Josh is so calm and down to earth! He really engaged the class and the print outs seriously helped out because we learned AND got extra credit!!!
Lovelace is really organized and you can tell the guy loves teaching math. He explains well and is always willing to help an individual out. I'm in the computer aided math class, which has a lot of tedious busy work, but at least the teacher is good. Attend class (which a lot of people don't do) and you'll probably be fine.
PROFESSOR LOVELACE IS THE BEST TEACHER EVER! HE MAKES ALGEBRA SEEM LIKE ROLLER SKATING! HE'S THE BEST SINCE PYTHAGORAS, AND DREAMY, TOO...
Best teacher ever! you understand clearly what he teaches, always there to help you..attend class because if you miss one lesson you miss a lot!
He is the bomb..easy if you do the work..super laid back..very understanding..down to earth, super helpful if u ask
Lovelace is a good teacher, bery slow and calm. But he doesn't check his email and isn't very good at helping out students individually. Also, the aleks portion of his class(the lab) is a pain the butt. He is very understandable about homework out of the book, but aleks he is strict. Just go to the math lab a lot, you will be fine.
Lovelace is a great math professor and extremely helpful. There are weekly quizzes and assignments. Attend class, do the hw, and study/practice for the tests and you'll do fine. He really knows his stuff and makes math look easy. I never got confused with his lectures. He's kinda a quiet guy, but very nice and down to earth.
I really liked his teaching style. He went over the sections on the board and you would have either a quiz or test the next class. If you had any questions he would really try to help during the time he gave to work on homework. As long as you go on review days before exams and do the journal part of the homework you should pass. Totally loved him.
I'm horrible at math so I was not thrilled with this class. Ive heard he's one of the best professors in the math department but I still got a D. If you are decent in math, you'll be fine, but if math is challenging for you like me, I'd highly suggest taking math at a community college, No matter what, math is going to be harder at a state school.
He is a real chill guy and try to keep things comical for everyone in the class. However, if your late to his class you might as well not show up because he wont take any homework that is due on that day from you! Just show up on time and you'll be okay :)
he is very unreliable and not helpful at all. very unprofessional to not show up and not even send a notice. GIVES A TON OF HW.
lots of homework but he is a very nice teacher if u have to take this course take it with him he will def. be more helpful than any other prof in this subject.. lets you use a note sheet on tests
Awesome teacher! Made Pre Calc fun and easy to learn! The tests and quizzes are easy...you can use a note sheet on the exams. You need to put effort in this course though and the math lab helps heaps.
Easy class and im not good at math. Assigns hmk and journal evry week, do it it prepares you for the exams. There are several quizzes prior to the lesson taught. 3 exams and final. Very helpful professor.
This prof. is excellent at teaching. His class takes effort and ALEKS will be difficult at times but this prof. will be very helpful.
He won't accept homework if you show up 5 seconds late, even though he usually shows up late himself. I guess you just need to make sure you get there before him. He'll show up late, but won't give you the time back to complete quizzes and exams. Impossible to know what will actually be on exams, regardless of what he tells you.
He is a good professor. He depends A LOT on Aleks, so you have to do that. He prepares you well before tests and he's kinda funny to watch sometimes.
Good teacher! Occassionally gets boring. Also it would be helpful to have a general knowledge of pre-calc before the class because he tends to assume general math knowledge sometimes. He tries to be funny sometimes and its only funny because he's just goofy. Overall Good class though.
Pretty hard class. If you aren't a math genius you might fall behind. He doesn't fully explain math problems and will jump ahead through them. Tests are worth 75% of your grade so STUDY. Uses Aleks online which used up over 7 hours of my time each week and this was only half of the homework I had to do. He is a very nice and funny guy.
Pretty hard class. His tests are worth 75% of your grade but he allows you to use notes. Uses Aleks, which is very helpful, but also time consuming. His reviews for tests sometimes dont cover what is actually on the test. There are also quizzes every week.
