures so make sure to take notes. You will get some textbook only subjects to study for some exam reviews. He is very caring and easy to talk to.

Great online professor! The overall class was structured really well. Every week you need to participate in the forums. After that its just a couple of quizzes. I highly recommend taking this class if you just want an A.

Even when I didn't pass his class, I would still encourage others to take his class. Involvement amongst other classmates is quite infrequent. Earn high scores on midterm, final exams. I probably should have went to speak to him about improving test scores during this past semester. He is very patient with his students.

I really enjoyed his class. Lectures were straightforward and he told you everything you need to know on the 3 quizzes, 2 midterms and final exam which were also straightforward. Homework was not that hard too. Some of the content was pretty hard but he made it easy to understand. Get ready to study though.

Take this professor for intro to psych! Take the quizzes and submit discussions on time and you will get an A! If you take the online class make sure you study the modules he posts and take good notes, pics, etc because he does remove them before posting quizzes. This class is composed of quizzes+discussions only. Perfectly achievable A! No book!

If you struggle with sciences and need to fill that requirement this is the class and professor you want. Hes super caring and wants all his students to pass. He allows a cheat notecard for exam and provides all the information during lectures. Theres really no homework except for a paper which he gives you from the first day of class to begin.

A great professor who is very casual and caring. He frequently updated us with what was going on that week and had clear expectations. He had a lot of interesting things to say about abnormal psychology and I did learn a lot. The class was very easy- likely because our reading assignments were literally enjoyable to read- I would read on for fun.

Professor Knapp is a great instructor. Well organized online class, interesting and informative. Proofread your work, answer discussion in depth. Be sure to read and study the theory's and reading in each module since quizzes can be a bit tough. Always available over email and sends deadline updates each week, overall great ! ��

professor knapp is by far one of the best professors ive had. he truly cares and will make arrangements for students to reach him outside of class. if you have any questions whatsoever hes willing to help. he keeps lectures interesting and fun, while making sure people are learning.

Such a great teacher! His lectures are all posted on canvas and all homework is very easy to understand and easy to manage since they are al due on Thursdays for discussions and Sundays for replies for students. I didn't get the right book, unfortunately, but his lectures were enough for me to pass with an A. He is very caring for his students.

I would highly recommend this course for summer/winter. His online class is very insightful/interesting, which made it super easy! Study his lectures since his quizzes are very detailed. Screenshot all lecture notes since he takes them weekly. Stay on top of the deadlines and word count for discussions. Be concise and straight forward! Take him!!!

async class, super easy. 5 quizzes worth 100 points every 2-3 weeks or so. he posts modules with the lecture notes which disappear at the end of the week so be sure to take notes, u will need them to do well on the quizzes. other than that it's just weekly discussion posts. he's pretty hands off but easy to reach if u email him. overall good!!

Professor Knapp is awesome his lectures were great. He gives great guidance and feedback on assignments. The Discussions are also pretty awesome. The only thing I wish I could change is to have been able to take this class in person.

Professor Knapp was probably my favorite professor Ive taken thus far at Mt. SAC. Hes so genuine and caring towards his students. grade depends a lot on discussion boards. 1 documentary film to watch & book to read aside from textbook. I didn't read textbook at all but got a 97%. Easy grader as long as you fulfill what he's looking for. Quizzes are easy. Lectures disappear 1 week after it's posted, so keep on top of it. Great professor and easy class to take! 2nd time w him!

A very nice professor, in general, would be better if he actually cares a little bit more about students and their grades a little. Overall, better than most other professors, and is easy to complete his work and sessions. A great professor despite some flaws.

He is really nice teacher. He gives extra credit opportunities to improve the class. Video notes are clear and interesting. The project on neuroplasticity was very fun to do. I loved his class.

He's amazing! He's very straightforward and clear about what his students need to do in order to pass the class. There's a discussion board almost every week, and the tests and quizzes are really easy as long as you keep up with the material each week. The weekly modules close at the end of every week though, so take notes! Easy A, take him!!

Prof. Knapp was an amazing and organized instructor. He gave 5 quizzes (online) and 4 discussion posts. His assignments were 100 points each but easy to complete and pass as long as you study, pay attention, and take notes.

Easiest psychology class I have ever taken. We do have an assigned textbook but I didn't even use it. It was an 8 week course. Make sure to take notes on his lectures because they do disappear. Gives extra credit opportunities, tests are super easy if you read the lectures. The discussion boards are super easy as well.

I took professor Knapp during the first eight weeks of Spring semester. It was a fairly easy class. His lectures are engaging and well-structured. Be sure to take notes because his modules do disappear and you will need the lecture information for your quizzes. Overall, I enjoyed this professor and I would take him again.

Great professor, had him for psych 1a and 19 There isn't much hw but there are quizzes u do need to study for, if you apply yourself its an easy A. He's very caring and makes an effort to get to know his students he's very approachable.

Very kind professor. Attendance was not mandatory but to the right answers on his quizzes, you need to have taken notes on the PowerPoint in class. He is a very easy grader though and towards the end it was a lot of movie watching which was fine. Super sweet though.

Mr. Knapp is my favorite professor at mt. sac. He makes sure everyone understands what he's teaching and is really down to earth. he's a big surfer and talks about his life and how it relates to what he's teaching. class flys by and i'm always super interested in what he's teaching. NO HW and his tests are super easy. EASY A.

I cant stress it enough, he's just so goated. Use this class to fulfill your A-F requirements. He's kind professional and gives good criticism. Love him, take him for that easy A, just enjoy the class, its a breathe of fresh air when you're taking other difficult classes.

Psyc 19 for an eight week class, was quick and easy. Each week was organized, with lecture, quiz and discussion board. Everything prepared you to do good in the class !

Professor Knapp is probably one of the kindest teachers I have ever met. He is very encouraging and helpful, if you have any issues with assignments (which you most likely wont bc its so easy) he is always willing to help! This professor is one of the great professors I've ever seen! He's super chill and pretty good with lectures. He's humerus, always can make us laugh. Very understanding, receiving assignments that are 20 mins late. Showing his passion with teaching, even taking plane to work. Love him! And thankful.

I can't stress this enough, take his class for a guaranteed A! Class is graded based on a few things: 4 discussion posts and 5 online quizzes (including midterm and final) for an 18-week class. Lectures aren't mandatory and he provides 1 extra credit opportunity. Highly recommend taking his class for an easy A!

Joshua Knapp is an Angel from heaven. He'll help you with anything. Lots of quizzes/not many assignments, but it's all fairly easy. I always looked forward to his class, and he make every lecture fun :)
