I'm really surprised by the high ratings here. This professor is a huge flake, and it's obvious to me that he thinks himself above teaching a lower level course. I counted 6 classes he did not teach, and he regularly starts class 5-10 minutes late. If you're serious about learning the material you'll be disappointed by his lack of enthusiasm.

Linder definitely focuses more on the 'biological' than the 'anthropology' part of this course. We covered very little about modern humans, and spent the majority of the class on primate and hominids, which are his primary interests. Very enthusiastic and interesting teacher, optional attendance, and tests are somewhat difficult but follow slides.

Dr. Linder does such a good job making the material interesting and even entertaining. Homework readings and quizzes were nothing to stress about, but the exams were very tricky. Make sure you go to class! There is no textbook so the exams come from lecture, and Dr. Linder is hilarious so they are not hard to sit through. Would recommend to anyone!