Horrible teacher. Class is all tests and quizzes. He gives really easy examples in class then puts the hardest problems on the test. Also, he does not help when you ask for it.
Had him for Calc and he was the best math teacher I've ever had! Always friendly and ready to answer the most basic/stupid of questions. Quizzes are based off of hw and class prob, exams are based off of quizzes and he gives partial (MOST) credit for showing work. He writes notes on the board and they are really easy to understand and follow.
He reminds me of a leprechaun because he likes to jump every 10 minutes during lectures. He's a really cool guy too if you get to know him! He loves curry and dim sum. Tests were average and quizzes were easy as long as you do the homework, well. Get a study buddy for this class though!
If u have a gerneral idea of calculas u should do fine,if you dnt there are lots of nerdy ppl up in there...so dnt be shy and ask for help. Do ALL of the hw (due every fri) every quiz is reflected on the homework... Main advice do the extra credit assignment for the exams. helps boost ur grade. Its a hard class obviously but he makes it easy!!
Hes kinda cute in a way.;) only reason i could stay awake. He crakes some jokes that are only funny because no one laughs. The class was ok for me. Im no math genius but if u can tolerate math u should do fine. ASK for help ... other students will help u. Really easy to understand i recommend him
spent the entire class lecturing for 3 hours and could never spare time for questions in class, I spend enough time in class, why when i have a questions should i have to come to your office. I have a full time job and hours of homework
His class is very easy. If you do your homework then you will be well prepared for the quizzes and the exams. He is a chill guy.
Class was demanding. There is a quiz every weekend, with 3 assignments due at that time. 3 exams and a final. You must do the hw to pass the class. The exams can be challenging, but he lets you use a cheat sheet. I ended up with an A (96%) in the class. You can definitely get an A if you do all that is asked. Great Professor!
Despite being disorganized sometimes, i thought he was fair and okay professor. The thing i disliked about this class was that we barely used the books he told us to get at all. Quizzes and exams are good, just make sure you study.
Go to class take notes and you'll pass. He doesn't review much before tests but ask and he will answer.
Really good at explaining math, very willing to help you out if you don't understand. But for the love of all that is holy, do not just skip this class, you'll get behind very quickly. Also, you cannot make up any material for any reason, even for an emergency with documentation.
I took this professor for math 125 and am currently in calculus I (160). He's really good at explaining things during lectures, so the math is really easy to understand. He will help you, but you have to go to him. My only complaint is that he doesn't really review the homework too much in class, which would really help.
He has to be the best math 160 professor. I had to retake this class due to having a horrible professor previously but he made everything click and was always organized and willing to clarify any point no matter if it back tracked his lecture. He is a great professor and supper professional.
Great calculus teacher. Hard subject. One of the best professors I've ever had. He is extremely helpful and very good at helping you understand. Grading is fair and balanced and failing one exam can easily be made up with the final replacing the lowest score. Book is necessary.
I was so scared about taking calculus, especially since I didn't take a math class in over a year and the class I did take was trig. But, Professor Lovelace was so clear and he teaches everything very simply. You have to work hard of course, but probably the best calculus class I could have asked for.
Great teacher explains everything thoroughly. He is funny and always help you when you ask.
Very passionate professor. Make study buddies and do all of the homework the day it's assigned in the math lab. DON'T FALL BEHIND. Also, the textbook + solutions manual is all over the internet so torrent it and save $200.
Great teacher, make sure you do not fall behind because you will get lost. Use the math lab because it will help a lot. Class can get difficult but you just need to manage your time and studies.
Calculus is going to be a challenging course no matter what. Professor Lovelace made the material clear and never had a problem reviewing even the most basic material. This guy is probably one of the best math teachers I've ever had make sure to get him if you can
Really liked the class and professor! He's very clear and will go over the material again. Quizzes every Friday and three exams and one final. Studying is important! But he does let us take a page of notes in with us :)
We had 3 exams and a final, the final replaced the lowest exam. We were quizzed weekly and worksheets were randomly given. Also, Aleks was helpful but very time consuming. Attendance isn't mandatory. He offers plenty of extra credit! I would suggest you go to the math lab if you are having trouble.
GREAT professor. I'm not a "math person" but he made everything super clear and easy to understand. He offers quite a bit of extra credit--use it! He's always willing to answer questions as well. I can't recommend Prof Lovelace enough.
Make sure you go to class because you will far behind very fast towards the end of the semester. It definitely more difficult for me because I played a sport and tried to take this class. So I was not in class as much as I would have liked to have been. Make sure you form a study group and take detailed notes.
Not very good at what he teaches, especially near the end of the semester you might as well learn for the book. He is pretty vague on feedback, or just does not give any. Very unclear when you ask a question, he seems unsure himself if that really is the answer. Anyways he probably better off teaching MATH 125.
The professor takes the time to explain if you don't understand while in class. You don't need to go to the main lecture, but the math lab is a must. There are always quizzes on that day and his worksheets are hit or miss whether they will be in the math lab or in lecture. He gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. Online homework is horrible.
He is a really good teacher and gives great lectures, you can't get below a C in his class. As long as you do all the work and show up for class you can get an A.
I really looked forward to this class and was really disappointed in the quality. The examples he goes over in class are not anything like the homework. The quizzes and tests are not from the homework. He does not go over review problems and gives too much time in class to work on homework instead of lecturing in depth. I changed my depth of study.
He's amazing! Great attitude and great teacher. If you need help he's there. If you don't pass it's because you didn't go to class and didn't do the homework. Other than that, quizzes every Friday. Notes with the test and final. And tons of extra credit!
Excellent professor! He is very helpful and clear within his lectures. Provides various examples when he teaches or introduces a new topic. He andor the TALAs hold review sessions before exams. Offers extra credit assignments that will boost the exam grades and drops lowest quiz and exam grade. Highly, highly recommended!!
You have to work hard to get a good grade in his class, however their are a lot of extra credit opportunities to help you pass the class. He is very clear with his lecture and is always there to help students, you just have to ask. He lets you use a cheat sheet on the tests but you should still study for them, and quizzes every friday.
He is a horrible professor at teaching math 132. Either you can get C or you fail. Never expect an A from him.
He is a good teacher but as the semester he grades harder on test and quizzes. Make sure you ask questions to make sure you understand.
Lovelace is a great teacher! He has inspired me to want to become a math teacher like him. This class was difficult, but I appreciate the challenge. He likes to make geeky jokes here and there, which I truly appreciate :) totally a cool teacher
This was my second class with Professor Lovelace and he is, by far, the best math professor I've ever had. He breaks down the concepts in class, the homework given is relevant and somewhat challenging, and the tests are always what you expect them to be (no surprises). He also has a great sense of humor and makes class fun!
Horrible professor. Terrible lectures with easy and irrelevant examples that are nothing like the homework and exams. Gives a quiz every week. Out of 50 students in our class, over 30 did not pass. He does not curve. First "C" grade I have ever received. Avoid.
Great professor! I was his Learning Assistant for Math 125 and loved the way he taught. Took him for Math 160 and loved his class. I was not embarrassed to ask questions or ask for help when I needed it. Would love if he was my professor for all my upper math courses.
He gives so much homework. It really is for practice, but there are a lot of problems. He goes pretty fast too.
Not clear on anything. GIves irrevelant examples and is not the best professor to relate when you need 1 on 1 time.
Calc 2 isnt easy, but the LAs just made this class even more confusing and not easy. Plus the tests are pretty hard, don't expect an A on any of them
After Calc I, I didn't take Calc II until nearly 2 years later because I was waiting for the "right" professor. I've heard great things about him, so I decided to take his class instead of Puha's. BIG MISTAKE. Lovelace is a nice man and helps you when you're stumped. He gave out hw everyday that consisted of 30+ problems & his tests were TERRIBLE!
Very disorganized and very tough on students.
First of all, I'm a math major and this class had me worrying if I was going to pass or not. Homework is a waste of time because it is different than the lectures. He is a great teacher but the final exam was the hardest test I've ever had. The quizzes every Friday weren't too bad. I would not recommend this professor to any of my friends.
The final was the hardest test I've ever taken even though I studied really, really hard. Hw is a waste of time because it's much harder than the lectures. The hw was so hard the learning assistants/math lab couldn't really help you. The quizzes on Fridays were okay if you study lectures notes.
Truthfully, Professor Lovelace was a great math teacher, but unfortunately no matter how good the professor is, Calculus is just a hard subject to learn. There was weekly homework and quizzes, only 2 tests, and a final. 95% of your grade is based off of quizzes, tests, and the final (literally) so work hard. He tries his best. I'd take him again.
I have taken Calc twice and I did not do well in my first semester. I absolutely feared taking it again (but I had to) . To make long story short, professor Lovelace is great at what he does. He breaks down the concepts in a language we can all understand. I would have got a better grade if I did the homework, so that's on me. Take this class
I really struggle in math and that did not change when I took his class. Although he would try to be helpful, it never worked. His grading method was crazy. He'd mark you down for not having the proper steps to solve a problem, not caring if you got the answer right. He taught some material well, but I was left lost and confused most of the time.
DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN. Does not grade fairly will mark off half points for forgetting lim sign. Only 3 tests and quizzes every Friday and that makes up your grade. Better professor is Mercado!
Professor Lovelace is a very enthusiastic professor. He's passionate about the topic he's teaching but unfortunately he's too harsh of a grader. Even when I studied my hardest, memorizing things word for word, I usually ended up with a D on the exams. So be sure to be absolutely specific with all your answers or it's wrong.
He is a great man and truely cares but his teaching style is ridiculous hard. Asking him a question turns into another question. GO TO THE MATH LAB! bit even then . Quizzes every Tuesday! Bit all exams are the quiz answer so I memorized. Memorizing is great, final is hard! GOOD LUCK
If you are naturally a bad test taker, DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE! Has only 2 tests that are 40% of the grade, and even the final is 40%, which makes 80% of your grade tests. Plus, if you don't already know Calculus a little bit, might be a hard class to understand since the talks about more of the conceptual part of calc.
Professor Lovelace truly cares about his student's learning and success. He is strict on technology in the classroom so don't even think about texting during lecture! He only does this to make sure students are engaged and not distracting others, which is so helpful. Very good teacher, would definitely recommend.
If youre taking him for Math311-ElemSchlTeach-No Brainer, take him! He cares about his students success and offers extra credit opp's. His teaching philosophy is interesting. Lectures are well organized and easy to follow. The class may be a bit challenging for "non-math" students but doable. The class prepares you for CBEST/CSET. Great math prof.!
Professor Lovelace truly cares for his students, he wants you to pass. If you show up to class, take notes, and participate you will do good in class. He prepares you for everything you need to know. However, in my opinion, the homework from the textbook was sometimes different than what he taught so pay extra attention to the lectures.
Very hard grader and a speedy lecturer. SIT IN THE FRONT PLEASE
Professor Lovelace is a great math professor. He goes very in depth into the material and is very willing to answer questions. The lectures are very long. There's weekly quizzes, two midterms, a final, and a lot of homework, so make sure to study and sit up front. Awesome beard!
Gotta love taking the weekly quizzes and most inconsistent grading patterns, of course not even graded by him.
Always willing to help students. Explains lecture material very well and answers all questions that anyone has. Lots of hw problems, take advantage of it and use it as practice for weekly quizzes. Pay attention to example problems, they are similar to quizzes, and exams are similar to quizzes. Overall a great professor
Professor Lovelace is such an amazing professor! There isn't a limit to his passion towards Math and desire to help students succeed. Though the class can get difficult at times, he pushes you to want success. His lectures are interesting, he's available most of the week, and even offers extra credit . Keep on doing what you do professor Lovelace!
Lectures were full of helpful notes and advice. He's very helpful and available when you need it; He assigns a lot of homework weekly and there was a quiz every Friday. The quizzes were relevant to the topics learned, so study !! A lot of extra credit opportunities!! And very generous with grading !!
Calculus itself is a very hard class. He does his best to teach it to us. We have weekly quizzes(to help boost our grades), with no notes or homework help. We do not go over homework, we jump into the lecture. He teaches us easy examples that are easy to follow along, but the homework, quizzes, and test are far from it. There are 12 quizzes& 5exams
He grades very harshly. I ended up retaking the class with Zahedani, a far more effective instructor. His exams are long and lectures are dry.
His lectures are mainly him showing many examples of how to do the calculus problems. He is very detailed in his work and explains each step. Perfect for visual and audio learners. He will answer any questions during lecture. He gives one approximately 5 question quiz at the end of each week. Short time for quizzes but they are easier than the HW.
Calc is tough--Even more tough if its been a while since you've taken a math class. But fear no more. Lovelace presents not only colorful, and concise Lecture notes, but he is available during office hours conveniently located in the math center. First professor ever to take the time to say, step back, start from the basics and say: NEVER GIVE UP!
Great professor who is clearly very inspired by what he is teaching. Every class you will leave with your mind blown by some theory. However, hardest grader I've ever had.
I agree with this: We have weekly quizzes... We do not go over homework, we jump into the lecture. He teaches us easy examples that are easy to follow along, but the homework, quizzes, and test are far from it. Also he wouldnt let me makeup a test when my car broke down on my way to campus. Hard grader but its his student assistant who grades.
Lots of homework, and quizzes every session. Does not curve. Test/quizzes are 10x harder than the examples he uses to teach us.
Worst professor I have had. Good person but expects us to know the basics of calc coming in. So much homework that has nothing to do with the quizzes or exams. Exams make up most of the grade andyou will be extremely stressed. If you are up for the biggest math challenge then take this course.
Such a sweet guy but god the homework is so hard. I've taken a few years of calc previously but i'm struggling. Paid 100 dollars for the online homework and it is so confusing. Lovelace himself couldn't answer half the questions on it when we had a review day. Activity is mandatory, that's where you can get some points from quizzes and worksheets!
Alright at giving some examples, hard quizzes every week, LOTS OF HOMEWORK that is very very hard to complete, the homework in online and you only get a certain amount of tries to get the right answer. Moves way to fast and won't give you extra time to complete homework even when asked in advanced.
I am aware not many are geniuses at math, for the most part math is difficult. In my experience, Professor Lovelace was very clear in his lectures and not boring at all. Grades consists of 4 exams, one dropped and quizzes every Friday. Quizzes and exams were easy. Take him! You'll do good, just try. Answers questions during lecture too.
Professor Lovelace is prepared and has enthusiastic lectures, however his in class examples are much easier compared to those on the tests and quizzes, and he is a tough grader. The homework is much harder than you would expect, but thankfully he doesn't have questions this hard on his tests. Offered extra credit at the end which boosted my grade.
Lovelace is an amazing person by heart by not by the professor, late to his office hours and didn't care if he failed or if his students needed help. There are quizzes every Friday and the tests are extremely difficult. As well he gives no leeway on what is going to be on the exams or finals, he actually told me the wrong things to study for the te
Professor Lovelace is a pretty nice guy but this class is absolutely dreadful, lectures feel like a waste of time. I say this since we learn through Aleks an online program. We learn new material the day of our quizzes which are every week! Tests? There's never any review & no study guides, questions are absurdly difficult compared to lecture.
I have taken my pre-calculus during high school and had A in both semesters. However, his class is the most difficult class I have ever been to. He doesn't respond to any of his emails(we're in online class btw) and keep giving us worksheets, quizzes, and tests even though he has;t graded the previous ones.
Almost everyone who took his class failed. I was failing half way through the course and was able to re teach myself everything for the final and was able to pass but I did not learn anything from him. He does not check emails, he didn't show concern knowing all his students were failing, he made horrible excuses and so much more that I can't fit.
When it comes to online, his class is perhaps the most stressful yet. Thankfully I am already familiar with calculus, yet I still find myself getting refreshers through MIT ocw because his explanations truly lack depth and don't always apply to what is on the homework. Truly makes the course more difficult than it should be.
Very weird teaching structure. Doesnt seem to care about students or how they do. 4 weeks left in semester and hasnt graded a single thing yet we dont even have lectures, theyre just prerecordedfrom last semester for you to watch on weekends. Avoid if you can.
Since this class was virtual it had to be somewhat challenging. I think it was fairly easy for me because I somehow had studied the concepts in high school. One thing I hated about him was he expects you to watch the pre-recorded lectures and then come to class for doubts.
Lovelace is a teacher I would not want to have ever again he throws quizzes at you that don't even match the homework, he beats around the bush when he teaches, he doesn't respond to emails, and a tough grader with the scannable windows of submission only 5 minutes.
Professor Lovelace's idea of "flipped class" is pretty unique. He cooperative with the math department for what we can use on exams like formula/identity sheets. The only critical thing about his course would be the amount of quiz's there are (every week). The Unit Circle is mainly the only thing, you have remember which can look scary at first.
I had to retake calc a 2nd time with him and I wish I had went with another professor. he isnt terrible but meh. he doesnt give you practice questions for study guides .. only the topics which helps I guess?? overall hes nice & will help if u ask but def not a professor I would want when learning calc 1. I advise another if you struggle with math.
He's a ok professor overall but you'll have to work really hard to pass. The HW is online costs $100 and it doesn't even relate to the stuff we are doing. The course consists of 4 exams that are worth most of your grade. The final exam also replaces your lowest exam score.
The class overall is going to be challenging. Professor Lovelace is going to be helpful with giving clear instructions on what to do. Stay on top of work and get help when needed.
He gives out too much homework and that homework you do it's not actually on the quizzes. For the midterms, you are not allowed an equation sheet you have to remember everything. Complete your homework because it affects you really bad.
I dropped this class after reading the syllabus. 80% of your grade is based on how you do on tests and you get weekly quizzes. Luckily there was another professor teaching this course that had open seats in class. If you have to choose between Lovelace or Brower, choose Brower. A passing grade with him is a 55%.
Professor Lovelace is a very tough grader. stay away from this professor by all means. during the semester he showed up extremely late to class and just passed out quizzes to do when he arrived. the class was full when the semester started, but as the semester went on, less and less people were present.
stay away from him he will give quizzes every Monday and too much homework way extreme amount of homework over the weekend on top of that why quiz right after the weekend on a Monday it should be on a Wednesday . He is a hardcore hard grader he doesnt care about students stay away take pena
Professor Lovelace is super helpful, I never felt scared to ask about any questions I had and never hesitated to ask him to re-do a problem-- he will happily come up with another example problem with different numbers, in order to help! Do the homework, by all means, and get to class. Take the class if you're willing to put in the work, that's it.
Professor Lovelace is one of the best math professors that I have ever had. He gives quizzes every Monday based on the previous week's lectures and utilizes mymathlab for homework. He really cares for the students and wants every one to succeed. He will also break down the lecture if needed. I would definitely take his class again.
He assigns a lot of homework and a 5 question quiz every Monday, but you will appreciate his organization and how much he genuinely cares about what you learn in his course. He makes everything smooth and easy for you; he uses MML and every assignment is structured. Keep in mind it's calculus, calculus is never easy or fun.
Exams make 80% of your grade, HW is 10%, and quizzes are 10%. HW might be very difficult for you if you aren't great w math + HW consists of about 20-40 questions each week. Also, the questions on the HW don't always match the types of questions on quizzes an exams (HW questions are harder). You must go to class to understand and do well in tests.
Professor Lovelace is a great lecturer and answers student's questions well. While attendance isn't mandatory, I don't recommend skipping as it's easy to get behind. He did offer some easy extra credit near the end of the semester which helped a ton too.
Lots of homework, but not too harsh towards the end of the semester. Even though class isn't mandatory, I recommend going because he does a ton of examples that may be on the test. Study and practice the study guide as his exams are VERY similar. Overall a great teacher.
This is a hard class for most people. He grades classwork on completion so do as many assignments as you possibly can
Teaches the material very coherently and is very interactive with his students. Has a well structured syllabus so you always know what to expect. Only problem is that he doesn't upload online notes to canvas, so you will miss whatever he lectured in class. 12 quizzes (10%), 2 midterms (50%), 1 final (25%), Research Project (5%), and HW (10%)
Has weekly quizzes but are directly correlated to exam questions which he gives answers for for studying. He is very passionate about the topic of stats and you can see that in his lectures. Overall a solid class and he did his best to make the quizzes feel worth it as they helped you with the exams.
- Good lectures with lots of examples - Homework problems assigned from the textbook; took me about 1.5 - 2.5 hours each week to complete - Two exams covering the first third and second third of the course content (50% of grade) - Cumulative final exam (25% of grade) - Weekly quizzes (test questions are taken from the quizzes; 10% of grade)
If this class is a requirement for your major and you have difficulties in the course.. You should consider changing your major then. Professor Lovelace makes his class ridiculously easy to pass. There are weekly quizzes that are based off homework and you get the answers to them immediately after taking the quiz. Tests are based off quizzes.
He was a nice man but overall gave a quiz every week based on the previous weeks lecture, gave homework due every week. He isn't a bad professor at all, but beware of excessive work. At first the quizzes aren't too bad, but towards the end of the semester it can make or break your grade. To be honest, I wouldn't take him again.
Professor Lovelace is a really good professor and wants his students to learn. He is energetic and very respectful to all. The only things I personally thought was an issue was the weekly quiz based on the homework and lecture of the past week. Homework takes forever, but is worth it to get a better understanding of the course. 2 midterms 1 final.
Professor Lovelace is mid. Every Tuesday, we have quizzes that are based on homework, which are helpful to understand the material but tedious. There are two midterms and one final, and they're based on quizzes. He doesn't specifically tell you how many decimal places we should round our answers up. At least he's hilarious and energetic.
Super energetic about teaching and always granted extra time to helping you. As long as you correctly do the hw, I think that helped me do the weekly quizzes well. He's a RLLY lenient/empathetic grader. Allowed cheat sheets in the form of a notecard, full hw points as long as you completed it.
Professor Lovelace's Math242 class is well-structured, with helpful lectures and quizzes that align with the exams. While attendance is mandatory, the workload is manageable. unstuck ai proved to be a valuable study tool for me.
His grading system was very clear and well structured. He's pretty good at explaining things in his lectures. The only thing that kinda sucked was having quizzes every week but they weren't that bad.
Lovelace was great. Requirements were clear at the start of the semester. He has very well structured lectures and clear homework assignments. Quizes accurately reflect exam material. I found his lectures to be engaging myself. Highly recommend taking him
Great professor, very kind. Overall this class was fairly easy. Classwork was organized and quizzes/exams were straightforward. Just make sure you show up for the quizzes because there are no makeups allowed. I would definitely recommend this professor, especially for first year students.
He is the definition of a fair professor. His lectures are great and he gives good feedback. His test are based on the quizzes almost exactly. Chill dude.
Every Monday, we take a quiz on the homework topic we did that week and submit our homework along with the quiz. He allows you to drop a few quizzes and exams and his lectures explain the material well. However, he does not post the lecture notes online so it requires you to take notes. There's also a project that is required for you to do.
